With life spinning out of control… one man becomes your direction and centre.
Lettie has been stung and hurt badly by past relationships. It’s easier to test and push people away before she suffers further emotional pain. Her thoughts are a constant overflow of over thinking and self-doubt. Yet, she has confidence in what she knows factually, she just doesn’t quite know how to fit all that knowledge into her interactions with others. That’s so sad but so realistic! Given the chance, and in his capable an oh so right hands, Zane keeps pushing her boundaries, that her less than stellar behaviours and quirky comments, are no match against their incendiary togetherness.
Add the adorable bonds of pets and animals from the shelter – OMG it’s a recipe that is sure to capture your heart. Those bonds can break the reserves and walls around your heart. It wasn’t just the addition of animals into the story …it was the realistic behaviours that have you laughing and cringing at the same time… that having animals in a house can often times cause mayhem and destruction even though we love them to pieces.
Ann gives you yet another fabulous glimpse of everyday life, You can’t help but be swept up inside its realism and drama. It’s light-hearted, it’s fun, it’s dramatic, it’s heat and sexiness and the banter will pull on your emotions. This is SPIN THE BOTTLE. Read what it will take to bring two wonderful, caring, stubborn and vulnerable souls together. Join Zane and Lettie, share in their journey.
Could that be all? Of course not! Anne ramps up the nefarious arson activity at play… I’m still wondering just how that snippet from Book 2 evolves… or should it have been more? Is your interest piqued? Yes? – you’ve got to keep reading this series to see how it all plays out… If you haven’t started… go back to the beginning. It’s turning out to be a whole lot of serious, yet tenderhearted, fun reading this series. I can’t wait for Bk 4 to see how this series concludes 🙂
This is Zane and Lettie’s book. This is the 3rd book in this series.
This story is such a down to earth, everyday normal, kind of story.
Lettie has 1 rule. How a kiss goes is how the relationship goes. Her past relationships have lived up to her rule too, cementing how flawless it is.
The first time Zane kisses her, disaster followed. She kept him at arms length after that. He slowly but surely breaks down her walls and she starts to see him as a good guy.
Then the arsonist strikes again.
Can Zane save Lettie?
Will they have their HEA?
Does Zane get an animal of his very own?
Read to find out these answers!
I could NOT put this book down!!
Another great read by Mrs Conley. Spin The Bottle is Book 3 in the Playing With Fire series.
Lettie pretty much runs an animal shelter that is currently teaming up with the firehouse bin town to produce a calendar. Sexy, oiled up half dressed men posing with sweet fluffy kittens and puppies!!! Amazing way to raise funds and get foot traffic into the shelter. As soon as Zane spots Lettie, he immediately wants to get to know her but she doesn’t give him the time of day. He decides to adopt one of the puppies and by doing that it opens a line of communication between them.
Zane has to unexpectedly go out of town for a few days and no one is able to watch his new puppy Otis so his last resort was to ask Lettie. Now she is staying in his house dog sitting and sleeping in Zane’s bed. Zane gets to skype with her at night and talk to Otis too. It’s quite cute actually.
Lettie doesn’t like people and doesn’t have any friends. Finally she meets Katie at a bar ( which happens to be the bar the firemen from the photo shoot go to) and whole Zane is Skyping that night he sees something that makes him see red!!!
Zane and Lettie end up becoming friends but things are weird for a bit. When Lettie really needs him will he be able to come through for her? She needs him for more then one thing. When a man finds a woman he really likes, there’s really nothing he won’t do for her.
This book had me hooked from the first page. Cannot waitnfor the last book in this series.
Oh Lettie…. how I love her so. I think this is my fav book in the series!! One of my favourite things about this series is that the characters are so relatable. It’s as if your reading a text from your friend about what happened with them, but Lettie I think is my fav female in this series!! Where Katie is still working my nerves, however I think once we get to her story I may grow to like her. LIKE her not LOVE her lol
This one starts out differently than the first two in the Playing with Fire series—with some mystery/crime drama, so I’m hooked right away. This installment is for Zane and Lettie; Zane is damaged but he’s mostly got handle on it… and he is delicious. Lettie runs an animal shelter so what’s not to love there?
There’s no shortage of cuteness with all the animals involved in this one and lots of laughing out loud happened for me. Conley did a good job of keeping it rooted in reality, even for this long-time animal hospital worker.
Zane and Lettie fall fast and hard, but there’s still no shortage of drama along the way. Without spoiling it, I’ll simply say it’s really satisfying. 🙂 Conley also sets up a mystery, so as if Katie and Logan didn’t torture us enough while we wait for their story, there’s even more reason to need Hot Lava.
Three books in, I’m still completely addicted to this entire cast, and the town itself.
The editing and ng are proofing professional and the formatting is gorgeous; the interior is in great shape.
4 stars.
