Allison Titov and Asher Brooks have been best friends their whole lives. Brought up together as part of the Assassins family, they might as well be related. But… Ally has never felt anything sisterly toward Asher.
In love with Asher since she was a teen, Ally has gone pro at keeping her feelings a secret. It’s been easy…as long as he’s stayed halfway across the country at college and she has a … she has a volleyball to slap her frustrations out on. But now, he’s home. And having his quick wit, heart-filling laugh, and adorkable smile so close is going to test her like never before.
After being dumped by his fiancée, Asher is at a loss what to do next. He craves stability, but with an unexpected kiss, Ally might as well have spiked Asher in the face with a volleyball. Now he’s faced with the dilemma of his life. Does he keep Ally in the friend zone, or does he take the ultimate risk for love?
If they’ve learned one thing growing up in the glow of hockey greatness, it’s that you can’t win it all if you don’t play the game. And by serving one hell of an ace into the middle of Asher’s safe little life, Ally is ready to claim victory.

Spiked by Love is the latest book in the next generation. I have never liked two characters that frustrated as much as these two.
Ally and Asher have been best friends all their lives. How can two people be so close but also so clueless… I wanted to give them a good shake and make them sit down and talk. They made the story emotionally draining, they fight their feelings even when they are giving into them. They have so many offering advice, so many wanting it to work but is there too much against them.
Gah! How awesome is this? More Assassins’ kids finding their own epic love stories just like their parents did!! I hope this Bullies series goes on forever! Toni Aleo you have found a way to continue to breathe life and come up with new incredible stories from these Assassins’ families with you’re primo writing skills and imagination, so please keep it going as long as you can!!!
This is such a fantastic friends to lovers story starring Ally Titov and Asher Brooks. Best friends all their lives, but now with Asher’s return to Nashville after college something seems a little different between them. This is a wonderful, sweet, sexy, heartwarming, soul- searching look at the struggle both of these characters face as they wrestle with these other feelings between them that were probably always there but have now finally surfaced. For Ally, she sees them as the best thing that could have happened for them but for Asher he fears it could ruin everything and isn’t sure he can handle it. This is a such an incredible story and watching as Ally and Asher navigate their feelings, their lives and their amazing and supportive yet meddling families is simply everything!
Ok so this will make more sense after you read the book but pretend you are looking at a Jumbotron now and you see this:
I LOVED SPIKED BY LOVE!!!YOU NEED THIS BOOK IN YOUR LIFE!!!
Asher and Aly have been best friends all their lives. They’re families are intertwined from having fathers who both played for the Assassins years before. Although they both claimed to be best friends only, secretly they have each loved each other since teens. When Asher moves back to the Nashville area after a break up, these two will discover that what they feel now is more than friendship. I really enjoyed this book. We get to see Asher and Aly as friends and then slowly discover they love each other and it turns into more. I thought their issues were valid and made sense. I loved the addition of seeing their friends and families, although there was so many of them it was kinda hard to keep track of them all. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
If you love a good friends to lovers story than Spiked by Love is perfect for you! When you combine fantastic writing, memorable characters and a sweet romantic storyline about young love, you have a book that you will not want to put down!
From the Assassins series to the Bellevue Bullies there are so many families that we have gotten to know in both of these series. They are interconnected through the teams, friendships and love. Now we have a chance to see Asher and Ally all grown up and finding their own way. This book can be read as a standalone but if you haven’t already had a chance to read the other books in both of these series you will be in for a treat.
Great friendships are hard to find, but Asher and Ally have been best friends most of their lives and now they are both at a crossroads. They each have been fighting their feelings for years, afraid of losing a great friendship, but they are now going to cross a line and this could either go up in flames or be the beginning of an epic love story.
Grab your copy and see for yourself if Asher and Ally take that leap into love together! You will not be disappointed!
Spiked By Love is emotional and absolutely frustrating. These two need to be smacked upside the head violently, in the nicest way possible.
Best friends forever, Ally and Asher have a secret that they have held onto individually for too many years. They have been in denial, fought their feelings, and burried them under 10 feet of rubble. No way that’s getting out….and yet somehow (it’s the pirate patch) everything comes out.
Between choking on their feelings and their terrible decisions, somehow, they find a way to make everyone happy. Except maybe Aaron, he seemed done with them. Lol.
Buckle up, grab the “oh shit” bar, and watch for spiked volleyballs! It’s about to get crazy in here.
What a fantastic friends to lovers story! I love how Toni Aleo has given us the stories of the Nashville Assassins children and how we get to see all of the characters we’ve come to love over the years as we watch their kids fall in love as well.
Allison Titov and Asher Brooks have known one another their whole lives. They’ve been best friends and practically attached at the hip as long as anyone can remember. For nearly the last decade they’ve talked, texted and generally corresponded every single day, even when Asher was living in California.
Asher is now back in Nashville after having broken off his engagement and Ally couldn’t be more thrilled to have her best friend back around all the time. The biggest problem for her is that she’s fighting the feelings she’s had for him for as long as she can remember. It’s always been him for her, but she doesn’t think he feels the same way.
When she and Asher are together more and more, Asher is also having a hard time concealing his feelings for his longtime bestie. Should he take a chance with her or does he risk losing her friendship if he makes a move?
I enjoyed how everything unfolded for Asher and Ally. There is nothing more frightening than revealing your feelings for someone and Toni Aleo did a fantastic job of showcasing how both easy and difficult it can be when it is someone that means so much to you and that you know so much about. I thought the struggle was great too. They had real things they had to work through and in the end, it didn’t really matter who was at fault for the spat, all that mattered were the feelings.
This was a wonderful addition to this already entertaining series!
5 star Review Spiked by Love (Bellevue Bullies #6) by Toni Aleo
I am relatively new to the Bellevue Bullies series and why that is I have absolutely no idea. I enjoy Toni Aleo’s style of writing and was totally invested in the story that she wove about Allison (Ally) Titov and Asher Brooks. This is a friends to lovers story that will draw you in and hook you from the first chapter.
This was a well written story of lifelong friendship, of love, of taking a chance and a leap of faith. There is drama, banter, spice and a story line that will challenge the very basis of Ally and Asher’s friendship.
Spiked By love is full of love and family. Ally and Asher had to work for their happily ever after and their path to happiness was not as smooth as one might expect. There was a great deal of emotion and love packed into this story. It was also great to see familiar faces pop up whilst reading and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Pure perfection.
Everytime I read another book from Toni, whether it be an Assassin’s book, Assassin’s Next Generation, or Bellevue Bullies, I fall in love. Spiked by Love was no different. From the moment I finished reading Dump and Chase (Shelli and Aiden), I knew that I wanted Asher and Ally’s story IMMEDIATELY after. They’re relationship showed through Dump and Chase enough that I knew with all my reading/hockey heart (even though there isn’t hockey in this story), they would be my next “it” couple… and they are.
Ally is a spitfire of passion who completes the more shy, but just as freaky version of Aiden in Asher. They’re love is real and seeing the progression of their relationship from children, to best friends, to lovers is beautiful. It’s a story that shows that just because you know each other completely, doesn’t mean there won’t be hardships. Hardships actually make the relationship stronger in my opinion. I think that’s what this story shows between Asher and Ally.
They thought they knew each other completely and that there were no secrets, and when this was revealed to be false, their relationship crumbled from under them. For necessary reasons, but I still felt the sadness and loneliness in my heart that I knew they had to be feeling. I know what it’s like to have someone so close to you (not in a romantic way), and then something happens that changes the relationship in a way that you don’t know how to move forward. It takes those instances to recognize something great, or toxic, in your life.
Should you keep it? Should you let it go? Should you apologize?
I’m so glad that Asher and Ally decided to keep their relationship and progress into the loving couple that they are now. I can’t wait to see their side appearances in future books! Asher put it best when he said:
“I can’t be in love without you.”
What a Fantastic Friends to Lovers Read Spiked by Love is. Asher Brooks & Ally Titov have known each other their whole lives and have been best friends for most of them, they consider each other their ride or die and will do anything for each other. Everyone knows they should be more but they insist they are only best friends.
You will watch how Asher struggles with wanting more and how Ally is ready to go all in but what you will watch is how everything comes together for them, but you will also see how they will go through some ups and downs to get there.
What I loved is that The Assassins Families are a tight knit bunch and they will all be there for each other no matter the circumstances. But really this book is another winner for Toni Aleo and I hope she never leaves the Assassin World.
I will never get enough of these kids! 5 volleyball stars for this!
This book follows Allison & Asher, best friends since forever! When Asher moves back to town after leaving his fiance’, he and Ally pick up right where they left off, him attending her volleyball games, and them hanging out together. Only problem is, they both have feelings for each other, but are afraid to tell the other for fear of losing the friendship they’ve had forever. Can these two take the risk to find true love, or will they let it go and miss out on the chance….. Read this and find out!
Make sure you grab this asap!
Toni, I absolutely love the kids stories, I can’t get enough! Great job with these two!
