Spellcasting with a Chance of SpiritsEvery cloud has a silver lining…even in matters of the heart.I can see and hear the dead. I can also talk to animals. As a natural-born witch and medium, I can do a lot of odd things. In most people’s eyes, that makes me a loon. I like to think of it as being unique and eccentric. Plus, now that destiny has brought me back to the town I was born in, I’m not … was born in, I’m not all that different from the supernatural residents of Grimm Cove.
When I find myself being hunted by a dark entity, I turn to the only person who can really help. Too bad he dislikes people in general, would rather keep to himself, and is positive my elevator doesn’t stop at all floors. Plus, he’s not a fan of squirrels which does put a kink in things considering my familiar is one.
Should make for an interesting adventure seeing as how he’s my mate and we’re destined for one another.

Loved this story
This book is about Marcy and Bram. While this book is part of a series, it is also a self-contained story.
Marcy seem like an air head to most but in reality to me she seems to see and understand more then most.
I’m looking forward to reading the next book.
After reading the second book in this series I was excited for this book to be released. In this one we get Bram, Dana’s father and Marcy, one of her best friends. Marcy must work with Bram and his team to stop the evil that is coming for her and those she loves. The banter between the two of them is wild and this storyline is getting better and better as we are coming to the end of the series and I can’t wait to see what will happen next in Grimm Cove.
I received a copy of this book for a review.
I often wonder if this author can find a genre she can not write because every book I jave read by her has pulled me in, this story is the 3rd in this series and we get Marcy she was not raised in the town she was born in but now is back to find out her heritage. Her way to find out is in Bram’s library and these two make for a funny , and very interesting read!!
A total delight!
After reading the first two books in this series, I had a feeling I was going to love this one. Boy, was I right! I had a feeling that the carefree whimsy of Marcy would be sure to keep me on the edge of my seat, wondering what she could get into next. Spellcasting with a Chance of Spirits had me giggling, guffawing, and outright laughing out loud at Marcy’s antics. Like the alpha vamp said, “She’s perfect.” What a delightful read. Can’t wait for the next in the series.
I could hardly wait for this one. I love Marcy.
Quirky Marcy with Bram is the couple I didn’t know I wanted, but soooo thrilled I did. I have always wanted to move to Everlasting (check out that series), now I want to move to Grimm Cove. Can’t wait for the audio.
This Saturday, get a nice cup of tea, get in a nice bubble bath and read this book.
I am a huge fan of the relatively new genre of Paranormal Women’s fiction and have long loved Mandy Roth’s work. To find them both in one series is like winning the lottery.
In this installment, we get Marcy’s story. Marcy is a bit of a free spirit. She grew up in the foster system and has no ideal of who or what her parents were. She has only recently found out that she was born in Grimm’s Cove. She is told by the head of the local coven to contact her best friend Dana’s father Bram Van Helsing for access to his extensive library to research her background.
Bram is the head of the Van Helsing slayers and a vampire. He, the slayers, and his supernatural allies are battling an evil group led by the necromancer Ager. That group includes Marcy’s ex and they are after her.
This book is alot of fun. Ms. Roth combines romance, suspense, comedy, and the supernatural with deft skill. Marcy’s bubble bath conversations and crocheted bikinis had me laughing out loud. She and Bram are an unlikely pair at first sight, but they complement each other perfectly. I really enjoyed my third trip back to Grimm’s Cove and hope to travel back there again very soon!
This book was intense, but exciting. Following the timetable of the beginning of the book was a little challenging, but once it got really rolling I couldn’t turn it down. Marcy and her neverminds were hilarious.

I cannot say enough good things about this the third installment in the Grimm Cove series! I adore these books. I love Marcy and how she is so very clearly a head in the clouds person, but at the time sometimes sees way more than her friends. I love Bram for her. He’s so yummy and protective and powerful and I think Marcy needs that. This book is also laugh out loud funny! I love the banter and snark between the characters. More of this series please!
Spellcasting with a Chance of Spirits is a great addition to the Grimm Cove series by Mandy M. Roth . This is book # 3 and this is Bram and Mercy’s story. This is full of paranormal hijinks, intrigue, romance and cast of great main and secondary characters. Really enjoyed the pace of the story and never slows down. Enjoyed visiting my favorite supernatural characters and meeting new characters that make me eager for more stories in this series. In all, great paranormal romance read!
My Rating: 4.5 stars *********
All I can say is Oh My Goddess! This book is amazing. I would love to be best friends with Marcy. She has been through so much but has such a positive way to look at the world. At times it may seem like she could get taken advantage of but she knows what she wants and has her best friends by her side. Bram is an immortal vampire who has seen many things throughout his years and has somethings he regrets. An old enemy for both of them has come to town…wanting to destroy their world.
If you love bubbles, a book that can make you laugh out loud and not want to put it down, this is a must read for you. I highly recommend.
Wonderful read! Bram and Mercy’s story had me laughing so hard. Burgess is a hoot as well. Just imagine a fox squirrel familiar intent on making mayhem. This is a great read! I thoroughly enjoyed it start to finish! I received an advanced copy of this book and freely leave this honest review.
Words cannot describe how much I love this book! Marcy and Bram are both such multi-faceted characters. It’s a story of friendship, love, and overcoming the darkness of the past with a lot of humor mixed in. You won’t want to put this book down!
I loved the wonderful characters! Typical of Mandy Roth, it sucked me completely before I finished the 1st page. Everything else was put on hold until I finished the story. Her detail to character development and describing the scenes without over doing it, has always been amazing. I loved it!
Return again to Grimm Cove, South Carolina. A little town where strange is quite normal.
We get to be reunited with the powerful trio of Dana, Marcy and Poppy. This time the story is all about Marcy and Dana’s father Bram Van Helsing.
Marcy has such a free spirit and a quirky sense of humor and she is my favorite of the three (I loved them all though).
She and Bram are an interesting couple. Marcy keeps everyone on their toes and keeps them all laughing, Bram is a serious Slayer/Ancient Vampire. Can you just imagine the two of them getting together? Let me tell ya it is belly laugh funny.
The beginning of the book gives us Brams history before moving to Grimm Cove.
I really try hard not to post any kind of spoilers but it is extremely difficult when you are reviewing a great story by an awesome Author. I for one hope she keeps going with this series, I can not wait for the next book.
WOW! Ok, so it actually took me a few days to be able to write a review. This is one of those rare books that left me speechless. It was just that good. I was way past just hooked. I swallowed that hook. Marcy has been a character that I have loved and could not wait for her HEA. She is such a free spirit and loving person. She loves like no other and there is not a mean bone in her body. Her familiar is a squirrel named Burges and the way these two interact… just awwwwww! She is not in touch with what is socially acceptable and that makes her just that much more charming. Now, her mate… Bram… aka Mr. Dana’s Father… this man make brooding an art. He loves his daughter and has stayed out of her life in order to keep her safe. Now, he finds out that her best friend is his mate. Just how much more awkward can it get? Oh yeah, he doesn’t realize it at first. It is hilarious seeing the youngsters figuring it out and ribbing him over it. Once these two get together, oh holy cow! Things come full circle and some wrongs are made right.
This book has it all! Fun, love, heat, danger, and many other things. There is not a slow point and
really not a point to put it down.
Marcy & Bram have been bubbling away in the background and now it’s time for their walk into a HEA!
Bram may head up the Van Helsing vampire hunters but only a select few are aware of his identity and his location. After all being a vampire kind of makes him a target! But along with some of his friends, they were turned into “monsters” against their will Now they do their utmost to save others from the same fate. It’s not a life conducive to family life and Bram did what he thought was best when he sent Dana and her mother away to safety. But he always kept an eye on his daughter. But one particular friend caught his eye and he became a tad…attached!
Marcy is totally tuned to the moon. Hippies probably despair of her vague grasp on reality!
Add in the whole can see ghosts thing and talking to animals and hugging trees. You wonder how her friends managed to keep her attached to Earth! But Marcy is more than comic relief, she has a bit of a history with a psychotic ex, one who may not be as gone as she thought!
OMG Marcy made me wee my pants laughing! Her total disregard of social norms, like dealing with nude people in baths, is just flat out bonkers! She can lead a conversation into sexual innuendo and double entendre like no-one else! Bram is brilliant as the conflicted absent dad, with more than a crush on his daughter’s bestie, never mind that said bestie is over 4o!
A certain squirrel proves his familiar status by kinda saving the day and I just can’t wait to see what happens to the rest of the crazy gang!
Marcy marches to the beat of a different drummer. But for all her cookiness she is loved. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Marcy find her happily ever after. I was pleasantly surprised by who Ms. Roth believed would complete her. But I must admit I enjoyed the pairing. Bram has protected those he loves for so long he knows no other way. But can he accept who Marcy is before it is too late?
Spellcasting with a Chance of Spirits is the latest in Mandy M. Roth’s Grimm Cove series. I loved this story and found myself laughing out loud on several occasions. I enjoyed seeing Marcy find her love even if it was slightly unexpected. I enjoyed seeing Bram fight himself as he finds he is attracted to his daughter’s best friend. I loved seeing Marcy and Bram navigate the danger that surrounds them even as they find love. This was an enjoyable read and I can’t wait to see where Ms. Roth will take us next.
Marcy & Bram
Wow! Some of my favorite supernatural characters and new characters I love. The darn thing is amazing.
A team of supernaturals working to keep humans and other sups safe whose leader you will easily recognize. Some of his team are snarky often to the point of endangering themselves with their words and actions. The boss doesn’t always have a sense of humor.
Then we have three friends who are different yes the besties to beat all besties. Marcy is hysterical. She’s got witchy powers, can speak to spirits and animals, besides having some weird friendly actions. Let’s just say the men around her…think you better find out for yourselves. Bubbles remember bubbles.
This one will delve into the histories and relatives of the buddies exposing some real surprises. It is difficult to tell more without spoilers so just read and enjoy. Don’t miss out.
