Just when Josy though things were getting better at the Academy… there had to be a curse.

I liked the character development of Josie and her friends in this book. I can definitely see Josie getting stronger.
This book had a few surprises and twists in it. There’s also the blossoming of a sweet romance.
Josie and Aspen are very cute together. I hope they can figure out a solution to their situation. I look forward to seeing where the information Josie uncovered will take her and if it will help solve the curse.
What can I say, Mrs Penner knocked another one out of the park. The 2nd episode of the Spellcaster academy follows Josy on her trip of self discovery, unanswered questions and possible romance. We get answers to a few questions from the first episode but of course more questions are raised in Hope’s of finding out in the upcoming episode. I adore the characters, especially Nine. They fit into the story perfectly.
As this story is told in ‘episodes’ rather then full length novel of course the story is leaves you anxiously waiting the next episode to come. We must wait 30 days for each episode, but it is well worth it to me.
Overall rating: 4.5
More parts of the MC’s past are slowly being discovered and this author keeps you guessing as to who are truly the bad guys in this story. Emotions are running it’s full course through this episode with the scales teetering from happiness to heartbreaks. This easy to read part 2 did a wonderful job continuing this unique story! Can’t wait for part three! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
A curse of death. Josy is still at the Academy but once again most of the students are ignoring her or blaming her for her Morelli blood. She and Aspen grow close, and more is revealed about the Morelli and what started them on the path to evil. But they weren’t always evil, and others have covered up what really happened. Can Josy find out the truth? And will she be able to break the curse that causes anyone who loves a Morelli to die?
The Dark Curse picks up right where the first episode leaves off. Josy still struggles to fit in, but she has a couple good friends now. There’s even a bit more romance as thongs start to heat up between her and Aspen, who is a total sweetheart. I definitely approve of this pairing.
As far as the fantasy is concerned, there isn’t very much. Yes there is some action, but I was surprised at how little magic there was. Nor did we see Josy spend much time in class learning new spells.
I still have far more questions than answers. And most of the answers we did get were vague. I am intrigued by the dark curse of the Morelli, but nothing has really come of it yet. Clearly, this episode is meant to be that awkward middle of the story where things are still progressing. It doesn’t stand on its own very well.
I will continue reading this story because I need so
many answers. And although I expect the next installment to be heartbreaking, I know there will be an epic adventure involved in order to make things right. And I intend to be front and center for the ride.
This is a fab second book! As good as the first book this well written exciting action filled tale had me on the edge of my seat! Magic , mystery, some secrets revealed, more twists and turns , great world, yielding and fab characters, bring on book 3!
I need more! Episode 2 pulled me right in and wouldn’t turn me loose. Can’t wait for episode 3.
I received an ARC of this book.
**I reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book**
As we continue from episode 1, Josy is learning more about herself, her parents and her heritage. And sometimes the truth can be painful!
As much as I loved the first episode, the second episode feels like it’s lacking a little something after that great start….as Josy learns more, it seemed as the storyline was not as strong. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great filler episode but it just lacks a little of the Wow after the first, and I hope things pick back up!?!?
A great second book in the Spellcaster Academy series. I received an advance reader copy free from the author. Josy needed answers about her heritage as a Morelli especially when Professor Lakeshore was found dead in the middle of campus. All or mostly all the students blamed her since she was a Morelli. The campus directorate had interviewed her and let her go. Her friend, Holly, was helping her look in the library of the Academy for any book that might have the information but with no luck. Aspen, her tutor, provided a little diversion for her by showing some romantic interest. However, in the end, Josy felt she needed to distance herself from him to protect him from blame. Other twists to the story, and a big surprise, only left Josy with more questions than answers. Hopefully we will find those answers in the next book. I felt sorry for Josy having to prove her innocence. I was glad she had a friend in Holly. I’m anxious to find the answers to her dilemma but how will they come? Will Aspen be happy to take a back seat in all this drama? What surprises are in store in the next book? Can’t wait to find out.
Josy’s journey continues in episode 2 of this series. Once again the author advances the story and some secrets are revealed but the reader is left wanting more. I love the characters and the storyline of this series and am excited to see where it leads next
I received an ARC of this episode for free for my honest review. I absolutely loved the first book and was so excited to receive this second one! The beginning was a tiny bit slow and hard to get into but I think that is because I was in a Christina Lauren high. But the further I got into reading this the more I found myself falling in love with this world.
The further we got in the more on the edge of my seat I became wanting to know what was happening, learning some interesting facts about the Morelli and having my heart break a little bit as well.
The only think is sometimes Josy seems a lot younger than 17 and I forget how old she is, however, this is a clean romance and she has some innocence in her regarding other parts of her life so maybe that is why she appears younger than I feel at times. Other than that this was a solid second part of the story and I will be continuing on with this series more
