I have to say that when I decided to read this book, I was not sure how I was going to enjoy this book. I must say I am very happy to say that I really enjoyed this book.
I mean how couldn’t enjoy a book where a mixed-race(human and alien) human has to fight against the government who is ostracizing them because of who they are. I know I could be reading things into what happened in this book and the way I perceive it.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

“The Spectacle Trilogy” by S.J. Pierce is a YA adventure series that mixes dystopian with soft science fiction tropes and more than loosely reminds of Suzanne Collins’s “The Hunger Games”, Veronica Roth’s “Divergent Series”, and Vera Nazarian’s “The Atlantis Grail”. This is a good-written, easy to read and quick (barely 160 pages) book.
Two hundred years ago Earth suffered the Great Disaster, an earthquake of unseeing magnitude that forever changed the face of the planet, which now shows three remaining big landmasses. Mira Foster (FMC) lives in one of them (New America) but Mira’s family bears a secret, they are alien descendants, who have been living between humans hiding in plain sight. But as their genetical markings (which should help them to camouflage) appear on their skin, they become the target of the government, and deported to a sort of penal colony, to an island, where they are supposed to survive against the elements and wild-life.
The series focuses on conflict and power discrepancies between the two factions in the series and highlights the dark elements of the new social system in which people with different abilities become targets, just for being what they are, and are presented as a threat to the average population
