Sheldon Siegel writes one of the top series of legal thrillers in modern crime fiction. If you haven’t scaled San Francisco’s hills with lawyers Mike Daley and Rosie Fernandez, ex-spouses who work together, start with “Special Circumstances,” first of the series. It’s a tightly plotted, precisely observed, savvy and witty tale with the pop of a …
Ex priest and lawyer, Mike Daley and his wife Rosie run a legal agency. The dialogue and characters are interesting. This is book one in a series. Easy reading.
Entertaining.
A good legal thriller… addictive … like playing an engaging game of chess….
Legal thrillers can be a real hit or miss for me. There are those that are heavy on the thriller part and light on all the legalese, jargon and procedures. Then there are the ones that are the exact opposite.
After reading quite a few legal thrillers, I have discovered that I prefer the former. I got nearly 100pgs in before I realized this …
This was an excellent book -couldn’t put it down -twists and turns -great read
This is a very good legal murder mystery. A top earning lawyer,Bob Holmes, is found dead, apparent suicide, along with another lawyer,Diana Kennedy, making it look like murder suicide. But then the new District Attorney,Prentice Marshall Gates III, formerly a lawyer with the same law firm, and the police find evidence suggesting that one of the …
I haven’t read much in the legal thriller genre, but I picked up this book because it was set in my own backyard of San Francisco and Marin County. And I’m very glad I did. It was such an enjoyable read. Great characters and enough twists to keep me guessing. The inner dialogue of the protagonist, Mike Daley, really added to the flow of the book …
A Fantastic book! An original and very entertaining story that contained all the elements that constitute a good book: wonderful characters, a realistic legal drama, a real page turner, with a touch of romance thrown in, and a believable end! I highly recommend this author!
It had very good twists in the story and you may not expect the ending. A wonderful legal suspense.
Original story, well-developed characters, unexpected developments. So good, I will look for others from this author.
Sheldon Siegel has the special talent of holding you from beginning to end of each book.
Book #1 of the Mike Daley/Rosie Fernandez series of legal thrillers was a great read. After reading Book #1, I then read Books #2 thru #9. I enjoyed them all. Highly recommend Sheldon Siegel.
I loved the personal story of the characters. It was an interesting plot. I loved it ! I will look for other books by this author.
I bought this book in February of 2019, started it, got sidetracked by life and didn’t pick it back up again until late April. I’m really glad I did.
If you love lawyers working with clients, lawyers talking to potential witnesses and all of the courtroom stuff without a whole lot of fluff and filler, this is your book. Yes, you get character …
Totally Excellent
Entire series excellent
Very good legal “whodunnit” with good court dialogue and a very interesting ending.
I chose to give this book 5 stars because it kept my interest despite a few places where I wish it were done differently. However, the author described the characters well and I felt I knew them. There was a process which seemed to make the situation impossible for the defendant and I was introduced to a lot of court procedure I hope I never have …
Good all around reading.
Great murder mystery with the ending a first degree murder trial of a lawyer. Fine character development of the main players leading the reader this way and that over who done it. The courtroom comes alive just like I remember it in my past life. It would be a superior TV movie if adapted for same.
