This Spartan makes her own destiny . . .Most kids at the Colorado branch of Mythos Academy know me as Rory Forseti, the daughter of Reaper assassins. Secretly, I’m a member of Team Midgard, a group of students and adults tasked with stopping Covington, the evil leader of the Reapers of Chaos. For me, the mission is a deeply personal one, since Covington is also the man who murdered my parents.… parents.
When my friends and I get a lead on a powerful artifact that Covington wants to steal, we think we finally have a chance to thwart the Reapers and stop them for good. Team Midgard comes up with a plan, but everything goes sideways, and I’m suddenly in the fight of my life.
My worst fears might have come true, but I know what my Spartan destiny is—to save my friends, or die trying . . .

I have been provided with a copy of Spartan Destiny by the author for an impartial review. This is the third and final book in the Mythos Academy Colorado series and this series is a spinoff of the Mythos Academy series. Oh my gosh this book just had me on the edge of my seat and I just couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. It was just such a fantastic story and another great installment in this series. I just couldn’t get enough of it and I just can’t believe that this is the end to this series. I’ve just had so much fun with these amazing characters and I am just so sad to say goodbye. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

Spartan Destiny is the third and final book in the Mythos Academy: Colorado series and Rory and Team Midgard’s final adventure.
In this final book, Rory and Team Midgard are still tracking Covington and trying to stop him from collecting powerful magical artifacts to aid his evil cause. The stakes are even higher and they cannot fail or all will be lost for good. Rory, Ian, Zoe, and Mateo face their greatest challenge to find and safely secure the artifacts Covington and his followers are seeking before he can complete his collection and succeed with his plans. An unexpected turn of events takes place on a mission leaving Rory reeling and completely alone. When Covington unleashes a horrible virus infecting all but her, she is faced with hard choices and in for the battle of her life as she has to confront her friends and fight Covington and his followers in order to save them. Several twists, turns, and surprises await Rory and her friends in this new adventure. This book is a great wrap up of the series.
I have enjoyed Rory’s character in each book but to me, she really stands out in this one. She has finally found herself and her place at the school with her friends. You can really see how much she has grown over the series. She has a sweet caring nature, great strength and determination, has become more secure in herself and her surroundings, and has formed strong bonds with her friends. When things are at their worst, she finds great courage and pushes forward to succeed.
I also enjoyed the relationship development between Rory and Ian, they make a great team. Mateo and Zoe’s development was a nice surprise and they were all entertaining. And the relationships did not supersede the mission or overall story flow; there were a few laughs and just enough stolen moments to satisfy that aspect of the book. Each of the additional characters brought something fresh and new to the story to enjoy. I really felt bad for Ian in dealing with his brother. There was definitely some emotional turmoil throughout the pages from Rory and Ian in dealing with the familial aspects of their mission and the hard decisions they had to face.
There is plenty of action, suspense, mystery, and surprises tucked into the pages of Spartan Destiny to make for a wonderful read and a great ending to a fun series. I am looking forward to seeing where Estep’s imagination and writing will take us next.
*I received an arc from the author and I am voluntarily providing my honest review. The complete Mythos Academy: Colorado series will definitely have a place on my bookshelf next to the original Mythos Academy series.
