Sparks and Landmarks is an awesome book. I love how Mitzy Moon is settling into Pin Cherry Harbor and of course, her attraction to Sheriff Erik Harper that keeps me coming back. I love how there ends up being a murder and the two of them working to find out who did even if it is Trixie trying to solve it and getting in the Sheriff’s way.
I have enjoyed getting to see how all the characters are growing and becoming entangled in each other’s lives.
The story telling keeps getting better with each book. I cannot wait to see how things in Pin Cherry Harbor continue to develop.
Overall rating: 4.8
Truly needed this book 4! The progression of the relationships between characters have been a definite must have more factor. Not to mention I have been enjoying the quirkiness of each situation. The cases that come to this detectives attention have been quite unique as well. Can’t wait to read the next case! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
Ms. Silvertale has provided her readers with another delightful cozy mystery. Mitzy and the gang (I love Ghostma) are back investing a murder after the building next to the bookstore is burned down and a body is found inside. Who is it and why was he murdered? It looks as if Mitzy’s father will go back to prison for the crime he didn’t commit. Or did he? Mitzi’s clumsiness gives her an advantage when she falls, literally, into a clue and she receives several visions. I am looking forward to the next book in this series….especially what looks to be the advancing romance between her and the handsome Erick.
Love this new adventure with Mitzy. Can’t wait to see what will happen next. Mitzy is awoken in the middle of the night by a fire in the building next door. When a body is found, her father is once again a suspect. She has to figure out the true killer because she knows her dad is innocent. It is hard to live in a small town when you are an ex-con. As she is searching for clues, she is in danger once again and Erick has to come to save her. Will he be in time? I wish she and Erick would give in to their attraction. I am not so sure about Mr. Bombay. Is he a good guy or not?
Another great mystery book with the fun loving adorable Mitzy. I loved the humor throw in alongside the suspense. I’m really enjoying watching the relationships Mitzy is making with her new family and friends. Such a great fun series and I’m looking forward to the next one.
I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. I read Fries & Alibis, Tattoos & Clues, and Wings & Broken Things, the first three books in this series, and I really enjoyed them, so I was happy to read this book when it was available.
Mitzy Moon seems to attract trouble. With her psychic gifts, she’s good at figuring out mysteries and is usually one step ahead of the sheriff. Unfortunately, being one step ahead often puts her in danger.
Mitzy finally has a family since she inherited her grandmother’s bookstore. She’s getting to know Grams in her ghostly form and is finally getting to know her father. The more Mitzy Moon books I read, the more I enjoy the characters. Mitzy is clumsy, smart, and hilarious. Grams is a force of nature and continues to learn more about being a ghost. The two truly love each other already. Mitzy’s dad, Jacob, has made mistakes in the past but Mitzy is thrilled to have him in her life, and they’re getting to know each other.
When the building next to the bookstore goes up in fire, Gram’s friend and Mitzy’s lawyer and mentor, Silas, ends up in the hospital. Then a body is found in the rubble, and Jacob is the number one suspect. Of course, Mitzy is determined to clear her father to the exasperation of the sexy sheriff. Luckily, he is beginning to get used to Mitzy interfering and even helping with cases. He does have to be on his toes, though, because she’s always getting herself into dangerous situations.
These books are quick and fun reads. Each book builds on the last ones and they’ve become must-reads for me. I definitely recommend Sparks & Landmarks, as well as the other books in the series. I can’t wait for the next Mitzy Moon mystery!
I loved Sparks and Landmarks! The storytelling was fast-paced and exciting; the characters continue to grow into multifaceted, interesting people; Pin Cherry Harbor is still a charming setting; and the mystery kept me on my toes.
Sparks and Landmarks gives readers plenty of time with the winsome, eccentric, and entirely loveable supporting cast of characters: Ghost-ma, Pyewacket, Silas, and Sheriff Eric are particularly delightful. It was fun to see Mitzy have more interactions with Twiggy and Odell, as well. Mitzy’s dad has a meaty role in the story – I love their dynamic and always want to see what will happen next with them.
The mystery that lands in Mitzy’s lap starts with arson and very nearly becomes murder. The stakes are high for Mitzy because her dad is the number one suspect. She knows he is innocent – proving it is difficult and dangerous – especially when she has to rely on Ghost-ma and Pyewacket to help her save the day.
Mitzy Moon is back with her next adventure. Things are going smoothly until Mitzy goes to bingo. She’s asked to watch as only one person seems to win. Mitzy sees something off but still has no idea what is happening. Later that night the vacant building is set fire. Mitzy and Silas manage to save the book store but her father is blamed for the dead person found in the building. So Mitzy and her crew are back on the job.
I love this series. Great characters who are developing their talents. Great story line. What more could you ask for? Read it!
I have enjoyed this entire series thus far, and this book is no exception.
I felt that this book really allowed the reader to see the connection and love Mitzy shared with her family, which helps the reader relate to her on a deeper level. I also enjoyed the overall plot of the book because I found it was, yet again, interesting and fresh. Every time I read one of the books in this series, I feel like I am reading something that hasn’t been done before. That is exciting in itself because sometimes things can be overplayed and leave you longing for more. Although I would say I want more from this series, it is not because it is lacking in anything it is because I want more to read!
I think this book and series are developing in a way that keeps the reader entertained and laughing. I love the mix of humor throughout, and with the deeper attachments to the characters forming, I think this series just keeps getting better and better.
Reading this book was just like the previous 3 … cant’s stop once I got started (even if I was at work – lol), didn’t want to stop reading. Got to the end and I kept looking for more. So love this series!
This is a great new series. With each book, you learn a little more about each character. I love the humor in the book. The story draws you in and keeps you entertained until the end. It has the perfect mix of mystery and humor. I really love this series. It has a unique spin and I can’t wait to read the next one.
Trixie has done it again!! Every book improves on the previous one and the pages of this one just flew by so fast I was done before I realized it!
If you haven’t read any of Trixie’s books yet what are you waiting for? If you want humor, some romance, great characters that you love so much you forget they’re not real well look no more because this series has all that and more!
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to young adult and adult readers everywhere! Start with Fries and Alibis first as it was the first book in this series but also because you don’t want to miss a moment of any of the books in this series!
Please start now and you’ll be one of Trixie’s loyal readers as well singing her praises in this wonderful new series that won’t be able to get enough of either!
Mitzy is doing her thing again in trying to see if there is anything shady going on at the local bingo parlor and then shifting her attention to finding out who the body was that was recovered from a fire dangerously close to her own building.
Mitzy’s and Ghost Grams antics will keep you entertained throughout the book and will leave you smiling and feeling good as you leave the world behind and escape into a most wonderful new series!
I love this series and you will too so please give it a read!
Sparks and Landmarks is an incredible book. It is interesting and engaging. I could not put the book down. I love this series! I love the characters. Mitzy is wonderful. And Pyewacket is fantastic. The most amazing cat ever. The witty banter between the characters is fun and entertaining. Mizty is learning and growing in her magic abilities in this book. The mystery is complex and has so many twists. The ending is wonderful and will leave you excited for the next book. This series is one of my absolute favorites! This is a must read!
I rate Sparks and Landmarks a Paranormal Cozy Mystery by Trixie Silvertale the highest allowed that was 5 stars. Would rate it 10 if I could.
Mitzy Moon even though she thought she was a orphan is not.
She is having a unusual time in this book. Its book 4 of this series .
Mitzi is developing her supernatural powers and her learned her Dad is alive . She inherited a bookstore and pet called Pyewacjet called Pet and an assistant to the Bookstore she inherited from her Grandmother. But Grams is a Ghost and Can’t leave the bookstore.
The assistant is Twiggy and very funny and unusual. Her Dad she discovered is Jacob.
She had no dreams about the fire that burned next to her but the Sheriff is charging her Dad.
So with everyone’s help in Pin Cherry Harbor she has her hands full.
The book is so entertain and has such humor and its full of trouble and unusual happenings. You can’t put it down. This is Book 4 of The Mitzy Moon series by TRIXIE SILVERTALE AND IS AWESOME.

BEVERLY KITTS
With each new release in this series, I find a new favorite. It really does just keep getting better! From the fabulous bookstore, Bell, Book and Candle, to the feisty familiar caracal, Pyewacket, these books are full of magical detail.
Mitzy is really settling into life in Pin Cherry Harbor! She hasn’t even been arrested lately. Though when the empty building next to her bookstore burns down, an obvious arson, that may change.
She can’t keep her nose out of this investigation. Her new sixth sense alerts her to the presence of a body in the fire long before it is discovered. Then her bookstore is broken into not long after the fire. Can these two events be related? Nothing seems to be missing, so why the break in?
Mitzy’s father falls under suspicion for the arson and dead body. As an ex-con, he doesn’t have a lot going for him. It will be up to Mitzy to solve the crime and save the father she so recently met
It is so much fun to see what predicament Mitzy is going to fall into as each new book comes out. This one is off and running right from the start and would you believe that BINGO plays a big part in this book. I loved it, it was action packed, funny and very witty too. If you like a good mystery, this is one worth reading.
I love this series! It just keeps getting better and better with each book. Can’t wait for the next book.
While Mitzy is settling in nicely in almost-Canada, there’s a storm brewing – in more ways than one – and it looks like Jacob is right smack in the eye of it. All evidence is pointing otherwise, but Mitzy and Grams are determined to prove he had nothing to do with it.
As Mitzy sets about finding the proof she knows exists, she’s also learning more and more about her special powers, and she’s learning that Pyewacket has more than a few tricks up his sleeve too.
Don’t miss this latest adventure in Pin Cherry Harbor. With all the usual residents giving advice and teasing in equal measure – and a few surprise baddies with evil hi-jinks in mind – you know this is going to be another great read that is over much too soon! Good thing we know number five is in the works!
[Many thanks to the author for an Advance Reader Copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.]
Mitzy has settled well into life in Pin Cherry Harbor. Learning to drive in the snow (you use a Jeep for that, not a classic convertible!), checking out the hot sheriff, and wondering where her new beau is traveling. Not to mention learning that BINGO can be awfully competitive!
When the vacant building next to her bookstore goes up in flames, Mitzy has a vision of a dead body, but whose? This fire hits a little too close to home for Mitzy as her Ghost-ma is ‘trapped’ in the bookstore, which could have caught fire as well. As usual, Mitzy can’t stop herself from investigating, especially once her dad becomes a person of interest.
I am really enjoying this new series. All of the characters (and they really are characters) in the book are well developed. I can’t wait to see what’s up next in Pin Cherry Harbor!
What a great book!
I have come to really love the characters of this series. Mitzy of course, with her tough-as-nails attitude but with her big heart. Ghost-ma who remains such a favorite of mine. Pyewacket, the caracal, who plays a very important role, and whose powers are developing. I just love Pye! Silas who becomes more and more dear to me. Twiggy with her cackles. And Odell – gotta love Odell; I love no-nonsense people. Oh and I almost forgot Dad! The ex-con, which makes some people automatically suspicious. This is a great series and I am so glad I discovered it. This one would work fine as a standalone; the mystery stand on its own perfectly and the personal details are well explained (but not too long for series-readers).
In this book, the first case Mitzy has to solve is a case of cheating at bingo. Bingo? Yes, bingo! Of course there’s more, way more. A big fire next door, an evacuation – but what about Grams?! She’s tied to the bookstore! A fast-paced, breathtakingly suspenseful, surprising mystery that was clever and full of humor. Mitzy still has so much to learn – like people skills lol. I was so immersed in the story, that I actually thought about how I’d still have to shovel snow – in the book there’s a lot of snow, but here none. None! That’s how real it felt! Great book!!!
