This is book 4 in the Mitzy Moon Mystery series and I’m absolutely loving it!! While sleeping, Mitzy gets woken up, turns out the building right next to hers is completely engulfed and it will probably take the building her grandma left her. The one that encompasses the bookshop and her apartment upstairs. With the fire department up front, Silas shows up and they use their powers to put out the fire before her building is damaged. The only problem? Silas collapses. Taken by ambulance to the hospital to figure out what happened, Mitzy stayed behind.
She later finds out that there was a body in the burned out building and this time she’s not the suspect, her father is. The victim was a local judge, and her father had just bought the building. Vowing to figure out what happened and who killed the judge, Mitzy sets out to solve the case. This time Mitzy’s clumsiness causes her to literally fall into a mess, discover a clue (or two), and helps propel her on.
I’m still loving this series, the writing is laugh out loud funny while being able to build up tension in the right places, it keeps you reading until the end. Ghostma is a hoot, I love that she’s exercising her powers so that she’s getting stronger. If you love paranormal cozy mysteries, definitely read this series!

Mitzy Moon is on another case when a suspicious fire destroys the building next door to the bookshop and a body is discovered inside. It turns out that her father owns the building and was having a problem with the judge whose body was found in the building. Can Mitzy prove her father’s innocence without winding up in trouble herself?
I’m really enjoying this series which I am binge reading after receiving ARCs of a couple later books in the series. The book’s well-written with wonderful characters. I love how Mitzy is becoming a true member of the community and uses her newfound wealth to help others. I was hooked on this book from beginning to end and am looking forward to the next one. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order for the most enjoyment and benefit although they could be read on their own.
This was another great mystery with Mitzy and the gang. So much crazy stuff happening around Valentine’s Day. Oh how I loved the interactions between Mitzy and Erick! They are so adorable around each other! This series has great characters, plenty of humor, and a lot of heart.
It’s Valentine’s Day, but the weather is horrible out. Mitzy was hoping to have a Valentine’s date, but it seems someone else has something else in mind. Mitzy’s father is once again being framed for something he didn’t do, Mitzy has to help solve the murder before she loses her father again. Once again very entertaining story and great characters. Mitzy’s grandmother’s ghost is learning how she can help Mitzy in the human world so she is becoming a bigger presence in the plot-lines.
I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator makes the book leap off the pages. I really enjoyed this way she brings the characters to life.
All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way, I have been influenced by anyone.
Once again Mitzy is on a quest for the truth to a murder in her town to save someone she loves and this time it might end up being her own life that needs saved if she gets too close to the truth! A fire, a murder, a broken leg and a massive snow storm are all on the agenda in this book and you won’t want to miss one entertaining minute of it as the audiobook once again does not disappoint! The narrator really helps bring the characters to life and give each a unique personality that will have you laughing along with! The relationships being built among the characters is getting deeper all the time as well so you won’t want to miss this book at all! If you haven’t started this series yet, then you definitely need to get on it as you’re missing out on the fun! So far, I’ve enjoyed the first 4 books via audiobook and hope that there are more!
I love a book that still has me laughing after finished, the movie and tv reference keeps popping in my head , too funny. I really enjoy Mitzy , in this one the fire next door hits a little to close to home , Mitzy has to put her sleuthing skills to use fast to find out who really murdered the person found in the fire and set up her father to take the fall. Mitzy with her witty trademark ways is a fun character that I cant wait to see what happens next .
I received a free copy of this audio book in exchange for an honest review:
This series just gets better and better! While each book builds upon the character development of the one before, there is enough background woven into the narration to enable the reader to follow the story line without necessarily reading the entire series from the beginning.
We are beginning to see some sideline story lines develop, and Mitzy’s love life looks to be picking up. I like the new insights into Pyewacket’s abilities, and seeing Grams improve her understanding of the power at her disposal.
Coleen Marlo is still by far the best Cozy Mystery narrator I have listened to, and Trixie Silvertale has done an excellent job of keeping the story fresh and interesting through all 4 books.
Ohmygoodness. There are not enough words to describe how much I loved this book. The narrator is amazing, the story keeps you on your toes. You laugh, feel everything that Mitzi feels, and wish that she and the sheriff would just kiss already! This series is so good you won’t want to put it down, or stop listening to it. I can not wait for the next book.
Rory or Erick? My vote is for Erick. I love the laugh-out-loud moments. I also like the daddy-daughter building and the ghost-ma and granddaughter moments.
AHA!! Very good story. I love the humor in them. The danger and trying to find out who did it is fun also. I really liked the ending to this story. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Mitzi the gang have become old friends! I hate waiting for the next book! Always a fun read and addictive with characters that make you smile! I would love to have a caracal like Pyewacket! Trixie’s books are always fresh and not your run of the mill cozy. It’s a good clean fun read that keeps you on your toes! Already waiting on the next. I promise you won’t be disappointed if you get this book!
This is the best one yet, but I suspect I’ll like book 5 even more because this series just keeps getting better! Mitzy isn’t a stagnant character. She grows and changes, but she maintains her unique personality and quirkiness that makes this series so much fun. The town in “almost Canada” comes to life in each book and I feel like I’ve been visiting good friends. I can’t wait to go back!
I love this book series! This is book number 4 and each one is better than the next. While I don’t think you need to read these books as a series starting with book 1, why wouldn’t you want to?! I love that these are easy to read, funny, highly addictive and almost impossible to put down. I also like that I don’t know the ending before I get to it. Just when you think it’s going one way, it goes another. If you are looking for a great cozy mystery series, give this one a try!!
