Three years of her life are gone in an instant. Her memories of becoming a famous artist – forgotten.Of the falling out with her best friend – lost.Of her charming boyfriend – erased. The doctors tell us getting Sara back into her normal routine is what’s best for her.But what happens when she doesn’t want her old normal? Some would say I’m trying to save ghosts from my past.I think they’re wrong.… save ghosts from my past.
I think they’re wrong.
Maybe all of them are wrong.
Maybe the best thing for Sara is me.

Glad to finally read Denver’s story. I was so happy to see him open up and finally earn a spot at Engine 319! His care and compassion for Sara was remarkable! I simply adored the ending.
This book is emotional, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Awesome book!
Loved this book it was really hard to put down once you start
This book took me by surprise was not expecting the story line to be what it was. But I really enjoyed.
The start was slow but I was invested after hearing about Denver from the other books. Story picked up and ended up being my favorite of the series!
I was intrigued by Denver & hoping he would get his own story after falling in love w/ his sister, Aspen, and Sawyer in Stealing Sawyer. I’m so happy these characters continued into a new series!
This story was written in quite a unique way – part one is from Denver’s POV & part two is from Sara’s, with an epilogue from Denver’s POV as well. I loved the way that was done – getting to be exclusively inside Denver’s head for the first half of the book. I love the characters & the uniqueness of the story.
Unfortunately, this also has one of my biggest pet peeves – both Denver & Sara are with other ppl as part of the plot. Like, Sara has a fiance, and Denver tries to date someone else when he starts to have feelings for his friend who has a fiance. They both try to do the right thing because neither of them are cheaters. BUT WE STILL HAVE TO READ ABOUT THEM DATING/KISSING (no sex) other ppl! And that part of the story just did not work for me, even tho it was plotted & written very well!
Overall, I highly enjoyed the story, even w/ that pet peeve rearing its head. LOL I absolutely LOVE the way Sara recovers… And the way they build their family… SWOON! : )
The firefighter was chasing a way to overcome his fear of car accidents and begins to devote all his off time sitting with the comatose artist whose life he saved. They bond but he steps back somewhat when the artist’s fiance finally shows up. I liked the love story but was confused by the ” convict” appellation. I finally got that I had not read the first book in this series.
The characters were real and believable. Such a wonderful, inspiring story line. Not too perfect, just right. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
My wife and I both read the book and agree it is one of the most touching stories we’ve read in a long time . I highly recommend it.
The author did a fabulous job with this book. I’d recommend it to any and all who love a indepth yet realistic story. The book shows life at it’s worst and best yet not only keeps you entertained but staying glued to it to the end. It’s a great love story and it’s characters show the compassion and confusion of trying to figure things out in difficult times. Keep it up!
Love all her books.
Never knew what was going to happen in this book. Could not put it down. The characters were incredible. Awesome read!!!!!
Having had serious injuries in a car accident myself, I found this book deeply touching. There were plot twists and characters that wove the beautiful tapestry of this story. I loved it!
Love how they wanted/ needed to be together to grow
I really enjoyed this unique and emotional romance. Denver is a firefighter who is trying to overcome the tragic loss of his parents. He is feeling alone, and at a loss without much of a support system. On a call to a horrific crash he overcomes his fear and saves a woman’s life. He feels a connection with Sara as she recovers without support either. There are alot of questions about her past and present tho. When a mystery man steps forward to claim her, the questions only multiply. This was a sweet, emotional and exhilarating romance. I loved the way this story unfolded keeping me riveted from beginning to end. The narration by Teddy Hamilton, and Erin Mallon was stellar! They nailed these characters perfectly, making me feel all the fear, vulnerability, hope and love they experienced. I was completely lost in their moving performance and in Christy’s amazing and beautiful story!
4.5 Stars
I have read everything that Samantha Christy has written, and one of the things that I love about her books is that there is always a unique element to her plots. Sparking Sara is no exception.
I have been waiting for Denver’s story since he was first introduced in Igniting Ivy (well, really he was mentioned in Stealing Sawyer). He has done a great job of really trying to turn his life around after some awful things that he has gone through. I loved how protective he was of Sara, and how he helped her to move on and accept things.
While Sparking Sara is a standalone, I would recommend reading Igniting Ivy first. I love The Men on Fire series!
Omg this book will rip you apart then put you back together again.
Samantha has done it again with another fantastic book, I seriously couldn’t put it down.
Denver and Sara will take you on an epic journey, with Samantha’s writing style it is easy to get lost in their world and not want to come back.
I can’t wait to read more from her.
Another 4.5/5 for me! Only a little less than 5 because I loved a few of the other stories more. Denver is such a good guy, and I have been looking forward to his story!
Well edited.
Denver is Aspen’s brother, whom we met back in Aspen & Caden’s story. He has been cleared of the charges back in Kansas City, and has moved to New York to start new. Not only did he move, but he also changed careers. Denver has finished training for the NYFD, and is now waiting on assignment to a station. However, the car accident that took his parents has seriously impacted him. Every time the FD gets a call for a motor vehicle accident, Denver freezes up and/or gets sick. Will he ever be able to overcome his fear and move on in his new career? One MVA puts him in a car with a victim. He helps to rescue her, and when he goes to check on her, finds she really has no one to be there for her. Denver finds he is unable to leave her alone in the hospital. By the time she wakes up, Denver is invested is seeing her get better. However, when Sara wakes up, she’s lost the last three years of her life. And truthfully, when she hears what she’s been like, she really doesn’t want to remember. Slowly, the people from her past come back, including her fiance. Neither Denver nor Sara seem really sure about Oliver. But, if he loves her and she loved him doesn’t she owe it Oliver to try and get their life back? As the pieces of Sara’s life come back, will she find the answers and a life she wants? Or, will she find more questions and a desire to start anew? And when the truth finally comes, will Sara go back or embrace a future with Denver?
I adore the books and characters that populate this world. We get visits from some of characters from the past – Baylor and Gavin, Aspen and Sawyer, Caden and Murphy, Kyle Stone, Sebastian, and more. So looking forward to Brett’s story and wherever else Ms. Christy decides to take us. Enjoy!
As always, Samantha Christy once again delivers. This book has all the feels. Denver and Sara draw you in and you feel like you are right there in the middle of all the heartache, joy and love. A must read.
