NYT Bestselling Author, Michelle M. PillowMining ash on a remote planet where temperatures reach hellish degrees doesn’t leave Kal (aka Spark) much room for dating. Lucky for this hard-working man, a new corporation Galaxy Alien Mail Order Brides is ready to help him find the girl of his dreams. Does it really matter that he lied on his application and really isn’t looking for long term, but … looking for long term, but rather some fast action? Earth women better watch out. This book was funny. Kal, aka Spark, had me laughing and smirking for most of the book. He took it upon himself to enlist his cousins on a “vacation ” to earth, but it was really the maiden voyage for Galaxy Brides…and Grooms. Kal considered himself in the know due to his research, but sources matter! Carrie is the reluctant participant in her cousins wedding festivities in Vegas. She doesn’t want to be there and Kal shows up at the right time. She doesn’t understand why she can’t get him out of her head, especially since she knows he’s crazy.
If you are looking for an easy read of ridiculousness, this book may be for you. 3 stars
I received a free copy from BookSprout for my honest opinion.
This story (more of a novella) was just plain fun to read. Kal, an ash miner from the planet of Bravon, fools his two cousins into taking what they thought was a vacation from the mines to planet Earth for some R & R. They’re supposed to be looking for brides, but Kal glosses over that part.
Enter Carrie, the token family member bridesmaid at her cousin’s expensive Las Vegas wedding. Surrounded by her image-conscious and selfish cousin and her cousin’s sorority sisters in the wedding group, all she wants to do is avoid them and the groomsmen and get through the wedding. Then she meets Kal who has chosen the name Spark for this adventure. Carrie thinks he is a foreign born showman working in Las Vegas. Kal falls for her immediately and his naive, awkwardly charming and honest efforts to woo her; and Carrie’s confusion about who he is, are simply hilarious. If you like paranormal romance with fun characters, funny moments, some mystery and a bit of steam, you’ll like this story!
Spark is the first book in the Galaxy Alien Mail Order Brides series by Michelle M. Pillow.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Dragon and Var series so this is a little treat from the series but from different beings. This was a fast-paced, short, and easy read. Just a little taste of the Galaxy Alien Mail Order Brides.
Kal and his cousins went on a journey to Earth through the Galaxy Alien Mail Order Brides to find female company. They were informed that the citizens of Earth is still oblivious to outer space species, so they were told to blend in. Relaying on studying Earth through a monitor and booklets, it was not very easy to try to blend in. Thinking that names that are synonymous to the word fire was of something significance for Earth woman, Kal named himself Spark. And his cousins various words for fire.
This book was so silly and comical. It was an easy read and definitely was not what I expected. It was very entertaining.

I really liked the previous Qurilixen books that I have read. But I had a really hard time getting into this book (picked it up and put it down so many times and read 5 books in between the pick ups and put downs). The characters are good but the story seemed a little disjointed or I really wasn’t paying attention when I read it and I had to go back and reread seveal pages to figure out what/why something was happening (and still felt like I was missing something – savants/leashes). I liked Kal, Sev, and Vin’s misunderstandings of Earth. I liked Carrie but I had trouble with her cousin Missy and her entourage. If I run into a character like Missy on TV – I change the channel. It ends rather abruptly, still leaving us hanging about what is going to happen with Carrie and Kal. Hopefully, the next story answers some questions.
Overall, this worth a read but not really one of my favorites (that’s those pranking MacGregors and I still have a while to wait for their next book).
What happens in Vegas…
You’ve got to love this fish out of water story. Kal is so adorable and Carrie is clueless but also smart. Looks like the overall arch will play through the three books, but this story is worth it.
Short and ambivalent book about alien mail order brides coming to earth for some interaction with human women. The book is a goofy and simplistic in nature but I didn’t particularly care for the nonsense between Kal and Carrie.
The narration was fabulous!
I received a complimentary copy to listen to and voluntarily left a review. Two stars. Love the cover!
As always, Michelle M. Pillow did a fantastic job with this book and giving us a new series to become invested in. The characters were well written and had great chemistry. The story line was engaging. I found this book just as enjoyable to listen to as to read thanks to the narrator doing a great job. The narrator had a soothing voice that made this pleasant to listen to and did a great job adding inflection when it was needed. I can’t wait for the next book.

Cal is just a man in need of a vacation so he signs up him and his friends on the maiden voyage of a mail order bride space ship headed to earth. Armed with research from porn and Vegas shows they think they are ready to meet some girl. The misconception of their research and what woman actually want create a cute and funny story. Add in some drama from a wedding party, some gambling debts and other aliens and it makes for a quick entertaining cozy alien romance love story. Super impressed with the narrator. There were a lot of voices in this story and each had its own sound and was done very smoothly.
This a romance novella Michelle M. Pillow style. Super sexy and detailed. Spark (Kal) meets Carrie while she is on a bachelorette weekend. A happy distraction from the wedding party festivities. This book is short and easy to read or listen to. I like Carrie and the setting of Las Vegas. I need to meet one of this Aliens. This would a great short read for you steamy romance lovers.
If you need an audiobook to make you laugh, then look no further. This book has great characters, hot & sexy men, a great city for this “spin off” (which I call it), a little intrigue, and a whole lot of dialogue that will have you rolling on the floor & begging for the next book.
Spark, Flame & Blaze’s perception of Earth & Earth women is the best yet!
This story is part of the Qurilixen World Series, and the first book in the Galaxy Alien Mail-Order Brides Series. Kal (Spark) and Carrie’s story is fun, fast-paced, sexy, and entertaining. Some scenes are hilarious. Kylie Stewart does a good job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to Flame, the next book in the Series.
Quirky spin to dating aliens. I don’t read many intergalactic/alien books but in this short story we see a group of guys who travel to earth to have a fun time. The guys thoughts on what humans are like is funny and their “lies” that they give to the human females is pretty hilarious. The story was a quick read for me. I liste es to the audiobook and thought the narrator did okay. If you enjoy Insta-love books with a twist then I think you may enjoy this book.
Funny and cute short story. it all happens really fast and it would be nice to know how the 2 get on after this book. I will definitely read book 2 even if it is about another character. unfortunately i was not a big fan of the narration. It felt like someone was actually reading rather than narrating too many times for my linking. But she does have a pleasant voice nevertheless.

Audiobook review: Short, sweet, and quirky alien romance story that had me shaking my head one moment and smiling at the next. Spark and Carrie make a good and entertaining couple. The narrator did a great job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene. I received a free copy of the audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.
Well that was a fun book, l love alien stories and now l want to read more about this male order bride organisation they have going on. Well narrated in an easy to listen to voice.
Spark by Michelle M. Pillow is a Galaxy Mail Order Brides novel.
A very fun and light read, this story was absolutely cute!! Kudos to Carrie for being able to put up with her bridezilla cousin and I’m dying to know if Vin gets over his ice cream addiction!!
Looking forward to more!!
Galaxy Alien Mail Order Brides Series: Spark Is an Alien romance story where three men are on a vacation but hope to find themselves a woman to enjoy and hold on earth. This story had me laughing so loud due to the miscommunication and honesty of these gentle creatures from another planet. Once Kal sets its sights on one woman he now has to convince her he is the one for him but when she goes missing they are on the hunt to find his woman.
I was surprised to find I enjoyed this book. It was hard to get into the first chapter although I did have a few laughs while reading it.
Once I got into the book, I found I liked the characters and the premise. I’m considering buying others in this series.
So first up is Kal aka Spark and he might not be looking for a permanent relationship but pretty soon he finds himself constantly searching for one very attractive human female. Carrie is doing her duty to her somewhat irritating cousin by agreeing to be her bridesmaid in Las Vegas. She overhears a really odd conversation and pretty soon finds herself both amused by and attracted to the sweetly naive but gorgeous exotic dancer Kal. Trouble is Carrie has no idea just how different Kal really is Ok it’s quick and perhaps a bit silly but I found it a fun read
DNF 21%. I’ll pick it up again and edit my review if it becomes more palatable.
