A great start to this new series by Kathleen Kelly. I have a feeling these MacKenny Brothers are going to be on lots of book boyfriends lists. First up is Eric/Maddock and with all the secrets, drama, and his relationship starting with Cherie, this was a great introduction to this family and was a very entertaining read. I don’t want to say anything plot wise as I don’t know how to say anything without giving spoilers away so I’ll just say that I’m looking forward to seeing where the author takes this series and can’t wait for the next one. I give The Spark Ignites 4.5 stars.
I love all of Kathleen’s books, but I have to admit, this was one of my favourites. Thank you for another page-turner, I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
I LOVE Kathleen Kelly and her books. This is another cracker and a amazing start to the MacKenny Brothers Series. I can’t wait to read more
4.5 Stars! A great start to a new series where you will meet the MacKenny Brothers. Filled with secrets, suspense, drama, action and sweet hotness. Entertaining characters that hold your attention while falling for each other quickly. Eric is bossy, a charmer and a giving person. Cherie is a sassy yet sweet chick who doesn’t trust easy. But secrets and a past have a way of catching up with you as Eric finds out putting his new found relationship in danger and making him race to keep everyone he cares about safe. Can’t wait to see what else this series holds.
Wow! What an exciting start to this new book by this author. I have to admit I have been waiting patiently for her next release and it has certainly been worth the wait!
Eric, although not a big fan of small towns, finds himself living a quiet life in a just such a place without the need to socialise. That is until he meets Cherie, the granddaughter of an older man who owns an old car Eric has been working on. She has an inner strength, determination and independence that defines who she really is but at the same time is vulnerable too.
I enjoyed the crossover link between The Grinders CD and this author’s other books, a very neat tie in. The chemistry between the lead characters is quite intense and very racy! Their passionate scenes are red hot! Talk about sparks burning into a full on burning fire!
The characters are great and Eric could put his boots under my bed any day of the week! Mind you his brothers aren’t shabby either! The thing about them is that they felt ‘real’, they got angry, horny, amused and scared just like everyone does…well okay maybe they might have higher sex drives than the average Joe..who knows? Cherie tells it like it is and the fact that she stands her ground is fantastic, especially when surrounded by so many males!
When the action starts you feel yourself sitting up on the edge of your seat waiting with baited breathe to see what would happen. As each emotion plays out you go through it with the characters as if you are in the story as well, you become that invested in the story.
This is a fast paced story and super easy to read. However I will warn you you will most likely become addicted to the MacKenny brothers just like I have and now I’m wondering about my patience in regards to the next book? Please don’t leave it too long Ms. Kelly these brothers are so intriguing and hot!
I started this book late at night, which was a very welcome mistake as I couldn’t put it down once starting, and that doesn’t happen alot these days.
Absolutely blown away by this book.
From start to finish I was hooked and couldn’t believe what I was reading.
As much as I love the Savage Angels series by this author, this series is going to be a new favourite, I can see it now.
Definitely a must click, would give more stars if I could.
Had a hard time putting this one down!
Strongly recommend if you like hot bikers, bad boys, small towns / mountain town / heroines with a history of making bad choices, action, drama, corruption …

Off to devour the rest of this series.
After reading Spark of Time: MacKenny Brothers Series Book 5: an MC/Band of Brothers Romance, I absolutely had to go back and properly meet all of these characters. Getting lost in this world is turning out to be one of my favorite things. This one is Maddock & Cherie’s story and both characters are quite fun. Maddock’s hot, secretive (for good, complicated reasons I won’t spoil here) and Cherie’s got an attitude and historically, poor choice in men. I enjoy the other members of the MacKenny family and their friends, co-club members, etc. and absolutely will be devouring the rest of this series.
Great writing, real connections, small towns, plenty of enemies … it’s got it all.
4 stars.
I must admit to being a little torn on this book. Thanks settled in four stars because the storyline itself had such potential but there was something about it just in general that didn’t really resonate with me. I’m not really sure I can pin point it. I think some of it was that I didn’t care for Cherie, her character felt wishy washy to me. And I liked Maddock but not his brother Sean. I hated the way he went after his brother’s girl and it felt almost as if Cherie wanted to flirt back with him. Overall it was an okay read and may be great for someone else, just not me.
This book was just okay for me. Maddock is a great alpha male; Cherie is seemingly a good match for him … there were some great moments in the story and then some points that were dull and made me want to not continue reading. I finished it because of the moments that make you curious as to what will happen to Maddock given his circumstance and what will happen when his Brothers find out… I loved the family dynamic with them. Good read …..
