Flames almost killed this ex-firefighter. And the sparks he’s feeling now might burn what’s left of his heart.SabrinaHe was a charming S.O.B. when I dated him two years ago, but the Logan Carter who arrives at Bad@ss Builds is a shadow of the one I knew. This Logan is surly, bitter, and scarred—evidence of the fire he survived marked him both inside and out. Does he really not remember me?Logan… remember me?
Logan
I’m upright and functioning. Isn’t that enough? I shouldn’t even be alive. And I definitely don’t have time for the bubbly, gorgeous woman from my past who can do better than me.
No matter how much I wish I could be the man she remembers.

I was so excited to get Sabrina’s story! She always seemed fun to me so I couldn’t wait to dive into her snarky book. Kinda bummed that I didn’t love it as much as I wanted to. While Sabrina has always stood up for herself when it comes to her brothers that didn’t change with Logan and I loved it! But that only lasted for about five min. Logan was a giant ass and I get it he was hurting, he has issues that he has refused to work out for the last two years. What I didn’t get was how it all flipped and they are back together? It seemed to come out of no where and I didn’t understand it. I still enjoyed the story and will continue with the series.
This is the 3rd book in this awesome series and is Logan and Sabrina’s journey. Sabrina works at her cousin’s motorcycle shop and when a man shows up instal fire safety equipment, she recognises him as Logan, her ex-boyfriend, and he is now scarred and surely, and a shadow of the man he used to be. Logan just wants to get the job he is supposed to do done and get out of there. These two still have an undeniable attraction, but will he allow a 2md chance at love? This is a well written storyline which is an emotional roller coaster, and is a fun, flirty, intense, raw, gritty, humorous, emotional, and steamy page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This series hasn’t disappointed me yet. Logan and Sabrina had a lot to work through, and it didn’t help that they both ran when hurt and Sabrina had a lot hitting her at once. But they managed to make it through beautifully. I’m really loving the Burns family thus far.
Logan and Sabrina had a very steamy and romantic relationship years ago before tragedy struck both the only difference between the two was Sabrina tried hard to reach out to Logan and all Logan did was hide behind his pain and guilt. Now they are face to face with each other again, the pain is still there, but also there is hate with a touch of longing and loss. Can they help each other heal old wounds or are they doomed to be lonely and without each other forever? I loved the brothers and they way they treated Sabrina as a sister instead of cousin although Nathan flew off the handle again, he seemed to slowly reel himself back in and trying to learn from his mistakes, so I can’t wait to see what happens with him. Also, Vanessa kind of made me mad because she held to this idea that if she kept Logan around, he would want her and help keep the memory of her husband alive, but he wasn’t wanting that and Travis being mad at him for it was crappy since Vanessa set up this delusion and not Logan. Other than that, I loved Logan and Sabrina’s story even if it was heartbreaking in some moments.
This series just keeps pulling me in! I love this family!! Sabrina & Logan’s story is heartbreaking, but also has a lot of humor, and some suspense sprinkled in. The theme of their story, and the little surrounding stories w/in their romance, is forgiveness, and how saying your sorry needs to have action behind it. Love that!
Also, there are puppies! *heart eyes*
: )
Not very often can I say that an author surprised me with their story. Gillian did just that with Spark. It simply was everything you want and need in a spectacular romance book. I cannot overstate how much this book touched me. It’s exquisitely written, incredibly moving and impossible to put down. I think this is a book that will stay with me. It’s worthy of so much more than 5 stars.
Ok So somehow I missed that this book is part of a series and I seriously needed to read those ones after reading this one! This one is about Sabrina, who is technically a cousin but they treat as their sister and it’s a second chance (well technically probably a 3rd chance) love story! She is this strong woman who is going through things that you wouldn’t even know because she doesn’t want anyone to feel sorry for her or for them to be upset on her behalf. Even when she feels like she is drowning, she still manages to go and do what needs to be done. Logan went through hell and is wallowing in guilt over what happened to not only himself but losing his friend the way he did. He loves Sabrina but he doesn’t think she deserves to be stuck with whats left of him. They both have their own issues to get past and work through. Your emotions will be all over the place in this one! At one point I wanted to smack Logan upside the head but then at another point you want to cry because he is breaking your heart. And Sabrina was just the same! I was all over the place and enjoyed every minute of it!
This second chance love story of Sabrina and Logan is one emotional rollercoaster. In Sabrina’s life unexpectedly comes Logan, a boyfriend who ignored her two years ago. Logan is not the same person as he was the last time they saw each other. Not mentally and not physically but seeing Sabrina triggers changes in his life. Both Sabrina and Logan have their tragic story and there is a lot going on in there lives. Will that pull them apart or make them even stronger together? It is a truly heartbreaking story and all of us struggle differently with lost and so it is with Sabrina and Logan. I loved that I saw how are the other guys doing. And this is another interesting read from the series and we already know which of Burns brothers is the next one to fall in love.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
Sabrina Wagner works as an accountant for her cousins company, Badass Builders. Two years ago she was in a relationship with Logan Carter until he had to leave to go fight a fire and she never heard from him again.
Now 2 years later she finds herself face to face with him again in the shop but he claims he doesn’t know who she is and the once nice guy has turned into a rude and bitter guy.
Can Sabrina convince Logan of what they shared in the past or will the injuries he suffered in the fire change everything about him?
This was such a great book with so many emotional moments!
Sabrina was a great character and I liked getting to know her more in this book. I loved her loyalty to her family and how much her mom and her cousins meant to her. Yet this book also presents certain challenges for Sabrina with her family and I was shocked at everything that was revealed to her and I was also proud of her for how she handled everything.
Logan was such a jerk at the beginning and I hated how he treated Sabrina. That being said when you discover how much guilt he is carrying with him, you can understand why he believes he doesn’t deserve any happiness and how he hates how his body now looks. The guilt over Jay and then having to deal with Vanessa was tearing him up. Yet Logan never helped himself heal either and I was worried about how he was going to deal with everything.
There was still so much unfinished between Logan and Sabrina over things that happened on which they didn’t get closure for and some of it was much heavier than other parts. I was so happy when things started happening between them again but Logan needed to trust more in Sabrina and you could tell he still wasn’t there.
At a certain point everyhitng blows up in a huge way! I was so mad at the cousins for doing what they did and how Nathan completely flew off the handle and I felt horrible for Logan. Then I was so proud of what Sabrina did and then I was so mad at Logan for how he reacted to everything and my poor heart shattered for Sabrina.
It was interesting that the author brought back George Burns in this book who is the father of Sabrina’s cousins. I knew he wasn’t going to go away easy and I kind of guessed what was going to be involved and I was right but I still really enjoyed how it all played out as it made sense.
The very end mended my heart and made me do a happy dance once again!!
When Logan walks back into Sabrina’s life and pretends they never had a past she is hurt more than she expected to be. She still wants answers but if the man she thought cared for her won’t talk due to his past pain. I loved this book so much, the characters are intriguing and entertaining. This story had unexpected twists and turns. True page turner that I couldn’t put down. Highly recommended.
4.5 Stars for Spark book 3 in the Burns Bothers Series.
I missed reading book 1 in this series but that didn’t stop me enjoying Sabrina and Logan’s story if fact it left me wanting more from this family snd their friends so I will be picking that book up as soon as time permits.
Sabrina and Logan have history and now they find themselves back in the same town she needs to know what he ghosted on her 2 years ago, why he never returned her calls or text messages….
This second chance love story is not an easy one, there are twists and turns as well as a fair few bumps along the way for this couple but the road to true love can often be a difficult one and if you can get past the bumps and still be together you know you are meant to be. I love the characters and I love this authors style of writing, she makes me feel like I’m part of this group of family and friends who are sharing there love stories with us. I can’t wait to read book 1 and then I look forward to book 4 which I really hope is Logan’s best friends story.
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher through NetGalley
This is a second chance romance with a wounded hero, some angst, a little wit, and some very HAWT times. This couple sizzled across the pages. The pacing was perfect, the story moving constantly and the addition of amazing secondary characters added to its charm.
I absolutely love this series! I’ve been waiting for Sabrina’s story and I was not disappointed.
Be careful of this one as you read it because it will cause a slow burn becoming hot. This also is a second chance so that adds to the burn. Sabrina and Logan give us a run with this one. I do sometimes though get a bit tired of the low esteem regardless of circumstances only because most times they are better than that. They both got to let go of past and start with now. Anyways we go with them on this journey stirring emotions in them and us. Lies will come to light with truth. Gotta have that drama. Danger comes in and makes some take a stand. Good escape for a night.
4.5 Stars
I love this series a lot and this book was a great installment to the series. It has so much emotion. It pours off the pages. I love a good second chance romance. I could hardly put this one down. Sabrina and Logan pull you right into the book. They both get the tears flowing out of me. There is also plenty of feels. I love the Burn brothers and it made me happy to see Sabrina get a HEA. I would highly recommend this one. Trust me you’re easily going to get lost in the story. Right now everyone is looking for a place to forget everything and this is the perfect book to do that
A few years back I started reading Gillian Archer’s MC series but it disappeared from my radar and I could kick myself because the other day when I finished reading Build, Fast and Spark back to back, the first thing I thought was “man, how stupid am I that I haven’t keep track of this author”!!
I think the best part of this story is that it isn’t just a second chance for Sabrina and Logan to get it right together, but also a story of both Sabrina and Logan coming out of their pasts/circumstances and living life! I’d give you tons of details about that if I could but you know what I’m gonna say lol why buy the book if I tell you all the whys of it all? *shrug*
Here’s what I can tell you, this story, actually all three books, captivated me and held my heart in different ways. I was rooting for them from the beginning. They’re not overly dramatic or angsty but feel true to life. The story of Sabrina and Logan was passionate and emotional. From what you read in the blurb, you’re going to automatically assume that the heavy stuff comes from Logan …. Well, Sabrina gives him a run for his money in that department. I was stupidly stunned at how emotional yet not heavy this story turned out to be. It was glorious. I enjoyed this very much and I hope I continue to see a lot more from this author in the future!
I really enjoyed SPARK, the third book in Gillian Archer’s Burns Brothers series. A second chance romance with a take-no-crap heroine and a broken, walled-off hero, it was a really good read.
Sabrina & Logan’s time together had been short lived before he left for work and she never heard from him again. This was a couple who should have been together from the outset, so his reasons for not getting in touch had to be pretty serious….. especially as he broke something inside of her in the process.
There was a lot going on in this story, not only did Sabrina come face to face with the one guy she’d felt so much for, secrets and lies from her own life come tumbling out and then she finds out exactly why Logan cut her off and ignored her as he had.
I’m loving the Burns siblings and I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series.
Filled with emotional turmoil! With book three in her Burns Brothers series Gillian Archer brings us yet another heart-wrenching story with SPARK. The characters are well developed and various bits of drama make for an action packed story filled with emotions, heart and a whole lot of love. Loved it!
Sabrina wrangles her wild-man brothers on a daily basis so not much phases her anymore, but when the “one that got away” walks back into her life and pretends he doesn’t know her, she’s fit to be tied!
Logan so easily wraps himself around a reader’s heart. He’s surly and bitter in the beginning, but as he begins to accept love and heal, he becomes a better man than even he thought he could be.
I highly recommend this story as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys drama, alpha men and happily ever afters being developed with a close-knit family behind them.
Archer reeled me in with a heartbreaker of a bad boy and a spitfire of a heroine. Spark is all kinds of combustible. Sabrina and Logan bounce flames of of each other that will easily set the heart on fire. Logan is a wounded alpha with the scars to prove it. He has quite a bit to answer for when it comes to his previous behavior told Sabrina. Sabrina offered him her heart, but received nothing in return. Fast forward two years and one almost tragedy and Logan comes face to face with his unpleasant past. Could he have finally gotten the message when it comes to life and pride? Step into a world where the temperature rises with ever page you turn. Spark pushes buttons when it comes to emotions and scored a perfect 10.
Spark is a second chance romance that is emotional, angsty and drama filled. Logan and Sabrina will at times frustrate you as these two don’t confess what lies deep in their hearts. Two people who have internal scars that can only be healed by using the strength from the other to hold them up. Their story is passionate, heartfelt and will at times have you choked up under the overwhelming emotions that these characters will evoke from you.
I enjoy this series so much. My only upset is that the books are so far apart.
Sabrina and Logan just started dating when Logan left to fight wildfires and things were never the same again. Sabrina didn’t hear from him again, and Logan lost one of his best friends in that fire and his life changed forever. He never contacted Sabrina again and never spoke to her again.
Until he walked into the Burns garage and comes face to face with her. What he didn’t expect was for all the old feelings to come back again.
Sabrina thought that she and Logan had something, but then he left and she never heard from him again. Now he’s back and he pretends like he doesn’t know who she is? How will she cope with this. She can’t go through this again…
I really enjoy this series. My heart was so sore for both these characters. Both of them hurting in their own way, and dealing with it in their own way. One through anger and frustration and the other coming across as a big jerk. Definitely one of those stories you wouldn’t want to miss out reading.
