STANDALONE ROCK STAR SECOND CHANCE ROMANCEFrom New York Times Bestselling Author, S.L. Scott, comes a new book that will introduce you to rock stars with heart and soul as well as revisit with some favorites from The Resistance. One break is all The Crow Brothers need and we’re about to get it. Johnny Outlaw, rock legend and lead singer of The Resistance, is here to watch us play. But he’s not the … watch us play. But he’s not the only familiar face in the crowd—killer little body, heart-shaped face, and drop-dead gorgeous.
Hannah Nichols sitting at the bar makes it hard to concentrate, sparks already reigniting. The beauty was never a groupie and tonight she’s not here to catch our show. She came to drop a bomb. “You have a son.”
She underestimated me. I’ll prove to my son, and her, that I can be the dad he needs.
What is it about musicians? Why are they so damn sexy?
My heart was Jet Crow’s the moment he opened his sexy mouth and sang that first song. One stolen night with that man would never be enough, but I’m not here to fall into his bed. Again. I’m here to fight for custody of a son he’s never known.
There’s just one problem. Those sparks between us have become flames. If we’re not careful we’re both going to get burned.

Spark
By: S.L. Scott
Narrated by: Sebastian York, Ava Erickson
I love Rock ’n Roll romance stories and S.L. Scott does not disappoint with “Spark”. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and held it to the very end. The storylines are original, well written and well told. The characters are likable and realistic. The Crow Brothers are a band made up of, yes, brothers who are rising in fame. This is Jet’s story, the eldest of the Crow Brothers and what a story it is. Hannah, a one night stand, who he could not get out of his head returns with news that he has a son. I loved how accepting Jet was of Alfie, also loved the chemistry between him and Hannah, it is on fire, the title is spot on with spark! S.L. Scott offers a lot in this book, some laughs, heartfelt moments, some drama, angst, twists and romance. Thank you for this great story, I am looking forward to the Brothers stories. I sure hope they become available on Audible soon.
I listened to the Audible edition, Sebastian York and Ava Ericsson are awesome narrators & storytellers! They are talented voice performers and bring the characters to life, giving them heart and attitude. Thank you for another great listen!!
Thank you AudiobookObsession
This was my first S.L. Scott’s book, and won’t be the last. This is the first book in The Crow Brothers Series, and also a spin off of the Hard to Resist Series. I haven’t read this Series, but I would love to. I love The Crow Brothers! This story, beautifully written, has it all to like it: Rock Star, Second Chance and Single Dad! The main characters, Jet and Hannah are great, and they share a strong chemistry. Alex, Jet’s son, is so cute! Now, I can’t wait for the next books in the Series, Tulsa, Rivers, and Ridge’s stories. The narration was really well done, as always with Sebastian York and Ava Erickson! I really enjoyed my listening. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
*4-4,5 stars*
I am really liking the new series by S.L. Scott; the Crow brothers are the new band on the rise 🙂 Definitely another great read by this author and I can’t wait to read the next one in this series!
Jet and Hannah have a one night stand that neither think will ever become something more but when months later Hannah is back to tell Jet he has a son, he’ll do whatever it takes to step up and be the father his son needs. Even though Hannah’s cousin is no longer here, her wish was for Alfie to get to know his father. But things aren’t as easy as it seems and when the custody battle begins, both Jet and Hannah will be on opposite sides but are they really?… Secrets from the past will come out and in the end, maybe just maybe, they both will have what they both really wanted…
*** 4.5 Stars ***
Spark by S.L. Scott is a second chance, contemporary, rockstar romance told in dual POV. This is the first book that I’ve read by the author and I was not all disappointed. The story was different than what I expected in such a wonderfully surprising way.
Up-and-coming rockstar, Jet Crow’s life is turned upside down when Hannah, a former one night stand, arrives with news that he has a six-year-old son that he never knew about. All she wants is for him to sign over his rights so that she can be on her way, but Jet is not the type of man to shirk his responsibilities. He wants to get to know his son and now that Hannah’s back, he’s not about to let her walk out of his life again.
Can a rocker on the rise be a good father? Can Hannah trust Jet enough to let him try? Can the three of them become a family? You’ll have to read to find out.
I loved Jet and Hannah’s story. It was heartfelt, sweet, emotional and sexy. I enjoyed the witty banter between brothers too. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the Crow Brothers books.
Wishing for 4.5/5. Really enjoyed Jet and the Crow brothers, as well as getting to see The Resistance band members again.
Well edited.
Jet Crow and his brothers are reaching for their dream. They play consistently throughout Austin, hoping to take their band big. Along the way, Jet has a wonderful night in the arms of a stranger. Months later, the band find themselves playing in front of Johnny Outlaw. Things seem to go well, and the same night, Jet sees the beautiful stranger again. Only this time, she has a name and a bombshell. Hannah has come to tell Jet that he has a son, and that she would really like for him to sign custody over to her. To say that Jet is shocked is an understatement. To find out he has a son, that he has missed several years of his son’s life, and that he is the sole living parent is an awful lot to process in one night. But much to Hannah’s surprise, Jet steps up to fight for his son. As Jet gets to know his son, he also gets to know Hannah, who has helped to care for Alfie for years. And to add to the pressure, Johnny Outlaw wants to sign Jet’s band to his production company. So many things are changing in Jet’s life. How will he handle being a father? Will he want to remain a part of his son’s life? How will Hannah fit into the new normal? And, what will happen to the fledgling family ties as Jet’s career finally begins to soar?
I really loved the fact that Jet stepped right up when he found out about his son. The brothers are wonderful together – supporting each other, encouraging each other, and loving each other fiercely. Great family ties. Looking forward to Tulsa and River’s stories. And maybe, a few more as the band family expands. Enjoy!
Fate had different intentions, when Hannah Nichols and Jet Crow came together for a one-night stand. Sparks had flown between them. Jet had pleaded with her to stay, but even though Hannah wanted to with all of her being, she was really in a bad place. So they said good-bye and thought they would never see each other again.
Six months of silence from Hannah had given Jet the distance to let her go. “Hannah!” He had only gotten the one name out of her. But there she is! Sitting at the bar and listening to the Crow Brother’s band play. He approaches her cautiously hoping to get more then the one night. It was the best time he had ever had! This time he does get a last name “Nichols.” He also gets the shock of his life when she announces that she is there because of Cassie Barnett. Just hearing the name after all these years is sobering. It was a short-lived love story. The thing that just changed his life forever is when she next says, “You have a son.”
The shocks keep on coming. Cassie has passed away. Cassie is Hannah’s cousin. They are living with Cassie’s mother (whom always hated Jet) and Hannah wanted him to sign away his rights, so she could have sole custody. Just finding out for the first time that he had a six-year-old son, there is no way that he would do that. This isn’t a deal to close, but a life to discuss. Hannah is surprised that Jet is taking the moral high ground. She has been told by the wicked Aunt that he had abandoned a pregnant Cassie, but the Jet she knew didn’t really act like he was described.
Family means everything to Jet. He had to take responsibility at a young age for his two younger brothers: Tulsa Crow and Rivers Crow. His mother had passed away. He wanted to meet his son in person. If he was a Crow, that was enough for him. One look and he knew. The Crow genes are strong. When Alfred Jet Barnett flew from the arms of Hannah into his own, Jet knew he would never let him go. And if he could somehow work a miracle, keep Hannah, too!
Book one in the Crow Brothers series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Full length told in dual POV with HEA. This book is about Jett Crow the oldest of the Crow brothers. The Crow brothers are a local band on the verge of getting signed. I loved Jett!! He knew once he met Hannah that she was it for him. Hannah also fell hard for Jett, but she had a lot of family responsibilities and past hurt to overcome. Jett is the perfect book boyfriend! I can’t wait to read about the other brothers next!
She did it again. S.L. Scott and all her damn pretty words.
I am struggling to put my review into words. I am seriously suffering from a book hangover on this one. This is caused by the very real effect when you find yourself surrounded by and falling for the Crow brothers, also known as #TheCrowEffect.
“There’s no being careful when it comes to love. You’re either willing to fall in the moment or the opportunity passes you by. What will you do, wildflower?”
Where do I start? This book was so very good. Well written, the story-line made my emotions run wild, and the characters had more layers than an onion. SOOOO GOOODDDD!
Jet made me swoon and to be honest, made me want to drop my panties.
“Are you going to let her get away?” “Not a chance.”
Hannah was so sweet and had so much love in her. She truly was a weed that grew up through the cracks of a cement sidewalk. Her family was awful to her, but finally found her knight in shining armor.
“With him, I’m happy. With him, I am enough. With him, I am home.”
Oh and Alfie. Sweet, smart and so wise beyond his years. My heart ached for this little boy who lost his mama way to soon, but was so loved by everyone who met him.
I laughed at Tulsa’s antics. Swooned with the way Jet loved Hannah. Cried at the tattoo shop scene and felt utter happiness when I got to the end.
“We’re what legends are made of, written in the stars for all time.”
Gah and this is only the first book in the series! I am in so much trouble with these boys. Tulsa is my man and I can’t wait for his book and am completely intrigued by Rivers and what his story is with his mystery girl. Get this book (only 99 pennies right now) and get sucked in to #TheCrowEffect!
I enjoyed losing myself within the pages of this book. Hannah and Jet’s strength, determination and ability to endure hardships moved me. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Definitely a spark from the beginning, but the past holds secrets. If you’re looking for a sexy rockstar that is totally swoon worthy this is a read for you. Dirty talking, angst, twist and turns, and more will keep you hooked until the end. Cameo appearances is just icing on the cake.
I’m not surprised that I absolutely loved Spark, considering it’s written by SL Scott, and she has never, ever let me down before. But, I am surprised at how amazingingly sweet this rockstar romance turned out to be. It’s not just sweet, though, it’s sexy and a little emotional and Jet and Hannah are beautiful souls, both individually and as a couple, a strong, amazing couple.
Jet and Hannah have one hot night together but she walks away because her life is more than a little busy and complicated, too busy and complicated for the trials and tribulations a relationship with a budding rockstar might bring. But when she walks back into Jet’s life 6 months later with an agenda, will Jet give her what she’s asking for or will he demand the right to know his son? The son he didn’t know about. The son whose mother is Hannah’s deceased cousin?
Yikes, right? But in SL Scott’s deft hands, Spark never goes off the rails into soap land. It stays firmly where the best romances reside, with lots of strength and character development exhibited by both our leads. I think that’s what I love most about Spark. It may be a rockstar romance, but it’s not all sex, drugs and rock n roll. It’s got heart, it’s not all flash and lust, although it’s definitely sexy. It’s a story about 2 people finding a kindred soul in each other, all the while struggling to do what’s best for their amazing little boy. And let me tell you – Alfie, said little boy, steals the show in every scene he appears!
If you like your rockstar romances with heart, 1-click Spark today. You will not regret it because Spark is sweet and sexy and full of depth.
I love Hannah & Jett! This book introduces us to the Crow Brothers and brings us back into the world of The Resistance. I loved it! The Resistance books have stuck with me so I was thrilled to see them again. Alfie is adorable. The women are never weak in S.L.’s books and Hannah is strong and beautiful just like the rest. I can’t wait for the rest of their stories & revisiting all these characters!!
Jet Crow is on the precipice of getting everything he ever wanted with his band The Crow Brothers. Then in walks Hannah Nichols a hot woman whose body promises sin, so he gives in and gives them a night to remember. She walks out of his life and then six weeks later she blows his world apart with news that will change everything. I have a six year old son, one I never knew about. The lies and secrets that have told about me may cost me Hannah but I will do everything to fight for my boy. Torn between what she has been told about Jet and what her heart feels, she might break apart. What started as a spark may burn them all down. I loved, loved, loved this book and story. The relationship between Jet, Hannah and Alfie was so special. I loved River and Tulsa Crow too, they are wonderful uncles. I can’t wait to read their books next. Well done!!! Definitely a must read.
I absolutely fell in love with Jet and Hannah. Jet is a music lover that performs songs from the heart in a band with his brothers. A chance meeting with Hannah turns his world upside down. From their first night together, their incredible story develops from a strong sense of belonging to each other. Hot and steamy describes the sex between these lovers as they grow together as a couple and as a family. Let Jet and Hannah take you on a journey into their forever.
Stay is the word Jet Crow says to Hannah Nichols after their one night of perfect passion. Stay is also the word that came to mind when I thought about my reading experience with SPARK. The storyline is immediately captivating from the steamy opening scene.
Jet and Hannah each travel a path destined to end in a collison of monumental prortions. The path that each has taken independently, was rugged and frought with dangerous turns and inescapable hazards. Each has had to step up and take the lead in caring for beloved family members. On the night they take a moment for themselves, a connection is made that cannot be severed despite their determined efforts. Their kind hearts and caring natures make for a perfect pairing even if the circumstances are not ideal.
S.L. Scott has created some complex and memorable characters while integrating some well-loved favorites from her previous books. The mix sets the stage for an enticing new atmosphere and a new set of stories that will have both Crow Brothers as well as The Resitance fans eager and impatient to read.
SPARK reels one in with a simmering passionate opener and then makes one stay to unravel the the mystery of its dark entangled roots. This story makes one choose sides and root for the good to overcome the evil that resides in the hearts of some of the characters involved. It is as heartwarming as it is heartbreaking. The balance between the two forces is fueled by hope the result is quite frankly, beautiful.
I LOVED this story! First of all, the prologue was H.O.T. It was steamy and sensual. Two people connecting on an intimate and emotional level…..
“It only takes a spark to start a fire.”
Jet Crow is lead singer for The Crow Brothers band. He shares a night of passion with Hannah Nichols. But it is more than just a physical connection between them. Jet craves more of her. He wants to know her, her mind, her thoughts, her sadness. But one night is all he gets before she slips away….
Hannah Nichols never imagined that the one night that she took for herself – to get away from the stress that was crushing her – to loose herself in this beautiful man, would change her future. She never realized that their lives would be woven together in a way that she thinks is wrong, but feels so right. Jet Crow, the man that she shared such an intense, intimate night with is connected to her in a complicated way.
“I’m a musician, I’m well aware that timing is everything or the whole rhythm is off. Doesn’t matter what happened between us before. All that matters is that we’re a song gone wrong.”
This is a story about love and loss, secrets and struggles. It is beautifully written. I was hooked from the beginning. The story had a few layers to it which were slowly peeled away. I must say that I have been gushing about this story as I have been reading it.
Jet is amazing. He is kind, thoughtful and giving. Well, he is also smoking hot! I loved Hannah because of her ability to love. Her life has been filled with so much sadness and yet she still gives and gives.
“If I can’t bring down your walls, I’ll climb them to prove you are worth the effort. To me, you are worth everything.”
If you have read ‘The Resistance’ then you will recognize many characters that are present throughout the story. I finished with a warm feeling in my heart. I look forward to reading the next book, Rivers!
“I used to worry about getting burned. Now I realize that I’m the one who handed him the match because Jet Crow ignites my soul on fire. ”
5 stars!!!!
5 PHENOMENAL SPARK STARS!! This story is burning up the charts as one of my favorite books. Talk about an emotional ride with all the feels, this story has it all. The characters are phenomenal, Jet, Hannah and Alfie will take you on a beautiful ride. S.L. Scott writes with so much heart and you fall in love with the characters as if they were family. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
S.L. Scott has become one of my go to authors. Her stories are always different and fill my craving for an all encompassing love.
Reading Jet and Hannah’s story made me smile, but most of all, it made me reflect on my past experiences and my current reality. Made me feel really good and proud over my own choices in life and I totally connected with her fierceness to protect Alfie above all else.
Love of family, pain of loss, guilt and sacrifice are all emotions Hannah deals with along with her growing feelings for Jet. Their journey to each other may have been coincidence or it may have been fate. I choose fate as they are perfect for each other, both putting family first while loving and supporting each other. Jet’s love for Hannah made me gasp, made me grab my heart at his swoony words. Their commitment to each other, their honesty, and their openness was refreshing and their words to each other are what beautiful romances are made of.
Spark was a beautiful story of love, both romantic and of family and although we don’t all luck-out and have a gorgeous musician fall in love with us, the rest of the story is swimming with reality and well worth the read.
Yes, this is a rock star romance but it is also so much more – a steamy and complicated story between Jet and Hannah filled with suspense and drama. I found it to be very emotional at times and definitely keep me turning those pages. A very well written story about very intriguing characters and their lives. A story that I would highly recommend reading.
Oh how I have missed this world!!
The Resistance was my first book by SL Scott and I have devoured everything since. She never ceases to amaze me with her storytelling ability.
Spark is a second chance romance full of surprise twists, hot lovin, and rock & roll.
Jet Crow is the oldest of three brothers in a hot new up and coming band. Since his mother passed he has stepped up to take responsibility of his family and their future. Hannah is the fierce beautiful woman who caught his eye and after their night together, its no wonder where the title came from (yowza). You know it only takes a little bit of friction to make that spark turn into a flame and Jet and Hannah light the pages on fire.
Granted when they meet again it’s under entirely different circumstances but they both shine in showing who they are and where they stand in their situation. I love that we don’t immediately jump into a HEA (and aren’t even sure we are going to get one). The story takes a few twists and turns that keep us on our toes and make us chew our fingernails, but it’s all worth it in the end. We even get a little Outlaw action just in case you missed him.
Spark is one of my favorite reads so far this year and I can’t wait to see where SL Scott will take us next.
