STANDALONE ROCK STAR SECOND CHANCE ROMANCEFrom New York Times Bestselling Author, S.L. Scott, comes a new book that will introduce you to rock stars with heart and soul as well as revisit with some favorites from The Resistance. One break is all The Crow Brothers need and we’re about to get it. Johnny Outlaw, rock legend and lead singer of The Resistance, is here to watch us play. But he’s not the … watch us play. But he’s not the only familiar face in the crowd—killer little body, heart-shaped face, and drop-dead gorgeous.
Hannah Nichols sitting at the bar makes it hard to concentrate, sparks already reigniting. The beauty was never a groupie and tonight she’s not here to catch our show. She came to drop a bomb. “You have a son.”
She underestimated me. I’ll prove to my son, and her, that I can be the dad he needs.
What is it about musicians? Why are they so damn sexy?
My heart was Jet Crow’s the moment he opened his sexy mouth and sang that first song. One stolen night with that man would never be enough, but I’m not here to fall into his bed. Again. I’m here to fight for custody of a son he’s never known.
There’s just one problem. Those sparks between us have become flames. If we’re not careful we’re both going to get burned.

I am SO in love with Jet Crow! That man was beautiful inside and out. So honorable, kind – a man who knows how to care for and fight for those he loves. *le sigh* He was so dreamy from the very first moment he appeared on those pages.
The way he handled the situations with his band’s new mentorship/label signing; new familial responsibilities and the woman that changed his world in an instant. His dedication to his family was admirable. Being the oldest Crow brother, he’d already proven he sacrifice anything for family. The man was practically a saint in how graceful he handled it all. Gah! I want him for myself.
Hannah was an incredible heroine. Longing for the love from her own family, Alfie is her life and she learns quickly that Jet is nothing close to what she was told he’d be like. Happenstance brought them back together after an incredible night that sparked so much between them. She was strong and loving and just wants to make sure Alfie is cared for and loved…what she always wanted from her family.
This is one of those books where I find myself kicking my butt for not reading this author’s work before. Another instance where my addict/hoarder ways has one-clicked so many of S.L. Scott’s books but have yet to read them. Gah! Meeting The Resistance guys has me now downloading those books from my cloud to my kindle so I can get their stories.
I’m now a new, full blown fan of S.L. Scott and will never hesitate to read her books again. I already have so many to binge on and I’m getting on that right now. I can’t wait to read Tulsa and Rivers’ stories! Those Crow Bros ate so sweet, funny and oh so sexy!
An engaging, not-your-typical rockstar story
A spin-off from the Hard to Resist series, this is my first read by this author, though she’s been on my TBR for a while now. Readers of the previous series would probably have been drawn into the story quickly by an early appearance of a main character from that series, but it started a little slow for me. Other than that, even though the Hard to Resist crew has a fairly large role in this story, I didn’t feel like I was missing anything by not having read the previous series, and it didn’t take long before I was pulled in.
I loved Jet! Loved how into his music he was, how he was happy as long he could be making that music, loved how he had his head on straight and wasn’t obsessed with hitting the big time at the cost of everything else. I also loved how he took over responsibility for his brothers and so it wasn’t surprising how willing he was to step up when he finds out he has a son. Speaking of, I REALLY loved how Jet was with Alfie! I was slower to warm up to Hannah; yes, family is important but when you have personal experience that a family member is cold and mean-spirited, you take what that person says with a large dose of skepticism. I thought she should have been more willing to give Jet the benefit of the doubt and when she didn’t, it made me not like her very much–I guess I’m just a lot less forgiving than Jet, lol. She did win me over, eventually, though, as she had good reasons not to trust musicians.
I liked the set-up here; it had plenty of opportunities to advance the story which the author made good use of, and the storyline had twists I didn’t see coming. Lots of great secondary characters as well, as beside the crew from Hard to Resist there were Jet’s brothers–I’m so looking forward to reading their stories. As for Aunt Eileen, though–she was definitely in the love-to-hate category.
An engaging, not-your-typical rockstar story, with a wonderful, grounded hero. 4.5 stars

Five massive stars! Who wants a Charming Prince when you can have Jet Crow.
Dear god of the sexy and sinful rock stars please has mercy of this sweet girl because S.L. Scott has done it again! She has delivered a mind-blowing masterpiece. Spark is a stunning Rock Star Romance that left me craving more. I devoured this book in one sitting. I have the most pleasurable time while I read this book. I was hooked from the first chapter. The plot is refreshing and original. The pace is fast and the storyline is well developed. Prepare yourself for an intense reading where the main character is a cocky and handsome rock star. Jet Crow has ruined me in the sweetest way possible!
S.L. Scott never disappoints her readers; she always put her heart in every book she writes. Her male characters are from other world and each one will ruin you in a different way. This time she gifted us Jet Crow, the oldest of the Crow brothers. He is hot as hell, possessive and sweet.
This book reminds me why I love Rock Star Romances. It is about the fame and the adrenaline but also about the male who is the dream of any girl. Jet Crow is intense and so handsome. His soul is his music. Sharing a night with a sexy siren will change him forever. Hannah is not going to be like the other women who have been in his bed. She is different. They shared a special connection. The attraction between them is unbearable and so strong.
Hannah is a brave and beautiful woman. She has a heartbreaking past where her family didn’t support her. In spite of everything, she overcame what hurt her so much. Losing her cousin means she will take care of her son: a sweet little boy who has never met his father. Being responsible of a little kid was not in her agenda but she is a fixer. She will give her life in order to protect Alfie’s well-being. Sharing a night with Jet will totally turn her world upside down because he is Alfie’s dad. He is the man who abandoned her cousin. Time was wrong but fate will seal their future.
Falling again for a musician was not in her plans. She will not make the same mistake. She will build a strong wall to protect her damage heart and broken soul. Only Jet will be able to brake it with patience and understanding.
I love everything about this book. Spark is a piece of heaven in earth. It is a marvellous book that will leave you breathless and wanting more. The characters are wonderful. The heroine is a fierce woman and a bit stubborn. This is not the typical story where a groupie falls for the rock star. This book is about second chances, love, sex, music and parenthood. There is no cliché inside. If you have a soft spot for sinful rock stars, Spark is your kind of book.
I highly recommend you this book. Five stars are not enough to rate this book, it deserves millions of stars. Who wants a Charming Prince when you can have Jet Crow: cocky rock star at night and sweet daddy at day.

“Playing her body with my tongue like my fingers play my guitar, I set her on fire, feeling the burn deep inside.”
Let me rephrase this quote: Suzie plays our hearts and minds with her words, like a rock-god plays his guitar with his fingers.
*sigh* I start to think that Suzie writes the most perfect boyfriends ever! Again she delivers with Jet a rockstar you fall on your knees for. I’m still swooning.
“My name was a curse, a blessing, a sin, a saint. I became all those as she became one thing to me – my salvation.”
Spark is an intense story about overcoming loss, finding a way back to yourself, falling in love and finding your happiness all in the same place. The fact that Jet and his brothers are a rockband and finally get their well deserved label contract is just the cream on top.
“We’re what legends are made of, written in the stars for all time.”
Hannah is smart gorgeous, strong, independent, feisty. Beautiful inside out. She came a long way enduring a childhood with a cold heartened father and aunt always thinking she was trouble and not good enough. Her last boyfriend almost broke her. But instead of letting herself break, she became stronger, even though she only realized what she became as Jet came around and showed her the way to her awesome self.
“What does forever taste like?” “It tastes like you, Hannah. Wildflower and cinnamon.”
Jet is kind, generous, attentive, caring, hot as hell and the biggest heart ever. He’s down to hearth and gives everything for the people he loves. He’s got an extraordinary bond with his brothers and lives for the music, until Hannah and Alfie came around. He’s great in finding the perfect balance between the two worlds that became his family, home and love.
“As I pay homage to the blissful perfection of this connection, I know it’s just the sex. That was just the spark that kindled the flame. Together, we’re a full blown blaze.”
Alfie is fantastic. He’s such a great kid. He’s way ahead of his age while dealing with the loss of his mother and adapting to all the big changes around him. Every time he was around I couldn’t help myself but smile. His positive energy sprang right out of the book into my heart.
“With him, I’m happy. With him, I am enough. With him, I am home.”
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is a story about 2 people who were meant to be but didn’t think it would work out. It started out as a one night stand but it ended up being so much more. Just not in the way that you would expect.
Jet Crow is the oldest of the 3 Crow brothers and also the lead in their band the Crow Brothers. He has had to grow up fast when he ended up having to take care of his 2 younger brothers when he was only 19 years old. Jet is such a great guy who would put his family first and it shows in his actions. Jet sees Hannah in the crowd when the band was performing one night and felt and instant attraction. Hannah feels the same and they ended up at Jet’s house after the performance. Jet realizes that he feels more for Hannah than just a physical attraction but it seems that Hannah doesn’t want to get more involved than a one night stand.
A few months later, Hannah seeks Jet out for a different reason than Jet thought and gives Jet some shocking news. Jet is all for the new challenges which Hannah is surprised but will give it a chance. Hannah and Jet’s lives get more intertwined as they spend time together helping each other out and Hannah realizes that she is following for Jet. Jet already knew his feelings for Hannah are very deep but he has to figure out what the future holds for him and his family. Hannah also has her own struggles in dealing with issues from her past and her issues with her family.
Hannah sees Jet is not the person that she has been told by her Aunt and realizes that he is so much more. His love for his family is evident and he has a good heart. Hannah wants to be with and help him with his family. Jet works to help Hannah through her issues with her past, her family and her self image/self esteem. As Jet and Hannah move along with their relationship, Jet and his brothers’ are also recording their first album with the help of Johnny Outlaw of The Resistance, Jet and his brothers get to realize a dream that they thought might or might not happen. This is a big opportunity for everyone that will help the entire Crow family.
I first discover Ms. Scott when I read Savage and I’ve been a fan ever since. This series is different from the Kingswood series but it is just as entertaining and exciting to read. I can’t wait to read more about the other Crow brothers and find out more about what’s happening with Jet, Hannah and his family!
“If I can’t bring down your walls, I’ll climb them.”
As anyone who’s read my reviews knows, I’m a rockstar romance addict. I’ll read an author I’ve never heard of if I see a guitar on a cover. But this time, I admit I didn’t even read the synopsis first, so I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that Spark was about The Crow Brothers, a rock band. I had to check my calendar to make sure it wasn’t my birthday.
Another thing I can’t resist is broken characters. I want to read something that pulls my emotions out and stomps on them, making me feel the full range. And that’s something that this author never fails to accomplish. So I should have expected the unexpected, right? But, I got caught up in the drama and the passion and the sweetness and the music… and the rockstars. I was busy mentally matchmaking and designing my #CrowBroBabe t-shirt when things took a turn.
I love how the story starts with Jet learning he’s a father. It just leaves the door wide open for so many possibilities and my imagination took flight. I couldn’t wait to have my questions answered and I was beside myself with impatience, tempted to take a blowtorch to that spark and turn it into an inferno.
I wish I could lay it all out for you, but there’s not much I can say outside of what the synopsis already disclosed. I can tell you that I met Jet’s son and it was love-at-first-sight. Yes, I saw him. Don’t you see the characters you read about? He is adorable and when you put him with a sexy rocker you can expect your ovaries to explode. So it’s a good thing I have a fire extinguisher to go with my blowtorch, right?
I can’t find words to tell you how much I enjoyed this story, and I can’t tell you all the details, so I’ll just leave you with a few hashtags. #CrowBro #Stay #WildflowerAndCinnamon #BeautifulAndBrave #theBIGencompassingYOU I’m sooo glad that this is a series and that there are more Crow brothers to look forward to. I can’t wait! The line forms here…
I loved Jet and Hannah’s complicated love story and it was only made better by one sweet little boy. Alfie stole my heart. Jet definitely got my heart racing. Is there anything sexier than a guy who loves his kid? An entertaining read.
Loved Jet & Hannah’s story. Can’t wait for the next 3 Crow Brothers stories. Excellent Narration by Ava Erickson & Sebastian York.
Jet is the lead singer and guitarist for the Crow Brothers band. One night when playing a local bar he sees Hannah in the crowd and they end up spending the night together. Both felt an instant connection. Jet didn’t want her to leave the next morning, wanted to see where things could go between them. But the sadness in her eyes that drew him in was the driving reason why Hannah couldn’t say yes. She had to leave even though she didn’t want to. Six months later she is back at the same bar to tell Jet that he has a son.
I think one of my favorite things about this book was that it wasn’t about a broken rock star. Jet didn’t have a glamorous, rich and famous rock star life but he was happy and his bills were paid doing what he loved. But the along comes Hannah who is so broken and beaten and awe man my heart hurt for her. I wanted to fight for her so it was no surprise that Jet would want to too and would want to do it as her partner. I hated that all she wanted to do was the right thing for Alfie but her misplaced loyalty to a crappy family was stopping her from doing that. Loved it when she realized who her true family was and when she did she was ready to fight for them instead of cowering. The only thing that bummed me out about this book was that it seemed anticlimactic. Don’t get me wrong I am glad that nothing bad happened but it just felt like the conflict fell flat for me. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to dive into Tulsa so I can find out what state it was.
This is a great read, more than just a rock star romance. Jet and Hannah have chemistry and their love has a rocky start but gets to where it needs to be. Alfie is a great kid, he is super sweet and also deserves a HEA. There are lots of great characters in this story and I can’t wait to read more about the Crow Brothers.
I loved the Crow Brothers! Johnny Outlaw (from Resistance) shows up in the beginning to watch them, and offers them their once in a lifetime chance. But someone else is there too with a bomb to drop on Jet. I love these band novels. Jet and Hannah spark off the pages!
Spark is book 1 in The Crow Brothers series and my first book by this author and let me say I am hooked. Jet and Hannah start out as a one night stand he wants more and she needed to walk away fast forward 6 months and Hannah turns back up in Jet life and drops a bomb shell that will change his life forever. Go on the journey with these two as you won’t be disappointed, fantastic read.
This was my first read from S.L. Scott and definitely not the last. The story was compelling from the prologue and didn’t loose me at all. I definitely recommend this series to everybody.
I enjoyed this book. Loved the narrators.
This is an interesting story. Jet Crow and his brothers are an up-and-coming band that is about to get a break. Hannah has a one night stand with Jet, and she leaves an impression on him – he can’t stop thinking about her. He sees her again, and she is harboring a secret. Can he get past the shock of what seeing her again and what it means? Will it affect the band’s big break? Can Hannah get past what has happened to her in previous relationships?
I am definitely looking forward to books about Jet’s brothers.
Audiobook review:
Spark is the 1st novel in The Crow Brothers Rockstar Romance Series.
A Rockstar Romance with a twist. Jet Crow, Hannah Nichols, & Alfie are compelling character’s with heart and soul.
Told in dual pov, with a dual narration that flows through smoothly and reveals their personalities.
A flawless performance by narrators Sebastian York and Ava Harrison. Chemistry between these two together is off the charts.
As narrators and storytellers with passion, they bring the character’s to being. A light easy listen.
I honestly have to say I stopped listening to books revolving around rock bands a few years ago. They started to get monotonous. The focal artist was into boz, drugs and so-on, then someone swoops in and saves them.
This story however is different. It’s fresh and oh so good. The Rock legends Johnny Outlaw and the Resistance make an appearance but in a different capacity. What makes this story different and appealing is Jet Crow, part of the Crow Brothers band is not cocky, he is grounded. So much so that when he gets news that should have shocked him, he doesn’t go ballistic he excepts it is thrilled. Is even willing to turn down a contract with Johnny Outlaw. His focus is on the girl that comes with this news, Hannah even though it was a one night stand he wants her always, there lies the problem, he has to convince her.
I am reviewing this audible book for Audiobook Obsession, for a fair and honest review, thank you.
Also have to say Ava Erickson and Sebastian York loved the narration. S.L. Scott looking forward to the next book.
Spark is a second chance, rock and roll romance, the story of Jet and Hannah, the beginning of the story the Crow brothers.
Already addicted to this series, the characters, the story everything has me super intrigued and hooked.
Hannah is running away from her past, she has been trying to get back her life but her family duties are calling. confused about the whole situation Hannan will have to re-evaluate and decide her next step.
Jet is living his dream trying to finally have a lucky strike and put him and his band into the spotlight.. his life had one goal, he wasn’t looking for a relationship or any compromise. his career was his priority but life has something planned for him and his past will come back to mess around with everything he ever planned..
Spark is light, funny, intense. love the characters, the story everything made this book easy to enjoy..
The Narrations by Sebastian York and Ava Erickson were great, love how much they added to the story and the characters. love how Ava narrated Alfi she really made me melt with her voice. Sebastian really brought Jet out and made the character even stronger and sexier.. great work Superfan of these amazing narrators.
Crow Brothers Book One
When Jet Crow has a fantastic night with Hannah Nichols, neither knows the future will throw them together again in the most interesting way. Hannah’s cousin passes away, leaving behind a six-year-old boy whose father happens to be Jet Crow. Now Hannah just wants Jet to sign papers handing custody over to her and get on with her life. However, Jet is determined to be there for the son he never knew he had. As the two spend more time together caring for Alfie.
If you’re looking for a story about an up-and-coming rock star, a second chance romance and a secret baby story all thrown into one, this is the book for you!
This was the perfect combination of a fabulous storyline mixed with deep emotions. Hannah and Jet have a past but it is not until she seeks him out to let him know he is the father to her cousin’s son does their past collide. But can Hannah open up and forgive him after her family had labeled Jet as a dead beat when he never knew the child existed? Can the two also find happiness and love while fighting for custody of young Alphie? Dripping with emotion and beautifully written characters I cannot wait to read more in the series.
My first S.L. Scott book, and I am in love! This book has my favorite tropes all melded into one story. A second chance romance, a rock star and a single dad! What is not to love! Jet is rock star who has a one night stand with Hannah. This is a woman he cannot forget. When she contacts him months later though, she delivers a life changing message to him. These two from the start have such a pull it’s impossible not to see them together. But they do have quite a few obstacles to get through. Not a typical rock star romance, this story has some meat to it, giving fatherhood and serious relationships the forefront of the story. It’s well written, full of passion, and the joy of Alfie, Jet’s son is impossible not to fall in love with. So many good qualities and characters are peppered throughout the book all tying into a wonderfully written book.
Sebastian York and Ava Erickson bring this story to life. The combination of the duo is perfect, their flow is similar and their inflections for the characters is flawless. It’s a very entertaining listen.
