But now, trapped on a mountain of snow and things unspoken, Mona will have to find a way to coexist with Abram, chaos and all.

The first book in this series was a tad lukewarm for me, I just didn’t love it. Well after reading Space, let me tell you, my thoughts have changed, for the better.
This installment of the series was straight up addictive. I flipped through the pages in record time and then BAM! Another cliffhanger. Holy frijole, I am so stoked to finish this series now. Hurry the hell up part 3! I’m on pins and needles here.
Mona and Abram are killing me.
Mona and Abram left us gasping and wanting at the end of Motion. We jump 2 years forward and are looking in on these two after a long separation. Mona has kept a big secret from Abram and he is none to happy about it. He’s become everything he wanted and Mona is a distant muse. This one while knowing it’s a cliffy as well, wasn’t a book I would want to miss. I honestly can’t wait until it’s time for Time!
I didn’t think Reid could take Mona and Abram and make me fall for them even more. Nor did I think she’d deliver a shocker after the ending in Motion. But Space packs a punch straight to the feels when Mona and Abram are thrust back together TWO WHOLE FREAKING YEARS LATER. Yes, you read that right two whole years between their week of infatuation and a whole new one that pushes their narrative forward. All it took was 6 days for the two of them to fall head over heels in confusion. Now they both only have a few days to really decide if this is the future that they want.After breaking her won heart and walking away from Abram, Mona’s carried around a letter in her pocket detailing her deepest desires…and the truth. Two years she’s held on to a memory and an obsession with Abram that hasn’t faded with time. When she decides to spend a week with her best friend in her family’s ski cabin, the last person she expects to see is the man himself. But instead of the charming and devilish Abram, now he’s a rougher, and still just as devilish. Now Mona is snowed in and has to face the past and Abram’s anger at her betrayal.Abram is not happy to see the one woman who’s caused him years of pain. She may be the muse for his heart-wrenching music but he doesn’t need any more motivation. After burning his way through bars, booze, and women he doesn’t need picture perfect, Lisa aka Mona ruining his concentration. A few drinks deep one night and she’s revealing all her secrets, a whole new side of the charming woman he fell for before. Now he has to decide if the weight of the world is worth the weight of her heart. Loving her won’t be easy especially when all they have is space between them if they want to make it work.
I thought the first book was good but this book was just so much better. I adored the character development in this installment. Abram really surprised me, allowing his true self to shine through his barriers and revealing just how amazing he truly is. He has low tolerance for liars and he doesn’t play games, but the idea of revenge is repulsive to him. There are a lot of emotional and heartbreaking moments in this book. Abram’s trust has been broken and Mona has to make amends to give their past closure. Mona’s relationship with her sister has benefited from her deception, but she has paid a high price for it and she wants to do the right thing.
The tension between Mona and Abram is at an all-time high. However, balance is achieved with some swoon worthy moments and the characters’ intense chemistry. I was fully invested in their story, they are awesome characters and the way their relationship evolved was so well done. Honesty is now on the table and I loved the way they were able to work through their problems.
This story is gripping, beautiful and very addictive. I can’t wait for the next installment. I need more Mona and Abram in my life !
5 Stars
After the conclusion to Motion, I was incredibly eager for more of Mona and Abram.
Apart from the prologue, Space takes place two years after the events of Motion.
The main difference with this title is that it’s told in a dual point of view and readers get a glimpse into not only Mona, but also Abram’s inner most thoughts and feelings.
Mona broke Abram’s trust with her deception, lies, and half truths. Despite the fact that they both fell hard and fast in the little amount of time they spent with each other, he’s hurt, betrayed and angry and must come to terms with the fact that he wants to discover if what they had was real. He doesn’t know if he should trust his feelings to know if what he felt was real or fabricated.
The chemistry and attraction between this pair is undeniable and their story is angsty and emotional, broken up with moments of Penny’s signature humor.
I adored Space and now I will be eagerly awaiting the release of Time for the conclusion to their story!
Welcome to Space, Laws of Physics book 2 and Hypothesis book 2.2. Space is not astandalone. Forbetter understanding I strongly recommend to read the books in order. The previous book is Motion and tells the beginning of Mona and Abram’s story.
Space picks up where Motion left off. Mona was a stand-in for her twin sister Lisa and unfortunately they fell in insta-love with Abram. Only there was the major problem that she had to act like Lisa, her spunky and outgoing twin. A difficult task for the recluse genius who sees the world through her own eyes in a very special way. Mona was the character I fell in love immediatedly. She’s a bit social awkward, she’s selfconscious but strong and true to herself at the same time. She’s honest to a fault and I simply adore her goodness. On the other hand, Abram fell for her just as quick, only to get deeply disappointed by supposed Lisa.
And that’s where the story picks up.
Years later, both have moved on it seems, they meet again at a vacation and they have to deal with their emotions. Abram’s an angry and bitter man, and Mona would do everything to make him feel better – at the cost of her owen happiness. She’s the most selfless character I ever met.
Space by Penny Reid made me swoon, it made me laugh at Mona’s dorkiness and it made me cry a little too. The story ends in kind of a cliffie and continues in Time.
After the ending of Motion, I was really curious about how Abram and Mona’s story would continue. The first thing I was so happy about was the fact that we got Abram’s POV in Space. I missed this in this first book and I loved how his thoughts added to this story!
I didn’t really expect the story to continue over two years later. Part of me wishes that it would’ve continued where it left off, but them not seeing each other for that long and not expecting to see each other definitely made this story really interesting. In all honesty, I could see myself in that house in Aspen. Curling up with a book while reading a book, where can I sign up?!?
I loved that everything wasn’t back to normal really fast and that there were definitely some feelings causing some issues. Abram was hurt and had every right to be. He started falling for someone to find out she wasn’t who she said she was. I think it was amazing that it inspired him to write music. The lyrics we get to read in this story are really good! I really felt the tension and emotions between Abram and Mona.
Mona was still Mona, even though it’s clear she still had feelings she didn’t want. She may be very smart, but emotions aren’t easy for her. I love how humble she is though. Even though she’s rich and grew up that way, she doesn’t like people cooking or cleaning up after her. I don’t think many people can say that! It’s clear Mona starts changing though and slowly letting feelings in, how hard that may be.
Besides Mona and Abram, there is a great group of characters with them. I loved how they all interacted and made Mona and Abram figuring their feelings out even more interesting. I need more Leo though, haha.
What makes this trilogy special is that the romance is definitely slow burn, but the emotions and thoughts seem to play more of a role in this story. It’s not like many books that have characters dive into bed together and then figure everything out. That’s not a bad thing, but this story is very special. I love how things slowly develop and that we get to see how it plays out.
The only reason I didn’t give Space five stars is that I kind of wish we had more moments with Abram and Mona together. A lot was them doing things and thinking about how they felt. That’s fine and really interesting, but I wanted more moments of them together. I am excited to see how their story will continue in the next book!
If you’re looking for a fun read with characters who are exploring feelings, a group of friends snowed in and see a love story develop right in front of you, Space is the book for you!
Space by Penny Reid
Laws of Physics book 2
OMG SO FREAKING GOOD. I turned off the location and percent markers on my kindle, so I couldn’t tell how much of the book I had left, and let me tell you, it was SO good in SO many places that I was sure the next page flip I would see…nothing, cause I know there is a cliffhanger. I kept thinking but how can it get better!!!! And yet it did, every time.
I am eagerly awaiting the last book of the trilogy.
~ Paragraphs and Petticoats ~
Ninety nine hundred thousand billion stars!!
In my review for MOTION, I asked Penny Reid to hurt me and man did she deliver it in spades.
Mona thought she left all the mess with Abram behind her, sure she was hurting everyday but she knew she’ll never meet him and that was the only respite. Until she came face to face with him at her family’s cabin. Now, she is stuck with Abram and his wrath for a week and she might not come out of it unscathed.
I’ll start by saying that I cried for a solid 40% of this book and this is one of the best books I’ve read this year.
Mona, my sweet baby!!! I thought I loved her in Motion but after this book I think I’m insanely madly obsessively in love with her. I have never loved anyone like I love Mona. She is so strong, so passionate but my baby also needs so much love. I want all the happiness in the world for her and I cannot wait for her to finally get the love she so truly deserves.
ABRAM HARRIS NEEDS TO BE PROTECTED FROM THIS CRUEL WORLD AT ALL COSTS!!!! The only reason for me being blindly in love and adoration of this man is that Penny is a sorceress and she packed some kind of spell in her story which made me mad about two characters that are the epitome of everything I could possibly love. This man deserves so much appreciation and love and respect and by God I will see that he gets it.
Mona and Abram are not perfect. These two are flawed and real and pure and amazing and they hurt so much but they also no how to love boundlessly. I couldn’t have asked for a better story for these two and I am just now remembering there is another book to come.
This is just the start of Mona and Abram, my dudes, we aren’t even prepared for what’s next.
I’m still the girl standing in front of Penny and telling her that I love it when she hurts my soul.

This is a second book in a trilogy. I love Mona and Abram. I love how Abram can see and understand what Mona can’t and doesn’t think of saying. I love how Mona’s mind works. This was a really good, enjoyable installment in this trilogy, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

Mona and Abram’s story continues!
The cliffhanger from Motion left me stunned even though I knew it was coming, and the prologue in Space picks up right where we left off. I am really glad we got to see the immediate aftermath of what happened. It helps to frame the events in the rest of Space.
The story then picks up a couple years later when Mona is shocked to find her brother Leo, Abram, and some of their musician friends at the Aspen house she planned on spending time with her friend Allyn at. She has not seen or spoken to Abram in those two years, and she wonders if he knows it was her that he spent the week in Chicago with.
Abram and Mona could have become caricatures – the smart young woman who has achieved a lot but emotionally doesn’t connect and the musician who feels everything and puts it into his music. Instead I connected with them and my emotions felt put through the wringer as they worked through their issues, anger, attraction, and romantic connection.
Space is dual POV and I was excited to get in Abram’s head a little. Getting to see how both he and Mona felt and reacted as they processed finally facing the truth added so much to the story!
The book finishes on another cliffhanger. A different type than in Motion but no less impactful, and now we wait for Time! I am so glad it is only a month away.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review. I love Penny’s books so much I also bought a copy for myself.
*** Space is book two in the Laws of Physics trilogy and should be read after Motion. This review may contain spoilers if you have yet to read book one. ***
Mona DaVinci has not seen Abram Harris in the two and a half years since she pretended to be her sister and fell for a man who had absolutely no idea who she really was. With her inconvenient feelings that are never going to be reciprocated, Mona has done her best to move on from the hard-to-forget time that she once spent getting to know Abram.
Avoiding all things Abram is surprisingly easy… until a trip to Aspen, where they end up snowed in together… along with her brother and his many friends…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Space was simply everything I could have hoped for in the second installment of Mona and Abram’s story. With 2.5 years having passed since their whirlwind romance, Mona and Abram are no longer the people they were when they first met. And when the opportunity is presented to finally come clean about everything in their past, will the truth ruin even the slightest chance they have for them to get to genuinely know each other.
I am now completely hooked on all things Mona and Abram! Being introduced to both of these characters in Motion, I felt that I was given a thorough view of their personalities and backgrounds. And now, with the story evolution of Space, we see two people who have matured and come into their own so brilliantly that they have now entered into some of the most “unique and unforgettable couples” territory.
Space has boosted the emotion, angst and sexual tension of the Laws of Physics trilogy to enthralling levels. With another cliffhanger that leaves us counting down the days until the release of Time, Mona and Abram have left us with a lot of questions and a desperate anticipation as to where their story will take us next.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
I loved getting Abram’s perspective in this installment of the series. I could feel his anger and angst as well as his undeniable love, tenderness, and protectiveness for Mona. For such a short book, I appreciated the interplay and texture of the side characters, and I’d love to see more of them. I can’t wait for Part 3!
This is the second book in the trilogy. I was anticipating this one so much. I really like Mona, She’s such a genius and a little awkward when it comes to social situations. I like to see her relationship with her sister is getting better, but reading how strained things are with Abram hurt to read. I really liked that we got dual points of view in this book. I liked we got inside Abram’s head so for me it helped to know where he was coming from. Even though Abram’s struggling with his feelings with Mona he still looks out for her. that’s what he most redeeming qualities for me. Don’t get me wrong I understand he has his reasons for being mad, but he’s changed man from the first book. Through out this one we gradually see the true Abram coming back. This book does leave off on a cliff hanger for these two, but I can’t tell you how much I’m anticipating the conclusion to their story.
Penny Reid entertains again!!! the only downside is that this is part 2 of a 3 part group
First off I must say this as I wish I had known going in – the ending of this book is nowhere near as bad as the ending of Motion. Not as cliffhangery as Motion. Not as devastating as the first book. Whereas at the end of Motion I was sure there was something wrong with my copy of the book as there had to be more because how can you leave me like that to wait for the next book?!?! When I got to the end of Space I was okay with it. I felt hopeful that everything would indeed work out and these two would live happily ever after forever because they so should. It felt like more of a pause than a cliffhanger.
Going into this book I was a bit hesitant because a) I didn’t want it to end and I was dreading being devastated and having to wait for book three and b) I didn’t want to hate Abram. I could totally see where he could be an absolute jerk to Mona because of what happened, because she lied to him and he was heartbroken, and I loved him so so much in Motion I didn’t want this book to ruin that. I didn’t want this book to ruin him and then have to work to make me like him again. But that didn’t happen. In fact I think I may love him more than I did originally if that is possible. He would get angry and upset and try to be indifferent, but oh my heart ached for him. For how long he has been in this limbo of not knowing what was real and what wasn’t. Of thinking that Mona used him and is off living her life never once thinking of him again. Or maybe laughing with her sister about their time together in Chicago. And yet, even with all of that, he can’t stop thinking about her. Can’t stop wanting her, being inspired by her once she is around, wanting to make sure that she is okay. I loved Abram so so much. He has a sensitive heart, but a heart that knows what it wants. He is such a sweetheart and I cannot wait for more of his story!
And Mona? Oh, my heart breaks for her as well, but for different reasons. Because she keeps herself separated from people so they don’t hurt her. Because she feels like she has to earn everything and if it is just given to her she doesn’t deserve it. Because her parents were famous musicians and taught her that musicians are not monogamous ergo Abram won’t be so it will never work between them. She hides from her emotions so much, she keeps her walls up really high so no one can get through. Though it is difficult being around Abram since she still cares for him so much and it is hard at times to keep those walls up. To not want to be with him even though it won’t work out. Because he hates her which he has every right to. Because he is a musician and she is just a genius. Oh I loved Mona too. I want everything for her.
This story was everything. It was so much better than I had anticipated and I thought it would be great. I absolutely adored the first book and this book was just as amazing. All of my thoughts of how this story might go were thrown out the window pretty much from the get go. Which was awesome. Because this story was so much better than I had ever imagined it would be. Mona and Abram have some issues to overcome for sure, they need to deal with what happened in Chicago and everyone needs to know all the details, but they are perfect for each other. They both want the other and no one else so you know they have to find a way to work it out. I loved these two so much, love how they interact and think about each other, how they work together. Right from the start you can feel their connection. It might have only been 6 days in Chicago, but 6 days was enough for them to be imprinted so strongly onto each other. For them to both still be thinking about the other over 2 years later. I love this story. Mona and Abram are incredible together and I can’t wait for the last book!!
*Note: I received a free copy of this book for voluntary review consideration
Gah! This series has me so hooked! Not that I had any doubt that it would, Penny Reid is a master storyteller and her trilogies seem to be my absolute favorite!
Mona and Abram have this draw to each other and I love it. Mona is such an interesting and unique character and this is what Penny Reid does so well. She takes character’s you wouldn’t expect in a romance novel and show’s you how amazing their story can be.
I highly recommend grabbing this book asap. It’s a series you don’t want to miss. I myself am sitting on edge waiting for the final book in the series to land on my kindle.
Every book of Penny Reid’s increases my love for her and her brilliant writing.
Space picks up 2 1/2 years after Motion and oh I loved Abraham, my heart ached for him. He has tried to forget the woman he loved but he is full of pain and wants to hurt Mona the way she hurt him but his heart soon takes over again. its a fine line between love and hate.
Mona has been holding onto a huge secret and her love for Abraham. The only place she feels peace is at her parents place in Aspen and she escapes there as often as she can. Only problem is on one visit she comes face to face with Abraham and he does not seem happy to see her.
Even though I understand Abraham’s anger and pain, my heart broke for Mona, she was so lonely as she detaches herself to save her from pain. She’s never been put first by anyone so she isn’t sure what to do with Abraham’s love.
Penny did an outstanding job with Space. She brought all the feels with this one, she made me laugh, cry, swoon and get angry. As this is left on a cliffhanger i am left with a need to see more of Mona and Abraham.
What to say about this book? So many things! First, if you read the first book, and I sure hope you did, there is a good GAP in time between book one and two. So, it’s like we are getting to know those characters again. How did they change? What that end in book one did to then? Is there any chance for them to be a couple? I have to say I fell in love with Abram all over again and Mona has matured so much! I loved to see they dancing around each other and Abram trying to understand all that happened. If you are already a Penny Reid fan, you know this book has a lot of lines you’ll want to highlight, adorkable characters and a story you’ll want to devour from the first page. Now to wait one more month to the epic conclusion!
The epic love story of Mona and Abram continues in Space.
What can I say without giving spoilers? Well, that I was a mess of feelings during this book. I was angry and sad and anxious and happy, oh so happy for Mona and Abram. I didn’t think possible to love Abram more, and I was pissed at him more than half of the book, but there was one single line that changed everything. I just LOVE HIM. He’s amazing. Like perfectly amazing. Mona described him with her physicist words and terms and I couldn’t agree more.
This second book of the trilogy is set 2 and a half years in the future. This time it is the other sibling of Mona that we get to meet, along with some of the musician friends of Abram and Leo. Mona’s best friend had also a great part in this book and I couldn’t love her more.
I can’t wait for the final installment of the Laws of Physics trilogy and fall more and more in love with Mona and Abram.
200% recommended.
