NASA engineer Dr. Jackie Darling Lee is a genius about many things… the male species is not one of them (despite the many cowboy romances she reads). Then a little friendly blackmail from a co-worker has Jackie walking into a Texas saloon ready to initiate Operation Social Life. After making friends with her waitress and helping a drunk country beauty get home safely, she thinks she’s off to a … off to a good start.
Flynn West left his family’s rich ranching life behind after discovering his girlfriend’s gold digging ways. Now he specializes in vintage muscle car restorations in his own shop in Houston.
He’s taken women off his radar, until a wild-haired blonde drags his drunk little sister through his front door.
The moment he sees those thick, black-framed glasses on that slender nose, Flynn’s captivated. Ignitions ignite, and not just from Flynn’s skills at hot-wiring cars.
But in the midst of the International Space Station being threatened and old flames reappearing, can Jackie and Flynn let go of old hang-ups long enough to reach the end of their Happily Ever After countdown?
Or will it be a failure to launch?

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC.
This was so good. There was a lot in here to love– funny dialogue, lovable characters, cool information on space and NASA, and of course, the Romance.
This is a MUST read for me.
I looked it up, and the next book in the series is coming out soon as well– Space Cowgirl. I’m really excited for all the side characters to get their own book.
Space Junk: Houston, We Have a Hottie is the best contemporary romance I’ve read in a long time. Jackie Darling Lee is a NASA nerd. She’s socially-challenged, and it’s only when her friend, astronaut Julie Starr blackmails her, that she launches Operation Social Life in an attempt to make new friends, particularly male friends. And once she meets Flynn West, all systems are go.
Hudson’s characters are three-dimensional and incredibly likeable, even the secondary ones. She’s able to balance steamy sexy times with humorous moments that had me laughing out loud. Any book that makes me smile as I’m reading it, and eager for the next one in the series when I finish it, is a winner. And Space Junk is a definite winner.
Such a great read. So nice to find a romance with the heroine in the STEM field. And at NASA too!
lots of laughs.
Can’t recommend enough.
This was my first Sara L. Hudson’s book, and won’t be my last. This is the first book in the Space Series. Wow! I loved it!! Jackie and Flynn’s story is sweet, sexy, fun, and heartwarming. Jackie is a wonderful character, kind, smart, and beautiful. Flynn is handsome. They are perfect together. The supporting characters are great, and I can’t wait to know more about them. Samantha Brentmoor, Lee Samuels did an outstanding job with the narration. I enjoyed it. This is a great start to the Series, and I am looking forward to listen to Space Cowgirl, the next book in the Series.
A genius Nasa engineer and future astronaut decides to add a social life, and meets her two new best girlfriends. She also meets a hunky, classic sports car mechanic, who, unbeknownst to our heroine, comes from a wealthy oil family. Her social awkwardness and fear comes from being a super nerd who was socially tossed aside when she was in college, and his fear is that she’ll want him only for his money. This is a light-hearted and fast-paced story with great character arcs and a fun supporting cast. Enjoy!
What a fun read! A bit of an “ugly duckling” story, this book is full of funny banter, steamy times, misunderstandings, insecurities and geek-speak that was sometimes a bit above my pay grade but fascinating! Wow, the amount of research the author had to have done. And let me just note that I would like Jules, Trish and Rose in my girl posse. Loved it and looking forward to reading more by this author.
The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting.
Add in a wee bit of drama and you have a good read.
I received a copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
Houston we have a problem: Five Stars just ain’t gonna cut it for this book!!! “Space Junk: Houston We Have A Hottie”, is a hilarious, sexy, feel good read.
Jackie Darling Lee is a genius and works for NASA. She is smart, beautiful, socially awkward and absolutely adorable. There are just too many things to love about her.
Flynn West is a sexy cowboy mechanic (yes, he’s a cowboy AND a mechanic *sigh*). Filthy rich and beautifully broken because of mistakes in his past. He’s not ready for the havoc one glasses wearing, shit box driving brainiac will wreak on his life.
Together these two are magic. Their attraction is hot and their resistance zilch. But miscommunication and misunderstandings arise that force them to make tough choices. No worries, when you love someone like these two love each other, only one thing can come from it – an incredibly sexy happily ever after written in the stars.
TBR this fantastic read and prepare yourself for a laugh out loud, panty melting read.
A fun, cute, steamy, and great standalone romance with an amazing female lead! I seriously ADORED this story and have added the next book in this series to my wishlist.
It’s available on #KindleUnlimited!
Jackie is nerdy and quite shy, Flynn is a cowboy through and through with a hardened exterior.
This was a quick @$$ story with likable and strong characters and funny moments.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a fun romp this story was. Funny and quirky with most of that endearing quirkiness coming from Jackie. Jackie is a genius with a fount of information always ready to explode out. She’s not only a genius but she is also a shy, giving woman who has missed out on so much growing up. With so much head knowledge constantly churning in her mind, she is also socially inept. She misses cues that everyone else would pick up on. She made me smile so many times. And one of her favorite saying that pops out of her mouth at time
(Holy Mercury! ) also makes others smile too.
Adding to the fun is mouthy Jules, an astronaut currently in space. She has always been Team Jackie even though they are so wildly different.
Flynn is not someone that you would automatically think would be a great match with Jackie. How wrong you would be. He is strong, honorable, successful and so tender with Jackie so often. The romance between the main characters was enjoyable. So was some of the funny moments between them too. But hey, he’s not perfect, he does have his issues. One of them being gold diggers. Flynn and Jackie because of it.
I liked the friends that Jackie picked up along the way. That would be Trish and Rose who is Flynn’s sister. Rose is one wild child with fierce sense of loyalty. I would love to read both of their stories also. Oh, and not to be forgotten Jules romance story.
The only down side for me was when the science while done was also a bit deeper than I would have liked at times. Other than that, this is definitely a series I would like to continue to read.
