Change. It’s change and how well you handle it which defines a person.Three times in my life, I have been faced with such changes. Once when I was fourteen. Again, at eighteen. And now again at twenty-eight.Twice, she was there.Ten years ago, I gave up everything, including her. At the time, it was the right thing to do, for both our sakes. Walking away from her isn’t what I wanted, it’s what had … isn’t what I wanted, it’s what had to be done.
Now, she’s here. People like me don’t always get second chances, this happens to be mine. That’s if she’ll have me. If she’ll accept why I left and the fact, she’ll always be second.
You see, I have a secret. It could change everything when she learns the truth. She may be the one walking away this time.
We’re about to find out.

I’m so in love with Changing Lanes and the way Leaonna Luxx tied in Cherry Grove and Still Creek. Reading about Torrie and Brannon’s love story slowly coming together is heartwarming.
You HAVE to read this book and these stories.
I recommend it to EVERYONE!
This story is basically in two parts, ten years ago and present time. We also get a lot of our other Cherry Grove friends and family in the present part of the story, but it is not necessary to have read any of the other stories first. Brannon and Torrie have a real roller coaster ride. They both act pretty irrationally at times (especially Torrie), but I think it is more understandable as the story plays out. They are very intense. Their insecurities are their downfall, along with Torrie’s father and Ava.
Southern Comfort is a breathtaking, heartbreaking, second chance love story. I’ve not read about the other characters from the Cherry Grove and the Still Creek books, but I fell in love with these side characters. I definitely plan to catch up on these characters. Be warned before starting Southern Comfort get those Kleenex ready! You’ll need them! And sit back and enjoy the rollercoaster of emotions.
Brannon O’Hurley is 18, and headed away to college. He has a fantastic relationship with his mom, who has raised him alone, since his fathers death. We also meet his ex girlfriend, Ava. Ugh! That girl, I wanted to choke her, or b*tch slap her. Brannon gets a full Scholarship to Virginia Tech, he plans to study engineering. He just wants to focus on school. He doesn’t need distractions, yet his first day there, it’s exactly what he gets!
Torrie Harrington is studying to one day take over her dad’s company. To be CEO. Yet, we discover her dad is a complete a**. My heart broke for Torrie for all she’s wanted us her fathers love and approval. Torrie being their only child, and her father always making it known, he wanted a son.
When Brannon and Torrie meet, it’s love at first sight. He shows Torrie what true love feels like. Their chemistry is HOT! I was rooting for them. Torrie’s father disapproves of Brannon. He is not the man to run his company in his mind. When Brannon leaves, Torrie is heartbroken, devestated. And she’s determined to prove to her father she can run the business.
This is where the second chance love comes in. It’s not until 10 years later that they meet again. Torrie being sent by her father to Cherry Grove, to finish a job. ordered by her dad to Cherry Grove to correct a job. Seeing the engineer on the team is none other then Brannon. The chemistry is just as HOT! as much as they are mad at each other, they can’t deny their feelings. Can the secrets these two have be over come? Can true love prevail even time?
This book was AMAZING! I absolutely fell in love with Brannon and Torrie…. To see what they went through for years and then to be met face to face. I got angry, at Ava… and Torrie, and even Brannon a couple of times. I laughed, I cried, and I wanted to jump in the book and beat someone. I think this might be my favorite book written by Leaona yet. It was such and emotional story. I found it hard to put down. I’m not going to give anything away, so I’m going to say this….. GET THIS BOOK! You won’t be sorry.. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next.
This is way past a 5 star book. I wish I could give it more stars. The story of Brannon and Torrie is such a sweet one. There are twists and turns in their love story that will bring happy and as tears to your eyes.
Leaona is such an incredible story teller. I felt like I was there!
