“A page turner! I couldn’t put it down. Ciana has a way of weaving a tale that leaves you spellbound. Sweet, Funny, and a Splash of Danger! Definitely a story you can get lost in.” Candid Book Reviews
A man hiding from his past and a woman running from hers.
Two people from different worlds who know one another only from what they have shared with one another in Facebook messages. … one another in Facebook messages. They’ve never heard the other’s voice, or seen a photo.
Analise Becke writes romance with western heroes, men she has dreamed up by combining the looks of her favorite western actor with the qualities she discovers in her online chats with the Texas rancher, Riley Morgan. She’s cooked up more than a few fantasies about Riley over the last year, but knows them for what they are — fantasies of a lonely woman whose marriage is falling apart.
Riley looks forward to the online chats more than he is willing to admit but has never considered asking what she looks like. She’s just an online friend. Yeah, they have a connection, but certainly not enough to even consider that a face-to-face meeting will spark anything other than a solidification of their friendship.
Riley Morgan and Analise Becke are in for a big surprise – actually a series of surprises. Their lives are about to be turned upside down as passion and danger come to Cotton Creek, Texas.
And they say nothing ever happens in Cotton Creek.
Southern Comfort is the prequel to a new series starting in January, HONKY TONK ANGELS. Come and meet the folks who call Cotton Creek home and who brings their tales to Honky Tonk Angels in down-home, good-old fashioned romances (with perhaps a bit of a twist)!

***********Audiobook Update 07 Nov 19*********
My review for the story portion stands as is. This review is for the audiobook. I had read the book previously, and the voice in my head did not match the narrator’s voice. The narrator did both male and female characters, and made them easily distinguishable. The review will stand at 3 stars for the Audiobook because the narration was ok. Nothing that really stood out.
I voluntarily listened to and reviewed the Audiobook received from the author.

An NYC romance author and a small town cowboy correspond via Facebook for over a year. I liked Riley and Annie together. I liked the characters in Cotton Creek.
The interesting thing about this book is you have ranchers, cowboys, corporate types, mobsters, feds, and angels all in one book.
I wouldn’t consider the angel to be a spoiler, because he really didn’t seem to fit in with the storyline. I didn’t get the whole paranormal piece.
The typos and grammatical errors threw me off a bit also. Overall, it was an ok book. Enough to keep me entertained through my period of insomnia.
A book that sucks you in and makes you feel at home. To find someone on the internet and become friends is special enough, but to meet and fall in love on top of that is perfect. There is so much more than just a love story here that it has a bit of everything for everyone to enjoy. A great book!
When Analise finally meets her long time “chat” friend, Riley, she literally falls at his feet. They discover that they are more than each expected but just what they both needed. This is an exciting and riveting love story, which will pull you in from the start and hold you fascinated until the finish. Ciana Stone is an amazing storyteller, and she has woven a wonderful tale to begin her Cotton Creek Saga. The characters are so well-drawn, you feel an affinity for them right away, and the storyline is so engrossing, you’ll find it hard to put down. But it’s a fast-paced read so it’s easy to stay involved. There’s plenty of drama, a bit of violence, a little supernatural, some steam, and lots of hot, cowboy love. It’s all just enough to keep you entertained from beginning to end.
This was a good story overall. This is an older couple. Which is a different take on romance. I liked that. They have life baggage that follows them around. It gives the story a different spin to it. I felt it was pretty slow at the beginning. That gave us time to learn about them and their lives and friends. Once they actually meet in person….I felt the story kept my interest a little better
I did listen to this on audio. This was my first by J Scott Bennett. He actively came up with different voices for all the characters….phone call and such.
I’m reviewing the audio edition. This is a entertaining story. I like westerns and this is a pretty mild story. There is a little violence. There is a little romance. The story is an easy read where the girl unknowingly falls for the guy she has had a crush on forever. Thank goodness the guy is one of the good ones. Toss in a sort of ex-husband and the story made me feel I was hearing one of the old time westerns. I enjoyed the narrator but I didn’t get any strong feelings for the story. The violence wasn’t enough to make nervous. The romance didn’t make me grab Kleenex. Maybe I just started this author with the wrong story.
Great start to a must-read series! Love Anna and Riley and their ‘story’. The whole book just makes me long for a simple, small town to make home. But things do get a little hairy and it takes a mysterious ‘guest’ to save the day. Want a feel good, HEA that will make you want to read forever? Here it is….
