Jacob
Being the sheriff in a small town was never my dream. My father died and my older brother took off, so I had to be the one to look after my mother. I stayed. I fulfilled my duties as a son and I protected my hometown.
My life wasn’t perfect, but I was content. Until I locked eyes with a ghost from my past, Kallie. I thought it was my imagination, it couldn’t be. I loved her most of my life, but now I hated her.
The town gossip mill was going into overdrive. I kept my head down and my mind off of the woman who shattered my heart when she ran away. She didn’t give me a chance to explain, it didn’t matter to her then. I didn’t matter.
A second chance is never promised, but now that mine is right under my nose, I’m not sure I can take it.

Wow! Is that the proper way to start a review? Well, that is how I am starting this one because Natasha Madison just wow’d me!
I’ve always known her to have the sweet, hot, fall head over heels in love saga. You know the kind where you throw in a sexy guy, a hot female and the HEA that follows. But nah! Not this time! Now, the guys are still sexy and the women are still hot, but there is so much more.
I am a southern girl and boy can we keep our secrets to save face. We can hush-hush like no other. We thrive off drama, we live for angst and we play it all off with that southern charm. But eventually, the charm wears off and we are faced with the realization of life.
First love, heartbreak, lies, secrets, hatred, healing, truths, blackmail, humor, and everything that encompasses the soap operas of old are written into this series.
Jacob and Kallie. They fell in love at a tender young age and love has followed them all through their young years, their formative years and on to the senior prom. And then BAM! The beginning of the end. But things are not always what they seem and the truth is not always the truth.

All the angst of love with the drama of intrigue. Madison packs a ton of heartache inside of Southern Chance. Young lovers who find themselves on opposite sides of a thriller of a mystery. Kallie and Jacob bring out the best and worst in each other and pulled my emotions along as they went. When danger brings these exes face to face anything can happen, including a battle of hearts. Madison shows another side to her avid imagination. She proved the skeptic in me wrong with a mesmerizingly, haunting thrill ride to love.
I was expecting a lot of things from Book 1 of author Natasha Madison’s Southern Series:
A sexy as sin, uniform wearing, hot as hell single dad,
A beautiful, feisty, determined heroine and
Off the charts chemistry and burn you to the ground feels.
What I wasn’t expecting and got in spades was:
A heart wrenching second chance slow burn romance,
A sob inducing plot twist that was so completely unexpected that it left me momentarily stunned,
An honorable, loyal to a fault, balls to the wall hero and
An incredibly damaged but stronger for it heroine.
This book destroyed me and I loved every minute of it. An incredibly well written book in what will definitely be one of my new favorite series by one of my favorite authors. TBR this fantastic read and enjoy. (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.).
Oh my ugly cry! This book has all the feels, all the emotion, and you’ll need a boatload of tissues to read the joy, the tragedy, the love, and the pain that is the story of Kallie and Jacob. So much, so many things, and yet, the basis of it all is the undying devotion to each other. With that as their base, their emotions flow freely, the good and the bad, and the vortex sucks in everyone around them. As the past is unveiled, the pain is staggering, but the healing is done together, and the bond is further cemented out of that hurt and love. An angst ridden story, and a love that cannot be contained, by years or events, and a happily ever after that is all the sweeter for it!
Oh my god Natasha!! Not cool woman! How you going to leave us hanging like that?! Ugh this story has all the angst!! my heart just kept getting broken and I cried for all the pain these two went through! So many emotions flow through this book and it really shows the damage that can happen from miscommunication or not giving people a chance to listen or speak. So many different pieces are at play in this sad and heartbreaking story but Natasha manages to turn it around for her readers and put our hearts back together in a beautiful way!! Then of course she goes and throws in a cliffhanger just to keep us on our toes! Lol Another amazing story!!
Southern Chance by Natasha Madison is the first book in the Southern Series and tells the story of Kallie and Jacob, high school sweethearts who break up on Prom night due to a serious misunderstanding between the two.
Fast forward 8 years later when Kallie returns home for the first time to help her friend/roommate Olivia and provide her a safe space, as she had to escape her recent relationship.
Natasha’s characters always come to life from the first word and you can feel the emotion on every page. Kallie and Jacob both have secrets which are raw and painful. Will they be able to let go of the past and move on? Will their secrets ruin what was once a shining future?
“I dare you to run. I didn’t catch you eight years ago, but I’m not going to make that mistake again.”
The angst level is so good and you will not want to put this book down. This was a great start to a new series. The story does end in a HEA, but we do have a cliff hanger with Olivia and Casey, Kallie’s brother. The next book in the series, Southern Comfort arrives on April 14 and I for one cannot wait.
Southern Chance is the first book in the new ‘Southern’ series by Natasha Madison, it’s an angsty, slightly mysterious second chance romance with a hero, Jacob McKintyre, who puts others before himself. Unfortunately, he forgot to do this for his high school girlfriend.
When Kallie discovers that Jacob’s friend Suzanne is pregnant, and with his child, she leaves town, unable to watch him with another woman.
Eight years later, Kallie comes back, bringing her best friend with her. They’re hiding a secret and running into Jacob is the last thing she wants or needs in her life right now.
But, their secrets are causing problems and now Kallie has to accept help from the sheriff, a.k.a Jacob.
Words are spoken, tongues are lashed and at the end of all that, the love they held so dear before is the one thing that makes sense. Jacob didn’t have the chance to fight for Kallie’s love eight years ago, but he’s not letting her go this time. He’ll do everything in his power to keep her safe and in his arms.
Wow, this was a fast-paced, heart-breaking at times, emotional story. It was tough and gritty, warm and hopeful, and filled with to the brim with full-on characters. Not just Kallie and Jacob. But, Kallie’s parents, her best friend Olivia, Kallie’s brother Chase. And a montage of others. This is a wonderful start to a brilliant new series and I can’t wait for the next book.
I need more of this series. Like NOW! Be prepared for the emotional roller coaster. Good gravy, this one hits you in the feels.
To be Honest I didn’t fully know what to expect when I dove into this story. I have avoided all the blurps for this one. I wanted to go in completely blind. And lets just say I am so glad that I did.
There was everything that I loved when it comes to a romance
1. characters that grab you and holds on
2. moments of humor to help the mood
3. angst that will have you wanting more
4. at least one character that will have me wanting to throat punch them
5. emotion that you can just feel deep down
6. a city girl trying to understand country slang
The characters in this story were ones that just grabbed me and held me till the very last page. Kallie had me hurting right beside her. And Jacob had me going from wanting to figure out where to hide his body to wanting to hug him. Then again I never expect anything less from a Natasha Madison character. Kallie and Jacob’s story was one that was one miss understanding that them lead years of heartache for each of them. And then one secret that has the power to crush any chances of them finding their way back to each other. These two were ones that you just had to fall in love with and the supporting characters were just as grabbing. Olivia gave me moments that had me laughing, with her way of trying to understand the different language that exists in the south. Casey with his protectiveness of his sister and then of Olivia. Beau was that character that you want to find his HEA with the one person that he has been in love with forever, but never has the nerve to act on it. Then there is Savannah, the one character that had me wanting to throat punch her so many times when I was reading. Even when the answers are given to the one secret that destroyed lives, I still wanted to punch her at the same time that I wanted to kind of comfort her.
There wasn’t a moment in this story that I didn’t enjoy. And this is the first book in a new series, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the books in this series.
What can I say about Southern Chance that hasn’t already been said? WOW, what an amazing book!! Natasha has written another gem. It has everything I love, small town…second chance….and a boatload of angst!! Kallie and Jacob were childhood friends who fell in love and it was an epic love, they were going to be together forever, but then both their worlds get shattered by a secret….Kallie runs and stays away for 8 years, but something happens and brings her back with her friend Olivia, and shit hits that fan….HARD!!! Being a small town, of course Kallie and Jacob run into each other often, and it hurts them both, can they get past the hurt to talk things through? Reveal some secrets maybe and heal some of those hurts? You will just have to read Southern Chance to find out…trust me, you want to read this book!! Now bring on book 2!!!!
I really loved this book and I couldn’t even put it down I read it and one day and I always read books I really love in one day but I really love this one but I can’t wait tell the next one
Omg!! Natasha absolutely killed me with this book. I loved every character in this book. She had me crying, laughing, loving and soaking up every word. I can’t wait for the next book. Five star MUST read! I purposefully took a long time reading this book because I didn’t want it to end.
Quite the gripping tale of young love broken by a single mistake. This one will pull at your heart strings. Plenty of secrets… mostly heartbreaking ones. There are a few moments of joy, but this is a heart heavy read. In addition to the couple featured in this book, we meet the stars of the future books in the series, as it is set in a small southern town, and they all intertwine together, so while this is the first book in the series, I highly suggest reading them all in order. The characters are all likable and you’ll feel their pain. Along with the second chance romance, there is some mystery that is playing out in the background. This book isn’t about the sex. In fact there is very minimal included. This is all about their story and healing old wounds. About forgiveness. About the emotions of it all. There is a subject matter talked about that may be a trigger for some sensitive readers. It’s a well crafted story that reads easily and hard to put down. It alternates between POVs.

What would you do for your best friend?? Would you be willing to lose the love of your life to protect your best friend??
Southern Chance is a second chance romance that answers those questions and more!!!
Southern Chance is a little different from what we have seen from Natasha lately but it also brought me back to her Love Story Trilogy (?). The feelings and emotions that trilogy brought out, I found the same thing happening in this story. I laughed, smiled, cried, yelled and totally swooned ;). I was so caught up in this story that I didn’t want it to end.
Now let’s talk about that ending….yes it has a Cliffhanger but not in the normal sense of the word. Jacob and Kallie’s story is complete because we get 2 epilogues and it shows us where they end up. But the storyline that was introduced in this book for Casey (Kallie’s brother) and Olivia (Kallie’s BFF) will be continuing in the next book….Southern Comfort. So the cliffhanger leads us into Casey and Olivia’s book….I can’t wait to see where that story goes!!! Now don’t let that scare you off from reading this book NOW!!! Even if you don’t like cliffhangers, I don’t think this will bother you.
In this story we follow Kallie and Jacob’s story. They were childhood friends and then sweethearts. The “golden” couple as they are referred to in the story. Until something or should I say someone comes in between them. Kallie is totally devastated and decides to leave town and never return. Or at least that is what she planned , until her best friend Olivia is in some trouble and needs a place to hide out for awhile. Now 8 years later and Kallie is faced with having to go home and face the man she loves with all her heart. Jacob was also devastated when Kallie left and over the years his love has turned to anger, so to say he isn’t happy to see her back is putting it mildly. Can these two get back what they lost?? Will Kallie be able to understand once the secrets all come out?? Will they get their HEA?? Read this book to find out.
I loved most of the secondary characters we meet throughout this story. I loved Kallie’s parents and brother. I look forward to reading Olivia and Casey’s book next. I love these two characters together. I thought Natasha set up their story perfectly in this book.
Natasha Madison has become one of my favorite authors and I would 100% recommend anything she writes. I love that she gives us the angsty and emotional romances but she can also give us a hot and steamy hockey romance.
Don’t just take my word for it, read any of her books and you will see what an amazing author she is. I think Southern Chance is the perfect place to start your journey with her books.
4 Stars:
This book kicks this series off brilliantly. It was everything I expected and more. This was the ultimate second chance romance. My only bug bare was. I feel Kallie gave Jacob too much of an easy ride. I mean I would have made him suffer a little longer.
The characters that run through this story are brilliant and I can’t wait for all the main ones to get their stories as well. I mean you can see the stories that are to come are fate.
The next book is lined up and you are left wondering WTF in the last chapter before the epilogues. But I know it will all work out. I can’t give detail in any aspect of what happens in the story. There are so many things that happen. That will spoil this story and maybe even the series.
I recommend this book and I can’t wait for the story to be fully finished when the last book in the series hits. As I truly believe you won’t feel the whole benefit from the separate books until it is all complete.

A great start to what I think is going to be another fantastic series! Kallie and Jacob’s story starts off with a WTF moment and it also ends on a WTF moment leaving you reeling and hoping that all will be ok with some of your favorite characters!!
After 8 years away Kallie is back in town and this is where the story starts to get interesting, as you’re just waiting for the fireworks to begin as the two high school sweethearts come back together after a devastating mistake saw them torn apart… the book is very entertaining as everyone in town seems to have formed opinions and no one is afraid to voice them. A wonderful cast of characters make this book what it is and kept me as a reader glued to the pages as I devoured this charming and highly emotional story.

All the Feels, all the emotions. Swoonworthy hero… strong independent heroine… fabulous support characters. Southern Chance is a Second chance romance worth anyone’s time. I love this book, its an awesome start to the what I know will be a wonderful series. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series.
This was the ultimate second chance romance. My heart absolutely broke for both Jacob and Kallie. The two are obviously soulmates but Jacob’s loyalty to those he cares about comes between them. For eight years they have been apart trying to forget, trying to hate, but a love as strong as theirs is Unbreakable.
I devoured this book. Stated it and didn’t put it down until I finished it three hours later. Great characters, great storyline and a beautiful love story. I definitely give this 5 stars!!!!

5 Star review of Southern Chance (Southern Series #1) by Natasha Madison
I was so excited when I learnt that Natasha Madison had a new series releasing and I jumped at the opportunity to read and review.
This is Kallie and Jacob’s second chance at love story and oh what a fabulous Southern Chance is. I love small town romance, it has become one of my favourite genres to read over the last couple of years.
There’s a fine line between love and hate and Jacob still resents the fact that Kallie left without giving him a chance to explain. There is drama and angst, humour and romance and is so well written that I was fully captivated from the first to the last chapter as Ms.Madison wove her story.
The rumour mill goes in to overdrive when they learn Kallie has returned. Jacob as the town sheriff knows how it works., after all it was responsible for her leaving in the first place. I loved Kallie and Jacob, they were strong characters who I found easy to relate too.
Can Kallie and Jacob confront the hurts of the past, move on and make a future together? One click and find out.
Warning Warning Warning – Highly Addictive Series!! Natasha Madison will have you laughing and crying and cheering for this new tale of love and loss and dreams rediscovered in the deep south. Kallie and Jacob had it all, love and youth, their lives together planned out ahead of them. Prom night was to be the beginning of their life together in the adult world when a confession that is twisted into something devastating is revealed and Kallie runs from the town she grew up in and the only man she will ever love. Eight years later and to help her best friend hide from a dangerous situation, Kallie returns to her hometown to hide her friend. Of course a small town means no secrets and Kallie comes face to face with Jacob and her past. Can these two admit to each other that they were only ever destined to love the other and they have been brought back together for a reason? You will be addicted to this story and like me, you will need the next installment that contains the story of Kallie’s friend Olivia and her brother, Casey. I love Natasha Madison’s stories but I am unable to stop reading and now I will be on pins and needles until the next story is revealed.
Southern Chance, the first book in the Southern Series by Natasha Madison is so much more than I ever expected.
Madison has literally given us my favorite second chance romance that I’ve ever read. Ever!!!
I was so hooked by Kallie & Jacobs story, that all I’ve done today is devour this book. (My husband is lucky I took time to throw good into the InstaPot). Because once you start, you will not want to put this book down.
I love the extraordinary mix of suspense, angst, and pure love all at once.
Madison is the one author you can count on to deliver the feels, and I love the way she mixed in enough angst to have you on the edge of your seat, while still showing the depth of the love between these characters. Something that never faded.
And the humor! Be ready to laugh out loud and know that she gets the southern way of life.
“At the end of the day, he is your person.”
Seriously outstanding!
5 Stars!!!
PS will someone please tell Natasha I need Southern Comfort STAT
