NOW A USA TODAY BEST SELLING BOOK Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South.KallieI fell in love with him when I was seven. I scraped my knee, and he helped carry me inside. Our love story was the talk of the town until a woman told everyone she was pregnant with his baby. The only rational solution was to high tail it out of town and never come back.My best friend needed a place to hide, and … best friend needed a place to hide, and you can’t get much more covert than my family farm, so I came back. For her. It was supposed to be temporary, and I wasn’t supposed to see him, but that’s what happens when you live in a small town where everyone knows each other.
Jacob
Being the sheriff in a small town was never my dream. My father died and my older brother took off, so I had to be the one to look after my mother. I stayed. I fulfilled my duties as a son and I protected my hometown.
My life wasn’t perfect, but I was content. Until I locked eyes with a ghost from my past, Kallie. I thought it was my imagination, it couldn’t be. I loved her most of my life, but now I hated her.
The town gossip mill was going into overdrive. I kept my head down and my mind off of the woman who shattered my heart when she ran away. She didn’t give me a chance to explain, it didn’t matter to her then. I didn’t matter.
A second chance is never promised, but now that mine is right under my nose, I’m not sure I can take it.

Well, this was… exasperating at time, lol.
We have Kallie and Jacob, they’ve been together and in love for forever, but at prom night something really bad happens and breaks them apart for good. Years later, Kallie comes back to town, where he’s she sheriff, and all those feelings come back again. But most of all hurt, on both their part.
First, I really liked Kallie, she was hardworking and I totally felt for her and why she ran after the betrayal. I felt so mad on her behalf, I really wanted to kick Jacob, even after finding out the whole truth. This thing totally crewed Kallie.
As for Jacob, he showed to be a real stand up guy, but come on, what he did to Kallie because of it, it’s almost unforgivable (at least to me). I also didn’t agree with him at being angry. Really, dude? Really? It took me a while to warm up to him and really understand his motives.
Still, he was a good guy and he and Kallie were great together. I was glad things worked out, but man, does this get juicy in the next books, lol.
*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*
Southern Chance is the first book in a new series by one of my favorite authors Natasha Madison. I love when a new series comes out and we get to meet new characters in new towns. I think Southern Chance and it’s characters have a lot of potential. Sometimes it takes the plot being laid down in the first book to really get into it. That’s how I felt about Southern chance. I like where the series is going but the book felt unfinished to me. Now thankfully Natasha writes books quickly, so I’m hoping she quickly publishes book 2.
Now lets talk about Jacob and Kallie. For me their story just didn’t do it for me. I generally like strong and possessive men; Jacob lacked in that department for me. I know he was young and definitely loyal but to the wrong person. Kallie reacted to the situation as one would expect. I could however never forgive him. Their chemistry was almost where I needed it to be but fell slightly short. All together I give Southern Chance 3 stars. It was an easy read and was enjoyable but it didn’t blow me away.
Another absolute hit. This story absolutely broke my heart in places but it had the HEA so that was good. I loved this whole book if I’m being totally honest. I couldn’t stop reading at all. An absolutely amazingly fantastic story.
This is the 1st book in a new series from Natasha Madison. Jacob and Kallie are childhood sweethearts who are madly in love and set for a happy future together. That is until everything is ripped from them at their prom. What happens at prom leaves them both distraught and Kallie flees. Eight years later Kallie returns and Jacob needs to speak to her to set things straight, but will she listen??
This was a great story with great characters and world building and I loved it. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
This was another Natasha Madison Win for me.
When I started I was a bit confused as I didn’t know what was happening with Olivia and why they going to Kallie’s childhood home. But the more I read the more intrigued I was. I finished it in one go people.
I felt sorry for Kallie and Jacob that they lost eight years of what could have been a happy life. All because she refused to hear him out. I felt like she judged him too harshly and just cut him out without giving him a chance to explain. But I suppose she was heartbroken at the time.
But I liked when Jacob decided that he had enough and he was making her listen to him. You felt that both of them suffered and I loved how they got back together.
Definitely an awesome story. But didn’t like how it ended sort of making you wonder what happened to Olivia and Casey…. I can’t wait for the next book to be done
My heart…
One truly beautiful love story from beginning to end. They deserve their second chance! This had it all. I couldn’t put this one. I was wrapped up in their story from the beginning.
This is a story of forgiveness, second chances, emotion, and passion. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Natasha Madison had me with her hockey series, and now she’s come to the south. Her characters are frequently snarky, always loveable, and memorable; the characters in Southern Chance are no exception. Kallie and Jacob’s story was a grand opening to this series, and I am looking forward to reading the next books.
There are a couple of different storylines going on, and neither fully concluded in this book. Which is ok, because we know we have more to anticipate with the characters we have already met.
Kallie and Jacob’s love is off the charts. Not only can you literally feel the depth of their feelings for each other…I mean, their love is BONE deep. I was tearing up at some of the scenes because they made you FEEL that intensely with them. Natasha has a way with her male characters that when they fall, they fall hard for their women and have no problem expressing that passion and love. The scenes between Kallie and Jacob resonate with all the feelings, and it is ecstatic.
We meet several additional characters that we will be spending more time with as we read the remainder of the series. The dynamics between these characters were not one-dimensional but filled with quirks and humor that builds anticipation for the next book. This book read fast because it was that enjoyable, as I wish the next book was out already.
Outstanding start to a new series. If you love small town romance, this knocks it out of the park! Almost got a tear out of me and that’s saying something. I hope to meet the awesome Natasha Madison one day!
A new Natasha Madison series and it’s EVERYTHING!!!
Southern Chance had me crying and swooning like crazy. This was a story about love, life, second chances, and family. Jacob and Kallie were a couple that I just make you want more from them, their love was so pure and strong that even when they were in denial, they couldn’t fully hide their feelings.
Jacob and Kallie had what most people want, a love so strong that everyone around them even felt the love they had for each other. When things are said (or unsaid) everything and everyone breaks apart. Years have passed and some situations bring Kallie back home and into the life of the person who broke her heart. So many secrets will be discovered, and so many lives will be forever changed.
My love for this book is unreal, I just love how Jacob once he has Kallie back is set on never letting her go again. I love how these two no matter the time were always so true to their love. This book deserves so much more than 5 stars, this book is EVERYTHING!!!
What an explosive start to the new series, both the beginning and end are phenomenal, and the perfect set up for book 2, which thankfully is coming in a month, so not a long wait.
I absolutely love a second chance romance and Natasha Madison did not disappoint with this one.
Childhood sweethearts ripped apart by a split second decision from Jacob, our Hero, that caused a break up of epic proportions and left Kallie, our heroine, no choice but to run away, leaving behind the love of her life…. and the baby he shares with his best friend.
To save her best friend (roll on book 2) Kallie returns to her childhood home 8 years later, where she is confronted with her past as soon as she arrives in town.
As much as the pair try to avoid each other, tensions finally erupt, truths are revealed, old feelings take over and this pair can’t be apart any longer.
This story is an emotional rollercoaster of epic proportions, at times I felt my heart was being ripped to shreds, but as with all NM books, she managed to repair it and make it all better.
Although Jacob wasn’t my favourite of Natasha’s heroes, I loved the unwavering dedication between these two, and their extraordinary romance from start to finish. Even when they hated each other, there was an underlying love there.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, absolutely hated Savannah and wanted to throat punch her more than once, I can’t wait to see how Natasha is going to change my mind about her. One of my favourite characters in this book was Grady, I’ve begged Natasha for his story, and she hasn’t budged so far, but I still hold out hope.
5 Bless your heart stars
Well, Natasha did it again! She sure knows how to write the words that pull at your heart. With this one she shredded my heart before the first chapter. That cow!!! (I’m joking – I love Natasha very much!)
I hate that girl in the story! I wanted to punch her! (Still do if I’m being honest with you.) you need to read this one to know who exactly I’m talking about.
Jacob and Kallie have loved each other forever. And then she leaves. (I’m skipping a whole lot so you need to read this one to see what happens.) I’m not a fan on cliff hangers, but fair warning, this one ends with one and I’m okay with it. I felt the cliff hanger part was just a small portion of the story. You can probably read this one all on its own and feel it is complete.
Yes, go one click this one or borrow it from your library. If your library doesn’t have it, you should request it.
Great start to a new series!
P.S. this one does have a HEA.
4.5 stars. What a great new series from Natasha Madison! Book one was full of feeling and angst!! Can’t wait to read book 2!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by author)…
4.5 stars
This is a second chance romance.
Okay I was skeptical about how this book was going to go down, but I loved it. I loved Jacob and Kallie right from the beginning, but things take a turn for the worst rather quickly.
I was uncertain how I was suppose to “love” Jacob after everything that had happened, but then we learn the truth and if it makes sense I was still pissed at Jacob. In a way, no matter how you look at it, Jacob did betray Kallie and tried to hate her for leaving.
Kallie was awesome she did what she needed to do to keep her best friend safe even if it broke her heart again. I loved her relationship with her family, but her bond with her brother, Casey, was sweet and fun to watch. She survived and struggled through many heartbreaking obstacles.
I tried to be understanding about the Savannah situation but I never felt she was truly sorry especially since she was just worried about herself. But I am interested how the situation between Beau, Jacob’s best friend, and Savannah will proceed.
My favorite part:
“Kallie: It would have been magical. It would have been everything that I’ve ever dreamed of.
Jacob: What would? *a tear rolls down his cheek*
Kallie: Our life”
I do love a good grovel or grand gesture and Jacob did NOT disappoint. I especially loved how much he said he hated Kallie, but couldn’t control his jealousy when a guy talked to Kallie; even Beau.
Casey and Ethan have to be my favorites simply because they wanted their loved ones to be happy.
I loved the interaction between Olivia and Casey, the city girl and the cowboy; I can’t wait to read their story.
And last but not least who is Dwayne?
4.5 STARS
There is something about a small town southern romance that I love so much and this one was no exception! This had it all. The secrets, the angst, suspense and all the feels. I couldn’t put this down from the moment I started. I was wrapped up in this town and the characters and their story from the start.
Kallie and Jacob were inseparable in high school, they had their future all mapped out in front of them until the night of their prom when everything changed.
Fast forward 8 years and Kallie has returned to her hometown she left behind. After the incident at prom it irked me that she didn’t give Jacob the chance to explain things. I understood her hurt but felt she could have handled it differently too.
Jacob is now the sheriff in town. It was never his dream but a duty he felt he needed to fulfill. Jacob is living life but not at its fullest as his heart has always belonged to Kallie and he never got over her.
I felt so much for these two. One truly beautiful love story from beginning to end. Their chemistry was off the charts once they reconnected and I immediately felt they had never really gotten over each other and their deep connection was so powerful.
This is a story of emotion, feels, passion, forgiveness and second chances and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Thank you to Natasha Madison and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for sending an advanced reader copy in exchange of an honest review.
Heart wrenching! You think you have life figured out at eighteen, you know everything, blissful, naive. Then unforeseen circumstances force you to make split second decisions that affect your lives and those you love most. Natasha Madison delves into her new Southern series and takes you deep in the south where love runs passionate and loyalty reigns. At times I wanted to scream at these characters! But I laughed with them, cried with them, raged at them and rooted for them. Will first loves Kallie and Jacob find their HEA??? No one writes with more heart than this author. One of my most faves ever. I was so sad to see her fabulous hockey series come to an end… but her Southern series has me, hook line and sinker! Loved loved loved this book, can’t wait for the rest!

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book in exchange for honest review.
This is my first book from Natasha Madison. It’s a small town second chance romance novel. The setting was beautiful.
Jacob McIntyre and Kaillie Barnes are childhood sweethearts. He was her first everything and she thought they would be together forever. Plans change. One moment, one conversation, on prom night will change everything. On the night of senior prom, she finds out that he was the father of the baby Savannah was carrying, Savannah was one of his best friends together with Beau. Kallie doesn’t wait to get more clarity on that. She runs away from their small town knowing that she can’t stay in their same small town and watch him move on.
Eight years later, she returns in town with her best friend, Olivia who needs an escape from a terrible situation. She will see Jacob with his son Ethan and Savannah, the perfect little family, showing her all she could never had, all that was stole from her. Both Kallie and Jacob have secrets, they must deal with their pasts but when you feel betrayed and hurt, it’s hard to tramp those feelings down and move on. Jacob and Kallie work through their pain and will small-town gossip allow them to forget the events that occurred eight years ago?
Even though Kallie and Jacob’s story revolves around a miscommunication which is a storyline I normally dislike, I feel given their age when it happens and everything that happens after is acceptable. Kallie and Jacob talk about misunderstanding and they are so freaking sweet together. Kallie and Jacob never fell out of love.
I loved most of the secondary characters we meet throughout this story. I loved Kallie’s parents and brother. I look forward to reading Olivia and Casey’s book next. I’m totally intrigued by Beau, even though I didn’t like savannah at all. Writing style was completely on point and the plot was well thought out.
Overall it was good, but just too sweet for my taste. Go ahead and check this book if you a sweet tooth.

Title: Southern Chance
Author: Natasha Madison
Series: Southern Series #1
Rating: 5 stars
Southern Chance is the latest novel by Natasha Madison. I have one word for you-WOW! Talk about putting your heart through the wringer. This second chance romance was incredible and I honestly couldn’t put it down.
I adored both Kallie and Jacob. They were seriously amazing characters that had me falling in love with them from the very beginning. They were high school sweethearts and each other’s first everything but one event changes it all. Now, eight years later, Kallie is back in her hometown with a secret of her own. Will they get their happy ever after? You’ll just have to read it to find out!
I loved this story so much-even with that ending too. It had me trying to turn the pages to get more! I cannot wait for book two. Highly recommend reading this book
I received an advanced copy of this book and am choosing to review it. This is the first book in the new series Southern Series. It took place a small town, she take a chance in the southern scene which is very refreshing in her books while keeping that charms that her books always distinguished. Is sweet and step with just the perfect amount of drama and dust of funny moments.
Southern Chance is a beautiful tale of second chances! Be prepared for all the feels with this story. I swooned, laughed, cried and wanted to throw my book along the way. A tale of loss, miscommunication and second chances – this story nearly broke my own heart. Multiple lives are woven together to create a tangled web of angst and lies. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
I really liked this story. It was an entertaining read for sure! The author has the talent that gets readers enraptured with the feelings of the characters. My heart and stomach were a tumultuous mess running through the gamut of emotions these characters suffered.
I read this great story straight through! The author gave us some intriguing characters. Aside from the wonderful Kallie and Jacob, the author introduced us to the sassy and fun ‘as a hill of beans’ Olivia and I adored little Ethan. Each character felt real and captivatingly interesting.
There are some holes in the story line. Most likely the holes will be filled in by the other two books in the series. But I needed a little bit more information to reason it through. Like who is this Liam guy and why is everyone afraid of him? If I am supposed to believe in the justification to upset 8 years of the lives of our two main characters, I want to know more about the why.
I absolutely did not like Savannah. The author did a great job creating her character, but maybe too good of a job. Should she get a book in the series, I can’t say as I’ll have any desire to read it. What kind of friend would take away eight years of your life like that? However, if Olivia gets a book….I am all in! Casey and Olivia will make a hot and fun book!
If you are a looking for an easy romance with plenty of angst, this is it!
