NOW A USA TODAY BEST SELLING BOOK Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South.KallieI fell in love with him when I was seven. I scraped my knee, and he helped carry me inside. Our love story was the talk of the town until a woman told everyone she was pregnant with his baby. The only rational solution was to high tail it out of town and never come back.My best friend needed a place to hide, and … best friend needed a place to hide, and you can’t get much more covert than my family farm, so I came back. For her. It was supposed to be temporary, and I wasn’t supposed to see him, but that’s what happens when you live in a small town where everyone knows each other.
Jacob
Being the sheriff in a small town was never my dream. My father died and my older brother took off, so I had to be the one to look after my mother. I stayed. I fulfilled my duties as a son and I protected my hometown.
My life wasn’t perfect, but I was content. Until I locked eyes with a ghost from my past, Kallie. I thought it was my imagination, it couldn’t be. I loved her most of my life, but now I hated her.
The town gossip mill was going into overdrive. I kept my head down and my mind off of the woman who shattered my heart when she ran away. She didn’t give me a chance to explain, it didn’t matter to her then. I didn’t matter.
A second chance is never promised, but now that mine is right under my nose, I’m not sure I can take it.

Wow! I smiled a lot; I cried more; and, I loved this story-line. I’m not sure I’ve read this author before but I loved this book. It has everything! There are tragic events; there’s heartbreak; there’s some mystery; and, best of all there’s family that hangs together no matter what. Along with this, Kallie and Jacob get a second chance at love, Ethan gets more people to love and who love him, and, babies are born. Thanks for a great read.
Loved it! I got lost in the characters.
Very predictable
Miss understanding, lost, years of pain. If Kallie did not run home because of her friends ex. She would have never found out the truth. Emotional, I felt like I was there & it was happening to a friend. Good book
Love love this book! Very good read. Good characters and story in a story.
i think she forgave him a bit too easily, but to each his own. its was a great book
poorly written, lots of poor grammar, slow and plodding. Sorry I wasted the money and the time to read the part of it i finished.
There is a lot to love in this story and I did love it. But there were also some irritants for me. One, there was a 2-person perspective narration, which I like, but there was a lot of unnecessary repetition of events when told from the other perspective. Second, the plot was a bit thin for me. For it to work, the characters had to repeatedly make stupid decisions that eventually grated on me. As it was a relatively short book, I think it could have been fleshed out a bit more.
Not impressed, seemed like it was written by several different people. One chapter would be nicely written then the next was very teen like, immature.
Everyone has a secret, good second chance romance.
if you like good reads this is one
I loved the twists and turns in this story! The wonderful characters take you through their past and present, until you finally see that they get the HEA you have been hoping for! This gifted author has an amazing way of meshing the backstory with the present, helping you to feel all the feels of teenagers in love and present day adults whose lives are complex and still harbor pain of the memories of the past. One of the best I have read!
3.5 stars. Good storyline, Strong characters, not so great writing. Overall OK.
Incomplete story. The opening basis of the story is that they are running away from something by returning to her home ranch. Every once in a while that comes up to add a little drama to the story. However, the book ends with that story barely touched and you have to get book 2 to find out. There are epilogues and the second one refers to this as now past tense, but you are totally left hanging.
Turns out the story is about why she left town 8 years ago. The reason and the behavior of both people in the couple and both their families and friends makes no sense whatsoever.
1. I absolutely love and enjoy Natasha Madison books, she never disappoints. 2. I never expected to cry so much while reading this book. Jacob and Kallie are childhood sweethearts their journey is a roller coaster of emotions. This book as it all love, hate, regret, secrets and lies. The back and forth banter was icing on the cake. Olivia and Casey was awesome, can’t wait to read their book.
Small town romance
This southern small-town girl is giddy about starting this series. I have been on a Natasha Madison binge-read marathon and so many people recommended this series to me so I was eager to jump in.
I loved Jacob and Kallie – although I would have liked a little more of the backstory in their 8-year separation. But overall I really liked the story and can’t wait to dive into more – hoping to see more of this couple in the upcoming books
3.5 “You’re My Everything” Stars
Natasha Madison is an author I love reading. Her Something So Series and its spin-off This Is Series are my favorite sports romance books. I was really intrigued about her newest small town romance series. Southern Chance had been on my TBR list for quite a while, but I was waiting for all the books to be published before reading them back to back. Even if the final book isn’t released yet, I couldn’t wait anymore and jumped into this novel with eagerness.
I’m a sucker for second chance romances and this one was certainly a beautiful one. When they meet again after seven years apart, the flame is still alive between Kallie and Jacob. There’s antagonism at first, but their old feelings aren’t so far and soon are unavoidable. What I really enjoyed about this novel is the setting and the southern vibe I got. The supporting characters were also really charming and supportive. Add to the mix a little suspense and it was really pleasant.
Where the novel lost some points with me though, was the reason behind the breakup that I felt was a little too weak. Jacob is really a great guy and all, but to act like he did when he loved Kallie so fiercely felt unbelievable to me. Another aspect that left me a little disappointed is the fact that the first half of the book is spent between those two “hating” each other with few interactions and the second half really rushed their reunion. Maybe it’s just the fact the book wasn’t that long too.
Southern Chance was an enjoyable and charming read! I’m now definitely intrigued about Casey and Olivia, because for me they stole the show and I need their story. The overall mystery that started here isn’t resolved yet and I can’t wait to start Southern Comfort to discover what happens next.
I just love them cowboys and the Southern Style, and reading about it also.
The story about Jacob and Kallie is devastating yet so romantic, what starts with a huge misunderstanding leads to heartbreak. But 8 years later when something happens Kallie returns home and when she sees Jacob again, nothing seems to have changed.
I loved everything about this book, i t had great world building, wonderfull characters (others I would love to learn more about in her other books) and it was a real page-turner.
“I fell in love with you when i was probably in diapers. I loved you even when I didn’t know I did and havind you beside me makes me the man I am. ”
“Thank you for giving me the world”
I loooooved this book! I read it in one sitting, I couldnt put it down. I loved that there was a suspense element to it. I need Olivia and Caseys book now!! It was a great second chance romance. I wish it was longer!!! I could of stayed in this world forever. It gave me all the feels! I was laughing one minute and reaching for tissues the next. What a great start to a new series!!
Was given an arc for an honest review
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
