Over 1100 pages of can’t-put-down paranormal fiction.
Shifters and gypsies hate each other, but they hate vampires more.
If they can’t set their differences aside and forge a new alliance, they’ve signed their own death warrants. And if magic dies out of the world, humans won’t be far behind.
Tarnished Beginnings
Tairin Jabari was born in a caravan and has always believed she’s Romani. Why … caravan and has always believed she’s Romani. Why wouldn’t she? Her mother and father never suggested otherwise. The Rom have harsh rules. When Tairin’s first shift catches her unaware at thirteen, her father disappears, and the elders move with deadly speed to punish her mother for mating outside the blood.
Tarnished Legacy
Half Romani, Tairin’s no stranger to hiding her mixed blood from gypsy caravans. What she can’t hide is her perpetual youth, courtesy of her shifter heritage. Every few years, she drops out of sight, resurfacing in a new country to join a caravan where no one knows her. She’s overstayed her welcome where she is, but Germany is at war, and travel has become all but impossible for everyone targeted by the Reich.
Tarnished Prophecy
Magic runs strong in Ilona, a gypsy seer. Powerful ability isn’t valued in Romani women, so she focuses her fortunetelling on inconsequential details. Nothing that could come back to haunt her caravan if a prediction went bad. Rounded up and dumped in Dachau prison camp, she has plenty of time to rue her decision to downplay her ability. If she’d taken the time to scry her own future, she’d still be free.
Tarnished Journey
Long before Germany targeted the Romani people and sent them to prison camps, the Netherlands declared them undesirables. Yara’s caravan disbanded when she was fifteen to avoid being driven out of the country. Ten years have passed, and she’s been alone for most of that time hiding in caves and abandoned buildings. It’s been a lonely life, but at least she still has one. For now.

Tarnished Beginnings 4*
Very interesting wolf shifter story. I felt sorry for Tairin and all her loss, I am glad she finds compassion in her wolf. Tarnished Beginnings very well lays the foundation for this series and I look forward to reading the rest of Tairin’s adventurous life.
Tarnished Legacy 4*
So the story continues….Tairin has been wandering mostly in her wolf form because of the rejection she suffered in her human form. I felt sorry for her in the previous book because she was being punished for her lineage, something she had no control over, her father made it worst but she is brave, strong, independent & very forgiving. She protects her secret and moves frequently, it’s time for her to leave this caravan now but she is discovered eavesdropping. Elliot is a powerful seer and has dedicated his life to his magic, he is drawn to Tairin and has a big decision to make about her. I like that he listens to her instead of passing judgement, because her reputation should speak for itself. There are bigger or rather more evil fish to fry then her secret though and they all have to come together to defeat this mutual enemy. I was upset with her father but I am glad that they get another chance. Very entertaining read.
Tarnished Prophecy 4*
The journey continues. I had some not so nice feeling about Jamal because of how he treated his daughter, she forgave him but I was holding a grudge. 🙂 His presence is so essential this time around that I had to let it go. Ilona has powerful magic but she needs guidance, she’s gotten herself tangled up with a useless man but once her life takes a turn for the worst she is forced to a new reality and new revelations…fight or die. I enjoyed reading this addition to the series and learning more about each character as they learn to work together regardless of the type of magic & discover that their shared desire to help others must have no boundaries.
Tarnished Journey 5*
This is the best!! I didn’t realize until the end that I jumped ahead and read Book 4 before reading Book 3, so as I got toward the end, I was like this reads like the end of the series, well duh….lol. Stewart and his lassie, Yara story adds a great adventurous & very magical ending to the series. The war against magic and evil definitely progressed as did the intensity of the fight. I like Yara because she is a survivor, her plight tugs at the heartstrings making this one of the more emotional reads in this series, to me. Her character is so realistic (other than all that magic) and I admire her for rising above her feelings of abandonment by a mother, who never actually left her alone…things are not always what they seem and when magic is involved the sacrifice is great. Author ended this series with a bang!!! Her imagination is a wonder to me and her style of writing with depth and detail makes your journey into this world of magic very mesmerizing and enjoyable to read.
This is definitely one very interesting, intriguing, highly addicting series. They shud be read in order to fully understand the story more. It has quite a few twists and turns to keep me hooked the entire time.
This is a new one for the history books! Hitler is using vampires to conquer Europe. Shape shifters and their nemesis the Romani must band together to stop the threat that may end them all!
The Soul Dance Collection contains the four books in The Soul Dance series (Tarnished Beginnings, Tarnished Legacy, Tarnished Prophecy, and Tarnished Journey). These books should not be read as standalones as this story began in Tarnished Beginnings and continues in the rest of the books. This set makes it easy to read them all in order. There is violence and the sex is hot and steamy so definitely 18+.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I’m not going to repeat that info here. The author did a great job explaining Romani and shifter culture and some history. Mix in vampires and Nazi Germany and you have an interesting series. The storyline will keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. It definitely kept me riveted.
Book 1, Beginnings -A wonderful beginning to a new series that is filled with magical gypsies, wolf shifters, vampires and the hunters of both. A young girl, overhearing an argument between her parents, finally learns why she feels different. She has learned that the dreams she’s had since she was little, were in fact, her other half trying to reach her. She suffers the loss of her parents, one through abandonment the other through a horrific death by their own gypsy tribe. Having learned what she really is, she barely escapes her people, who are now trying to destroy her. Finally accepting the truth she goes through her first change, with help from her newly discovered bond. Trying to find her father, whom she hopes will help explain what’s happening as well as be accepted by his “family.” This is a story of a young girl overcoming her fear of becoming a woman and learning how to accept and live with what she is. It’s filled with a longing for family, love, and accepting what must be. I can’t wait to read what adventures, dangers and maybe loves are in her future. Book 2, Legacy – Tairin’s been hiding in plain site, amongst a gypsy tribe currently located in Germany, for the last 10 years. Hiding due to her mixed blood and if she’s discovered she would be killed. In this tribe is Elliott the tribe’s clairvoyant and seer of all the tribes. Elliott finds Tairin secretly listening to a meeting of leaders of the different tribes and they learn secrets about each other and just in time for a plan to destroy a Nazi location filled with prisoners. They discover a Nazi plan more dangerous and evil than the camps. Because of this they must all overcome centuries of prejudice and work with their enemy, the werewolves. The story is filled with action, danger, magic and of course terrific paranormal beings. The authors ability to write great stories during different historical periods and fantastical world building never ceases to amaze me. Book 3 Prophecy – As we’ve learned from the previous books, it can be extremely dangerous if her fellow Roms learned of her powers. She meets a wolf shifter Jamal and even though they try and fight it, they are drawn to each other. Trying not to tell you spoilers is hard, but know that the Nazi presence is strong and Ilona is caught and imprisoned with many of her fellow gypsies, Jews and others the Nazi’s deem not of the correct race. Working along with the Nazi’s are the evil vampires who are determined to destroy her and her family and friends for wiping out an entire group of vamps. We also learn more of Jamal’s daughter and the man she loves ; and what happens when the Vamps try and control the group trying to destroy them. If the Roms and Shifters want to survive they must get past their hatred and distrust for each other. There’s a surprise concerning Ilona; to discover what it is, as well as how she escapes from prison and what happens with the gypsies and shifters, when they have to work together to destroy their enemies, you’ll have to get this great world building book with a touch of historical truth in it. We have mistrust, secrets, danger, lies, powerful magic and that’s just within the group trying to work together. Book 4 Journey – We have arrived to the final book in the Dance Soul series, and I hate saying that. This has been a surprising, action-packed, thrilling adventure into a dark historical, but paranormal adventure. We have new characters as well as ones from the 3 previous books. The group is trying to escape from the Nazi’s, and their vampires, to where they hope the Celtic gods will help them strengthen their magic. In this book, demons have joined the vampires in trying to stop this group of gypsies, shifters, and a surprising power hidden by one of their own. We also have an unknown power held by an unsuspecting gypsy, who has just joined the group, as they attempt to escape from the evil that wants to destroy them. The world building in this series is just down right amazing and if one believed in the paranormal, extremely plausible. Do not pass up this great story, or any of the series. The author, as always, welds a strong, imaginative, well researched story to tell. I highly recommend this series to all who love paranormal stories filled with “it could have happened” scenarios, magic, shifters and undying love.
I loved this series from the very beginning and it just kept getting better!
Tarnished Beginnings – The start of a wonderful new series. Tairin is born in a caravan, but she doesn’t fully belong. Once they find out her secret, her life is changed forever.
Tarnished Legacy – Tairin is both shifter and Romani. She has spent quite some time hiding her shifter half from her Rom caravan, but it is time to move on. Trouble is there is a war going on and travel is becoming all but impossible, for those being targeted by the Reich. Elliott is a Rom seer and has noticed Tairin, she is different but he isn’t quite sure how. For reasons no one really remembers, shifters and Romani are told to stay away form one another. Yes these two seem to make one another stronger.
These two are both so strong in their own right, put them together and they become a force to fear. Tairin is so amazing strong due to her past, and Elliott has his power and book smarts going for him. The bad guys have no idea what’s coming their way.
Tarnished Prophecy – This picks up pretty much right after Tarnished Legacy. It is best to have read that and Tarnished Beginnings first, but not necessary. Jamal made several decisions in his past that he wishes had gone different, however things are finally working them selves out. Tairin is back in his life and things are looking up, other than the crazy war going on. While out on a mission they run across a Romani woman Ilona who managed to escape a prison and remain undetected for the time. Ilona is amazing, so strong and caring. More powerful than she ever let on in her caravan. It’s time for the Romani and shifters to start fighting together not each other. They have many things to over come, but both are strong groups. I can’t wait for the next book. Hoping to find out more about Stewart, Meara, Nivkin and Aron. There is another I wanted to know about…but well he was naughty. Go see what I mean…
Tarnished Journey – This is the end of the series, best to have read the others first. The group is now crossing out of Germany but that doesn’t really mean things are going to get easier. Stewart’s past is finally revealed and I love it!! Yara has some interesting secrets in her closet as well. I think this was my favorite of the series. So much going on, and yet there was a lot of closure and still a ton of action.
