Loved this book. Story flows easily. Great characters. Always surprising. You think one person did it turns out be another.
This was such a delightfully-fun, quick read! I love the comradery between Ashley and Patty, and thought that the mystery aspect was done to perfection. I also love Scott’s unique touch of including genuine recipes for the book’s tasty treats.
I’m loving the Seagrass Sweets Cozy Mystery series! Ashley and Patty make such a good team – this time they are catering a wedding for on of Ashley’s old high school friends, but, during the rehearsal dinner a man is found dead. It turns out to be the bride’s favorite uncle.
Despite the police detective’s warning to stay out of it, Ashley can’t stand to see her friend in pain and vows to find the killer.
At the same time, she is dealing with her fear of attachment and having a hard time moving forward in her own relationship with Ryan.
How will things play out? You’ll have to read it for yourself!
I loved this book and series. Great characters. I got an ARC in return for my honest review. If you are looking for a new series, this is it!
I just love this series and the latest addition to the series is just great. We find Ashley and Patty are catering a wedding rehearsal dinner for one of Ashley’s old friends. After the dinner, Robin’s uncle is found in the koi pond. There are enough twists and turns to keep the story interesting and to keep you guessing. Love the two dog’s Dash and Dizzy! Can’t wait for the next installment!
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
I really enjoyed this cozy! Love the setting of the historic house. Ashley is a riot with her snooping, er I mean inquiring. LOL! And the dogs are a great bonus! I love how Ashley confers with Dizzy and how Dizzy & Dash get along. The romance between Ashley & Ryan is very sweet too. And as always this series makes me hungry! That’s the only downside of reading food cozies.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This book is a quick read. I did enjoy the book, but was more interested in the personal relationships in this story then the mystery.
I loved this book. This series is great and anyone would love to read it. The author has created wonderful characters and storyline. Ashley and her friend Patti are creating the food for an old high school friend of Ashley’s. The night before the wedding, the bride’s favorite uncle is murdered. Ashley and friends set out to solve the murder so the bride can later have a more enjoyable wedding. The solving of the murder is interesting and there are twists and turns not expected. I really do recommend this book to anyone who loves to read cozy mysteries. You need to read it!!!
A very nice one-day read. I read an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
“Soufflé Murder”earns 5/5 Fluffy Soufflés…Delicious Mystery!
Ashley and Patty have been hired to cater the wedding rehearsal dinner for Ashley’s high school friend at the beautiful, fully-restored historic house Estes Mount. What a beautiful location for a…murder! Everyone swooned over the food, but Ashley witnessed an argument between a guest and the bride’s uncle who later chimed in during the toast with a groom-bashing speech, “…but the gold-digging leech will never get a penny of my money. I’ll…” He was interrupted, and unfortunately his thoughts will go with him to the grave now that his body is found face down in the koi pond.
Sandi Scott has once again penned a very enjoyable story with a clever mystery culminating with a great ending. She does well setting the scene and tone with excellent descriptions of the historic house, characters, clues and evidence, and various delectables but doesn’t rely only on the third-person narrative. The clever banter between friends Ashley and Patty and Ashley and Ryan is entertaining along with engaging interrogations with suspects and witnesses. I enjoy Ashley’s growth seen over the series, but she realistically still struggles with her relationship with Ryan. He seems honest and honorable, so I hope she takes a chance. I highly recommend this book, but don’t forget to read the other five books which includes a marvelous prequel, “Crepe Murder.”
Sandi Scott has done it again. This is book 5 in this wonderful series “A Seagrass Sweets Cozy Mystery”. I have read all in this series and enjoyed watching how Sandi has developed the characters. Ashley Adams has truly evolved in this series which has been fun to see. Patti and Ashley have not only a business relationship but we have seen how their friendship has grown in to one of best friends. Ryan and Ashley add a little romance in this cozy series. A good clean cozy with lots of twists and turns. Thank you Sandi Scott for letting be on your ARC team. This review is my honest opinion.
Ashley and her partner Patty are invited to cater the rehearsal and wedding reception for Ashley’s friend Robin. Everything is going as expected until Robin’s favorite Uncle Howard is found dead in the koi pond and the groom seems to be the prime suspect.
Ashley and Patty find themselves once again in the middle of a murder investigation. Since Uncle Howard was not an easy man to get along with, they find more than a handful of suspects to investigate. While all this is going on, Ashley’s boyfriend is putting on the pressure to live together, and Ashley feels she has more than she can handle on her plate.
This book is filled with a great mystery, a little bit of romance, a touch of humor, and lots of storylines to keep you captivated
Another addition great to the Seagrass Sweets Cozy Mystery Series by Sandi Scott. This is a fun story with many surprises and awesome descriptions of food. This book will also make you laugh. The characters and their relationships are well written and believable. I was drawn in by the first page and couldn’t put it down until I found out the murderer was. Ms. Scott kept me guessing until the end. This was easy to read. If you have never read her books you must try. I highly recommend this book.
Another great mystery from Sandi Scott featuring the Seagrass Sweets crowds. There is much to keep you entertained – an historic home, a wedding rehearsal dinner, an absolutely nutty neighbor, a murder, the dogs, the food, etc. I know I am going to enjoy my break whenever I sit down with a new book from Sandi Scott. I love both the Pet Portraits and the Seagrass Sweets series. Ashley, Patty and Ryan are portrayed so well and are very believable. This murder investigation has many twists and turns before the end.
Just when Ashley and Patty were enjoying catering the rehearsal dinner for Ashley’s high school friend Robin, another dead body is found! It is Ashley’s Great Uncle Howard. He did appear to be having an heated discussion with another man earlier in the evening. Then he was rather tipsy when he gave a speech at the dinner, telling all that the groom was only marring Ashley for her money! But was it murder?Sheriff Mueller and Detective Luna wasn’t too surprised to see Ashley when they heard the call on the radio. Then, Ashley’s boyfriend, Ryan. He wants their relationship to go to another level…..move in together. Ashley isn’t sure she wants to do this considering her past boyfriend and what happened with him. Can Ashley help her friend find justice and the killer? What will happen between her and Ryan? You will need to read the book to find out. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this story.
Murder in a Historic Mansion
This is a novella length installment in the Seagrass Sweets Cozy Mystery Series. The story is a murder mystery with a renovated historic home as the backdrop. The plot is well executed. The caterers’ boyfriends and dogs fill out the story with needed comedy and romance. And, of course, the story is filled with mouth watering delights. This story can certainly stand alone if you have not read any of the series. If you have read the previous stories, you’ll love this one. I received this ARC book for free and this is my honest review.
Another winner by Sandi Scott. In this book, Ashley and her friend were catering a wedding rehearsal and that is when the worst thing possible happens. There is a murder. Ashley is just going to let the police do their thing on this one and try to help her friend through the loss of her Uncle. The only problem with that is to Ashley it seems the police are just moving to slow so she decides to see if she can figure out what is going on. The rest, as they say, is history.
She’s done it again (no surprise there)! Another interesting murder that involves drowning in a fishpond at a wedding rehearsal dinner venue. Ashley is there of course, and so are Ryan, Robin, and the to be groom, Cash. Great characters, story, and writing make this another detective delight.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
first comes loves then comes the proposal, then comes the rehearsal dinner…
then comes the hearse
looks like the neighbor lady was right. the neighborhood really was going to hell!
An old friend of Ashley may end up losing a lot more than just her wedding space, and her uncle, the bride and her groom become suspects
can Ashley help her friend get justice and save her groom and herself?
Is Ryan suddenly a pushy toad?
A girl’s best friend is her dog- does Ashley really need Ryan – especially 24/7?
Who finds happy ending in this tangled mystery?
Ashley Adams and her best friend and catering partner Patti have become involved in another murder investigation, this one during a wedding rehearsal dinner. There simultaneously seems to be several suspects and no suspects. I know this sound confusing but every one Ashley suspects seem to be easily proven innocent in at least in her eyes. Mrs. Scott has once again penned an enjoyable fast-paced cozy mystery. The mystery storyline is entertaining with its twist and turns. I love reading about the main characters in this book. Ashley’s character is evolving with each book. She becomes more confident in some aspects but very unsure of herself in others such as her relationship with Ryan. Ryan wants to move their relationship along and Ashley keeps putting on the brakes which caused some friction between the two. I can very well see this happening in real life. Ashley and Patti’s relationship is stronger than every and Patti has no problem telling Ashley what she thinks about Ashley’s fears of her relationship with Ryan. Exactly what a best friend would do in this situation.
I recommend this book to fans of Sandi Scott and all cozy mystery lovers. I was provided with an ARC of this book in hopes I would supply an honest review. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and in no way been influenced.
