Their passion and need will force you to become invested in their story. Cheating never felt so right even though it was all wrong.
I luv the Lancaster!!
I was so looking forward to more of Grant. After getting to know him a little in the first book of the series Chandestine. He is so broody and just looks like a total grump. But he does have reason for this I guest. His life is a mess she was pushed out of his family over a woman. Who is now the the cause of all his problems. He doesn’t talk to his family cause things have for one to far even though he needs them he is just to stubborn to admit it. Grant’s life is a mess he feels tied down like he can’t do what is needed. He doesn’t let lose until one night he met this gorgeous woman. Straight away there was a pull but he couldn’t get caught up in a woman even if she made him start to feel a lil. He just didn’t know who this gorgeous woman was or where she would end up.
Bridget is trying to sort her life out. After finishing college she is finally going to work in marketing where she is looking to do something for herself she won’t be in the shadows of her sisters. Only things don’t go the way there meant to. She doesn’t want to have to go to get parents for help she needs this independence more than anything. So getting a job was her main priority even if her boss turned out to be the guy she kissed and left her high and dry.
This book was really good the story has me dying to know what was goin to happen between Grant and Bridget. There story is so complicated and things are far from easy from them. But there sexual tension is crazy hot even when they try so hard to fight it its not enough. I liked that it was Spencer’s brother and Olivia’s sister. It meant we got more of them which is great I luvd there book. I would highly recommend this book and Chandestine. It’s a brilliant series im luvin it so far. I can’t wait for Pierce book.
OMG!!! This book is sizzling!!! The angst, the chemistry, the amazing characters were all top notch. I totally loved every delicious page. Grant Lancaster is ALPHA through and through with his strong character and all male. This book is a roller coaster of emotions that keeps the pages turning way into the night. Bridget starts out as an unsure heroine but as the story continues her strengths are revealed. Two damaged souls that together make a HEA you’ll never want to forget!!!! Make sure you grab this fabulous book which can be read as a stand alone 🙂
Sordid kept me turning the pages, I had to know what was being hidden. The chemistry was phenomenal, the storyline was great, and the ending was perfect. Well done!
Holy amazeballs, people! Sordid is angsty hot!!
Bridget is the youngest of 3 sisters and she feels invisible compared to them. Apparently both her older sisters have had, uh, things going on in their lives that have made the attention focus on them, and quite frankly, Bridget wants to stand out herself now. Now if she could just get that internship she’s been angling for. When it falls through, she begs one of her sisters to help her a little. And help her she does, right into a job with the one man she had an almost night with, the one man she never thought she’d see again, the one man who heated her up in the alley, then walked away. Yep…
Grant is a broken man. He’s married to a soulless, life-sucking, evil woman who has leverage to keep him tied to her – their daughter. But, when he meets young Bridget one night, and rescues her from a sleazy guy intent on assaulting her, he finally feels a little alive. But, he can’t have her, so he leaves. So what does he do when he walks into his office and meets his new PA and it’s Bridget? Um, let’s just say he does not react very positively to seeing the beautiful woman he can’t get out of his mind, the woman he can’t have because…married. Yep…
I really wasn’t expecting Sordid to be as angsty as it was. But it’s in a deliciously addicting way, even while it’s super frustrating to watch Grant give poor Bridget whiplash when he pulls her to him because he wants her so badly, then pushes her away because he knows he can’t really have her. I wanted him to man up a little, frankly, and do something about his stupid wife, because it was so obvious, at least to me, that she was shady and wasn’t exactly on the up and up with him. But he was so passive, and it hurt Bridget (and his stupid self!!) that I wanted to smack him more than once. Sigh…
Thank God it all worked out because I was weeping with poor Bridget for awhile there, wondering when they’d get their hard-fought for HEA. Sordid is super sexy, super angsty and even sweet and I’ve found myself a brand new favorite author in Ava Harrison. Can’t wait for more!
Sordid: A Novel by Ava Harrison was a great read.
I haven’t read anything by this author before and I do worry sometimes when dipping the toe into fresh waters how I’m going to find the current.
No problemo here, that current swept me along giving me a fantastic flowing ride from start to finish.
Sordid tells the story of Grant and Bridget, unknowingly connected through more than there chance meeting and dumpster dive.
Grant is utterly miserable and trapped with his life and sham of a marriage in name only.
The only thing keeping him out of the divorce courts is his delightful daughter and Hotel business in that order.
He’s also estranged from his family with his so-called pride stopping him from admitting to them they were right about his gold-digger of a wife Chelsea.
All those “I told you so’s” he’s imagined from his father and brother are not helping matters either.
Bridget needs a job, any job after her summer intern position doesn’t pan out and her second chance at a new one ended after she walked out because of Mr Grabby hands.
Well, let us just say she can’t afford to be picky.
She’s already had to go cap in hand to her big sister for her work connections.
And as much as she loves both her sister’s shes sick of being the invisible one.
So when her last chance of employment just happens to be working for her sister’s boyfriends estranged brother.
Well, Bridget hasn’t really got that much choice if she doesn’t want to move back home.
So she decides to just keep it on a need to know basis.
Expecting a lowly general dogs-body position Bridget is amazed and pleased to be bumped right up to PA to the boss himself Mr Grant Lancaster.
That is until she walks in Monday morning to find herself face to face with Her abandoner from the other evening, Dumpster dude.
And he’s not actually that pleased to see her.
In fact, I think its safe to say Grant is a great A Arse to poor Bridget making her new job a bloody living nightmare.
It’s obviously a form of self-preservation to try and keep her as far away from himself as humanly possible.
To avoid temptation.
I felt so sorry for poor grant as soon as I realised what kind of predicament he was actually in and I hated Chelsea, his wife, with an actual vengeance.
It was obvious he was basically a decent fellow with a heavy case of pride.
Though I felt real sympathy here I also wanted to tell him to man the fuck up and deal with his she-devil of a wife.
I felt ultimately there was so much more he could attempt to do before throwing in the towel when he and Bridget finally succumbed to there feelings.
Bridget, I also liked but at times I did find her a tad wishy-washy in regards to her self-image.
I do get it, but she did know the score before getting involved with Grant, so feeling threatened by his wife, well she knew he was married.
The actual relationship between these two when it did get going I loved.
I suppose Initially, I felt a touch sorry for Bridget, the lovely guy she met had turned into a real dick.
So I was so happy for her when things started to head in a more positive direction.
Until they weren’t again.
TOTAL TRAIN WRECK!!!
Is all I’m going to say.
Sometimes going cap in hand to family is not such a bad thing when you’ve hit rock bottom.
I loved that Grant loved Bridget enough to suck up his pride and deal.
It showed the depth of his feeling that he was willing to fight for there Love and HEA.
This was such an emotional read and I really enjoyed reading it.
It was romantic, angsty and different and hooked me straight from the start.
I was provided with an ARC of “Sordid: A Novel ” By the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

After reading Clandestine, I was so excited to hear that we were going to get stories for the other Lancaster brothers. And Sordid was definitely well worth the wait. It was truly incredible!! It’s hard to say everything I want to say about the story, but I don’t want to give anything away. So I will say this: You will absolutely fall in love with Bridget. She is strong. Passionate. Driven. Loving. I just adored her. And Grant…..it definitely took me some time to warm up to him, but once you learn more about him, you will understand why he acts how he does. He truly is a selfless person, and by the end of the story I just loved him more than I can say.
Oh man I could not put this book down. it was so great and I couldn’t wait to go back and read Clandestine. Now I am over here waiting patiently for the last Lancaster brother to get his time to shine lol
I seriously enjoyed the heck out of this book! It was fun and angsty….Just what I was needing!! I loved Grant and Bridget’s chemistry. Their back and forth banter was amazing. This for me was an edge of my seat kind of book that had my jaw dropping.
Oh my… I absolutely loved Sordid! It has been a long time since a story has drawn me in like Sordid did. An amazing, well-written story that takes you on an intense emotional ride. I laughed with this story, felt the absolute heartbreak of the characters as well as felt my blood pressure rise with frustration and anger at the wild antics of one of the characters. Mostly though, I felt love – crazy, true love! You can’t help but hope (and pray and plead with the story gods..lol) that Grant and Bridget find their way through the muck to their happily ever after.
Ava Harrison never disappoints! Sordid will easily be one of my top reads for 2018!
Grant Lancaster is a man who seems to gave it all. Wealth, good looks, and control. Bridget Miller is beautiful and determined to show her loved ones she’s responsible to live her life on her own terms. Grant and Bridget meet and it’s isnstant attratraction at its best. So when the lost of control, the hurts, and the secrets are revealed can they overcome them? I so loved this story . Sordid had me on my toes and I loved ever minute of it. Bravo Ava!
Grant is torn. He is stuck in a love-less marriage and cannot get out. He is estranged from his family all because of her and now he meets Bridget and even though she is everything he wants and longs for he cannot have her. Chelsea gives new meaning to the word bitch. Bridget knows she can never have Grant but that does not stop her from wanting him. She is the only woman, let alone person who is not intimidated by Grant. He has gone through more assistants than anyone can imagine but Bridget wants to prove to herself she is worthy. Tired of living in the background of her sisters she wants to be noticed. She will give this job everything she has. She has something to prove. Turns out she proves herself more than she even imagined. And Grant knows it. He doesn’t want to let her go but he cannot promise her more than today. Happily ever after is not possible for him. Because of Chelsea. Everything he does in life is because of Isabella and Chelsea knows that. She does everything to hold that over his head.
Will his feelings for Bridget push him to change his life and allow him to have that happily ever after. Ava Harrison will keep you glued to the pages. You will shed tears of sadness, anger, frustration, and also tears of happiness. A story you will not be able to put down. Wishing for miracles and happily ever afters. She makes it all come true.
