Good book. Fun reading & well written
Absolutely loved this series and waiting on the next installment! Love Melinda’s adventures with her farm and all the animals. Keeps you wondering what next! When life throws you a curve, God opens doors you wouldn’t dream of and have enjoyed living through all the winter months, all the canning and baking. How about sharing some of the recipes found in Horace’s mother’s recipe box! Thank you Melanie for all the enjoyment I’ve had reading Melindas adventures!
This book allowed me to relax & enjoy the springtime atmosphere in the small village. I forgot my troubles and enjoyed the ride.
I love this whole series and have recommended it to several friends.
This was a nice read for me, with the ‘small’ yet big dramas of small towns, adapting to changes in a new home and work and social interactions. Interesting and engaging without adrenal fueled engagement. Thanks. I will be reading more in the series.
Great book
Melinda buys an old farm for a bargain in her former home town and faces many challenges and joys in her first year there.
She makes new friends and develops old ones with a possible romance in the mix. She learns that she needs the help and care of others to survive and thrive on the farm.
There’s a possibility that she’ll lose the farm to a family inheritance. There are a few twists and turns in this story that keep it interesting.
Why does it so often feel more like I’ve read a chapter, rather than a book?
An interesting story and one that I think will spawn many more books. This first book just gives us a look at the characters the rural community. Many interesting characters that I think we’ll see in books to come.
Melinda lives on a small farm in Prosper, Iowa and works at the Prosper Hardware store. As this is the fifth book in the series, you step right into the story. Key points in this story occur when Melinda purchases her farm, and when Frank discovers that the hardware store extends five feet over the property line. Reading this book is like visiting your hometown and catching up with old friends.
very feel good story
Enjoyable read, if a bit simple of a plot. Good description of farm life and small town drama in middle America.
It was an easy read.
Touching
I have been following the whole series and look forward to each new book.
Very boring
Please keep this series coming. I can’t help but get drawn into Prosper and all the happenings.
This series is thoughtful and original. Day to day life on a farm by a women is trying to change her life in a good way. The struggles and rewards are reassuring that one can try something new and reap fulfillment!!
Great characters, with a down home feel.
One of the best books I’ve read all year!
