SONATA is the third and final book in the explosive trilogy with Samantha Brooks and Liam North. It should be read after OVERTURE and CONCERTO.

This was the perfect ending to the series. I really enjoyed the story and loved the added suspense. The characters are well developed.
absolutely loved the whole trilogy
Great series!
4.5 stars
And the trilogy has come to an end.. I’m really sad to see this story coming to an end. I’ve been with Samantha and Liam sonce the first book and experienced the whole plot alongside them.
The story has been filled with secrets, mystery and hidden agendas from the start. This book is no exception. It looks like not everyone stays dead and people keep resurfacing!
There are so many feeling between Liam and Samantha, and not all of them are good. He resent her choices at the end of the previous book, when all sehe ever wanted is him.
The book flows so effortlessly, that I didn’t realize when it ended. Samantha and Liam found their happily ever after, now is Bethany and Joshua’s turn! Look out for “Audition” coming October 29th!!
DREAMY’S REVIEW
The final installment in the North Security Series, Sonata is finally here! I’ve been eagerly anticipating this book because with how we were left in book two, I needed more of Samantha and Liam in my life!
Skye Warren truly didn’t disappoint when it came to this epic and stunning conclusion to this forbidden, age gap romance! She nailed it and I’m telling you, Liam North is every bit of swoon worthy!
Full of passion, desire, suspense, twists and turns, I could not get enough of Sonata! I loved exactly how everything came together for both Samantha and Liam! Warren kept me at the edge of my seat as I turned the pages, eager for the next!
The balance of angst, steam, drama, and suspense is utter perfection! I love a man with a not-so-easy past and the girl who seemingly has it all. I loved how these two came to terms with their past, with themselves, and how they finally come together.
From the moment I picked up Overture, I knew I’d fall so in love with this series, these characters, and everything about this world! Skye Warren writes such beautifully flawed characters with an intriguing plot on their way to a HEA.
I love how we’re getting Josh and Bethany’s story! I cannot wait to see what holds for them!
Five breathtaking and dreamy stars:
I love skye warren
Sonata was the gripping conclusion to the North Security series and things between Liam and Samantha are explosive as ever. I loved how Liam’s devotion knew no bounds as he attempted to keep Samantha safe and help her achieve her dreams. When my emotions weren’t being toyed with the suspense and intrigue woven through their story kept me on the edge of my seat. I adored the deep bond these two shared that refused to be broken. The balance of suspense and angst made for a truly gripping read that I couldn’t devour quickly enough. After this emotional and dramatically riveting conclusion I’m keeping my fingers crossed this is not the last I’ve seen of the North brothers.
Some things have changed and others stayed so much the same, as this third installment of the North Security series opens. Liam is recovering, despite his best efforts otherwise; he and Samantha are hiding out in Europe, in tiny towns where no one would look for them. But they are together in only the most literal sense, not as in experiencing the relationship she had hoped for. Eventually, it is decided that the only way to keep her safe is to kill the people who tried to kill her. And the only way to identify them is to lure them out of hiding, using Samantha as bait. So once again a tour is scheduled.
There are some old and new friends, acquaintances and enemies in this volume. Bethany and Romeo reappear, as does Joshua, we’re introduced to Frans and Isa as well, all of whom have their own demons and stories to tell. (We also meet my favorite character, Wolf, who makes an all too brief appearance!)
Although there is much emotional and relationship drama to be had, the suspense and political intrigue takes center stage in this tome. We learn a lot more about why Samantha is being targeted. And yet… For one thing, the ending just seemed rushed. One minute Liam is still fighting his feelings for Samantha, afraid to consider that they have a future together… and the next he seems to jump headfirst into a sort of union with her. On the intrigue side of things, the near ending produces a situation which is extremely hard to believe would occur in the ranks of a professional security firm. And then things just seem to be over, with us missing out on much of the true drama that unfolds, only hearing an abbreviated version second-hand. It just seemed a bit lacking; it doesn’t seem like enough was accomplished to guarantee Samantha and Liam’s safety.
Nonetheless, this was a good, solid ending to a long, sad, convoluted, emotionally exhausting tale. The author writes in such a way to make you want to devour the prose of her words, even when you don’t enjoy what is being said. But, luckily, despite many sad, scary, and depressing moments throughout the story, it does appear that Samantha and Liam will at last get to enjoy their own happily-ever-after.
And I am very much excited to read the spin-off, Audition, featuring Joshua and Bethany!
I loved Liam and Samantha’s story! It was exciting! It was action packed. Her mother showing up made me want to scream! I loved when Liam finally surrendered. It was a great story! Highly recommend!
“Language has too many Secrets. It’s more about obscuring than sharing. With music there’s no place to hide.”
Is it possible to choose between love and passion?
Samantha Brooks loves her violin. Music is her life. Until endangering her own life and the life of the man she loves. After the events of the end of the last book, hiding and leaving the music career seems to be the only solution. But getting back on stage, besides being dangerous and tempting, may be the only chance to live in peace again.
The narrative begins with a slight suspense, as the reader cannot even imagine what will happen or how and what facts will unfold, while sensing that something big is about to happen. But nothing that happens in the course of the book meets this expectation.
Despite the appearance of new characters and the reappearance of old ones that have the potential to win their own book, the great villain is not revealed or manifested. A good story, but one that disappoints because it had a plot which could be sensational.
As always, it’s a pleasure to read one of Skye Warren’s books. Her heroes are strong and enigmatic men, the women beautiful and strong. There is usually a clash of wills, the man is an alpha who pursues to dominate his woman but finds she is not to be owned. In this one story, the hero is a broken man but you don’t realize it because he’s a soldier, honed by the military. His training has defined him and he appears fearless but the memories of a broken childhood and abandonment by his mother have made him believe that he can’t love because he will lose. Liam loves Samantha; he loved her like a father when she was his ward, and as she grew his feelings changed, now he loves her as a woman. There are dangerous people after Samantha, thinking she has information that could damage their clandestine operation. Liam wants to protect her but the only way to lure the criminals out is by using her as bait.
The book is fraught with tension as they are facing a final hurdle, on both sides. Liam is making plans to out the criminals and Samantha is making plans to convince Liam to give them a chance. He feels he can have her right now, but not forever; she wants him to believe they are forever.
This book was so yummy, in between preparations and activities following their plan, Liam and Samantha are enmeshed in their own web of pleasure and seduction. We also see some glimpses of Josh, the middle North brother, enamoured of Bethany but not getting near. He’s the one-night stand guy and he knows she’s the forever kind. However, there’s an attraction difficult to resist. We see them looking at each other, making some advances and retreats, always hot sizzling chemistry but they’re still at the playing with each other’s attractions. I really hope they get their own book because I want to read where this leads!
I felt that the book didn’t completely solve all the issues related to Samantha’s pursuers so I really hope there’s another sequel where we learn what happened. I also didn’t understand why they were staying at the duke’s house instead of their own safehouse. The final part of the book felt a little rushed and sort of inconclusive.
In spite of this, this was a fantastic read with magnificent parts where the brilliant prose shined and delighted. There were some parts that I absolutely loved, like when Samantha has a staring contest with her violin. She hasn’t played for a long time since Liam got shot and she’s gearing up her courage to take up playing again. So she’s staring at the violin, for days, and seeing who wins. Epic!
This is the last part of Liam & Samantha’s story. His brother Josh and Bethany would be the secondary characters. It is jammed packed with action. North Security is trying to keep Samantha alive, due to a threat to her life because of her father. Liam, at one point, finally lets go of all the guilt he has felt for years, enough to stay with Samantha. I would have liked to have read about their wedding, though. It was a great series. I didn’t want it to end. Looking forward to Josh & Bethany’s book.
3.5 Stars!
The conclusion to Liam and Samantha’s story. Can they find the love they so desperately need or are they too broken?
I have been waiting for this since book 1 and I thought it was a bi underwhelming.
I LOVED the progression of Samantha and Liam’s relationship. They started at the speed of light and I liked that they sort of kept that pace. It felt natural and honestly I wanted to shake them and push them in to a HEA since book 1 so this was a dream come true.
Samantha actually grew into an all around badass and I love that for her. She grew so much since he beginning and I really like her story arc. They way she loves and supports Liam is unparalleled and I think she was the perfect fit for him.
Liam was still the growly bonehead till the end and I dig that more than I should. He deserves all the happiness and love in the world and I love that he’s finally getting it.
I think some of the questions were left unanswered and the mystery part of the story was kind of abandoned to give these two a HEA. I really REALLY wanted some concrete answers and not getting them was disappointing.
I think we as a group need to have a detailed discussion about Josh because that man is driving me crazy and he hasn’t even gotten his book yet. I NEED!
An on the edge of your seat, enthralling, and all-consuming trilogy by Skye Warren leaves you breathless with anticipation and craving more. This was an epic love story with the perfect ending to Liam and Samantha’s love story. It is filled with love, angst, mystery, super sexy and steamy love scenes that burn up the pages. I was completely engrossed in the story. I loved Liam’s fierce protectiveness and Samantha’s drive to go after what she wants. The chemistry between them is scorching hot. I loved the push and pull. My only complaint about this book is that it is over. I highly recommend reading the trilogy! It is addictive! Skye Warren is so talented and does not disappoint in delivering a phenomenal read!

Ok. I love Liam & Samantha.
I cannot wait to read more about Josh & Bethany.
This book picks up a month or so after Concerto ends….
First. I loved this series. And I love all of her books.
Second: I’m confused as hell. What happened? What’s the code? Why her dad? Her mom?
Finally: I definitely recommend this series but wholeheartedly hope some of the missing details show up somewhere.
I did love Liam’s declaration!!!

I joined this group and realize the pre-order copy was missing a chapter. It does tie up some questions. I hope the rest are covered in audition.
Samantha and Liam are back and the danger and tension is as high as ever. Liam is still fighting his attraction to Samantha whilst I’m shouting on the sidelines to just give in. Skye writes taboo love so well and I as a reader have felt their connection in every book. With good secondary characters and a tease for the next book this was a good conclusion.
Well this Trilogy has been my first by Skye Warren and as much as I enjoyed her writing, the characters and the story across Overture & Concerto I felt it was inconsistent in it’s intensity. There were scenes that were magical, clear, concise, descriptive and ones I remember vividly followed by sections of the books that felt rushed or lacked a connection for me; Sonata was no different.
There were some magical moments in the third and final book in the trilogy. Liam and Samantha’s connection was much stronger in this one compared to Concerto. He finally let himself love her openly and you could feel the protectiveness he felt for her beyond that of a guardian. One of my standout moments was a simple interaction away from the main story line, where Samantha finds a concert programme signed by Dubussey. The way Ms Warren wrote this scene and how Samantha felt was poignant, how Liam read her feelings and knew how to respond to her, he was gentle and tactile and the perfect gentleman in this moment – it was magical.
Where the book fell down for me was in the plot points that have built up over the last 2 books regarding Samantha’s parents, who has been hunting her, Liam’s real relationship with her father etc. It just culminated to well nothing, literally over in the blink of an eye in less than two pages at the end of the book; I was none the wiser as to what went on. I also found myself wanting to know more about Josh and Bethany than Liam and Samantha, which isn’t really the aim of secondary characters; but Josh drew me in through Concerto and even more in Sonata.
I am glad I read the trilogy overall and I enjoyed Ms Warren’s writing; but the consistencies in plot follow through and character connectivity and chemistry just allowed my brain to stray and I didn’t have that urge to pick the book up once I put it down.
This is the final book in a 3-part series by Skye Warren. The first book, Overture, was a 5-star read for me. The book primarily focused on the complicated relationship between Liam North and his ward, Samantha Brooks. Samantha is an 18-year old violin prodigy. I really enjoyed seeing their relationship develop in book one.
The second book, Concerto, was a 3.5 star read for me. Samantha is on tour but danger is following her across the globe. Liam stays close by Samantha to keep her out of danger. This book is focused far less on their relationship and more on the suspense (Samantha’s dead father may not be dead and may be a spy).
I’m not sure how to describe the third book which is more like a 2.5 star read for me. It doesn’t focus well on their relationship or the suspense. It is almost like Skye Warren didn’t know how to finish the story. Samantha and Liam are in hiding while they try and figure out who is trying to hurt her. Sam and Liam get their HEA but there are so many plot holes–many storylines that don’t get explained or wrapped up.
Amazing start to this series but it sadly flatlined for me.
I’m gonna be very honest here:I can’t even begin to describe how disappointed I’m feeling over this book. And I’m really sorry for that because I was honestly invested into this story.
It started good for me.After the events of Concerto Liam and Samantha are on the run. They know that Samantha is in danger and they plan to use her as bait on her next performance in Paris. The tension between Liam and Samantha was a good one,I was enjoying it.The weird thing that happened along the way were exciting and they made me wonder how will things turn out at the end. But,the we came to said end and I was beyond disappointed.Absolutely one of the worst endings.
The relationship between Liam and Sam,with all it’s up’s and down’s,forbidden aspects and uncertain feelings, ended so abruptly that I was shocked. In one moment they are talking about how Liam is not good enough for her and in the next moment he is asking her to marry him.WTF???I was pissed.
And the whole mystery involving her father, what happened to that part of the story?Did I missed it?What happened?Did it end with that minor clash between John and those three guys in the LAST chapter? If so,what did they tell them? What happened????
I;m just so disappointed and frustrated that I can’t even explain it.
3.5 Stars
Sonata , the conclusion to the forbidden taboo romance of Liam and Samantha, picked up right where we were left off from Concerto. They were still in danger and they made plans to eliminate the threat once and for all.
The story continued to explore the complex love affair between Liam and Samantha. They were at the same standstill – Samantha was determined to make Liam surrender to his love for her and Liam was restrained by regrets and guilt. Their passion and sparks were palpable but the push and pull was getting a little old and frustrating.
I applauded to Samantha’s bravery and courage. It was delightful to see how she has grown from an innocent young girl in Overture to a beautiful confident young woman who took what she wanted in Sonata. Liam’s protectiveness and consideration was sweet but his stubbornness was infuriating at times. He was dancing the same tune and keeping Samantha at arm’s length for so long, I was stunned when he changed his mind so abruptly. I was also a little lost and couldn’t pinpoint what exactly led Liam to give in.
I was a little disappointed in the ending of the book regarding the threat. I felt that it was a bit rushed and down played. I was expecting a big showdown but the threat was dealt with ambiguously with a brief mentioned that it was eradicated.
Overall, aside from the little disappointment with the last installment, I enjoyed this trilogy and would recommend it to anyone who like a suspenseful, twisty forbidden/taboo romance.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
