Nothing could go wrong with this scenario. I watched my family’s vineyard fall under the auction hammer, holding back tears of grief and rage. What should be mine went to a stranger. I want to hate Kane McCallum and his dark blue eyes. He has everything: looks, money, even a big, lovable dog. Now he’s offered me a job managing the vineyard—my vineyard. I can stay in my family’s home, but only if … vineyard—my vineyard.
I can stay in my family’s home, but only if I work for him.
I’m a billionaire looking for something more.
I don’t want to care what happens to prickly Meg Villier, but I see hard work and courage in her calloused hands.
Passion in the curve of her generous mouth.
Tenderness in the way she treats my dog.
I want it all: my future billions, the vineyard… and Meg.
Wonderful characters, setting, and story. Toby Jane is a magical writer. I love the Somewhere Series books, and never want to leave their world! ~ Reviewer

SOMEWHERE IN WINE COUNTRY…Toby Jane
Great story, the characters seem real, human and flawed. Kane trying to find himself. Meg the heartache of losing grandparents and now the family home, and vineyards was overwhelming for her.
Having only a class in college, he wanted this vineyard. He wanted to learn, and would hire someone to teach him. The smell of rich fruitless almost made him dizzy. The old creaky farmhouse drew him, as even Meg with her lost look. A story rich in emotion, and how trust and love came about. A definite winner for the author and readers.
Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
I loved this book. The characters are so likable and they grab hold of your heart. The story line keeps you engrossed and has you turning the pages and reading continuously until you are totally lost in the story and forget about the outside world. I love the animals that are in the book and how they are part of the story. This book held me captive until I finished reading it and has me waiting impatiently for the next book in this series!
OMG! OMG!! We are getting our spin off of the somewhere books. I am so happy to read this book. We start this book off with Rafe and Ruby’s oldest son Kane. I love everything about him. He is sweet and strong. When he came across the vineyard I just knew it was for him.
Meg, she has so much sadness in her life. She is all alone and you wonder what is going to happen to her.
Kane offers Meg the job as manager of the vineyard. Boy do the sparks fly with them. You know they going to either hate each other or love each other by the end of this story.
This story has the love story that makes you feel it. You know the butterflies, blushing, and a bit of tears. I was struck with hearts from the start to the end. They have a very awkward but sweet romance. They have to over come a lot of hard work and stupid relatives to make this relationship work.
You are going to be ecstatic at the end of this book. There is so much happiness your can’t help but have a big smile on your face as this story wraps up. I can’t wait to see Colton next. He is going to get hit just as hard I believe.
I have enjoyed all of the previous Somewhere books and their tales of the Michaels sisters. So it comes as no surprise that I was eager to read this book and it did not disappoint. From a less than perfect first meeting through a tenuous budding friendship to a real relationship forged in fire, Toby Jane captures all of those feelings expertly. Set in the amazing wine country of California, the descriptions are so vivid, you can almost smell the grapes on the breeze. Sit back, take a trip and get wonderfully lost in Somewhere in Wine Country.
Meg and Kane…
Oh I do love romantic family series and Somewhere in Wine Country starts a new generation of romance stories from Toby Jane, following her Original Somewhere books we now start with the eldest of Ruby and Raith’s boys Kane.
Kane heads of with his gorgeous dog Flea on an adventure to find himself, what he doesn’t expect to find is Love but honestly when you know you just know right…
Meg is sad, angry and lonely, for oh so many reasons, she just lost both of her beloved grandparents, now she is going to lose the winery and she has always felt unwanted by her mother… Meg seems to have hit rock bottom but then she meets Kane and well, things start to look up… Until they don’t again…lol
What I loved most about these two was the awkwardness from both of them at times it was sweet and adorable…
I also loved the miscommunications and their stubbornness they really were made for each other.
The ending was just beautiful with family coming together.
I laughed, I cried I got angry and I loved every page.
This was a total change of genre for me and whilst it took me a little while to settle in for the most of it I enjoyed it thoroughly. we see a male lead and his dog and the female lead going through grief and the sale of her family home which she had only just come back to. Kane is looking for a change in career and stumbles across the vineyard. we follow Meg and Kane’s ups and downs and it certainly becomes a non-stop read. if you are looking for an easy read then this is for you.
I’ve read all the books in the some where series and although it’s not necessary to read the others it’s a good idea so as to get a little background. I absolutely loved this book as it had a little bit of everything all in one. I truly enjoyed reading and learning that the process of harvesting the grapes is not as easy as it seems
What a delightful read! The characters have heart, the setting is beautiful, and Flea is a wonderful treat. Toby Jane has yet another winner and we all have more to look forward to. Hard to put down once you begin, and it leaves you eagerly awaiting future books in the Somewhere series. As an ARC reader, I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to read and review this book.
This is a great, sweet, heartwarming romance, from one of the best authors. The storyline is fantastic, with a cast of characters that will have you wanting to go back home to visit. Meg’s family is in the wine business. But, when her grandparents pass away and leave a mountain of debt and foreclosure she is forced to say goodbye to the only thing she has left. Kane is a family billionaire who wants something to call his own. He buys the winery and falls in love with it and all that comes with it Including it’s former owner. If you want a sweet romantic romance than this is definitely your book.
A sweet romance with a little heat, a big ole goofy dog and a strong finish. its definitely a hea! I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for book two.
I’ve been looking forward to this book ever since Toby Jane first announced it. I can always count on her to whisk me away from the chaos of the world. It was great to catch up with the McCallum family and see how much they’ve grown over the years. Kane is a McCallum through and through. His heart is bigger than the family bank account. I could appreciate Meg’s reasons for being stubborn. Doesn’t mean I didn’t want to smack her though. I really enjoyed Kane and Meg’s journey of trust and overcoming loss. I’m looking forward to hearing more about the McCallum men.
I made the mistake of starting this book just before bedtime…needless to say I stayed up most of the night reading this book. Once you start you can’t put it down.
Meg’s family vineyard is up for auction and Kane is looking for something to do with his life. When Kane wins the property in the auction , he offers to let Meg stay on the family property as long as she works for him.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.
Somewhere in Wine Country takes you on a heartfelt journey of two people looking for answers in their life. Meg has inherited a wine grape growing operation from her grandparents, only to find it is in foreclosure and headed for auction. Kane and his dog Flea (a character himself!) are on a road trip searching for a venture he can happily pour his heart and money into.
Personal foibles, misunderstandings, family heartache, and natural disaster all play a part in these two growing into a solid love. Somewhere in Wine Country fills your heart with the lusty and growing relationship between Meg and Kane, while also taking you on the passionate exploration of viniculture. Brava to Toby for a story well told!
I loved this romance taking place at a winery. Meg has lost her family business and Kane has bid on it and won . He hires her to be the manager and a very complex relationship ensures. Many twists and turns and interesting personalities . Love the character development in this book. He is a billionaire and does not tell her. I have read the prequel of Kane ‘s parents romance ( loved it also ). I am an ARC reader and am giving an honest review. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I am addicted to Toby’s books. The Somewhere series is a lot of fun to read, Great romances, interesting places to visit , and endearing characters.
Well, Toby Neal has done it to me again! I don’t much care for romance stories, but I loved Neal’s “Paradise Crime” series so much, I decided to read one of her romance-themed books. HA! Then another, and… well now I’ve read them all, including this latest one, “Somewhere in Wine Country” (written under ‘Toby Jane’). SO DANG GOOD! Not only are her characters like regular people you might meet in the ‘real’ world, I always learn things from her books. In this one, I learned about what it takes to grow good grapes for wine. I always find myself looking up a few words she uses in her stories, even though I know what they mean from the context, but because I might not have seen them elsewhere. I can pretty much guarantee that you will like this one, no matter what your preferred genre is!
I was so excited to read this book. I loved the story of Kane’s parents, Somewhere On St Thomas, and this one did not disappoint. Meg is devastated by the loss of her family’s vineyard and home, but has no choice but to let it go. Kane buys the property but is taken with Meg’s strength and hires her to stay on as manager and stay in her house. They make a great team, but each has their own baggage and issues to work out. I loved these two together, and DOG!! I’m a sucker for big dogs and the one in this book is huge and amazing. The descriptions of the land, the house, the people, the things involved in the growing and harvesting of grapes, were all so vivid it felt like I was there in person. I am looking forward to reading the upcoming books in this series as well.
Well this was a new genre for me. I truly enjoyed the story and the characters are likeable and well defined. What I enjoyed as well was a very realistic description and feeling you get of the location (California winemaking region), you really get to feel the weather, the heat of the wildfire, even the smells, it’s so easy to immerse into the book. I know it’s a cliche to say it but really you can read a book from start to finish in one go and then eagerly wait for the next in the series. This will be a great series and great new find for me 🙂
I absolutely loved this book as I do all of Toby Jane’s books. I am honored to be a part of her ARC team but trust me I wouldn’t give 5 stars unless I absolutely loved the story. I couldn’t put it down (shouldn’t have started it at night in bed) lol. This story takes place in the Napa Valley region in California which has a special place in my heart as I lived about an hour away for three years and often made the trip to share with visiting friends. Ms Jane tells the story of a vineyard in foreclosure being bought by a handsome incredibly wealthy young man from New England who has no idea of what he is getting into except is smart enough to keep on the previous owner as his manager who also is a lovely intelligent woman who had just lost her grandparents from whom she had inherited this winery. The description of wine country by Ms Jane has me longing to return. Therevvare twists and turns that I did not expect and the ones I expected did not happen. This is a stand alone but I could definitely see it turning into a mini series because it left me wanting for it not to end quite yet.
Toby has written a wonderful story. As a resident of the Wine Country, I can tell you that she really hit the mark on her descriptions of locations and the overall feeling of life here. Her characters are so believable , flaws and all. Kane and Megan felt very real to me and I cared about them and rooted for their happiness. This is definitely a stand alone story, but there is a great connection to a previous book Somewhere in St. Thomas. I can see several more stories coming in this series and I can’t wait to read them all! I can honestly highly recommend this book. I received an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.
