We were an unlikely couple: the cocky athlete and the preacher’s daughter. Once he finally won me over, he wasn’t supposed to break my heart.Ten years later, he’s back in our hometown. Only now, he’s different. A cunning businessman, a big-city resident. …and the father of someone else’s child. When he left town, I stayed. Now I’m a teacher by day and aspiring artist by night. Dating the one … night. Dating the one man he hates more than anyone else: his brother.
I have no business falling for him again; he traded this life for one he thought was better. One that didn’t include me. But history has a way of repeating itself, and old flames? They don’t always go out.

Where do I start with this review…. I had so many feelings reading this story that I was all over the place with it. At first I didn’t like it then I liked it then I loved it. I will tell you why I didn’t like it first because Cameron falls in love with the cocky athlete and they have this great relationship until Jeremy decides he wants more than this small town has to offer so he leaves and leaves Cameron behind without a second thought. That had me a little pissed off because he could have asked her to leave and she might have but he didn’t.
Then the second thing I didn’t care for was Cameron started dating Jeremy’s brother. OH HELL TO THE NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where is the girl code in this. That is a big hell to the no for me. I was pissed reading about them and how he treated her. She knew she loved Cameron and couldn’t let go of him so she replaced him with his brother. That right there is a huge no no for me. But I got over it and continued to read and when Jeremy came back to town with a son in tote I loved it. I wanted them to get back together again because they were meant to be together it just wasn’t their time before. They both needed to grow and learn to trust and learn what true love was before they could come together and really give their all.
This is an amazing story that is told in past and present which I love because we get all the feels of before and after. Jeremy and Cameron had to experience the hurt and had to grow as individuals before they could become the perfect couple.
Second chance romance from high school sweethearts are always adorable to read. This one was a bit ok. Cameron and Jeremy started out as friends in high school that later developed into much more. They were the complete opposites and had somethings in common but still made it work.
After high school graduation Jeremy had bigger plans and left Cameron behind. Fast forward couple years and he’s back but it wasn’t the best reunion. It didn’t even feel like Jeremy wanted to reconnect and Cameron of course had moved on. I think what hurt Jeremy even more was with whom she had moved on which was a bit wow. These two were still at different places in their lives and wanted different things which was prohibiting them from moving forward together. They had some emotional moments and then they were some tense moments.
After so many going around in circles these two finally settled together but it wasn’t easy. It seems like they weren’t on the same page until the end. I think if this story had Jeremy’s POV we would’ve gotten a better understanding of what happened in their past.
2.5 stars
Somewhere Between Us was unfortunately just an okay read. I had really hoped that I would have liked it more than I did because the synopsis is what really drew me in. I love second chance romances, there is something about them that I can’t help but want to read, so when a book just doesn’t live up to what I had hoped it to be it makes me disappointed. Now I don’t know if this is the author’s first book or if she has written numerous ones but for me she was new. Cameron and Jeremy, I just didn’t feel any chemistry between them and I wish I had, I really wish I had. Something was missing, it just didn’t all click into place for me like it should of. While I am sure I am in the minority with my feelings on Somewhere Between Us, I am sure others will like this more than me.
This was a nice second-chance romance.
I loved the plot and the writing, but I have to admit that characters got on my nerves on more than one occasion.
Jeremy and Cameron were high-school sweethearts. She is the preacher’s daughter and he is cocky football player. They are unlikely couple but they did fit together. The problem is,they started their relationship at the wrong time:the end of high-school.Cam wants to stay in their little town, and she does have a good reason to stay, and Jeremy chooses to go to college in Boston. This put an end on their relationship.
Ten year’s later Jeremy comes back to town.He is a different person now,and so is Cameron but they still love each-other.Of course they first need to grow up to be able to be together.
Cameron missed a lot of opportunities in her life. She had so much chances to become someone,to show her art to the world and she chose to stay in her little town. She is a good person but really insecure one.And I hated her insecurities. In most occasions they were useless and uncalled for,she didn’t have a reason to be insecure.I loved Cam as a character but this lead her to overlook some really stupid things and, like I said before, miss a lot of opportunities in her life.
Jeremy seemed like a really stupid guy at the beginning of the book.First he show no interest in Cam,and then all of a sudden he wanted to know all about her.The thing that I liked about him was the way he was with his son, everything else thou is different story. He left Cam for a really stupid reason,in every book I will find the reason he stated as stupid one.You can’t make decision in someone else’s name. You just can’t.He regretted it later but it was too late, and somehow I’m glad that that happened.
I think that these two had fallen in love in a really wrong time. And with all the time they spent listening to each-other it felt like they didn’t heard anything,or they simply didn’t understand the other one.I feel like they both needed the ten year separation.
Overall this was nice book,it wasn’t to heavy,it had a nice plot and some annoying characters but I enjoyed it at the end.
