Zack Finding my teammate in bed with my wife made the decision I had been fighting with for years easier. It’s time to move on. A fresh start and a new NHL team in a big city. Most importantly, it’s my son Jack’s best shot. It would be both of our best shots. Denise After a bad childhood, I made sure I would succeed. The problem is I die a little with each patient I lose. It’s part of my career … shots.
Denise
After a bad childhood, I made sure I would succeed.
The problem is I die a little with each patient I lose. It’s part of my career at Hudson Children’s Oncology Hospital, but it doesn’t make the sting of loss any easier.
Seeking anything other than a life saved isn’t on my agenda until a NHL player walks into my hospital with his son.
We’re officially off script the moment we meet.
If this love is anything, it’s unscripted.

Funny, romantic, what’s not to love.
OMG This book is just Ahhh-maz-ing!! Natasha has really won the Stanley Cup with this series!! Her words slay me and evoke such strong emotions.
I absolutely love and adore everything about Denise, Zack & Jumping Jack and their story from the first page to the amazing epilogues! It is such a beautiful and incredibly sweet love story. Not only was the connection between Zack and Denise special and wonderful but the connection between Zack’s little boy Jack and Denise was so heartwarming. Just when I would think my heart couldn’t get any fuller, more goodness just kept on coming. I really can’t say anything more except this is a must read but make sure you have tissues.
Man this book.
I’m a sucker for single parent stories and this one tugged at my heartstrings and had me all in my feelings. Zack was such a good father to his son, Jack. Zack was just a good person over all. Denise came in and gave them both what they needed and even what they didn’t know they needed. I loved Denise’s character as she was smart, strong and selfless.
This story had such a delicious slow burn and I loved the build up, character development and connection between Zack and Denise. You could feel their chemistry oozing off the page. Jack stoled my heart in this story and I loved how it was the perfect balance with all three characters. At times this was an emotional story to read as well. I found myself tearing up several times and I needed a minute to compose myself .
Natasha Madison has such a way with words and once again I felt like I was apart of the group. This is book number two out of four that I have read in this series and every time I read I’m sucked in right until the very end. I never feel like I’m lost and shows Madison’s strength as a writer. Madison’s writing style has only gotten better and she is quickly moving up to be one of my favorites. Even though this story was more on the emotional side we did get some comedic relief. And I must say the last sentence brought tears to my eyes. It truly did. I won’t be forgetting about this book for a very long time. Definitely a favorite read of 2018!
Something So Unscripted is an emotional second chance at love for single dad, Zack Morrow. Life and love cannot be scripted. Zack knows this better than anyone as he tries to be at the top of his game as an NHL player and get his son Jack the best treatment from the best hospitals and doctors around.
“You have a light in you that shines so brightly it can’t be dimmed.”
I loved Denise. She came from a very difficult childhood, she is so caring and intelligent and makes an amazing children’s doctor. She is just what Zack and Jack need in their lives. It couldn’t be scripted better!
-5Stars!-
I sit here sniffling and trying not to cry tears of happiness… I held it together until the very last line of book!
Natasha Madison always blows me away. Each time I finish a book I always think she won’t be able to out do herself yet she keeps proving me wrong! Something So Unscripted is the best book she has written to date.
This very special story has a little bit of everything. Its sweet and souful; powerful and emotional; sexy and heartwarming. The story of Denise, Zack and Jack is all those things and so much more.
The story is at times heartbreaking and at others hysterical! The Horton/ Grant crew certainly know how to throw in some timely comedic relief. Like all of Natasha’s books Something So Unscripted can be read as a standalone buts it’s so much better when read as part of her amazing Something So series.
Cheers and FIVE Fighting Stars!
One of the most heart wrenching and yet still so heart warming books I have read! Natasha Madison had me held captive by her words. I could not put this book down. Zack is seeking a new start for himself and his son Jack when he finds his wife in bed with his teammate. Denise is a doctor in the oncology unit and has worked very hard to get where she is today but dealing with the real possibility of losing a young patient every day can just rip away a piece of your heart each time. An amazing story of love and tragedy, hope and helplessness and be warned that it must be read with a box of tissues.
I loved this book! I cried during 50% of it, but it was so worth it!! what a sweet and heartbreaking story!! one of my favorites of this author for sure!!
Natasha delivered another phenomenal book. Something So Unscripted is absolutely perfect! I fell in love with Zack and Denise’s story immediately and did not put it down
Zack…oh how he made my ovaries explode! He is perfection. They way he puts his son before everything else will make your heart melt. He is an amazing character.
Denise has always been selfless and put everyone before herself. She never planned on having an attraction to one of her patient’s dads. Will she be able to fight the connection?
Zack and Denise have an absolute beautiful journey and I loved every moment of it. Natasha took my emotions on a roller coaster ride with this one. I alway love getting to see all of my favorite characters from previous books! This is a definite must read and I highly recommend it.
Something So Unscripted is one of those books that goes straight to your heart. Everything about it just hits you right in the feels. I cried more than once reading this. From heartbreak to sweetness so beautiful it hurts, Natasha Madison knows how to pack an emotional punch. So grab those tissues and get ready for a book that will have you glued to the pages from start to finish.
Zach and Denise are both incredible people. Zach, a father who loves his sin with everything he has. Devoted, kind, and loving he’s a dream come true. Denise is one of the most selfless characters I’ve ever read. There’s no halfway with her, she loves and she loves big. The two of them bring so much beauty together it’s impossible not to fall completely in love. My heart feels full after reading this. I’m going to have the book hangover to end all book hangovers now!
What an amazing 5 star story that had me reading almost non stop for hours on out. A story that attached itself to my entire being.
Zack is leaving being his old life and will start a new one with his son. He would do anything for his very sick son, Jack. Denise loves unconditionally with her entire heart, a paediatric oncologist. She instantly falls in love with little Jack, of course the father comes soon after.
This was an amazingly written story that sucked me in the heart of these perfectly created characters that made me feel so many different emotions. Beautifully written with a great storyline that flowed well. I love stories with children in them, they sweeten the story. Bottomline is this is a must read.
Story told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
NATASHA!!!! This book, was absolutely EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING!! I finished this book with my heart so full. There are literally no words that can be said that would do it justice. You surprise me every time. Just when I think you can’t outdo your last book, BOOM!! You do it all over again. This book broke my heart on so many levels, I cried tears, I had constant goosies, but you put pieces of my heart back together page after page. There were times, I had to stop just to collect my thoughts, because I was feeling way to much, but in such a good way. I love how you can make a love story with so much love, but also so much heart ache.
Zack. Goodness I don’t ever think I have read a hero any where close to him. He was just everything. He is so thoughtful, loving and giving just to name a few. He has the kindest heart I have ever read about. He is not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve, not afraid to o what needs to be done. He knows what he wants, and he doesn’t question it. He loves being in the NHL, but not as much as he loves his son Jack.
Denise. Perfection. She had a rough childhood, went through things that no child should ever have to, but she turned that into a positive. Wanting to do better for the world she becomes a Oncologist at a children’s hospital. But to her, it is not a job, it is everything. She will stop at nothing to save a child’s life. She adore’s children, she fights for them when they can’t fight, speaks for them when they can’t speak. She is a strong heroine, but is not afraid to show her emotions when the need arises.
Zack knows no bounds when it comes to his son Jack. He will do anything to keep him safe, to keep him healthy, even if that is moving hundreds of miles away to do so. Nothing is on on Denise’s agenda but saving a child’s life, until Zack walks in with Jack at her hospital. Soon the boundaries start to blur as they realize their souls are connected on a deeper level. As the days go by Denise finds herself in love with her new patient, and feelings towards his daddy aren’t too far behind. I don’t want to say more when it comes to the story. because Zack, Denise, and Jack deserve to tell their own story in their words. But I will part with this. This story is so deserving, and so heartfelt and worth every piece of your attention.
CONGRATULATIONS NATASHA, YOU WROTE ANOTHER BESTSELLER!
“With her, I let it go.”
One of the most EMOTIONAL romances I’ve read this year! Natasha Madison continues to AMAZE ME with every new release! Trust me when I say, SOMETHING SO UNSCRIPTED will stay with you LONG after the last page has turned.
Ms. Madison surprises me all of the time, but it was her release of SOMETHING SO UNSCRIPTED (Zack and Denise’s story) that just BLEW ME AWAY! This goes beyond what she’s given us in the past. This is a new side to her writing. This is packed with so much emotion, so much heat, so much raw, grit, and vulnerability…there was absolutely NO WAY I was putting this baby down, not even for a second.
Her words captivated me. Her characters stole my heart. The story took me to a place where I could be vulnerable, right alongside the characters, and put my absolute trust and attention in her words. I can’t even go into the actual story with you guys and not completely break down in tears. It was THAT potent…THAT real…and THAT spectacular! Even though there were tears coming out of my eyes from beginning to end, the author still managed to make me laugh and smile through those tears. It’s an incredible gift to have. I can’t even imagine the strength it took to get Zack, Jack, and Denise’s story down on paper, but I can tell you that their story WILL inspire hope in many reader’s lives. Take a chance on this one and I promise you, you won’t regret it. You’ll love it. You’ll lose yourself in it, and you’ll embrace it with all of your heart and soul.
Not only is this Natasha’s BEST WORK to date, it’s one of my absolute FAVORITES of the year!
5+ Stars!!!
Something So Unscripted is the latest PHENOMENAL, HEART-STEALING, SOUL-SHATTERING read from an author who just keeps getting better and better with every single book she writes! Natasha Madison, I’m convinced, can write ANYTHING….from laugh-out-loud hilarious to rip-your-heart-out angst! SSU is a perfect blend of humor, heart and HEAT and is, imo, her BEST novel to date!!!
We meet Denise in Book 3 in the Something So series (Something So Irresistible *Note: All books in the series CAN be read as standalones) She is Max Horton’s sister and she is probably my fave heroine, so far! She’s a children’s oncology doctor and she has a heart of gold! She’s also feisty, loves without reservation and with her whole heart and I want her to me MY bestie! As for Zack….not ONLY is he HAWT as all get out but he’s an exceptional father to Jack, who stole my heart like no other!!! I also cried BUCKETS of tears, I mean UGLY, SNOTTY, can’t-catch-my-breath tears (especially at the 44% mark) Zack is EVERYTHING and he’s my new fave NM BBF!!!
This book is ABSOLUTELY FILLED to the brim with ALL the FEELS and I don’t know HOW Natasha will ever be able to top this one! It’s soooooo much more than a funny, swoony, SEXY,
heart-wrenchingly beautiful love story that will stay with me FOREVER!!! I can’t recommend this gorgeous book highly or strongly enough….you NEED to experience it for yourself!
Single dad romances are one of my favorite subgenres. What is cuter than a handsome man who will do anything for his children? Amiright? Ovary exploding reading. However Natasha Madison takes the well loved trope and adds so much more to it. Her story creates a wonderful and loving tale about finding love expectedly interwoven with the side of the story that parents undertake for their children.
First and foremost, this is a romance with a lovely HEA. The epilogue is bliss, and will delight the reader with the final sentence. How this romance struck me was the development of Denise and Zack’s relationship. No need for any added relationshipy drama. They already had their emotional hands full in dealing with Jack’s needs. What was lovely to see is two adults handling this attraction, running with it, because damnit, they deserve happiness too.
Something So Unscripted is a book not to be missed. As much as I loathe series jumpers, you could read as a standalone. But why!!!! Pick up the series and read them all! Are you already a fan? Add to your TBR and read it on release day 😀
Something So Unscripted is one of the most amazing books I have ever read and if I could have give it 10 Stars I would, it captivated and drew me in and there was no way I was putting this book down before I read the very last word. All I hope for now is that my review does this story justice. I have read every book Natasha Madison has ever published and I love them all but this one took me to place I have never been taken to and for me this is her best book ever…….
Zack Morris finds his wife in bed with his friend who also happens to be his teammate and the first thing he does is ask his team for a transfer to New York, he evens takes a pay cut to get the move he needs because not only does he need to get away from his ex he also needs to get his little boy settled and started on more treatment for the cancer that is taking over his tiny body ……. that’s all I’m telling you about the story apart from there is a HEA.
A beautifully written stiry that covers a parent dealing with something no child should ever go through, yes I cried in fact I sopped and if I’m honest writing this review is bringing tears to my eyes but even through the tears there is love and laughter in this book. This author has a way with words, words that take you through the sadness and make you smile, this is a book that everyone needs to read and I certainly will Be gifting a few out on release day. Thank you Natasha Madison for writing Something so Unscripted and giving us what has to be the read of 2018…..
Zack caught his wife in bed with one of his hockey teammates. I’m so glad he broke things off with her. Zack and his son Jack move to New York, which is a good opportunity for them both.
Zack and Denise meet and I love their story. So much love and caring. She loves Jack as her own.
I was so touched by this book. Tears of joy and happiness ran down my face. I was inside the book from start to finish. I could feel the characters.
This is one of my favorite books this year.
5 shining stars for Natasha Madison.
