Allison Grant
Never fall in love with a sports star. That’s what my stepfather always said. He told me athletes are complicated and moody—that the higher their paycheck, the lower their morals.
As public relations for the New York Stingers I know exactly what he means, but I can’t seem to say no to a friendship with one beautiful, damaged man.
What started out as hate turned into something else.
We tried to stay away, to keep our distance, but the pull was too strong.
Something forbidden turned into something so irresistible.

I am seriously considering a new category. I seem to be drawn to men who are seemingly the growly, grouchy bears. The jerks we love to hate and love. And Mad Max is not an exception but the definition of the rule.
I believe that if we aren’t, we all want to be a little bit of Max. Protective, driven, loyal and sincerely wishing we can say exactly what is on our minds. And we’d all need an Allison. Someone to temper the bluntness and soften the edges. It’s their characters – how they love to hate each other before they can learn to love each other that drives the reader to turn the pages. Their chemistry is undeniable and leaps into our hearts.
Now, series police here: I pretty much insist that you at a minimum read book 2 (Something So Perfect) first before diving in. Max’s character ARC really starts there along with Allison and the entire set of secondary characters involved. I think to truly appreciate the journey starting with book 1 is on your to-do list.
You don’t need to be a fan of the hockey world or any sport to appreciate thestory. Natasha Madison gives the readers a full scope romance that embraces humor, tension and chemistry for a perfect to add to your TBR. 5 out of 5 stars
Max and Allison’s story starts off rocky. Mostly because of the crappy history between max and her brother Matthew. Which she even admits they both got screwed on that one. But his bad boy persona has led to her being a ‘no fly zone’ and his teammates sister. But he can’t stay away. And she can’t either. The 10-11 year age gap is nothing because she is his reason for breathing and smiling and he makes everything so much better. They hide everything for a pretty long time. (I think about a month-ish). They they get caught after eloping. But honestly. The only thing I didn’t like was when Matthew never apologized for calling max a rapist. When he was set up too. Like come on. Other than being a dick for saying his name with Matthew and sleeping with someone who then turned around with a vendetta and beat herself up to claim rape and assault. Of which Matthew was charged with before it being dropped cause of no proof, max was a victim of her wrong doings too. Matthew should have apologized. Then cooper made it seem like he took away her ability to have a wedding and pick out dresses with her mom and let them walk her down the aisle. Like Allison wasn’t a participant. He asked every step of the way what she wanted and if she was happy. And she was. That’s all that matters. I’m glad they got their HEA. Can’t wait for next book.
Audiobook review:
I absolutely loved Mad Max! We first meet him in Matthew’s book, Something So Perfect, and he just stole my heart. He is broken and lost, but such a protective alpha who loves hard. He knows Allison Grant is so out of his league and just plain untouchable, but the connection is undeniable. Allison is excited for her new job, she knows its perfect for her, but dealing with Max Horton is the last thing she wants, right?
Right from the start, there is undeniable chemistry between Max and Allison, but after everything that has happened between Matthew, her brother, and Max, nothing could ever happen between them. But as they spend time together, Allison sees a different side of Max. Their story was a slow burn enemies to lovers story with so many feels. You can feel their love coming right off the pages. I just devoured their story and I never wanted it to end.
Joe Hempel and Cassandra Myles were absolutely wonderful as Max and Allison and truly brought their story to life for me. Though technically each book in the series could be read/listened to as standalones, it is so worth reading them. I loved them and we get a peek at the previous couples. Such a great story about second chances, love, hope and family.
Happy listening!
FLOVED
Each book just keeps getting better and better – I absolutely loved Matthew and Karrie’s story. They were perfect for each other
Another brilliant addition to this series.
I couldn’t wait for Allison’s story, I didn’t expect any love interest she would have would be smooth sailing, what with a over protective father like Cooper and overprotective brother like Matthew but when the love interest is your brothers nemesis, its definitely complicated.
Something so irresistible is an enemies to lovers romance. Alison starts work for the team doing PR, she is very close to her brother who is one of the players on the hockey team so of course she is aware of the trouble Max got her brother into and if you have read the previous book you will know what I mean. Alison hates Max, has to work with him but is so strongly attracted to him too.
It’s a story of push and pull until finally they both give into their attraction for each other but then they have to keep their relationship a secret unless they want all hell to break loose.
Max is such a swoon-worthy hero and definitely not the bad buy he was painted to be in the previous book.
I loved it, I listened on audio and enjoyed the narration. What I have noticed about Natasha’s writing though is she repeats scenes so at the end of one scene it will be repeated in the next chapter from the other persons point of view, which is a little annoying, different, but annoying.
This series is interlinked but each book can be read as a standalone. I will definitely be reading more books in this series, its a good hockey series that focuses more on the relationship than the sport itself and each book always finishes with a hea.
This has been my favorite book in the series. Seriously to turn such a despicable character as Max was in Something So Perfect and turn him into someone so perfect is a job well done. I went from hating him to loving him much like Allison herself. The 2 bring out the best in each other. A total story of redemption. These characters just felt more rounded than the other characters is the other books did but I guess that comes with it being the 3rd in the series. It’s such a great little world the author has created and I am excited to read more about the family.
I literally couldn’t put it down and I am already obsessing over the next book after reading 1 page of it. While my head is still full of all things Max and Allison. Seriously Natasha Madison is my newest addiction, which wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t have a million things to do and an inability to tear myself away from her words.
So we ended the last book with Matthew and Karrie hearing the shocking news that Max and Allison had eloped. And I was pretty sure that Max had intentionally set up Matthew for a rape charge in the previous book. And was just generally an all around acehole. Obviously we knew Aly well from the last two books and we all wanted her to get her Prince. Which lets be honest none of us thought could be Max.
But colour me surprised and tickled pink that everything wasn’t as it appeared with Max. Because the way he loved Allison was everything. From the beginning of this book I loved him for her. He was …… gah I can’t even find the right words. They just worked and I loved every word.
This series has me so addicted and I really am going to jump right into the next one.
If you’ve been reading this series in order which I highly recommend you already got a bit of a sneak peek of Allison’s story!
Allison is Matthew’s baby sister and Cooper Stone’s step daughter, she truly didn’t stand a chance with a very overprotective big brother and step dad, too bad she falls for the NHL bad boy Max.
Max is playing on the same team as Matthew and the two have never seen eye to eye on pretty much anything! They have regularly be feuding and they don’t expect that to end anytime soon. Allison starts working public relations for the same team big brother Matthew plays on, unfortunately Max plays for the team as well.
Max and Allison’s story starts off very rough definitely an enemies to lovers story, there are some assumptions made on both ends that makes it very difficult to ever think these two can be more. After a few stolen moments here and there these two start to realize maybe there is more here than either of them ever thought.
Max has always had the role of protector, first with his baby sister and then with Allison. Their story is the most rocky of the series no doubt but also one of the ones that took me by the most amount of surprise. I can’t wait to see what Natasha has in store for us next!

Something So Irresistible (Something So Series Book 3)
By: Natasha Madison 4 Stars
******** May Contain Some Spoilers ********
I have purchased the complete “Something So” series. I decided to write a review for each book in the series. So here is my review for: Something So Irresistible (Something So Book 3) by: Natasha Madison.
This book is the love story between Max and Allison. If you read “Something So Prefect” then you know Max and all the things Max did to Matthew. Allison is Matthew’s sister and Cooper’s daughter. On Allison’s first day of her new job, she literally runs into Max. She isn’t the nicest to Max (you can’t blame her with his past). Max is a total douche bag with Allison. But they both feel it, the spark. They try to fight it but can’t. If Cooper and Matthew find out, it’s going to be World War Three!
•••••• I highly recommend this book/series! ••••••
Well, before, I thought Max was a dick. I don’t know about you, but just like Max, I’ve done things I wished I didnt. Acted totally wrong. He stepped up to the puck, and scored. Mainly with Allison. The couples in this series rock. Each big headed jock has a strong woman supporting him.
This is book 3 of a series. I kind of think you should read the first 2 so you can get a feel for what is going on. I loved this book. I loved the storyline. But, what I loved the most is how Max was reformed. I despised Max in Matthew’s book, but Natasha did a great job of fixing that up front. I cheered as Allison and Max fell for each other. I loved their banter, and I loved how hard Max loved her. Lots of hot scenes. Dual point of view. Two epilogues. Just awesome. I hope that we get some more of this series.
Allison and Max started as enemies thanks in part to what he did to Matthew in his story but slowly built a friendship that eventually turned into love. I didn’t think Allison would be able to get over Max’s past but once she did and started to get to know him the more she opened up to the idea of a relationship. I love that there are more books in this world so we keep getting glances of the family and how they grow and transition through each phase.
5 ’Angel’ Stars
Yes! Finally! I really love this series but I had to wait to give a 5 star rating until now. Max charmed me all the way! I can’t help it! Onto the next book now!
This was a good series
*4,5 stars*
I’ve discovered this author after a recommendation and I am always looking forward to something new from her. This story is definitely worth the read and I can’t wait to read the next one in this series!
Allison is looking for something more and when she gets a job offer she can’t refuse, her life is about to change. When she runs into bad boy Max, she thinks he’s just that. A bad boy with a bad reputation. Someone who messed up her brothers life a while ago but the more time she spends time with him, she sees more in him than the outside world does and slowly she falls for him.
Max hasn’t had it easy and will do everything for his younger sister, even if it gives him a reputation of being the bad guy every single time he does something wrong. But there’s more than meets the eye and when he meets Allison, he’s not interested in anything related to his past. But the more they are together, the more he’s enthralled by her. Can they find love or will their past come between them?
This is a wonderful sweet and sexy story with tons of chemistry between the characters. There are also entertaining secondary characters. This is the first book I have read by this author and now I plan to read more of her books.
I loved this book. I would recommend the entire series.
Can the past mistakes prevent future happiness?
Max Horton was captain on the ice. Until Matthew Grant takes his place. There arises, then, the dislike between the two teammates, which only increases with the irresponsible behavior of Horton. In one bad and unthinking decision, one night, Max uses Matthew’s name. And, unbeknownst to him, the consequences of this act may threaten his career and his happiness.
Allison Grant is public relations. Daughter of a former hockey player and younger sister of the New York Stingers captain. She accepts the team’s public relations job. She just did not expect to be drawn to her brother’s archenemy. An arrogant jerk who is always bumping into her and being rude.
The prologue to the book is to kill. It starts super sweet and ends uncertain. Was it all a mistake? The author then takes us on the journey of how and where it all began.
On this journey to the not-so-distant past, we know better than Max Horton and Allison Grant. While struggling against the growing attraction that creeps in to arise, in the most irresistible manners and ways, we understand the reasons why they try to keep away from each other.
The build of the couple’s relationship is slow, consistent, and believable. Good old friend cliché gives the faces. And even after taking on the chemistry and then the feelings, the couple still have a hidden relationship.
Bold in the right measure, the author knows when to detail and when to leave room for inference, a very positive point in an age where many sin for the excess. The end is cliché, the turnaround is dramatically tense and the epilogues are cutes.
The book has a good bit of humor in the right places and gives good laughs. And sighs. You can expect many sighs along the way. Reading for those who love romance with contemporary themes and without excess of eroticism.
I love Hate/love story, they are my favorite. Don’t you love it when the main characters want to kill each other and think each other is an asshole or a bitch? Then they get to know each other and like each other and then really like each other.
I love how their relationship evolved despite the many challenges mostly from her family (Allison’s brother Matthew doesn’t exactly get along with Max a team member and for good reason) Max doesn’t think he good enough for her but I’m glad with Allison’s love he see that he is.
This is just a swoon good feel read. This was so bloody good I read Something so Right straight after, hello can we talk about how alpha Cooper is and what an awesome character Parker is.
Now I’m into Something so Perfect and Matthew is so like Cooper. This is a new fave author for me, loving all her books.
Another five star book from the brilliant mind of Natasha Madison. I have to say she did a fantastic job of redeeming the bad boy/sworn enemy. I hated Max in Something So Perfect. He was an asshole and certified douche bag. After reading this book…I freaking LOVE him. It’s obvious that Max is a strong alpha male and we have Allison, a strong heroine who refuses take any crap from him. The love hate relationship and banter between them is on point. And course, Natasha provides high sexual chemistry which is hot, hot, hot!!!! In my opinion, this is the best and most romantic book Natasha Madison has ever written. The best part of this book…was seeing Allison eventually tear down Max’s walls which allowed him to display his romantic side. I definitely swooned when that happened!! Natasha pulled out all the stops for that. Something So Irresistible is very sweet, genuinely romantic and I loved it from beginning to end.
