Max Horton They call me an outcast like it’s a bad thing. An asshole byproduct of a shitty upbringing. That’s … existence.
Allison Grant
Never fall in love with a sports star. That’s what my stepfather always said. He told me athletes are complicated and moody—that the higher their paycheck, the lower their morals.
As public relations for the New York Stingers I know exactly what he means, but I can’t seem to say no to a friendship with one beautiful, damaged man.
What started out as hate turned into something else.
We tried to stay away, to keep our distance, but the pull was too strong.
Something forbidden turned into something so irresistible.

Wow! Oh my freaking goodness after that phenomenally shock worthy conclusion in Something So Perfect (although these books can be read as standalones, I strongly recommend reading all of them because they are all so AMAZING) I just knew that I needed to get my hands on Something So Irresistible because I had to know what happened between Max Horton and Allison Grant and how these two completely opposite characters ended up together!
When readers are first introduced to Max he was, please pardon my language…a real DOUCHE. So you can imagine my apprehension as to whether or not he could possibly be redeemed in my eyes, but I’ve got to say that Natasha Madison sure knows how to grab ahold of a readers heart and wiggle the bad boy into our hearts. Seriously he now holds a special place in my heart and I couldn’t get enough of him.
Allison on the other hand I knew (from reading the other books in the series) so I was super ecstatic to get to know more about her as a grown women and watch her character blossom throughout this story! I thought that her and Max were the perfect match and these two had a tight grip on my heart throughout!
This story give readers that slow burning kind of romance and will leave them satisfied until the very end! I must say that I strongly recommend picking up this book and discovering the chemistry between these two amazing characters! Get ready to fall in love with Max and Allison today!
Natasha Madison….What can I say….I am such a HUGE fan of this amazing talented woman that when Something So Irresistible fell into my Kindle I happy danced….It was excitement overload because I knew that I was in for the ride of my life.
And guys what a ride it was.
Max is the bad boy of the Stingers.
His past is as sketchy as they come. Trouble with a capital ‘T’.
But nobody really knows Max. They don’t see the scars he carries, they don’t see the pain that he lives with.
They just see Max, the guy who everyone needs to stay away from.
And Max is okay with that. While people keep away, Max can concentrate on his last contracted year with the Stingers. Hopefully they will re-contract him. It’s what Max is striving for.
But while Max convinces himself that the next year will be all about his hockey, he doesn’t realize that a young, independent, gorgeous woman is about to walk into his life and change everything in it.
She will be his game changer.
Her name….Allison Grant, the sister of the infamous Matthew Grant…Max’s enemy.
God help you Max, your world is about to be turned upside down.
Guys what a brilliant read. I loved every single minute of it.
Max Horton….What a guy. It was instant love for me (yes I know he’s a bad boy and all). Such a charismatic character, who is all kinds of delicious, naughty, humorous, but with a heart as big as they come.
Allison Grant….What a firecracker. She’s all kinds of freaking awesome and I loved her from the start. So strong willed with such a gentle and beautiful nature.
And put these two together….They were absolutely explosive.
But what touched me the most was this. Although Natasha has the ability to make me laugh (and she did quite often), with this novel I also found it highly emotional, often finding myself wiping my tears away and why….
Because in this novel we get to see that even though we have pasts, we have made mistakes, we have hurt people around us, we are all still capable of love and still capable of being loved. We are all capable of feeling without guilt and overcoming our pasts to make our present happier and more meaningful.
A beautifully, heart-melting, intoxicating read that I can’t rate high enough.
Thank you Natasha for giving us Max Horton and Allison Grant….Their story was simply irresistible!
5 stars
Everytime I get my hands on this authors book, It consumes me I fall right into the story. I have to finish and obsess over every word. This story is about redemption ,about how finding your person makes you want to be a better person, it’s about accepting love, and be damned the consequences. It’s about standing up for and sticking by your person. This book got me all in the FEELS. I despised Max , he was hated , and now I am like, I am so sorry. This is the third book in this series and they just keep getting better and better. Allison Grant is hired to be the the PR for the hockey team, and from the start Max is a douche bag and Alison well she is so off-limits her brother Matthew is the Captain of the team and her Dad is Hockey great, Cooper Stone, and Max gets that and just wants to do his job and stay off the radar. Allison seeps into your soul she is the kind of woman everyone loves ,she sweet and real, and unforgettable and thats a problem. Allison knows she can’t get feeling for Max her brother and Dad would freakin flip, but Max is completely Irresistible. My Top Favorite Read EvEr!!!
Loved it. Could not put the book down. When I had to could not wait to pick it up.
I love all the books in the series. This book was very realistic,I like the fact that they didn’t just forgive and forget like you would do a happily ever after book.
5 Listening to Her Heart Stars!!!
The minute I finished Something So Perfect and we got that little teaser at the end I KNEW I HAD to have Max’s story as soon as possible. I mean, he’s Matthew’s nemesis and he’s fooling around with his sweet little sister?!?!? I knew the fireworks would be going off in oh so many ways. And I was right! Ms. Madison delivered a story that is at times heart rending, swoonworthy, sexy and dirty!
Allison is hired to be the PR for the New York Stingers and on a daily basis she has to deal the surly Max Horton. Little did she know her reticence to deal with him was really sexual attraction…until they finally faced off so to speak and give in to their desires….
“And this moment right here with Max’s lips on mine, withhis tongue dancing with mine, I know this kiss right here is what a kiss supposed to be. A kiss that, if anything happens, I know will be the best kiss of my life.”
I knew for as much as Max was a grouch, he also had it in him to be the man a woman like Ally needed. And boy was I right! I loved watching these two dance around their feelings and their magnetic pull towards each other would have to finally result in the ultimate culmination of their feelings.
There were so many times in this book that I cheered for our H/h because I knew that Allison could heal the pain that is deep in Max’s heart. And oh my goodness, did heart hurt for him. There’s so many layers to this man that once we scrape off the surface I couldn’t do anything but love him.
Time and time again, as he gave in to his feelings and need for Ally I knew they’d get their HEA but at what cost? I was overjoyed when Ally stood up for him when confronted with her feelings proving that love really can conquer your deepest hurts. Ms. Madison has written the perfect book for Max and Allison and it really was an irresistible read because the minute I finished I wanted to read it again and again.
I was not a fan of Max…especially after the way he was in Matthew and Karrie’s book. When I learned that he was getting a book next I thought there was no way she could redeem that big pompous jerk. There was absolutely no way in hell. I went into reading this book swearing up and down that I wasn’t gonna like him and there was definitely not going to be any swooning over that jerk. Sigh I was so completely wrong. I fell for Mad Max and hard. He had his moments of being a jerk but the times he was sweet…lord have mercy was he ever ::swoon::
Allison had just landed the job of a lifetime being the PR girl for the Stingers…the hockey team her brother plays for. At first when she met Max they rubbed each other the wrong way and their relationship started out rocky. They eventually reached an uneasy truce and tolerated each other. As they spend more time with each other they realize that there is an attraction brewing between the two of them. I loved the slow burn and when they gave into their attraction…the sparks flew and it was so hot. Max wormed his way into my heart and he will forever stay there.
I loved everything about their story and is one of my favorite books to date by this author. I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next and I highly recommend this book to everyone…its a phenomenal story that will tug at your heartstrings. Well done!!!!!
Something So Irresistible is Book #3 in the Something So Series. You don’t have to read the first two books to follow the story, but there are intertwined characters that you will come to know and love.
To say that Max and Allison start off on the wrong foot is an understatement. There are things that happened between Max and her family in the past that I won’t elaborate on, so it was hard to believe these two could be anything but enemies. It was also hard to believe that Max could win my heart. He was standoffish, not likeable even when he was on his best behavior and carried a huge chip on this shoulder. However, it didn’t take long to see what was really underneath that hard exterior of his.
The initial interactions between Max and Allison were rocky at best, but once they both let their guard down it’s easy to see why they’re intrigued with one another. She’s smart and sassy, keeping him on his toes. He’s gentle and thoughtful when you least expect it. While driving each other crazy they slowly become friends. The chemistry between them builds at a delicious pace, I thought I was going to burst. Max has a soft spot for this sister Denise and will do anything for her, so we know that he’s loyal and unwavering when it comes to the ones he loves. Max slowly but surely weaved himself right into my heart, and he did the same thing with Allison.
The journey between Max and Allison is emotional, heartwarming, sexy, funny and all of the above! You will laugh at the crazy banter between them and want to yell at them both for being so stubborn at times. Natasha will pull you into this romance and not let you go until you are enamored with Max and Allison. Rest assured you will be swooning over Max and his Angel. #MadMax stole my heart
Max and Allison have a complicated past, and definitely one that makes it easier to be enemies than it does to be friends. The details of this past are actually a spoiler to another book, so I am not going to say much about that here, just in case you are reading this before the other books in the series. They are standalone, but there are spoilers.
Natahsa Madison writes a lot of the friends to lovers trope, and it works…but it works particularly well in this title. Often, the hero and the heroine in her stories devolve into fights that involve penis balloons and itching powder…and while these are funny, they also detract a little from the intensity of the story. And, while I am in the minority, sometimes I think they go a little farther than I am totally comfortable with in a romance, if that makes sense. Not enough for me to not read the next title (obviously) and not enough to make me dislike the author, but a little farther than I like.
In this story, Max and Allison don’t like one another. But, they are really no games, or attempts to make the other look bad. But, they are both difficult to one another, in the way that you are when you are not comfortable around someone, and in the way that allows the reader to realize there is emotion there under the dislike.
Allison is the reminder for Max of a past misdeed, of something that he knew was a bad idea at the time and has come to regret more and more as time goes on. Allison still holds a grudge, because the thing Max did? It was big. It was life changing, it was an experience that will always stay with Allison and the people it impacted. It’s not something you just walk away from when it is over.
And, most importantly, while you are able to forgive him for the mistake in his past, you understand why Allison struggles to do the same. I loved this tension. it’s real, it’s understandable, and it lets you relate to both of the characters at the same time. Allison is falling in love with Max, and she is struggling to move past the thing in his past…while Max is falling for her, and struggling with the same event.
I seriously can’t say enough about how much this worked for me. It gave a depth to not only the enemies, but to the romance of the story, to how much they loved one another to be able to put it in the past. It moved the story well.
The writing was strong, the pacing was consistent throughout. I felt the romance, the friends, and the enemies section flowed smoothly. The dialog worked and the characters were believable.
The author told me this is her favorite story that she has ever written…and, as it is the best thing she has written to date, it is not hard to see why Ms. Madison feels this way.
I recommend this title.
I’m going to be honest and say going into this book I was 100% sure that there was no way I was going to fall for bad boy, (jerk) Max. And even part way through reading this book I would have sworn that zero swooning was going to happen….BUT… I definitely fell and fell hard!!
“I can breathe easy. With her, I can smile just because. With her I know what love is.” I look down at Allison. “With her love I know that I can face anything,”
Something So Irresistible is almost / kind of slow burn, but as soon as it heats up, its ON FIRE!!!
“…I don’t want to pressure you. So I go at your pace.”
“Max, any slower and we are going to be senior citizens finally going to third base.”
I absolutely loved this story! If you’ve read any of her books you will know that Natasha Madison really knows how to write a kicka** heroine and Allison is no exception! She Is pretty darn fierce and gives Max a run for his money!
“Thank you for loving me and for being something so irresistible,” she says as she leans in and seals it with a kiss.”
Something So Irresistible can truly be read as a standalone, but the characters from these books are all related and all show up. Plus some of the events overlap. And since all 3 books are amazing, you are going to want to start Right at the beginning!!!
5 Stars!!!
Natasha Madison gets better with every book! I love a good enemies to lovers type book and this was perfection! Max and Allison don’t like each other that much and it’s been in the making since the previous two books. So yeah, while this would work as a standalone, I think you’ll find this book is so much better if you read the first two in the series. You just get more of the background and you can’t help but form bonds and opinions on the group!
Madison has really developed a wonderful writing style. I love her books and how real they feel. One of the best things about Something so Irresistible is that Allison is completely justified in her feelings and they aren’t just pushed away for a good tussle in the bed! Max and Allison talk (GASP) they don’t just sex their problems away and *POOF* all fixed. The problems linger and time helps, as does the communication. I love that the most in this book. There’s no hiding or lying.
Working with each other turns out to be difficult with a searing attraction. Somehow Max and Allison find themselves in a budding friendship. From their lovely new friendship, something else… something more… flourished. Madison really developed a beautiful story and showed a gorgeous process of finding the person for you. Thankfully, we had some comic relief tossed in and about too! It was the perfect combination of humor and romance.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
This is the third book in this series and I swear I love each book in a different way. This book is about Matthews little sister Allison and Max. This book is not love at first sight. No this is absolutely a slow enemy to lovers book. I absolutely LOVED this book. It’s the kind of book you start and finish in one sitting because you literally will not out it down! Max is my new book boyfriend for sure!!!!!
I have been waiting for Max’s story for what seems like ages, but really since Something So perfect, where i could not stand the guy. I had to know what Max was all about, what his thought process was, and what his intentions were. But, now that I have read Something So Irresistible, its hard to even articulate what needs to be said, because there is NO words that will do this book justice. I am just in aw of Max and Allison’s story. I thought Cooper had my heart, then I thought Matthew did, but now without a shadow of a doubt, Max 100 % has my whole heart. Natasha, I don’t know how you do it, but every single book gets better and better. It is hook, line, and sinker for me. You throw the bait, and I latch on and you reel me ALL THE WAY IN!!! Once I start I CANNOT stop, so I try to take my time, because I don’t want your books to end, especially with Something So Irresistible, but I had to know how this book would end, and I was not disappointed, because it was too irresistible.
Max Horton had a really crappy upbringing that made him the man he is. He has made major mistakes, which lead to him not only making enemy’s in the hockey world, but to the outside world as well. But, that doesn’t change how he see’s his only family: his sister Denise. He adores her, is super protective of her, and would move heaven and hell if he had to for her. Trying to grow from his mistakes, he intends to keep his head down and make this year, “his year”, with no distractions.
Allison Grant is the new PR manager for the New York Stingers. Growing up in a home where her step-father is known as the hockey God and her brother Matthew falling into his footsteps, she knows all to well not to fall in love with ant sports star. Her family his her life, and she will side with them every time.
Allison knows all to well how Matthew and Max’s relationship is like on and off the ice, so she tries to steer clear of him, but when she throws accusations at him because of his past wrap sheet, Max becomes an unbearable *** . When Allison starts to notice a different side to Max, a softer side, she starts to feel a pull to him that she has never felt. Max thinks Allison is way out of his league. So he tries to push his feelings aside. But what happens when two people are constantly around each other, staying in the same hotels, flying in the same planes, and are riding the same bus??
Something So Irresistible is an enemies to lovers book, a book about finding someone else’s true colors. A book that will make you fall so effortlessly in love with the characters. A book of hope, a book of love, and a book that will have you laughing one minute and swooning the next. I absolutely adored this book. #MADMAXHASMYHEART
So, to start with, I have to say that I didn’t think I would like Max very much (because he was SUCH a d*ck in Something So Perfect, Karrie & Matthew’s story) but I was willing to reserve judgement…after all, this IS a Natasha Madison book and she has NEVER disappointed me! I think I fell in love with him around about Chapter Two (this story is told in dual POVs and Chapter Two is from Max’s) My heart couldn’t fall fast enough and I fell HARD for this messed up but INSANELY lovable hunk!!
This story has it ALL. It’s a not-quite-enemies-to-lovers romance that put my heart (and ALL my emotions) through the wringer AND on a roller coaster ride that I didn’t want to get off of! Allison Grant is the perfect, strong-willed, spunky and feisty heroine to take on the Alpha, sexy-as-SIN Max Horton and I fell JUST as hard for her as I did for Max! I ADORED the funny, sexy banter that makes this a trademark Natasha Madison read! But it’s soooooo much more than that; I SWOONED, I LAUGHED OUT LOUD, I wanted to STRANGLE a certain brother and father a few times (Matthew and Cooper, natch 😉 ), I CRIED tears of JOY and FRUSTRATION and at the end, I was TOTALLY, COMPLETELY AND IRREVOCABLY in love with #MadMax!!!
I will leave you with my favorite quote from this book and tell you, you NEED to get this AMAZING, emotional, FUNNY and sexy book!!! You won’t be sorry!
“But I love you, heart, body and soul. It’s yours, angel. Forever. Marry me. Be my home. Let me be your home. To my last dying breath I promise to be your home.”
Something So Irresistible is the third book in the Something So Series and it’s the BEST book of the series, in my humble opinion.
I absolutely love series and even more I love a good series of standalones. Those stories that can stand completely on their own, you don’t have to read them in any type of order but if you do you, the reader, is usually in for some great fun. I love when you meet people in previous stories and are them able to either a) get their story or b) visit with them periodically.
The Something So Series has revolved around professional hockey players, their families, friends and enemies! Each of the three stories are truly interlocked. In book three we are re-introduced to the adult Alison Grant; we have previously watched her grown from a precocious four year old to a teenager and now a beautiful adult. We are also re-introduced to Max Horton, the most hated man in the Something So Series.
Alison is everything you want in a heroine… she is spunky and beautiful, independent and intelligent. She can certainly hold her own when it comes to her overbearing Father and Brother and an entire professional hockey team.
Max is… Max is an enigma. And Natasha Madison is able to do the unthinkable. She is able to make him lovable and perfect.
This story is truly about Max and his growth. This is story about second chances and true love. It is a story that makes you feel…
I don’t know how Natasha does it… each of her books is better than the last. Something So Irresistible is by far my favorite of hers and its written beautifully. I cannot wait to see what Natasha has next in store for her readers!
Something So is a series I love so I was very excited to get my hands on book 3 Something So Irresistible and OMG Natasha Madison has outdone herself with this one, I didn’t think this series could get any better until I met Max and I was blown away. Max is just the type of man I love, he is broody, hot and also vulnerable but will he ever let anyone see that side of him.
Max and Allison are constantly sniping at each other but could that be a coverup for the sizzling chemistry that seems to simmering under the surface and will they ever get past the sarcasm. The more time they spend around each other the more you really feel the chemistry and emotions building, the banter and looks had my heart skipping a beat. This is not just their love story this is their journey and it’s a journey you will want to be part off, it will make you smile it will melt your heart and at times it will have you screaming NO but in the end it will leave you feeling all fuzzy inside so do yourself a favour and one click this brilliant story. Natasha Madison you blew my mind away you really upped the ante with this one.
I love Hate/love story, they are my favourite. Don’t you love it when the main characters want to kill each other and think each other is an asshole or a bitch. Then they get to know each other and like each other and then really like each other.
I love how their relationship evolved despite the many challenges mostly from her family (Allison’s brother Matthew doesn’t exactly get along with Max a team member and for good reason) Max doesn’t think he good enough for her but I’m glad with Allison’s love he see that he is. This is just a swoon good feels read. This was so bloody good I read Something so Right straight after, hello can we talk about how alpha Cooper is and what an awesome character Parker is . Now I’m onto Something so Perfect and Matthew is so like Cooper. This is a new fave author for me, loving all her books.
