Well written! Story line kept me going till the very end!!
A second chance romance. Ethan and Delaney were engaged, but when Delaney’s father was accused of running a Ponzi scheme, Delaney broke the engagement, in order to protect him from being associated with her family’s scandel. Now they are thrown together as maid of honor and best man in a friend’s wedding. Can they work out their differences ?
This was really twisted and a whole lot of screwed up people. I ended up wanting to know more about them at the same time as wanting to knock sense into some.
Really easy reading and a slightly unexpected ending. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Loved the entire series!
You keep cheering for the main characters to get back together and stand up for themselves. I could not put it down
Just a nice read for a snowy afternoon. Enjoyed it.
I just skipped over the seamy parts.
I had really high hopes for this one and for the most part they were fulfilled until the last quarter of the book. Five years ago there was a scandal that rocked the world of the elites. Delaney and her family were in the middle of it all. She ran away then because it seemed her only option. Ethan had no idea why Delaney wouldn’t let him protect her, why he wasn’t enough for her, why she couldn’t trust him. Now, along with all their friends from that time, they are thrown together again through the wedding of two of their best friends.
You have the ever hopeful matchmaker, the typical evil step monster, the overbearing father, manipulation, lack of communication, loss of hope, etc. There is a lot going on while at the same time very little going on. It’s the same old problem, a resolution and hope, then the same old problem. Rinse and repeat. Everyone blames Delaney for abandoning them when really they all did the same thing, especially Ethan. He ran away from all the trouble and has been hiding every bit as much as Delaney. I’m still not sure that anything was really resolved at the end of the book.
Something Old is entertaining and you won’t really have much trouble finishing the story. The characters are interesting and there is enough going on, even though it’s really the same thing, that it doesn’t feel repetitious until about the fourth time around. By then you’re almost at the end. I will continue to read the books in this series, but I don’t think I’ll start the second one right away.
I felt that it was too drawn out and then ended too abruptly.
I thought that the book had great bones but it just had one angst too many for me. So sorry.
Something Old is a second chance at love story. A group of friends from college are brought back together for another’s wedding by. For Delaney, it’s nerve wracking to even think about. She distanced herself from all of her old friends after her father was found to be a con artist & swindler. Society not only turned their backs on her & her mother but physically attacked them. She didn’t want to drag her fiancée down with her so to protect him, she broke their engagement. Now she’s supposed to be the maid of honor & her ex is the best man.
Ethan couldn’t believe that Delaney broke up with him when she needed him most. Didn’t she trust him? After she broke off the engagement, Ethan went to his family’s vineyard & stayed there for several years. He’s beginner no to be known as quite a vintner. Now he has to face Delaney again. Are the feelings gone? Do they take a chance at happiness?
I really enjoyed this story. The plot isn’t simplistic but takes twists & turns just like real life. The characters have well developed personalities & the interactions between them all are realistic. The hurt feelings come through the writing perfectly as does the chemistry between the couples. There are a couple of sex scenes but they are tastefully done & easy to skip if you want to. I can’t wait for Book 2!
