Vincent Owen. He was gorgeous. He was cocky. He was a complete and total douche bag, and I was head over heels for him.He left to become a champion, a warrior amongst men. And though he said he would call, I never heard from him again.I never admitted to him how I felt. I never told him he made everything inside of me that hurt go away and everything that was wrong with me feel right – even if it … right – even if it were just for a little while. And that when he left, he took a little piece of me with him, a piece of my heart I could never get back.
That was then, and this is now and none of that matters anymore.
It all changed the day my daughter Violet was born. I moved on, life became about her and keeping my family ranch running. But now he’s back to pay his respects to the man his best friend considered a father. A man our whole town loved, and he’s about to find out that’s not the only thing waiting for him in Evansdale.
Together again it’s time to face the truth. For both of us.
The biggest question now is, is he ready for something like this?

Something Like This is one those books that flows so naturally you’ll want it to continue. Vin’s embraced the opportunities in his life—except the one allowing him to stay with Von. He’s had the chance to grow and understand what his life is missing, stopping the decisions to fight for the relationships that are the most important to him from seeing forced. Von’s learned to rely on herself, beaming fiercely independent. It takes a lot of love to break down her walls, learn to trust and find a way to admit “This” was love all along.
I absolutely love Vin and Von’s story. They have been my favorite Evansdale County couple. Each book in this series can be read as a stand-alone. I love the chemistry between the two characters and all the banter.
Favorite quote: Vin ~ “It was like the pull of two magnets being drawn together. It was powerful. She did something to me. She wrapped around my heart like roots to a tree and stayed there.”
Vin and Von were just messing around. Young and trying to find their way in life, Von knew that Vin wouldn’t be sticking around. So she didn’t let herself admit how much she loved him. Vin was scared of the way she made him feel. So when the opportunity came, he left promising that they would keep in touch. Von tried more than a couple of time but only got silence in return. Eight years later, Vin gets a call from his best friend to find out his mentor has passed away. He drops everything to go home, hoping that he will see Von. When he sees her, he finally knows for sure that she is what has been missing from his life. Now, will he be able to convince her that he is home to stay?
Oh my Vin is one hot MMA fighter who gives it all up, happily, to be with the woman he loves and the friends he left behind. The chemistry between Vin and Von is so vivid and tangible, you will have to fan yourself. Von has a ton of good reasons why she shouldn’t let Vin back into her life. Luckily, he wins her over by putting in the time to win her trust. Alyne Hart is so very talented, her words painting a picture so vivid you feel you are there. If you enjoy sexy romances with a ton of heart, do yourself a favor and check out Something Like This and the Men of Evansdale County series!
Vincent and Siobhan use to be an item before he packed up and moved to the city to pursue his dream leaving behind the girl he loved. It’s been eight years and a lot has changed. When he gets a call about the death of a man that was like a father to him he comes home. Siobhan never thought she would see Vincent again and now she has some explaining to do. Will her secret drive an already distance between her and Vincent further?

*WARNING* do not start reading this if you have any kind of plans because you’re not going to be able to put this book down! Alyne Hart’s wonderful writing had me glued to every page completely addicted to all things Vin and Von. Second chances, surprising secrets, and some of the best romance ever Something Like This is definitely now a favorite I’ll be going back to reread countless times!
Vin is seriously one of the best heroes ever. A man who not only is deliciously sexy and super swoony, but also knows his flaws, owns them, and tries to make up for past mistakes. Who couldn’t fall in love with that?! Especially when he’s also a man who rides a motorcycle in a kilt. Von was an extremely strong, but also very stubborn woman not that anyone could blame her for that stubbornness. She’s been pretty much on her own trying to hold her family & ranch together since Vin left years before.
These two are one of those couples that you just feel are meant to be. Time, distance, and life did nothing to diminish that spark between them. With heartfelt emotion and a good dose of swoony sweetness their story worked its way right in to my heart.
Alyne Hart knows how to bring the heat and sweet together. Both mesh so well I’m wondering if this is truly fiction. Something Like This is sweet, funny, hot, and beautiful. Vin and Von’s love transcends time. Eight years after leaving her and he’s back. What neither realized is the feelings never left with him. Von is someone I hope to grow up and be one day. She’s tough, no nonsense, and has an incredibly big heart. She loves with her whole heart and is loyal like no other. Vin may come across as a dbag, but he’s not. He has the same tough and loyal traits as Von and that makes them so perfect for each other. Throw in their amazing friends and they have a great big family with hearts of gold!
Sometimes I crave achingly sweet reads, and this is one that I will go back to over and over again. Hot MMA fighter, strong single mother, second chances, and real emotions is what you’ll get from Something Like This. I’m now begging for more from this insanely talented author! This is something so much more than contemporary romance, I’ll just call it romance. It has all the flavors of real emotion, sexy scenes, laugh out loud moments, and it shows that love can span over time.
An absolutely fantastic well written and emotionally deep second chance romance! The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, enjoyable, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with a few ups and downs and a mix of emotions on every page. The chemistry between Vincent and Sioban is intense and their sex scenes are well-written and HOT! This book is another amazing addition to the ‘The Men Of Evansdale County’ series and has met all of my expectations and then some! From start to finish I was captivated with the overall quality of the book, the wonderful story line, and the very interesting characters – both main and side characters. A really passionate and exciting read! I look forward to the next book in the series. Definitely recommended.

Von and Vince have something pretty special masquerading as casual. He’s leaving soon to take on the big, bad world of MMA and she can’t leave her father and their farm. So he goes and takes her heart with him. 8 years later, when his friend Dean (from The Space Between Us) calls and says their mentor, Tony, has passed, Vince knows it’s time to go home. Home to send off Tony, and more significantly, home to the woman who’s always held his heart, even if he hadn’t ever told her. But when he gets back, Von’s not so thrilled to see him. She has a secret that she never let him in on because he never returned her many calls and texts, so she finally gave up on him ever being in her life. What’s a man to do when faced with everything he never knew or realized he needs?
Well, he’s a fighter, a premier one, no less, so he fights to get his second chance with Von. Will she let him back in or will her need for independence and relying on no one keep her from the love she deserves?
I’ve loved the Men of Evandsale County series so far, but I think this one just may be the best so far. This is a beautiful, passionate second chance story. Vince and Von are a wonderful couple, whose love is obvious from the first page, even if they never acknowledged it to each other or themselves until much later in their story. And it was nice having cameos of Dean and Emma and Finn and Hailee. The little sneak peek of Emma’s brother’s story at the end just whet my appetite for more of this amazing world Alyne Hart has created. Can’t wait!
Omg, a fabulous story that you will love reading. I just couldnt stop reading this once I started. I great read xx

There is so much packed into this story. I loved everything about it. A second chance romance, a surprise twist and a love lost returning is just a few of the things hidden within the words of this story. Vin has to work hard to be accepted by Von, and that chase is half the fun of the book. I really enjoy the chase and the hope for a happy ending. But getting to that ending is fulled with drama, emotion and heart break. This is one story I would read again and again.
Isabella Star really brought Von to life. Full of struggles and doubts, Von was an intriguing character and Isabella nailed her character. Isabella had a great male voice and kept the characters separate and distinct. Isabella enhanced the experience of this story through her narration. I truly got lost in the narration and felt as if I was watching a movie.
Vin and Siobhan/Von were lovers until Vin left for his chance at MMA fighting. Von decided to stay home to be with her father. Vin said he would call, but he never stayed in touch. 8 years later Vin returned home for a funeral. Will Von ever forgive him for leaving and not calling her?
Isabella Starr narration was good ,performing voices for all characters in this story

Something Like This
The Men of Evansdale County, Book 3
By: Alyne Hart
Narrated by: Isabella Starr
Each and every book of Alyne Hart’s has had me captivated and falling in love. This second chance romance held me captive for a couple of reasons. First, I love the thrill of the chase. Though a second chance at love, Vin had to really work at winning Von back. The passion rose high, but loving with your head and not your heart keeps things slightly simmered. I loved Vin as he comes back to a life that is not only surprising but one that he fully embraces. And I love that Von is willing to take the chance. It’s got some heart wrenching parts, but this story is full of love and redemption. Give me a book by this author anytime, and I know I am in for a good listen.
Isabella Starr does a wonderful job with the portrayal of this story. It’s my first listen by her, and I enjoyed her voices and her pace. She brings it to life with her ability to change from male to female and old to young seamlessly. She enhances the story and I loved it.

This is the third book in The Men of Evansdale County Series. This story can be listened as a standalone. This is a great and sweet second chance to love story, with a great HEA. I love the two epilogues. Vincent (Vin) and Shavon (Von) are great characters. I like the little one, Violet. Isabella Starr did a great job with the narration. Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series, What about us. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
Another great additions to this series. I really enjoyed these two and was so glad to see they didn’t hold things against each other for a long time. These two are so happy when together and when their daughter is in the mix it’s bliss. The narration of this book was fantastic as well. I really enjoyed the peek into the next book too!
