Something in the Air can be read as a standalone and is book #2 in the Running on Air Series.Michaela Olsson has found her soulmate in James Khan. There are just a few teeny, tiny problems… grave. James already belongs to another, so she’ll lock her secret up so tight it’ll be deprived of oxygen, suffocate and die.
Too dark?
Matters are only made worse when James asks her to move into his newly purchased house to supervise the renovations. Working together every day is bad enough, but living in a house he owns is far more intimate than she expected. Then, when James decides to call off his wedding without any explanation whatsoever, Michaela wonders if perhaps her feelings for him aren’t as one-sided as she thought.
While he was engaged James shared a flat with his fiancée, but now he’s moving into the house that Michaela has been living in by herself. She hadn’t intended for it to happen, but the place has started to feel like home, and with the object of her affections suddenly sharing her living space, things become infinitely more complicated. And heated.
Soon Michaela learns she might’ve had more to do with James calling off his engagement than she could’ve possibly imagined.

I’m loving the Running on Air series, and thought that no one would displace Cal and Leanne as my favorite couple, but James and Michaela had such a great story that they are equally tied for first place in my heart. I loved seeing reappearances by everyone involved with the show, and getting glimpses at who I think will be pared up in future books. Back to this book – This was a delicious slow burn, mildly angsty story. My heart ached for James and all that he went through in this book. I was thankful to see the author tackle some hard topics here, and with a bit of gender reversal from what is normally talked about in books, and also in real life, and she did it very well. This is the third book in this series, and while this one could be easily be read as a standalone, I feel like you’d have a better experience reading them in order. And they are each so amazing that I think everyone needs to read them all! I have now read 4 books by LH Cosway, each one has been amazing, and believe that her writing has easily put her in my top 5 favorite authors.
L.H. Cosway is a genius at writing emotionally packed books with characters you can’t help but want to be best friends with. Each time a new book is released frothier I get tingly with excitement knowing it’s going to be fun. This book is another great, fun, romantic, heartbreaking, hopeful tale. James and Michaela are fantastic, you’ll love them. It’s was so good I stayed up all night reading, sleep ? Ha ! No way I need to finish this book !
James is a star on a TV action show, featuring Parkour. He is sweet, kind a touch introverted and engaged to a bombshell. Michaela is his PA who is all heart and knows how to do her job. She has a crush on her boss, but respectfully keeps it to herself. She wants to be invisible to him and to be everything to him. Oh, talk about heartbreaking, the longing is so sweet. So when he needs help with a project for is fiancee she jumps in, anything to make his life happier. She is a selfless character taking many kicks in the gut for someone she cares about. He on the other hand has a hidden difficult situation, it’s a twist that is rarely written. As they grow closer the secrets and a couple total heartbreaking events are revealed and this reader broke out in tears for them both. Get the tissue boxes ready !
This would be such a great movie. Well, any of her books would but this one would be the romantic classic we all crave.
I loved James and Michaela’s book! Their HEA had a few obstacles…James being engaged, Michaela believing she was invisible to everyone around her…It was a really sweet book! I loved how James was able to draw Michaela out of her shell, letting her know she was seen-had always been seen. I loved being back with the Running on Air gang, seeing what everyone was up to. I highly recommend this book!!
So sweet and heartwarming, it’s magic.
I’m obsessed with this series and love every single character but James has had my heart for a while. I was worried about the fact he was in a bad relationship and hoped he would find the courage to leave before he married the wrong girl.
I’m not going to spoil the best parts of this story, but it’s obviously a searing attraction brewing in the air and the gradual easing into a fierce love story will make you swoon and envy their relationship.
It’s so easy and right, good and natural, trusting and loving you never have any doubts that they belong together. It’s the kind of love we all hope to find. A soulmate to spend life with.
I love the flow of the story. I love her characters and I love the writing. She manages to make it seem so real and I would love to watch it as a real tv-series. It’s perfectly visual in my head as I read. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Another wonderful book in the Running On Air series from L.H. Cosway.
Michaela works for James and has been in love with him for a long time. Since he is 100% unavailable, though, she buries her feelings. After meeting her in the first book in the series, I was looking forward to getting her story here. She was a relatable heroine who I was rooting for from the beginning. James was a great match for her and it was fun seeing him come to realize his own feelings for Michaela.
There is something about L.H. Cosway’s writing style that I really enjoy. She has some great lines and dialogue that really stood out. Also, the plot flowed at a perfect pace without feeling rushed or drug out. I had a hard time putting the book down as I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Even though I just read Something in the Air, I cannot wait for book three in the series.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

Michaela Olsson is a 22 yr. old woman who lived in London where she was the PA to a group of reality TV stars for the popular show Running on Air that followed a group of free runners who did parkour stunts in cities all around the world. She was an introvert, reserved, rule follower who preferred to stay in the shadows, but loved her cool job. Her romantic life was pretty much dead, except for her vivid fantasies about a man who was exactly her type, but almost a decade older than her. James Khan was her boss, and she’d known him about eight months. She had it bad for him, but had to admire him from afar. She’d developed a secret crush that she would take to her grave. He was engaged so it was an attraction she could never act on. She’d accepted he could never be hers, and she needed to find a man that was available.
James and Michaela had bonded from the start. They just clicked and had a lot in common. He was the mature, reliable one of the cast, and always so kind. They spent a good bit of time together for the show, so it made it hard for Michaela to get rid of her feelings for him. When he asks her to supervise renovations on an empty house he’s fixing up, things get complicated when their arrangement changes. Suddenly he’s calling of his wedding, and they are sharing living space under the same roof. The man she desired most is in close proximity. The man she thought she could never have.
James is just getting out of a long term relationship, and his life is currently a mess. The one thing that was easy was his relationship with Michaela. He was drawn to her warmth, and she’d become important to him. She was like a breath of fresh air, and he valued her friendship. Lately they’d grown closer, and he couldn’t deny things were shifting between them. They shared a unique connection, and felt like kindred spirits. She was completely unaware of how gorgeous she was. He’d tried to stay away, but just couldn’t resist the pull between them.
Something in the Air by L.H. Cosway is the second book in the Running on Air series and can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed this story, and love this series! James is the one I’ve been waiting for, and is now my new favorite!
I really enjoyed this sweet, sexy, friends to lovers romance by LH Cosway. I’ve been waiting for this book ever since we first met James and Michaela back in Off the Air, the first book in the Running on Air series about a parkour reality series. I first learned about parkour when reading about Trevor Cross in Hearts on Air, book 6 of the author’s Hearts series. The reality series was Trevor’s brainchild.
James is the calm, thoughtful member of the risk-taking parkour group. Michaela is brought on as the second PA for the group, who helps their lives and reality series run more smoothly. During Off the Air we saw their easy friendship develop. Though we may wonder, it was clear their friendship would remain just that because James wan engaged to his long-term girlfriend.
In this book, we learn that although James is calm and thoughtful, he actually suffers from anxiety. He soon has to live with the loss of his loving mother, and spoiler: breaks off his engagement. Michaela, a sincere and kind person, lost her parents at a very young age, and was adopted at age 4 into a mostly loving family. Issues relating to that adoption have damaged her self-esteem, so she moved to London with friends.
The story evolves as Michaela and James help each other deal with emotional challenges in their lives, and their relationship quickly grows much hotter.
I loved the close friendships that we see among Michaela and her roommates, James and the parkour group. Even though they both have loving families, we also get to see how wonderfully diverse people can be so very supportive of each other.
Now I’m looking forward to reading more books about other members of the parkour group, as well as Michaela’s roommates.
This is an easy and interesting read, grabbing and holding the readers attention through the end. I highly recommend!
I absolutely loved the first book in this series, so was excited to get back to the world of parkour. This was Michaela and James’s story, a slow building, smouldering friends to lovers romance, that once ignited almost set my kindle on fire! A chemistry so strong, nothing and no-one could ever stop them coming together, no matter the obstacles and situations put in their way.
There was less angst in this book, but James and Michaela are very different people to the fiery Callum and Leanne. There were still all the feels and red hot chemistry between the two quieter but no less beautiful personalities. Wonderfully written, sweet and sexy, I couldn’t stop turning the pages.
Something in the Air touches upon a few sensitive subject matters – grief, anxiety, bullying and abuse, but are all handled with care and sensitively. The emotions were both heartbreaking and anger inducing but all added to an enthralling read.
James was simply a gorgeously nice man. He’s quietly kind, patient and caring, but it takes a devastating family incident for him to see clearly and realise how unhappy he is. Michaela has had a crush on her boss James since the day they met. She’s a lovely but shy soul and feels guilty about her feelings, so she buries them deep as he is far from available. Her confidence is low but when James desperately needs a friend she can’t stay away.
James and Michaela were two beautiful souls who deserved every happiness.
“You showed me who you were. Sunlight who preferred the shadows. Soft and strong. Caring and honest. There wasn’t a single thing I didn’t like.”
Highly recommended, I loved this story and can’t wait for more!
Sometimes life throws you a curve and you begin to realize you don’t like the direction your life is taking. James lost his mom and is realizing he doesn’t like the direction his life is going. Diana is not who he wants to spend his life with. Abuse comes in many forms and he finally sees this.
Michaela has been trying to keep her feelings for James suppresses but the heart wants what the heart wants. Helping James get through a rough time is harder than she thought.
I love these two together. I so enjoyed their story. I can’t wait to get more!
What a sweet, romantic read this was, I just adored Michaela and James. Not a bad bone in either of their bodies. I was desperate for them to wake up, smell the roses, and finally get the happy ever after they deserved. Sadly poor James was put through the ringer before he finally saw what was right in front of him. When he finally opened his eyes, he did his first ever selfish act, and took what he wanted. Alleluia. A wonderful story, beautifully written with great characters. Lots of emotion, a little rumpy pumpy, and an evil manipulator, because as you well know, it can’t be a fairytale without one, and in my eyes, this is a fairytale. I loved the Parkour bits, unlike the first book though, the story focuses less on this. A friends to lovers, boss and PA romance. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
