Tempting, inked and highly addictive. Alex is all that and more…
I’ve made a lot of mistakes – ones I’m not proud of, and definitely ones that have left their marks both mentally and physically.
Things got lonely; I got lost in my own fucked up mind and in the end it left me fucked out of my mind and unable to fight – or at least win. That life’s over for me and I’ve moved on.
Six months into … on.
Six months into tattooing at Blue’s and already I’m the most wanted and sought out tattooist. My biggest clientele consists of women.
They come into the shop, end up in my bed and we both come out happy. It’s been my release since I’ve stopped fighting. It’s become part of the “new” me.
But when Tripp reappears in my life, I can’t deny the fact that I would do anything for that girl.
So when she asks me to move in with her and her ‘boyfriend’ – our other childhood friend – I never expected for things to get so fucked up and twisted that I would find myself only more attracted to her by each passing second or wanting to protect her from everything that isn’t me.
I have worked so hard over the years to suppress my feelings for her but when I find out that her and Lucas have been having an open relationship, I have the strong urge to rip his heart straight from his chest – to destroy the very thing that keeps him breathing.
What I didn’t expect was for Lucas to ask what he did. For him to ask me to do the one thing I have secretly longed for since I was old enough to know what the need was. The second thing I never expected was the look of need that I saw in Tripp’s eyes when he asked.
One night of free passion could change our lives forever.
I never said that was a good thing either…

Loved the story line edgy and easy to realate too
I received a copy of the arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Ahh Victoria Ashley what have you done to me? I’m still in a Alex and Tripp book fog.
Something For The Pain follows Victoria Ashley’s Get Off On The Pain, which is about Memphis Alex’s brother. If you’ve yet to read that book your missing out so go and read it now. Something For The Pain is about Alex and his best friend Tripp. They’ve been best friends since meeting when Alex was eight. Neither could survive without the other. Alex is a ladies man and doesn’t do dating. Tripp is in a open nothing serious for a year relationship with Lucas. To Alex’s surprise and very much to his dislike Tripp is moving into a house with Lucas but she wants Alex to move in with them too. Let the fireworks begin. Alex and Tripp are both feeling the same but neither wants to and it it and ruin their best friends relationship. Their relationship is everything to them. Will they take a chance and find out if the cold be so much more??
I loved this book. If I cold give it a million stars I would. It goes down as one of my favorite reads ever. I actually devoured this book loving both Alex and Tripp and rooting for them so hard from the first chapter. I don’t know how anyone couldn’t love Alex and the way he protects and looks out for Tripp. Tripp is an amazing female character and I adore her. She’s had just as hard a childhood as Alex but for totally different reasons. Victoria Ashley never ever fail to make my heart invested in what I’m reading that she’s written. This book though I felt like was pure perfection. I loved that you got to read both Tripp and Alex’s side of the story. Amazing potential for two people. Memphis and Lyric are seen in the book, sexual tension that’s off the charts, and at time scenes that made me swoon and want a Alex of my very own. I could go on and on about why I love this book but I’d just be gushing which is ok because Victoria Ashely totally deserves to be gushed about over this book. I’ll never forget this story and feel certain that Alex and Tripp’s story will live in my heart forever. Don’t miss Something For The Pain. I know you’ll find me reading it over again thought out the coming years.
“Oh my goodness. Remember this song?” “Of course I do.” “And I still meant what I said about singing this to the girl I fall in love with. When I fall in love, she will know for sure.”
Something for the pain was easy to read, it wasn’t always pretty and someone was always going to end up heartbroken. Would you drop everything for your best friend? Alex does and I mean anything, he’s quick to leave the ladies hot, flustered and waiting for the grand finale. Tripp and Alex have been friends since they were little kids, they know each other’s secrets and have shared their losses. While the “Stud” has the girls flocking to him, his “firecracker” has an open relationship with her boyfriend. Alex hates the thought of Lucas being so disrespectful towards Tripp, but it’s what she wants. Tempting with fate this triangle, consider pushing boundaries, but at the cost f losing your best friend? Some heavy decisions to be had.
This book was is a fantastic friends to lovers book. The story was hot hot hot! Alex is sexy, muscular, and hung. Tripp was a fun character too i loved her personality. I really disliked Lucas. Had a kind of creeper vibe from him. The friendship and love Alex and Tripp have are something everyone wishes to one day find. Fantastic read!
ALEX AND TRIPP BELONG TOGETHER
Again, another hot cover for another hot book…
We met and fell in love with Alex, Memphis Carter’s brother in GET OFF ON THE PAIN…Alex is a big, tatted, alpha tattoo artist, who has girls getting tattoos just to get his extra services….Alex is in love with his best friend, Tripp…Alex has been best friends with Tripp since he was 7 years old and has been in love with her nearly as long….Can best friends become more without ruining the friendship???…He’s afraid to cross the line…
Tripp is beautiful and sweet and has been in love with her best friend, Alex, for as long as she can remember, but she continues to hide it….She’s terrified of losing him should he find out how she really feels about him…
Tripp and her “open-relationship boyfriend”, Lucas, move into a house together and Tripp invites Alex to move in with them…They all have separate bedrooms….One night, Lucas gives them an excuse to be together…..and they know it’s just for one night……with Lucas there….but Alex and Tripp know a gift when it’s handed to them, and if one night with their best friend is all they get, they are going to make the most of it…..Will this gift “get it out of their system,” or will rocking each other’s world just make the situation worse….Read the book…
I loved the whole book….I loved Alex and Tripp…and I loved their story….Victoria Ashley gave us a fantastic book 2 in this series…
Holy crap!! This book!! Memphis drew me in straight away. His pain, his need to almost revel in pain broke my heart. Lyric, Lord that woman! I loved her sass, her take no shizz attitude and the fact she went after what she wanted. She certainly made Memphis sit up and take notice.
But it’s not a smooth path for either of them and at times this was hard to read, but I absolutely loved it!
Now that Alex has his life together, will he finally get a shot at the love of his life?
Fairly well edited.
Alex is finally moving forward with his life. His brother is out of prison and fighting in the underground ring is finally behind him. Now, he has a job at the tattoo parlor where Lyric worked, and things are looking up. The only hiccup – he is in love with his best friend. Only, she is in a relationship with someone else.Until one day, Tripp turns his world upside down. She and her ‘boyfriend’ want to move into a house together, and they want Alex to take the third bedroom. Say what? Seems that Tripp and Lucas aren’t exactly exclusive, and they won’t be sharing a room. Instead, Tripp wants Alex to share a Jack-n-Jill bathroom with her, while Lucas takes up residence downstairs. And, Tripp won’t make the move without Alex. So Alex, being the awesome friend that he is, agrees. Not long after, Lucas throws out a curve ball that Alex never saw coming. And, not being a stupid man, Alex takes him up on his offer. After all, if Lucas is going to open the door and give Alex a free pass to what he has always wanted – well, who is Alex to turn that down? But once the door is open and the threshold has been crossed, can Alex or Tripp ever go back? Or will they finally embrace what their hearts have longed for forever?
I am always a sucker for a lifelong love story. Two people that meet as children, grow up together, and eventually realize their hearts have always been intertwined. Alex and Tripp have been there through good times, hard times, and tragic times. She remembers the good with his mother, and was the comfort he sought when things were really bad with his dad. Really liked the insight from Lyric – why do you think your relationship wouldn’t make it when you’ve been together for 13 years?! (paraphrased) Enjoy!
Hands down my favorite Victoria Ashley book to date.
As always the heat level is off the charts, with a dirty talking sexy alpha male who loves deeply with all his heart and soul.
His best friend who’s childhood left her afraid to commit.
And the boyfriend who’s just not good enough for her in so many ways.
The relationship between Alex, Tripp and Lucas is not one thats overplayed or that your will find in half the books you read. Alex and Tripp’s connection started when they were children and neither knows what to do with it. Risk losing their best friend of suffer in silence everytime one takes someone else home with them.
I fell in love with these characters quickly, the loyalty and support they offered each other over the years, the depth of emotion and connection they had. I didn’t want to scream at anyone for making the wrong choices. I read and waited and hoped for the outcome I wanted, and the author did not disappoint.
Alex & Tripp’s story in my opinion is the best yet, I look forward to seeing if the next book can take their place in my heart.
