Even though these were probably my favorite main characters so far, the incessant repetition of character descriptions/backgrounds/relationships was so bad that it almost ruined the reading experience for me. Maybe because I read this one so close to the last, or maybe because there were barely any new characters outside of the main Westcott family, but it was too much.
Like, three books into this, we know Alex has the title because Harry turned out to be illegitimate. Did nearly every character have to say this out loud in conversation??? I’m not gonna forget that detail every other page!
I loved how this story so thoroughly exemplified how we can forget what someone actually looks like once they’ve found a place in our heart.
Alex and Wren’s is a beautiful story. Great writing, as always with this author, and so many interesting characters. Can’t wait to read more in this series.
MB books can be hit or miss for me but I’m always willing to give her books a chance. I’m glad I gave this one a chance and it’s all because of Wren……
I loved reading this book! Well written, strong characters. Good old-fashioned romance between admirable characters.
I had my doubts but got invested in this couple’s story. For me it is a keeper that I will read again.
You can’t go wrong with this author.
Another wonderful story for the Westcott family.
This is 3rd in a series. If you haven’t read the first two, the recurring characters can be confusing.
A lot of references are made to book one and characters from book one are reintroduced. Initially, it took some time to become captivated by the book. The writer lets the reader have an understanding of the main characters’ thoughts and at times it became annoying, but as I continued to read I understood the need for it. Overall I enjoyed reading this book.
Insightful and Interesting. characters matured and personalities developed due to stressful family situation producing more loveable people.
I love Mary Balogh – she is incapable of writing a bad book.
This is an absolute MUST read!!! So deserves more than 5 stars!
I will read anything written by Mary Balogh. She brings characters to life and is true to the genre.
I loved it as I do all of Mary Balogh’s books. I have been a fan since 1985 when she write Regency Romances for Signet.
A bit slow going to start, but an intriguing premise and excellent execution.
Good story too slove moving it took forever to read
I liked this book as the plot was original and entertaining.
Entertaining if you like these romances
I like Mary Balogh’s voice and will always read a book by her.
