This is a great story, a second chance story. About an alpha man and strong woman. She is trying to find a new life for her self by moving back to her home town.
It is romantic, scary the suspense is great. Right from the start you are in this book. I enjoyed it very much.
Stacey McKinney felt like she had nowhere to go but back home, the one place she thought the man who was stalking her would never find her. Stacey had no idea she would run into Cash Butler though, the one man who broke her heart in her youth.
Cash can’t believe Stacey is here in town, he has come a long way from the boy from the wrong side of the tracks building a career as an Army Ranger and now owning the ranch Stacey grew up on. He can only hope that the chemistry they once had is still there, but Stacey is hiding something and seems determined to handle the problem on her own.
hort but packed full of awesomeness. It’s also a little less spicy for those who don’t like too much sex getting in the way of a good story.
Stacey is on the run from her obsessive ex. She’s made it back to her hometown and living hand to mouth, a far cry from her privileged upbringing. She’s now working two jobs, including at the local bar and thinks things are quietening down and then….Cash strolls back into her life!
Cash loved Stacey when they were kids but knew her father wasn’t keen on his daughter sullying herself with the “poor white trash” and pulled some awful strings to oust Cash from her life, whilst making it seem that Cash did the running.
But when he figures out what is happening, can Stacey count on her newly found knight in shining armour to keep her safe? Will he really be able to watch over her and keep her safe?
OMG there are layers on layers of suspense in this. Just when you think you have it sorted in your head, BLAM another twist in the story gets you. I prevaricated so much trying to figure out who the stalker was and I did not see the ending coming!
Jerrie always rights a superb story, interlaced suspense, intrigue and romance (with a wisecrack or too thrown in) and I have loved every single one of her books (in fact I have now read them all!!) I read this in just about lunch time, but I am a speed reader. Cash is alpha to the core but with a good dose of chivalry and knowing when to step back thrown in!
Even though it was on the shorter side you still got it all in this romantic suspense. A pair of star-crossed lovers who are reunited back in there home town, a stalker ex who seems to have found her when the bodies start piling up and personal items go missing. Pay attention while reading cause all is not how it seems.
