Wonderful read.
I love all of Mary Balogh’s books and this one did not disappoint.
This is a great book for those of us who are 40 plus and learning about love. Sometimes, we follow the rules and regulations so much that we forget about ourselves and focus our whole life around those we love. This book focusses on “me time” as well. A great romantic read.
Predictable
Excellent challenges to be met, survived, and enjoyed!!!
Love all Mary Balogh’s books. This one tells the story of 40 somethings that met in their 20’s and had a brief flirtat they never forgot. It’s unusual to me in that it’s rare that books of this genre including older couples. Enjoyed learning how Marcel’s reputation developed and where all the characters of this series are now. Mary Balogh does describe every character from the series, but she tries to summarize pretty fast so you know what is going on. Viola’s in an interesting situation because she’s like a widow but never really married. I like how it ends — can’t wait to read the rest of the series
I really enjoyed reading what happened to ‘mom.’ It was a little slow in places but on the whole it was very good.
I love period novels. Mary Balogh is one of my favorite authors. It is wonderful to follow the lives of the Westcott family. The best part is you care about these people and their trials and tribulations. I look foward to Someone to Trust.
Kept my interest and made me purchase other books in the series! I do not generally pay for books on my ereader due to a limited income. I have always loved this author!
When I started to read this book, I was reminded all over again why I love Mary Balogh. Her words bring the characters and the setting alive and draw you into the story as if you are really there. I caught myself smiling or tearing up many times. Moreover, this is not your traditional “young girl has first season” story, and it is so nice to see more mature characters struggle with finding love in an original story. I can’t say enough good things about this book. The only suggestion is that it is tough to follow all the characters if you have not read the earlier books in the series, although Ms. Balogh does an admirable job of trying to explain.
Of this series of Mary Balogh, the first book and this one are my favorites. Very different hero and heroine (both 40 years old), but a wonderful tale of true love of all kinds, family, parental, romantic! She is one of my favorite authors and does not disappoint!!
Ive never read a mary balogh book I havent thoroughly enjoyed. Her books are heartwarming with wonderful characters. This story fits right in.
Have enjoyed the “Someone” series. Looking forward to the next one.
This is the 4th book in a series and I have enjoyed them all. Although you can read this book alone, starting at the beginning of the series helps. I am a fan!
The best
i have read quite a few of her books, I have enjoyed each one
Another wonderful Mary Balogh book. Great characters make for a great reading. Every page is fabulous and as fast as I read them, I am distraught to finish them. But no matter, I just reread another Balogh book until she comes out with a new one!
I pre-order all of Mary Balogh’s books. This book has an unlikely hero and heroine. Older than most main characters usually are, he at age 40 and she 42, they come together 15 years after first knowing each other. She has recently very publicly been made aware that her late husband married her in a bigamous union. He is, of course, a rake who is tiring of his life but feels he doesn’t deserve a better life. I loved the book and am eagerly anticipating the next “Someone” book in the series. The worst thing about Balogh’s books is that they end!
