USA Today bestselling author Claudia Burgoa brings you an all-new friends-to-lovers second chance romance. Made of Honor clashes with When Harry Met Sally in a sweet and seductive love story of hopeful hearts and second chances.
Men and women can be friends.
At least that’s what I’ve been telling myself since George walked into my life.
We bicker as much as we have each other’s backs.
We’re … as we have each other’s backs.
We’re inseparable.
So, she left to find herself and I feel like I can’t breathe without her.
It’s okay, it’s only temporary.
But when she walks back into my life, it’s on the arm of a stranger.
Her fiancé.
Seriously, I just realized I’m in love with her and she’s engaged?
I have six weeks to convince George we’re meant to be together—not only in the kitchen or be forced to watch her marry another man.
Time is running out, and soon, she’ll be gone from my life.
I’m risking everything, will that be enough?
Someday, Somehow is a sexy romantic comedy that’s equal parts funny and flirty. It’s a standalone, full-length slow-burn romance you don’t want to miss. Bring the laughs and the tissues!

George and Auggie meet in college, when she is a freshman and he is a sophomore. It wasn’t a pleasant meeting, but the next time they meet they start to talk and they click. George is feeling lonely and needs a friend. Auggie agrees to be that friend. What follows is a beautiful friendship that starts, in part, to revolve around food. They are so close, for so many years, neither realizes how perfect they are for each other.
I liked the way the friendship grew between George and Auggie, how she goes to his old house to make repairs while he cooks for her. Soon she is baking to relieve stress and their love of cooking creates another bond. George is brilliant, beautiful, and lacking in confidence. Auggie is handsome, wealthy, in love with romance, but unable to be in love. Together, Auggie gets a close friendship without the commitment of love, and George gets a friend who understands her and builds her confidence. Unfortunately, they don’t see how perfect they are until it is almost too late.
Auggie put everyone ahead of himself and had to learn to enjoy life, but this man was so committed to those he loved, it was beautiful.
I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
This book was absolutely amazing. I couldn’t put it down!!!! I was immediately transported into the journey these lovely characters go on in this brilliantly written storyline. Claudia, you had me from page one!!!!!!
I love second chance romances and friends to lovers and this just had everything I needed. George and Auggie are funny but sexy and all kinds of confused. I went through a plethora of emotions while reading this and I could not stop. I laughed, I cried, I smiled, and of course I was also left blushing.
Another great story from Claudia!! I loved Auggie and George’s love story!! Second chance romance at its finest.
If your a second chance romance fan, you need to read this, it checks alll the boxes.
Someday, Somehow by Claudia Burgoa is a slow-burn, best friends to lovers romance, that I devoured. I’m a sucker for these kind of romances!
Georgia (George) and Aggie’s story begins in flashbacks told from the past building up to the present. These two had the most beautiful friendship. They could turn to each other for anything. While I ADORED both characters, both characters also kinda had me fuming a bit. They kinda created their own angst by not being and honest with one another. And let years pass by keeping that one secret.
Mrs Burgoa once again draws me in with her beautiful storytelling and captivating characters. I couldn’t get enough of George and Aggie. From friendship to that beautiful epilogue. I was HOOKED! Another 5 star read from Claudia!
Someday, Somehow is a fun, slow burn friends to lovers romance that will have you wondering how on earth it took these two so long to finally get together. I’m not kidding either, this book takes place over twelve years, TWELVE YEARS, if that isn’t a slow burn I really don’t know what is.
I love a good friends-to-lovers romance and this one was just what the doctor ordered. Auggie met George when he “bumped” into her at a coffee shop then again at a college party. The chemistry was there right at the start and after a kiss they, well actually George, says she just wants to be friends. YIKES Auggie was Friend Zoned almost immediately but you know what, it’s what they both needed.
I really loved watching their friendship bloom but I will admit there were times I was frustrated that Auggie didn’t notice that George’s feelings were changing…..can I say typical male without pissing anyone off?
Claudia Burgoa is a favorite author of mine I love just about everything she writes, my one and only discontent with this story was that the slow burn burned so slowly we didn’t have nearly as much sexy time as we normally would have had which is sad because Auggie and George really needed more sexy time together.
If you enjoy a good friends to lovers romance, or even a romance that revolves around food, because I’ll tell you there was a whole lot of cooking going on and it had me hungry all the time, I would recommend this book to you.
Happy Reading!!!
Simply Put, I adored this book. It’s funny, heartfelt and so romantic. I always wondered why some of the reviews I read said a book was a “slow burn”. After reading Someday, Somehow I get it. It’s not that the story starts off slow and builds, because trust me this is not the case with this book. It the love match…this book is like reading a romance go from a spark of friendship to the raging fire of lovers and everything in between. The author has hit all my emotions as I followed along with George and Auggie’s story. I felt the characters as they went through times that were happy, sad, heartbreaking, full of determination. Friends that drift apart to a degree due to the natural order of life only to wonder what if? Then fighting for what they want with everything they’ve got even if it means losing it the end, at least they will know in their hearts they tired.
Just an awesome read. I highly recommend it.. You’ll laugh, smile and maybe what to bop heads a time or two but most of all you can’t help but root for Auggie and George. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for Someday, Somehow.
Augustin Beltran, aka Auggie, is a business major in college when he meets Georgia Jones, aka George. Auggie and Georgia become fast friends after an impromptu meeting at a college party. They decide not to pursue a romantic relationship because both of them could really use a good friend. They stay best friends after college and even move into together. They are both planning to go into business after graduating, but life has other plans for both of them. Auggie feels a lot of pressure to take over his fathers business and works way too hard & too much. George has decided on a different career path and travels abroad. These two go through a lot together and separate before they realize that they should be together romantically. The book goes back in forth from past to present. I enjoyed both characters even though they each ticked me off at some point in the story. I appreciated how important their friendship was to them and was thrilled when they realized hat they should be a couple. I definitely recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a slow burn friends to lover romance.
Wow. Just wow. I loved Auggie and George so much!
This book is written in a way that we see everything. We see when they meet and follow the characters through many years as life happens. Their friendship is those that we all strive for. Love it so much. Highly recommend.
While the characters and world building were great, there were some things I just didn’t like. The main thing being the timeline. It’s starts in the present and then jumps back 12 years and then sloooowly progresses through every couple of years (there’s slow burns and then there’s sloooow burns). I think I would have liked it better if it had just started in the past and built from there instead of having to do mental math to figure out where they are in their lives at that point. Sometimes, the timelines didn’t add up (epilogue stated it was 3 years later, but Auggie states something in the last chapter happened just last year). For being such a slow burns, the resolution seemed super rushed. Overall, the story was good. Not my favorite, but still good.
Auggie, Auggie, Auggie. I loved this slow burn friends to lovers romance! Auggie becomes George’s best friend after a few meetings that were perfect set ups for a meet cute and a kiss that should have told them both that friends were not all they were meant to be but instead they become one another’s best friend. Each other’s person. Definite overtones of When Harry Met Sally & Made of Honor. I loved how their friendship grew and evolved. I also wanted to smack each up the head and knock a clue into their head. You feel they are meant to be, but I suspect Claudia has an angst quota to fill because the course of true love never runs smooth…or quickly. But that is fine because you get to fall in love with Auggie and George and their wonderful family and friends. You may want to have some food handy. This book is going to make you hungry. I loved every page!!
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Someday, Somehow is a friends to lovers romance and the true definition of a slow burn. I was captivated from the first page and didn’t want to put it down. I just had to know what was going to happen with George (Georgia Jones) and Auggie. Their journey had lots of bumps along the road, but it shaped the people they would become. This book killed me in the best way possible and will be one I re-read over and over again!
Someday, Somehow by Claudia Burgoa. It’s a very slow-burning, friends to lovers romance that’s told in first person, dual POV.
This is Georgia (George) and Aggie’s story It’s mostly told in flashbacks starting from when they first meet in college twelve years ago. They start off badly, have a hot kiss the George decides she needs friends more than a one night stand.
And they do become friends. Best friends. So much so, that it blinds them both to the truth. Auggie doesn’t think he’s a relationship guy due to heartbreak in his past. But he cares deeply for George, so deeply he integrates her into his big, loud and emotional family.
When George finally reaches her ‘Eureka’ moment she’s in Paris. But she keeps her feelings locked down as it seems that Auggie does not share her sudden revelation.
George is trapped by her love, she can’t tell him the truth for fear of rejection and instead, she leaves yet again. This time to Italy with one intention. Getting over Auggie.
Only… while she’s there, he finally comes to the same realization she did six years earlier, mostly thanks to his twin siblings.
But instead of chasing after George, he dillies and dallies, and buries himself in his work. As if he didn’t work hard enough already, the man is the poster board for a workaholic. He just prays and hopes for the best for when George comes home.
George comes back… but she’s not alone.
Is he too late? He’s going to have to fight for his woman, something he should have done before now.
Still, it might happen. Someday, Somehow.
These two characters drove me crazy sometimes, but their connection was clear from the start. It just took a long time to come to fruition.
Solid 3.5 stars!
I love a good slow burn romance and this is definitely slow burn!
George and Auggie’s story spans 12 years-starting in college. They are best friends who share every triumph and every let down. Finally, feelings are there but not both sides realize it..it takes Auggie a little longer to realize what was always right in front of him but it might be too late!
I loved the families and secondary characters. I just felt the end was a little rushed. But overall a good story.
In true Claudia Burgoa fashion she delivers a sweet contemporary romance. I love the slow burn, friends to lovers, eureka “I’m in love” romance between Auggie and George.
Auggie and George’s chemistry sizzles off the pages of this book. You could feel their connection as they build the foundation of their friendship that could withstand any storm. With a foundation like theirs it was inevitable that feelings became more.
Someday, Somehow gave me the warm fuzzies. It took 12 years for the entree and dessert to finally be served but the meal was well worth the wait. I highly recommend this book! Great job on another heartwarming book, Claudia!
George and Auggies story is so tragically sweet as it goes through so many years from when they first meet which was not a great start to when they both realise they are in love with each other but alas it’s not that simple. They fell into a friendship which grew into so much more without realising it and seeing how it all unfolds along with going through the emotions, successes, doubts, wonder and finally the hope that they finally get their happily ever after together and not with other sub-par people!
This book by Claudia Burgoa is written a little differently than she usually writes. It is an almost clean romance. The first chapter is in the present, and then almost all of the rest of the book takes place 12 years prior, until it culminates back to the present day.
George and Auggie meet in college at a frat party in an unusual way. They decide to become best friends after one amazing kiss. Over the next 12 years, their friendship becomes more like family and their families even bond. The love they share is apparent to all but themselves and as George travels to find her niche and Auggie works tirelessly to care for his family, neither sees what is in front of their noses.
This book has wonderful secondary characters in the family members of both George and Auggie. George and her father became members of Auggie’s family and the love between them was so very apparent. Auggie was the only one that was clueless and I wanted to knock some sense in him before he blew it all!
This is a great new book by Claudia and it comes highly recomnended! Grab it and read it!!
Someday, Somehow by Claudia Burgoa is a slow burn, friends to lovers, contemporary romance told in first person, dual POV. It follows the relationship between Auggie and George as they develop a close friendship and then struggle with timing issues when romantic feelings progress at differing rates.
Apart from chapter one which takes place in the present, the entire book is a count down beginning twelve years ago and advancing a few chapters per year until it arrives back in the present. Likely due to this format, the pacing felt extremely slow as most of the book is backstory with twice as much time spent in the past when compared with time in the present. It just seemed like it took a very long time for something to finally happen.
I loved both Auggie and George as characters and liked the secondary characters too. Some themes highlighted were the importance of family and the bonds of friendship. Overall, I enjoyed the story with its light humor and heart-warming moments.
*** I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. ***
This is a slow burn, friends-to-lovers romance. This story begins when Auggie and Georgia aka “George” meet at a coffee shop and then again at a college party. The story spans a 12 year period. They experience everything together and come to lean on each other heavily for emotional support, good times, and a very close friendship. They are there for each other through life’s ups and downs, switching jobs, navigating life, family, relationships, and break-ups. The one thing that is constant is their friendship until one of them realizes that their feelings involve more than just friendship. The problem is, is that the other one hasn’t quite recognized that their best friend’s feelings have morphed into something deeper.
There were aspects of this story that were truly touching. I loved the friendship, close family, and loyalty aspect. The H and h were funny and quirky. The secondary characters were great. They added so much character to the book. My only issue with this book is that the burn was too slow. It took too long to evolve, and the ending felt rushed. Overall, I like the story but thought it was too drawn out.
