USA Today bestselling author Claudia Burgoa brings you an all-new friends-to-lovers second chance romance. Made of Honor clashes with When Harry Met Sally in a sweet and seductive love story of hopeful hearts and second chances.
Men and women can be friends.
At least that’s what I’ve been telling myself since George walked into my life.
We bicker as much as we have each other’s backs.
We’re … as we have each other’s backs.
We’re inseparable.
So, she left to find herself and I feel like I can’t breathe without her.
It’s okay, it’s only temporary.
But when she walks back into my life, it’s on the arm of a stranger.
Her fiancé.
Seriously, I just realized I’m in love with her and she’s engaged?
I have six weeks to convince George we’re meant to be together—not only in the kitchen or be forced to watch her marry another man.
Time is running out, and soon, she’ll be gone from my life.
I’m risking everything, will that be enough?
Someday, Somehow is a sexy romantic comedy that’s equal parts funny and flirty. It’s a standalone, full-length slow-burn romance you don’t want to miss. Bring the laughs and the tissues!

This was a great sexy friend’s to lover’s read about Auggie and George. I couldn’t stop reading until I finished this angsty, slow burn beautiful love story. This story had all the angsty feels. Loved this story and I can’t wait to read more by Claudia Burgoa.
Someday, Somehow was a fun read. I enjoyed it. It was quite entertaining.
Sometimes love comes so furtively that it can go unnoticed, even if the signs are in front of you, blinking almost imperceptibly and increasing over the years.
Auggie and Georgia are two people who meet accidentally. Then they meet again “casually.” In the first meeting it was not good at all. Georgia has a wrong perception of Auggie, which changes in the second encounter and gives way to a friendship that grows with each passing day. A sublime and solid friendship. The kind of friendship where you meet your close family, which becomes yours.
Both feel so sympathetic that they share all their dreams, worries, the events of daily life, their fears and insecurities, their triumphs and failures in all areas. They feel that nothing is missing because they both fill all the spaces in their lives and hearts. One day Georgia decides to meet a goal and leaves on the other side of the continent. That separation is enough to realize that feelings of friendship have grown to become something else. Because without realizing it, Auggie got under her skin and conquered her heart.
I loved Auggie’s personality from the beginning. It is lovely, cheerful, adorable. Georgia is a bit shy but independent. Although I can describe the story as a slow burn romance, I think it took a long time to realize that they had fallen in love. Even so, you will love this best friends to lovers story like me.
This author amazes me each and every book. Sometimes I’m not sure how I’ll react because of past books similar but this one was amazing!
Auggie didn’t seem like the man he would become and overtime I fell madly in love with all the small things he did for George! So much FREAKING SWOON!! You will need a mop to clean up the drool he will make you leave!
George, on more than one occasion, upset me something fierce. I get her struggles and her self doubt but some decisions she made hurt my heart for her and Auggie.
A friendship as breathtaking as theirs is soul connection. It makes you want to breathe in the love and express your love to your best friend. I wish things had been a little different but this book made my stomach tense in anticipation and excitement. I laughed and loved but also got annoyed and upset but most of all you learned about so many characters that made these main characters incredible.
Someday, Somehow is a friends to lovers story about George and Auggie. They meet in college and develop a friendship that they need more than a fling. This story is a slow burn that spans over 12 years. I really loved Auggie and George’s banter and how their story developed. Another great ready by Claudia Burgoa.
The more books by this author I read, the more I fall in love.
Someday, Somehow is a friend to lovers, slow burn that had me consumed from page one. I am a sucker for a slow burn, as much as it drives me bat shit crazy, I always go back for more… It is a form of sweet sweet torture, I swear and I love it.
In this book we have George and Auggie. They met in college, George, she was a freshman and Auggie was a sophomore, and the way they met was definitely not one of those amazing chance meetings and then the second time? Well that wasn’t exactly smooth either but this time they take the time to talk and they realize get along well. George needs a friend, she’s been feeling lonely, so Auggie becomes that friend. The connection instantly once they have taken the time to talk and over a span of 12 years they remain close and over the years they build a friendship so strong and incredible, I couldn’t help but smile… But at the same time, I wanted to scream. these two clearly made for each other and over the last 12 years, at one point or another, each one of them had feelings for the other, but they never really matched up. It was never the right timing, and also neither of them voiced these feelings.
After Georgia aka Georgie pushes Auggie to make his dreams come true, which leads him away from her, she realizes that she is helplessly in love with her best friend, but Auggie is yet to come to the same conclusion… And when he does, it may be too late… Will these two get that happy ending or is it too late and has Auggie lost that chance forever?
These two were amazing, I loved the bond between the two and how it only strengthens as the years’ past. It was a sweet love story, one I couldn’t put down. It held angst, lust, passion, and friendship and love that most people only dream about. It had my heart fluttering and my body swooning. Truly a remarkable love story with all the feels, and in saying that… I’m not usually one that likes sweet and mostly clean romances, but this was amazing as are all Claudia’s books.
5 Stars!
Absolutely loved this book. Auggie and George are a slow burn, friends to lovers story. Written over a span of 12 years, we see how they meet and their friendship develops. They have such a wonderful friendship. I was totally captured by this story. I read it in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down. With each new page, I wondered if these two would ever realize thier feelings for each other. Truely a wonderful read.
I absolutely adored the premise of the story and all the feels this story encompasses. The development of their relationship over the years and all the tribulations were very easy to relate to and made the book an easy read.
The build up was outstanding, I loved the slow burn and I loved every moment of the torture.
This is a super slow burn, friends-to-lovers romance that had me wanting to pull my hair out throughout the story. Get together already, I yelled!!! This story was quite lovely inspite of the frustration I lived through. It makes for a much better read when it’s angsty like that.
All kidding aside, I loved the characters and the friendship that developed between Auggie and George. From the beginning, George called Auggie out on his BS and he learned how to be a better person with her in his life. Actually, they brought out the best in each other. They also have very supportive friends and family which was amazing. The secondary characters are awesome. I especially loved Tiffany.
The build up to romance is quite lengthy. When the unexpected happens and George comes home with a fiance, you can practically feel Auggie’s heartbreak. This is a great read by an even greater author. I find Claudia’s books to be phenomenal. They bring the right combination of chemistry, drama and romance.
But obviously as time marches on, and this book is told mostly in the past, until the present hits at like 80%. When George goes away a second time, her return is not as Auggie expects, especially as the second separation puts his feelings into the light after a few well placed words by friends.
Yes it was well written, but I found myself skipping years as nothing seemed to be happening, I wanted more time in the here and now, not being told a story of their past.
Yes, men and women can be friends, but can holding on to your friendship mean that you lose sight of what can be? Auggie and Georgia, two people that friend zoned each other early on in their budding relationship. They worked hard at being the best the other needed in a friend that they lost the meaning of what they were really doing… Falling in Love.
This is just what you would expect from a friends to lovers romance, but with so much more. They don’t just move from one relationship to another in one day. No, they learn from one another and then they have to learn to be, just themselves separately to grow. So you don’t get just one intermingled story, you get two lives that thrive together as well as apart.
Claudia Burgoa, had a gift for giving us a book filled with more than just a romance she gives you a life filled with possibilities and dreams that have to worked for. She gives you a reality dream. This story is filled with passion but not just romantic passion, no it is a passion for family, cooking and yes love. A story of two people that find their other half and spend a life time ignoring it until they almost fall apart. A romance that touches all of you, mind body and soul. I would expect nothing less from reading one of her books.
A romance that plays out over the span of 12 years and end gives me the ending I most wanted, one filled with a future that made me cry happy tears. This book was a delicious treat from beginning to end!
A gorgeous story about friendship, family, food, and love that takes place over a period of twelve years.
“After that soul gripping kiss I wonder if we can really be friends.”
When Georgia AKA George Jones meets Agustin for the first time, she thinks he’s a jerk. However, when they meet again, he wins her over with food and the beginnings of friendship, but not before they share a sizzling kiss. Unfortunately, George is in need of friends and, therefore, they move forward in the friend-zone. And, what a beautiful, unswerving friendship they have!
“I don’t know if she realizes how much she means to me. She makes my entire world better, just by existing.”
Agustin AKA Auggie Beltran strives constantly to be worthy of his father’s expectations and his legacy. He has a romantic outlook on life but, ironically, has no time for love. Except for this family, the only person who is a constant in his life is George, and he loves her so much that he encourages her to spread her wings, even though he feels lost without her. Seriously, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his best friend.
“There was a reason I couldn’t fall in love with anyone else. My heart already belonged to someone else.”
Honestly, these two were like an old married couple but purely platonic – until one of them wakes up to the fact that what they feel is more than friendship. And, that’s when things start feeling off-kilter. They never seem to be on the same page; their outlook on relationships don’t seem to match. It was beautiful to watch the beginnings and then the growth of their friendship. What Auggie and George had was completely solid and dependable. Unfortunately, not only did Auggie have such a focus on his career goals but he also had a set idea about love and commitment that he was blind to what he had in his life. George was a tough cookie but she had her vulnerable spots. Auggie was pretty much always there to pick her up when she needed him but she made mistakes in her desperation to move on.
This was one slow-burn read – I was sad that it took them so long to wake up to each other (I always feel like this when couples have a huge timespan before they get together) but felt so happy when they got their act together.
Then and Now
Auggie met George when they were in college.
It wasn’t love at first sight. Nope. Then it’s a count down starting from twelve years in the past to when George is finally back after a year away. It took twelve long years for Auggie to figure our who he wanted. George. Only, was it too late? Because she brought a souvenir back with her. Mario.
George had been in love with Auggie for years. But he was emotionally numb.
Can he win her from Mario?
I liked time as a device.
I liked Auggie and George and I liked that this was how many relationships ebb and flow and oftentimes, partners are out of sync.
Auggie and George become friends in college, and are there for each other through the years. When George realizes her passion and goes to France to become a classically trained chef, she realizes she’s in love with Auggie. But Auggie has always worried about work and paying his dad back for everything he’s done for him, and doesn’t realize what’s right in front of him, until George comes back with her new fiancé. This is a sweet friends to lovers romance and I’d definitely recommend it!
Someday, Somehow is a wonderful slow burn romance. Georgia and Augustin meet in college and after some misunderstandings, become close friends. This book tells of their 12 year journey. They love each other fiercely, but. as just friends. Will they ever move beyond the friendship, or will they meet other people to fulfill the romantic love that they can’t seem to get to? Claudia Burgoa has done it again. given us a book that you won’t want to put down!
George and Auggie’s story was fantastic and one I couldn’t get enough of. This one is a slow burn romance but it was written just perfect for these two. They have been friends for a long time now and I loved the friends to lovers story.
Absolutely loved this book it was so good I couldn’t put it down
3.5 Stars
Someday Somehow is a slow burning (a little to slow for me) friends to lovers romance story. This story does go back and forth from past to present, it was easy to follow, and funny at times. Auggie and George have developed a beautiful friendship. But what happens when one of them’s feelings start to change? Will they be honest about their true feeling? Or will they stay silent because their to afraid of what the outcome could be? I liked the family feel, and the secondary characters were good too.
Someday, Somehow is a best friends, sloooww burn kind of story! Auggie and George have a fun and playful relationship that only grows stronger with time until feelings change and things get messy! Their story starts from the beginning, which I loved, but at the same time I found some parts slower than others. As much as I loved these two their lack of communication and assumptions killed me! Overall this is a fun read with great characters!!
Auggie and George had an amazing first kiss, but she needed a friend more than anything. This book is about two best friends that don’t notice what is in front of them until it might be too late.
I enjoyed this story. I like that we get to read about their relationship from day one and the years after their fateful beginning. These two are there to support each other throughout the big and small changes that come their way. They just want to make the other happy and lighten their load without even realizing it.
These two are both strong and flawed characters. They miss home and it takes them awhile to realize just what “home” means for them.
Sweet, cute, lower angst, and full of love and jokes. This is a book that you are going to want to check out.
I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest opinion and review.
