USA Today bestselling author Claudia Burgoa brings you an all-new friends-to-lovers second chance romance. Made of Honor clashes with When Harry Met Sally in a sweet and seductive love story of hopeful hearts and second chances.
Men and women can be friends.
At least that’s what I’ve been telling myself since George walked into my life.
We bicker as much as we have each other’s backs.
We’re … as we have each other’s backs.
We’re inseparable.
So, she left to find herself and I feel like I can’t breathe without her.
It’s okay, it’s only temporary.
But when she walks back into my life, it’s on the arm of a stranger.
Her fiancé.
Seriously, I just realized I’m in love with her and she’s engaged?
I have six weeks to convince George we’re meant to be together—not only in the kitchen or be forced to watch her marry another man.
Time is running out, and soon, she’ll be gone from my life.
I’m risking everything, will that be enough?

I absolutely love these kind of romance stories……the anticipation of the slow burn is the best feeling. I adored George and Aggie’s right friendship, and the fact that it seemed to blind them to anything more. Funny & quirky with incredible chemistry.
What a beautiful story of two friends grow together, apart and then together- THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL SLOW BURN.
Auggie and George meet in college and have the instant best friendship around. These two are from different worlds, but they get each other. As you read you fall in love with them as they grow up and finding their voice. Yes at times I wanted to smack them for seeing what was in front of them, but it wasn’t their time yet.
she isn’t a prize. She’s everything. She’s smart and hilarious but also scared of her own shadow and so much better than she gives herself credit for

Someday, Somehow… Claudia Burgoa stole my heart. I thought she would just broke it but it was a twelve year “borrowing” that only took a few hours of my time and yet permanently stole a price of my heart.
It’s funny how we attach “hotness” to names. When I saw the names for the lead characters I scrunched up my nose, shrugged, and crossed my fingers. I know, it’s “judging a book by its cover” but we all do it. Well let’s just say Agustin and George had me wrapped around their fingers and Auggie isn’t so so bad once you start screaming it in your dreams.
Enough with my shallow thoughts, let’s bring out the big guns! Someday, Somehow is a slow burn, friends to dumb to realize their love romance. Shake your head all you want but everyone else saw it!!!!! LOl. I’m just bitter Auggie didn’t choose me. These two (shakes head) are perfect for each other, perfectly in time with on another, and perfectly oblivious. It makes it a perfect read!
Unrequited love
Oblivious feelings
Soulmates
And a wedding to someone else…
Someday, Somehow has just enough drama, angst, and feels to keep you invested without needing to throw your kindle. It’s also any romantic’s perfect way to spend a day.
4* Slow Burn Love Stars
This was a very slow burn best friends to lovers story which took place over 12 years. During these twelve years you got to see a glimpse into Auggie and George’s lives and where they were travelling and their innermost thoughts.
They both decided upon meeting in college that they would be strictly friends and not act upon what they were possibly feeling for each other. This continued for 12 years until slowly each of them realised that what they were feeling went way beyond just friendship but because they were countries apart, they could not act upon or know how the other was feeling. Auggie was especially frustrating with all of his self-doubt and resistance to act upon his feelings.
I loved that the family bonds were strong and loyal. These secondary characters were very likeable and made a great addition to the story of Auggie and George.
This was an enjoyable fun read without too much angst and drama and the Epilogue was perfect.
Someday Somehow was an addictive slow burn, friends to lovers, romcom. Auggie and George have an awkward meet cute that didn’t end well and the next meeting didn’t go any better! When Auggie makes it up to George, they soon become fast friends. Auggie has taken on the role of caretaker for his family and always working to please his father. George is an only child, who fits right in with his family and starts working in their restaurant. They use each other to soothe their hectic lives and as sounding boards for decision making, all while sharing and teaching each other the art and love of cooking. They spend so much time together, they soon become the extension of the other. As life gets more stressful, things change. They worked hard to keep each other as best friends, making it painful when their epiphanies about their deep love for each other happens at different times. Their relationship was so beautiful that everyone saw they were soulmates but them. Auggie’s cluelessness and their lack of communication was so frustrating at times, especially given how close they were. But their growth and Auggies eventual actions made him totally swoon worthy. Their story happens over 12 years allowing us to experience all their highs and lows, fun times, and heartache, and making us care for them so deeply that we cheer for their HEA wholeheartedly!
This story is an awesome slow burn best-friends to lovers’ book with its own unique twists and turns to it. This story is told over the span of 12 years.
Georgia Jones, or George as she is known to everyone, leaves home to go to college. This is where she meets Agustin Beltran, or Auggie as he is known by friends and family. Their first meeting is not a great one, their second starts off bad as well. But as they sit and talk, they just click forming a mutual bond over food. George is lonely and in need of a friend she can count on, and Auggie agrees to be that friend.
Their friendship continues to grow over the years into something remarkable. They are there for each other, they read each other like no-one else can. It is amazing to be able to be in the moment with them and enjoy how their relationship develops. As the years go on, Auggie pushes George to become a chef knowing it is her calling.
Over the years the relationship between Auggie and George goes up and down, pushing and pulling. One falling for the other without the other knowing. While George is away for culinary school, she discovers that she is hopelessly in love with her best friend. It isn’t until years later that Auggie has this same realisation. But it is too late, George had already given up waiting for him.
I have never wanted to kick a character in the butt before, but boy… did Auggie need a swift kick. He buries himself under so much work he can barely breath. He is blind to the fact George and him are PERFECT for each other, until it is too late.
I love that this story isn’t heavily focused on the physical romantic love between the two characters. It is more about the friendship they share. The fact that regardless of what happens they are there for each other no matter what.
The final chapter and epilogue of this book are a fantastic conclusion to the story. It felt like a natural progression for the two characters despite what is going on around them and really between them.

Received in exchange for a honest review.
This had good and bad. I love Auggie and George. They got on my nerves a few times because they were oblivious or they assumed more than they should have. For two people that talked alot to one another they didn’t have a conversation that was the most important. I can see Auggie’s point for after that first kiss he was friendzoned and so to me he just blocked that idea of a romance with George from his mind eve though you can tell he was smitten as a kitten with her.
Auggie was a great guy. Supportive, loyal, kind caring and devoted to his family. He had a sense of owing his father and feeling that no matter what he wasn’t going to live up to what his dad wanted and would never be able to repay him so he did doubt himself sometimes. With Georgia she was his world and he was there and supportive of her no matter what. He helped her through so much and was her lobster. He just was so stuck in the friend zone and hurt by his mother as a child that he never let his mind cross that way even when his heart already had. I love how hard working and caring he is even though sometimes he was oblivious to things. His attraction and love for George shines through in everything he did and said.
George was a great character. She assumed too many things at times but other than that she was sweet, smart, talented and kind. Instead of facing things she ran and that didn’t help the situation either. To me George was still trying to find herself. She was figuring out where she wanted to go with her life while seeing Auggie had his all laid out. The first time she left and came back, he had done this incredible thing for her but she had a dream of what would occur even though they never once had any romantic notions at all. After a while she felt she needed to go to protect her heart and this is when Auggie changes. He sees what he missed and is finding himself. Watching him find his place and seeing him and his dad grow closer and open up with one another was awesome. So Auggie changes and when George comes back she has a surprise for him and he surprises her as well. Her third time walking away really angered me because she was angry at Auggie and treated him not nice. Yes it took him longer to get where he needed to but she didn’t really talk to him about her feelings, she friend zoned him at the beginning of their friendship and never truly communicated with him. She expected him to always be there but on her terms and how she wanted, never talking to him about feelings or anything. That is why the last time she walked away angered me the most. Auggie though didn’t give up hope.
The story takes place over a 12 year period. This is how long it took these two to figure things out. To come together and see their love for one another is eternal. We see Auggie change and show George that even if it breaks his heart he will do whatever is needed to make her happy. Geroge changes but sometimes we see her assumptions that creates angst and friction as well. She hides from situaitons instead of facinig them head on. The romance is a slow burn. You can see how much Auggie loves er and he shows it in everything thing he does for her. You fall in love with Auggie even when he is clueless you can’t help but love him. George is a great character and you will love her too but with her you get angry more at her because of things she does and her assumptions. The story is of family, friendship, love and fidnign your lobster and someone who supports you no matter what. A great romance that starts as friends and becomes more
This is such a sweet second chance romance. George and Auggie are both absolutely amazing characters. I loved how much they cared for each other as friends. The supporting characters are also incredible. Wonderful book.
I really loved this story, the characters are amazing.
Auggie and Georgie met in college and became best friends.
Although they both had feelings for each other, over the course of twelve years they navigated around that feeling, acting only as best friends.
Both have a passion for cooking, and Claudia Burgoa explores this trait very well throughout the story, while they create perfect dishes for every emotional moment.
The ending is perfect and the story is simply wonderful.
I highly recommend the reading.
This is a friendship to love story (with each of them clueless as to how they truly feel about the other) that takes over 12 years to finally get on the right page. George (Georgia) and Auggie met in college when George was a freshman and Auggie was a junior. They kissed when they first met but Georgie put a stop to it before it could go anywhere and put them in the friend zone. The 2 became best friends that would do anything for each other. After college, they even lived together while Auggie work for his father’s restaurant corporation and Georgie worked in the business world. Auggie always knows what Georgie needs and is always taking care of her. He would rather spend time with her than date and he ends any relationship because they can’t understand the relationship he and Georgie has. Auggie taught George how to bake when they were in college so that when she is stress, she bakes! George always enjoy baking and ends up working for one of Auggie’s dad’s restaurant during breaks and learning how to cook stuff from Auggie’s abuela. Auggie persuades George to go to culinary school in France to become a chef. But while George is in France, Auggie misses having his best friend so he focuses all his attention on work and building a restaurant for him and Georgie. It is during this time in France that Georgie realizes that she love loves Auggie and not as a best friend. When this realization first came to her, she was shocked since they have been friends since they first met. Georgia realizes that Auggie is always trying to help her pursue her dreams and is always there for her. She can’t wait to get back to Auggie to see if he feels the same. After she graduates and goes home, she is hoping that Auggie see her and admits his feelings but Auggie being a male, doesn’t realize what is going on, After waiting and being disappointed for a couple of years, Georgie realizes that Auggie probably doesn’t feel the same way and she needs to deal with that fact and try to move on with her life. She takes a sabbatical and goes to work in Italy. Auggie is hurt and can’t understand why Georgie left when they were both doing what they dreamed of doing – owning a restaurant together and living with each other. It took a few months for of misery for Auggie to finally get a clue and realize that he is in love love with Georgie. Once he realizes that, he decides that he must change and try to win Georgie back.
When Georgie arrives back home, she brings along a big surprise – a new fiance! This obviously shocks Auggie but he reaizes that he loves her enough to want her to be happy even if it is not with him. When the reality of what being married to someone she met overseas and that they really don’t have the same life plans, Auggie thinks this is his chance but when he finally admits how he feels to Georgia, she tells him it’s too late. Georgia doesn’t want to be hurt again so Auggie must find the best ways to win her back and show her how he truly feels about her.
Granted it only took 12 years for these two to finally figure out that they are truly best friends and also partners for life. But the long ride has been fun doing things together!
Beautifully written romance.
This is slow burn, friends-to-lovers story .
Wrong time, at least what they believe.
Auggie and Georgina believe they were just best friends.
The dated other people but it never was the way they wanted, the way they dream. Something was missing.
They didn’t have a clue that their relationship was one of lovers instead of just best friends.
It took them long time to figure out, after that everything fall in place. The dreams come true.
This is my volunteer review
4 Star Review of Someday, Somehow by Claudia Y Burgoa
A slow burn, friends to lovers romance that spans a 12 year period. I have only read a couple of books by Claudia Burgoa and each book has been well written with characters that I could relate to.
The friendship between George and Auggie is real, they have been there for one another over the past 12 years and yet neither of them have ever been prepared to put their feelings on the line.
This is a story of missed chances, of not being on the same page at the same time and yet throughout this story, it is obvious to everypne around them that George and Auggie are meant to be together. Their friendhsip is beautiful to read and I love how much they support each other.
Someday, Somehow is humorous, a little angsty and at times a little frustrating. I loved George and Auggie, both separately and together, they really do make a great couple.
The question is will they finally get their happily ever after or has Auggie left his run too late? One click and find out.
Someday, Somehow is a slow burn friends to lovers romance that follows best friends Auggie and George (Georgia) through the ups and downs of college life. Timing us never right for this couple but the one thing that stays strong throughout is their friendship even when they are not being truly honest with each other regarding the feelings they both have for each other but when they finally open up is it be too late ……guess you need to read the book to find that out.
This book takes place over a 12 year span and that really gives you the opportunity as a reader to get to know Auggie and George. If you are looking for a slow burn, friends to lovers with just the right mix of humour and angst look no further than Someday, Somehow.
Someday, Somehow by Claudia Burgoa was quite the roller coaster ride. I always wondered what it’d be like to pull yourself into a book to slap a character for being so ignorant; then I realised how wonderful and clever Claudia was by making me feel this way: it absolutely exhilarated me.
What could have been a disaster of an introduction turned into the friendship of a lifetime.
Becoming best friends, they made their way through college and relied on each other when the going got tough, even if It meant eventually being half way across the world form one another. With distance between them and feelings becoming more muddled, will George and Auggie figure out what their friendship truely means or will it tear them to pieces?
This was such a fun yet slightly frustrating read. With a back and forth pull I was turning pages faster then I was willing. There was no stopping me once I started this novel, and I enjoyed every step of the journey.
I recommend this romance.
A wonderful slow burn, friends-to-lovers romance! Claudia is becoming one of my favorite authors! She can wring every last emotion out of you through her words. My heart felt all of it! I enjoyed this story by Claudia, a friends story built throughout the story that will capture you and pull you right in. You will cheer for Auggie, when he finally realizes he wants her! George & Auggie have been best friends since college, the story will take you over their lives for twelve years, you will see their relationship evolve, and just how important their friendship is to each other. You will fall in love with them, you will want to smack them at times, but overall you will get that ahhh feeling! 4 1/2 stars for this one, grab it now and enjoy!
I love Claudia Y. Burgoa’s Someday Somehow friends to lovers romance. I enjoyed reading and following Auggie and George’s story. From their beginnings as friends through the years when they discover the love they have for one other. I look forward to reading more from this author.
So Incredibly beautiful! Its the story of a guy and a girl who are friends since college and recognize at different times that they are in love with each other. If only they could get on the same page! Claudia told her audience of a big love story. Bigger than Auggie and George realize. The writing and the pivotal moments were perfect. Give me some Auggie!!!

I enjoyed this book Claudia has another great book you should read
Someday, Somehow by Claudia Burgoa is a slow burn, friends to lover story. The story start when the main characters meet each other in college, they start like friends, really good friends because due to George being raised just by her dad because her mom died she is a bit shy and she doesnt know how to be social, but when she meet Auggie, he told her we are going to be friends, really good friends and they really are.
The story continues with their friendship and how they share everything with each other, like their love relationships, struggles at school, family situations etc etc. so you can read and enjot that they have the perfect friendship and thats good for both of them, specially Auggie who doesnt believe true love exist, because her mom abandoned him and his family leaving his dad in charge of him and his twin sibilings.
Then after some years one of them start to notice that feeling are changing and maybe they can have more than a friendship, but the other one doesnt feel that way or at least doesnt notice those feelings, so they continue with their friendship.
Until one day something happen and one of them see that it can loose the person who is a bestfriend and the perfect person to be partners the whole life. But due to this tinny problem Auggie will need to see how he can make things work so he and George can have their HEA they want so bad.
So if you want to know what happen and how this story ends you need to read it as soon as is LIVE!!
