I literally just finished this story and it is nothing like I thought it would be. It BLEW MY MIND! How a book that is about 100 pages long could blow my mind and make me stop and think about life, I will not know. I am still feeling the effects of this story and I know I will feel them for the days to come. The characters, the story, the heartache, just all of it was amazing! I will have to say that this is a top read of mine for January and may come down to a top read for 2021! Mel Walker surprises me every single time and I can not wait for more!

This was an exceptional novella that had me captivated from page. It was raw, emotional and real. I highly recommend this book! Somebody’s Heartbreak has an idyllic feeling to it while keeping incredibly real characters.
Wow! What a wonderful journey of discovery not just for Blake but for me also. This is my first book from this author it was such a pleasure to read this truly romantic novella.
Blake is escaping to a small country town destination hoping to repair his broken heart. This is where he meets the effervescent Lexie who is keen to help him get over his past love, but she sets conditions of a promise that it can go no further than the one day.
**“Sometimes it takes another to make you face the reality which you struggle with.” The words were delivered with empathy and a hint of life experience.**
It’s heart wrenching and captivating and you are continually wondering why this needs to be conditional. Maybe it’s not Blake who needs to be saved after all! This was so well done, I really enjoyed getting to know both of these characters. Great read sweet!
Somebody’s Heartbreak was just the perfect amount of sweet. Mel Walker packed so much into this short story. I needed a box of tissues a few times through the story. It’s almost impossible to not fall in love with the main characters. Lexi helps Blake heal from his recent break up with his ex. Lexi’s only request from Blake was for him not to fall in love with her. Blake thought it was an easy task. Little does Blake know that before the full 24 hours is up, he will have a hard time leaving the small town in Vermont to head home. Throughout the story you learn a lot about Blake. Once Lexi start’s to share some of herself with Blake. You understand why she requests Blake to not fall in love with her.
One of my favorite quotes was wrote in the front of the book. “To be somebody’s heartbreak, you must first trust someone with your heart.” ~ Blake Carson
Cute story of love. Takes place within a days time. The story of Chad gutted me but the end made me feel better for poor Lexi. Short and sweet story
I wish this novella was longer. I didn’t want it to end. I loved reading about Blake and Lexi. In only one day, just by meeting and spending time in an “adventure” together, two people (with the help of a loving and caring town) meet and help each other move on with life. It was sweet, it was poetic and a little heartbreaking. May need tissues.
This was a sweet quick read. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting since the book was really short but it did pack a punch.
