I have read a few books by this author now and I know that I am going to be in for an intriguing read and Somebody in the Neighbourhood was no exception. I was engaged form the very beginning until the end. There was a great level of suspense that ran through the book and I loved guessing what was going to happen. Ms Moore always manages to keep me guessing throughout her stories with some great twists and turns. I really liked Dawn – the main character in the story – she was determined to find out what had happened to her aunt. Alongside Dawn were some great secondary characters that I felt really added something to the story – they were all really well developed.
I would highly recommend Somebody in the Neighbourhood to anyone who loves a good crime story – I definitely don’t think you will be disappointed!
Somebody In the Neighborhood is a great 4 star murder mystery.
I was pulled in right from the beginning.
Dawn finds out that her aunt has been murdered, curiosity got the best of her and she looked at the pictures of her aunt. Now she can’t get the image out of her mind. Dawn ends up going with her parents to Florida to take care of her aunts things. While in Florida Dawn decides she wants to stay in Florida and live in her aunt’s house and find out what happened.
As Dawn starts to meet the neighbors things get very interesting. They all seem to have secrets of some sort and so much more.
Can Dawn trust any of them? Who is the murderer?
Overall I really enjoyed this book, I love it when a book has me guessing about who the killer is. There are several twists and turns. All of the characters added a great element to the story. Judy pulls you right in with her writing and you won’t want to put it down until your done. If your looking for a great murder mystery 1-click and get started today.
This is my first ever book about crime and especially one that’s not about romance. I had my doubts as I started reading the novel, but was quickly drawn in and it became a page turner for me. I got lost in her descriptions in a good way, as it was easy to imagine yourself as Dawn in the novel, and when you think you know what’s going to happen Judy shows you how wrong you are. I did however just skim the chapters from Scratchoff’s point of view as I had difficulty understanding the way he talked. But I did enjoy all the other characters. The way Judy describes Dawn’s neighbors; the detail she goes into about them makes them very easy to imagine. I love novels that as I read them, I can picture them as a movie the deeper I get into the book. This is a very easy read, as I read it in about an hour. I would recommend this novel to anyone, as I think it would be specifically a great read for high school students as a way to teach them about being aware of their surroundings.
I have always found it easy to fall in love with Judy Moore’s crime and suspense novels every time I pick one up and this one, Somebody in the Neighborhood, is no different from the rest. I loved how this book flowed and kept me guessing all the way up until the last few scandalous chapters where everything falls into place perfectly like a grand jigsaw puzzle.
Somebody in the Neighborhood has us following a young woman named Dawn. We soon find out that her aunt has been murdered and she will be moving into the house she lived in to see if you can find out more information about how and why her aunt had to die. Things get extra dark and twisty as you find out that each of the neighbors are harboring secrets and possibly the identity of the true killer. Dawn will put everything at risk to find the answers. Things move super fast and evolve perfectly in this novel and I found myself done with it way before I wanted to be lol. I can see myself re-reading this one to look for things I might have missed the first time around, and it’s just that good I need more in my life of it. I look forward to seeing what the next intriguing suspense novel we will get from Judy Moore.
“Somebody in the Neighborhood” is a whodunit murder mystery filled with twists, turns, and drama. I found myself being suspicious of a lot of the characters for the murder of the main character, Dawn’s, aunt. I did end up guessing correctly who the murderer was, but the story ended perfectly with a twist. It definitely makes you wonder what secrets people, especially those you’re close to, have. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Somebody in the Neighbourhood by Judy Moore is a great mystery book that will definitely keep you reading.
This book was definitely suspenseful and intriguing. I found it interesting from the start when Dawn moved into her Aunts place. You knew that something was going on but couldn’t quite figure out what.
All the way through the book I was trying to guess at the outcome. The author does a great job of taking you on a journey full of twists and turns. This was a great book and one I enjoyed immensely. It is certainly worth your time.

Somebody In the Neighborhood is a murder mystery by Judy Moore. This is the third book of Ms. Moore’s that I have read, and I have enjoyed them all. The story is essentially a murder mystery, with a whodunit quality to the storyline. There is of course murder- intriguing mystery, some action, danger, plenty of suspense, drama, secrets, and surprising developments- which had me trying to predict the outcome and ‘whodunit’, before any revelations. But Ms. Moore once again kept me guessing through the entire book, twisting and turning the plot while I attempted to piece everything together to try to figure out what was going on. The story was quite detailed and descriptive, and really well woven. Ms. Moore had no problem leading me in any direction she required- while also enticing me further and further into her story. She built the suspense and tension superbly- and had me anticipating the outcome.
The characters were well developed, interesting and somewhat quirky individuals. They added to the whole ‘atmosphere’ of the story- and made it all the more intriguing.
Definitely looking forward to more from Ms. Moore!
Thank you, Judy Moore!
Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore is an awesome crime-thriller. I read the entire book in one sitting because it was that engaging. The plot had me guessing and looking for more clues. Each time I thought I had it figured out, there was a curve ball thrown and took me by surprise. I love that this story held my attention. It also creep me out a bit because I had the hair on my neck stand up multiple times. This is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Are the people in your neighborhood watching you? Are the people in your neighborhood planning your death? Who in the neighborhood can you trust? Read this story to find out the answers to these questions.
This is quite the murder mystery story! It was a bit of a struggle at first. Once we met the neighbors the story started taking off. It was fast paced and I couldn’t put it down. Everything thing was woven in highlight the good and bad so I never could figure out who done it. Very well done!
This is my first book by this author. I enjoyed her story telling. It easily kept my interest and the characters were riveting.
I love a good whodunit, suspense filled ride. And boy what a ride this one was! I was immediately hooked and mesmerized by the storyline. The characters were engaging and relatable. Moore certainly provided a fast paced thrill ride for her readers, one that any murder/mystery lover will in fact delight in. Loved it from beginning to end!
Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore is full of surprises and is a mystery thriller with lots of twists and turns. There is murder and drama, fear and secrets. The characters are a little different and complex but well developed. The story gets you right from the beginning and slowly draws you in to the web of whodunit, where everyone seems to have interesting things to say about their neighbours. It is mainly set in south Florida where the neighbours seem nice but each have their own secrets to hide and each of them may be the killer. I loved Dorothy the oldest of the neighbours she cracked me up and I really wanted to stamp on Dawn’s mother, she got my goat up but that shows that Judy did a good job in writing them.
Dawn decides it time to leave the place that has been her home for 25 years. She needs a fresh start and definitely a new boss. When she sees her aunt’s house for the first time since she was murdered she decides this is where she wants to be. Dawn meets her neighbours and quickly learns there are some secrets they don’t want to share and some of them are quick to point their fingers.
Dawn’s fears soon become reality as the murderer comes to light but an unlikely hero comes to her rescue. When things settle down Dawn is given some truths that may change her life.
I enjoyed the story which will keep most guessing right to the end. I must admit I did work out who did it but it was still interesting to see if I was right or wrong because you never know what little twists and turns an author may add.

Somebody in the neighborhood is the type of mystery that has you questioning everyone. Dawn the niece of a murder victim decides to take residence in her aunts home located in a small Oceanside town Manatee Beach. Dawn has and uneasy feeling from the first night she moves in. Her next door neighbor is a recluse who only comes out at night a sort of Boo Radley character. Then a hooded figure is outside her window one night makes her question whether the neighbors that were so welcoming could be responsible for her aunts murder. I read through this book so quickly. The plot was intriguing and before I could figure out who the killer was it revealed. I will definitely be reading more of Judy Moore and I am excited to see what she writes next.
This is a page turner, who done it kind of story. It is a well developed story that I read in one sitting. It is engaging and the characters made the story realistic. I enjoyed how the characters are connectable, relateable and watching the growth of the story. You have three murders, who will be next is anyone’s guess. When I thought I had it figured out, another twist was added to the plot. I highly recommend this suspense, mystery story and find out for yourself who is the murderer.

The story Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore is a thrilling/mystery book. It is a story that pulled me in and had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. The author creates an atmosphere of suspense that will stay with you the entire story. I enjoyed both the storyline and reading about the character of Dawn Anderson. She is a young woman who has come to live at Manatee Beach after her aunt is murdered. She is looking to be out on her own. Dawn is an intelligent and kind person. She soon begins to socialize with those who live in the neighborhood. Who could have murdered her aunt? Is that person part of the neighborhood? Is Dawn also in danger? Read this book to find out. This is the second book that I have read by the author and I have found her to have the gift of crafting an amazing story. She kept me guessing until the end. Besides Dawn, there are several other characters that are introduced. Some of them are very kind and welcoming to Dawn and others I found myself wondering about. Don’t miss out on a mystery that you will not want to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.
