From the author of bestselling novels 5 YEARS LATER & LET YOU GO comes the heart wrenching, bestselling story about a couple who lost the unthinkable… and then lost each other. With a chance encounter, the spark they once lost is still there… but what if it’s too late for them?

That’s good enough to get by.

All I have to say right now is what a story and it’s only beginning. I have so many feelings I don’t know where to start. I am so conflicted with how I feel about Brice, Kinsley, & Ben right now but if I am being honest I can’t wait to see how this story plays out in “Nobody Else”. Jaxson shows in this story with Brice, Kinsley and Ben that life isn’t always a fairytale, that it gets messy sometimes and can be heart wrenching at times. Jaxson knows how to bring everything to the table and he writes emotionally charged characters that leave us begging for more. This book may end up being one of my favorites by Jaxson Kidman. Purchase your copy today you won’t be sorry!
Jaxson Kidman has emotionally slayed me with his Somebody Else. Kinsley and Brice loved epically but also suffered tragically. Kinsley has tried to erase her past but the past always catches up to you one way or another. Kinsley has a new, comfortable maybe even boring life now with Ben that is about to implode. The love between Kinsley and Brice is all consuming, passionate, heart wrenching, tender and raw. But then there is Ben … I love this book and it’s characters so much. Jaxson evokes a rawness that soaks into the marrow of my bones.
This is such an excellent read! Looking forward to the next to see what happens!
I really enjoyed this book. I read both books in 2 days
A very moving, frustrating, story of love, tragedy, grief, and trying to find a way forward. This is Part One of Two, and you will NEED to read ‘Nobody Else’ to find how Kinsley, Ben, and Brice find resolution, peace, and love.
Well edited.
In the beginning, we meet Kinsley, Ben, and Brice. Kinsley and Ben are living the perfect life, in the perfect house, with the perfect jobs. Everything is just – Perfect. And then, Brice sees Kinsley across a soccer field. Brice sends an email to Kinsley, and suddenly, the cracks in Perfect begin to show.
Ben and Kinsley have built a life on never looking back. They never speak of the past. As if, ignoring what had been can stop it from being real.
Except, Brice. He is part of the unspoken past. He wants to remember and address the past so that he can embrace a future. With Kinsley.
And once a crack forms, more follow. Now, Ben struggles to hang on to the present as he keeps his eye on the future. Will Kinsley move forward with Ben? Or will she confront her grief and forge a future with Brice?
So much grief. So much love. So much frustration. I just want to hug Brice. I want to encourage Kinsley to deal with her loss. But, I know everyone handles grief differently. And Ben. Well, I don’t like how he speaks to Kinsley. He has his own grief, and is lost in his own solution – which isn’t really a solution. But, again, everyone handles grief differently. Now, to see if these three will come out of the darkness of grief and find light in love. Enjoy.
Loved it
As always Jaxson pulls you in from the very first chapter. This book is a rollercoaster ride of emotions. A love triangle Romance that I was feeling all of the emotions they were can’t wait to see what happens.
I want to say I am rooting for this couple. Without spoiling the book for others, I will say Brice and Kinsley’s story hopefully will not end here. That’s to say there is more of their journey to reconnection and I can imagine it is fret with a great deal of emotional roadblocks and painful truths.
Brice is very much a man with a heart of gold, sensitive and full of empathy. You can tell when he shows his love for a very young Milo, a boy who is not his but for which he cares deeply. Brice and Kingsley had a life together until tragedy tore it apart, and now both are on separate paths that help them forget or lessen the pain from the past. Kingsley is in a safe and passionless relationship with a another man, and that’s the way she wants it. Less to risk, protecting her heart. Now years later, Brice and Kingsley have a chance meeting, and you can tell the love never died, it’s still very much alive. Both are wary because along with that love lies painful memories. I certainly didn’t expect that twist and unexpected turn in events toward the ending. My heart ached a little bit more.
Mr. Kidman pulls out all the stops. He has poured out his soul in this story and it shows. Kidman doesn’t shy away from real hard subjects about human failings, and he handles it so well in his stories. It is heartbreaking, poignant and we can only hope that Brice and Kingsley find that dream of fulfillment, another chance at the beautiful life they once had together. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This is Jaxson’s best work. Kinsley and Brice’s story had me very intrigued from the very beginning of the book. The most emotional parts for me as I was reading the book was reading the emails between them both as you read them you could just read their aguish. The book is so relatable and realistic to everyone in someway. I think that there is also more to Ben.
WOW! Jaxson writes love and life as it is, messy, painful, hopeful and passionate and Somebody Else is all of that and so much more. This will rip your heart out, make you cry, but then he goes and gives you the hope and love to fill your heart and make you smile. Brice and Kinsley’s story is one emotional roller coaster ride, both past and present, but it’s a ride you will not regret taking. Through all their faults and pain they have caused each other, they truly love each other. Now they have to deal with that truth in the reality they have created for themselves, is normal they created enough? This is SO GOOD, everyone can relate to this at some level. I wish every would read this, and the conclusion in Nobody Else!!
What a great read!!! This book will have you hooked Jaxson’s books are so emotional and real they make you feel so many different things!! What an amazing writer!! Can’t wait for the next book!!!
Totally brilliant writing
Amazing characters
Phenomenal story line
My brain won’t work properly
I’m still stuck at the last page
Get it, read it, love it
Cheers
Do yourself a favour and read this book, don’t overlook it whatever you do!
In my opinion this is his best book thus far! It’s so open, honest, raw and it switches between both POV’s. Which showcases the struggles to mend the void in a broken relationship. You can really feel the push and pull from both perspectives. Given that my name is Linda I was so connected to the book it felt like I was the neighbour watching from the fence line. I could see the perfect house and lives of my neighbours but I also knew that looking in can be deceiving. I’m shocked by Kinsley’s acceptance of boring and I want to give her a talking too about just existing or living.
One positive pregnancy test, two men and three broken hearts. Brice was Kinsley’s first love it was unconditional, spontaneous and supposed to be forever until it wasn’t. Ben is her new love her life is comfortable and easy, it’s based on outward appearances, structure and his work. Kinsley’s thought she was happy until she heard from Brice. He reopened her heart and mind to the emotions she’d fought so hard to bury. Now she is torn with a huge decision to make…should she choose her true love, her partner or should she choose to find herself again?
A story about love and love’s journey. Though what happens when nothing is as easy as it sounds? When three people are all caught in this whirlwind, who is going to come out without a broken heart? Loved this first part…now waiting for part 2!!!
OMG, what a read!! I absolutely fell in love with Brice from the beginning. His pain, his heart, love and devotion gripped me, twisted me and wouldn’t let go. Kinsley has been through tragedy as well, their pain shattered me. This story is raw and full of emotion. I do not feel connected to Ben, he is cold, greedy and too planned. My heart is broken, my emotions are a mess and I am extremely anxious for the rest of their story. I feel like I could crawl into a ball and wait…
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
One of my favorite things about Jaxson is that he has the ability to write a romance you can actually believe in. He gives you real, raw, and messy, which allows you to to really relate to his stories. This story is no different. Somebody Else is the captivating first book of a duet involving Kinsley, Ben and Brice.
Kinsley’s past (Brice) comes crashing into her present (Ben) when her and Brice randomly cross paths years after their love collapsed around them. Kinsley and Brice’s love was wild, young, and beautiful. But Instead of leaning on each other during hard times, they pushed one another away and their relationship ended. Kinsley chose to move on and met Ben. Kinsley’s entire universe shifts after she hears from Brice; causing her to reevaluate her relationship with Ben and finally acknowledge the tragic events of her past.
By a third of the way through the book, I had officially decided that I hated Ben and that he had absolutely no redeeming qualities. I had decided that Brice was the one for Kinsley. The pain and tragedy that they shared would forever link them together and Ben would never be able to understand…so I thought. My stomach dropped reading the ending of this book and I am so grateful we don’t have to wait too long to get the conclusion to this story. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out, because I kind of think it might not really end how I thought it was going to.
What do you do when love loss comes in so many forms?
This tug of war tale still has me wondering!
Kinsley, Brice, and Ben have a story that’s pulling my heart in many frustrating directions!
Jaxson Kidman reeled me from the very beginning with unique characters and a beautifully damaged storyline that for as much as it killed me I needed to keep going!
A one sitting kept me up well past what’s good for everyone around me hour- this is an emotional rollercoaster of feels that just felt like it needed to be written, and I am waiting impatiently for the second book to put me out of my misery!
Well done!
I’m not real sure where or how to start this review, so if im all over the place, you’ll know why when you read this book. My emotions hit the gamet. I laughed. I cried. I got super mad at the characters, and thought about throwing my kindle, more than once I might add. And then, I did it all over again. I loved Brice from the beginning. Kinsely mostly too, Ben, not so much. But he grew on me. They all did. I loved reading their struggles. The hardships of life they face. The love, and the loss. All of it made for such a bookhangover I’m not sure I’ll recuperate. But then again, isn’t that what a great book is supposed to do.
Brice and Kinsley broke my heart and I’ve got to admit that even by the end of Somebody Else, my heart still hasn’t healed.
I don’t want to spoil anything, so just let me say that, as per usual with Jaxson’s writing, Somebody Else is heartbreakingly sad, poignant and beautiful, and Jaxson’s obviously sensitive soul shines through every single word of Brice and Kinsley’s story. They had a beautiful life together until tragedy tore it apart, tore them apart. Now years later, they have a chance to put things right, to have the future they always dreamed of. But there are other people in their lives that make that future impossible. Will they end up together? Or will the others in their lives have their way? Have their say?
I’m waiting, VERY IMPATIENTLY, for the conclusion to this duet. It really cannot come soon enough. I know Jaxson has an incredibly packed schedule, but honestly, if he could just release the conclusion right now, I would be incredibly happy. I need to know if my heart’s gonna be healed or if it’s gonna stay broken into the million pieces it’s in right now!
Wow, talk about a book that grips you from the very first page, this one is it! The storyline was well written, the plot flowed smoothly from page to page and the characters were written with great detail and depth! Jaxson doesn’t mess around when he develops his characters, he makes them wonderfully flawed, human, relatable and believable which makes them all the more engaging! This is another Jaxson Kidman book that stays with you long after the last page is turned!
Kinsley did everything she could go erase her old life. She met someone new and now lives in the perfect house, drives the perfect car, and lives the perfect life with Ben. The one thing from her past she couldn’t erase? Brice. And all it took was one chance meeting to bring back all the memories of a life they thought would last forever. One meeting and Kinsley realizes she’s not really living, just existing. That was never an option with Brice.
Ben is so different from Brice. Ben is always in control, planning for the future and logical. With Ben the past never mattered; he lives in the present. With Brice, there’s just too much of the past between Kinsley and him, not to matter. But the guilt that comes with Kinsley’s confused heart, matters too. Brice and Kinsley’s life was torn apart by tragedy. Years later, would this same tragedy bond them for life, or will the memories from her past push her further into Ben’s waiting arms?
This story went deep and explored a lot of difficult subjects. Jaxson’s writing is about as raw and true to life as one can get and THAT’S what keeps the reader engaged. RELATABLE, FLAWED CHARACTERS AND THE MESSES AND MISTAKES THAT COME WITH THEM !
A ROLLERCOASTER OF EMOTIONS THAT WILL TRANSPORT INTO THE LIVES OF CHARACTERS THAT ALL DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE !
THIS IS A DEFINITE MUST READ !
