THE WALLFLOWER WAY by Sue London:
Sweet and charming. Rachel is very shy and she hides behind a persona of being reserved and polite. She is very practical. She is happy to stay in the shadows and let her younger sister absorb the wonders of gentleman’s attentions. When the newly minted Earl of Moorgate, Gabriel, found out from his cousin that his mother was trying to force his hand into marriage he decided to take matters into his own hands. He found Rachel to be the perfect accomplice to pull off his caper to fool his mother. He would stage a fake engagement. Over time he realized there was much more to Rachel than people gave her credit for and soon feelings on both sides start to develop. A tender-hearted story. A good read.
FIND ME LOVE by Dawn Brower:
I have read and loved the Fortuna Parlor stories. This particular one is about fear of failure, avoidance of failure and feeling undeserving of love. Diana is ignored by her parents, never feeling worthy of their attention and also feeling let down that they did not care. She thought most people were like that. So, she became a wallflower and tried to be obscure. It wasn’t until her sixteenth summer she met Lulia a fencing master. They became fast friends and Lulia trained Diana. She felt she found her place in the world while fencing. She felt alive and exhilarated. She designed and co-originated fencing matches and through Fortuna people placed bets. This was designed for women only. I liked that Diana found an outlet that made her feel useful, needed, essential. She truly had a wonderful personality once she got to know someone and trusted them. When Luther’s father died his last wish was that he marries the neighboring estate’s daughter. That was Diana. But at the time he was not interested in marriage and certainly not with her. She was but sixteen at the time. Too young. Years passed. Luther had spent them drinking, gambling and women. One evening he was determined to change and settle down. He went to a ball for the first time in forever and was reunited with Diana. When he first saw her, he did not recognize her. Once they were reintroduced, he was smitten by her beauty and was determined to marry her. She was the one for him. Little did he know what an uphill battle he faced. A delightful story.
SCANDALOUS WALLFLOWER by Amanda Mariel:
Jane considered herself on the shelf, a spinster. Even though she desired marriage and a family she came to realize it may never happen for her. Jane is a unique individual. Her mother damaged her by drilling into her that she was not even passably pretty. She was plain. A wallflower to the core. She did make a wonderful friend. Loyal and true. She was also honest and did her best never to embarrass herself or her family. However, one night was all it took to turn her world upside down. An inspiring story of re-evaluating ones self-worth.
CAPTIVATED BY THE WALLFLOWER by Aileen Fish:
Great story. I liked Susan. She was shy but when you got to know her she was quite the intelligent, generous, thoughtful person. Adam, Viscount Knightwick, liked being around Susan. She allowed him to be himself without her flirting or trying to gain his attention. They were friends and he cherished that. The story covers how they spent time together and unknowingly fell in love. Good read.
ROMANCING A WALLFLOWER by Anna St. Claire:
Inspirational, captivating, romantic, suspenseful, intriguing and completely satisfying. I had come across this book before and had always wanted to read it. I loved it. The characters were alive, mature and had sensible personalities. I fell in love with the main characters and the secondary characters. It was nice that the role animals/pets take in people’s lives was highlighted beautifully. When I was near the end, I could not help but be surprised and had a smile on my face. I was so happy for the main characters Lillian and John. The only thing that would have made this better was an epilogue featuring the strides Lillian would make in her health and hoping she would one day ride Danby again. What a lovely story. I really enjoyed it.
THE SPINSTER’S ALLURING SEASON by Tabetha Waite:
‘A truly romantic story. I can hardly stop smiling. If I could swoon I would this is such a beautiful story. Rowena self-declared spinster meets someone from her past that has never forgotten her. Pierce’s desire was to gain her affection and marry her. I loved the story of how he rose from humble beginnings to a spy for the Crown and due to his service, he was bestowed the title of baronet. He was now a member of high society and would be able to be with Rowena. A great story of perseverance, sacrifice, faith and love. A wonderful read.
THE DISAPPEARANCE OF LADY EDITH by Christina McKnight:
Exciting, ambitious, scandalous, dangerous all this and more. This story moved at a fast pace. I was glued to each and every page just having to know what happened next. The author kept us guessing till the end who the villain of the story was and it was a shock. The only drawback I had was it was never discovered if their friend was pushed down the stairs or fell down the stairs and broke her neck. I wish that had been resolved. I would not have been surprised if the villain had done it out of competition and jealousy. I was happy and sad at the ending. Not everyone was left unscathed by what happened. An excellent story.

This is a delightful collection of romances written by a group of seven very talented authors centered around a group of determined wallflowers and the rogues they love. Some authors I have read before and some are new to me. I had the opportunity to read my favorite genre and experience a variety of writing styles. I am glad I picked this one up because I now have a few new authors to follow! Each one did a fantastic job with providing vivid descriptions and interesting plots. The storylines were all artfully crafted with well defined characters and kept me hooked until I finished. I had to pace myself as I wanted to read all in one sitting! This is truly a gem of a collection and if you love Regency romances, you definitely will want to add this to your collection!

It was really awesome. I could not stop reading it. The era that this book is written is fantastic. It makes you feel that you are living in the same time as the characters. I definitely recommend this book

An excellent collection of Regency wallflower romances! A number of them I had read before but it was a delight to be able to read them again!
The Wallflower Way by Sue London. A wonderful romance about how one cannot always remain in the background. And making sure your sister gets the attention may actually work against you. Especially when destiny has a say in the matter!
Find Me Love by Dawn Brower. Being a matchmaker can sometimes backfire on a person. At least Diana finds that out when Luther decides to take matters into his own hands!
Scandalous Wallflower by Amanda Mariel. What does one do when a rake stumbles into the wrong room and the wrong bed and you do nothing to stop him? Even if he passes out before anything happens but the next morning the whole mess is discovered by your brother, his wife, and the biggest gossip known to man? Why you get married of course! Now, what is a girl to do? A delightful romp and one of my favorites in this collection!
Captivated by the Viscount by Aileen Fish. Reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn and Christopher Plummer in My Fair Lady when a Viscount attempts to turn a wallflower into a stunning sought after, eligible, Diamond of the ton. Be careful, Viscount Knightwick, your effort may come back to bite you!
Romancing a Wallflower by Anna St. Claire. Have a few tissues handy for this one because you may find that you will need them. Lillian and her twin sister are out for a gallop on their horses when a shot rings out, and her horse gets spooked. Lillian is thrown, injures her spine and head against a boulder and suffers a trauma-related paralyzation and is confined to a wheelchair. Her savior that day was John Andrews, the Earl of Harlow. Fast forward a year later when Lillian meets John for the first time since the accident and see what the power of love can accomplish. Another favorite of mine within this collection.
The Spinsters Alluring Season by Tabetha Waite. Having been a spy for the Crown may sound mysterious and glamorous but as Sir Pierce discovers, it may not always work in his favor. Especially when it comes to a certain young woman whose affection and heart he is trying to win!
The Disappearance of Lady Edith by Christina McKnight. Edith Pelton is positive her best friend was murdered. But how to prove it? She starts to spend her spare time spying on the husband of her deceased friend positive that he was the person responsible. Her spying is noticed and she acquires an ally in the form of a handsome stranger. Will she find the proof she needs? And will she win the heart of this wonderful man while doing so? A delightful who-dun-it murder mystery, Regency style!

This was a nice collection of romances about Regency women who are on the sidelines, but are still strong independent heroines and the rakes who fall in love with them. There was plenty of suspense, steamy and sweet romance, and funny moments.
Delightful Regency Box Set
If you enjoy Regency romances, this is a fun box set. As you might imagine from the title, the heroines are all wallflowers, usually somewhat determined spinsters—though some simply because of circumstance. As such, the stories have a bit more gravitas than the ones featuring debutantes as the heroines. As is typical of Regency romance these days, several novellas have a spy element as well. The steam level ranges from completely sweet to slightly steamy. This group of authors regularly put out quality box sets around particular themes, and I usually enjoy them. This one is no exception. If you enjoy well-written Regency novellas as I do, you will most likely enjoy this set of stories.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Seven heartfelt tales of willful wallflowers and the rogues they tame, I enjoyed reading everyone of these stories. Once I was finishes reading this ARC I had to own my own set so I could read again when I wanted to.
I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of seven stories about wallflowers and the men they won. Each story had great characters, romance, intrigue and of course a HEA. I loved that each of the wallflowers were much more intelligent and interesting than the typical lady of the town seeking a husband. This collection will provide you with many hours of reading pleasure. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy from Booksprout.
Super talented authors you are in for a treat.
I picked this book up because I love Amanda Mariel’s stories and when you have it in a collection of some super talented authors you are in for a treat. The Wallflower Way by Sue London, Find Me Love by Dawn Brower, Captivated by the Wallflower by Aileen Fish, Romancing a Wallflower by Anna St.Claire, The Spinster’s Alluring Season by Tabetha Waite, and The Disappearance of Lady Edith by Christina McKnight were all splendid reads but I loved Ms. Mariel Scandalous Wallflower In this tale Lady Jane is the first lady you meet and it was a very interesting meeting that leads to an unwanted event. Since the loss of his sister Caleb has been unable to give love and now he had to keep his distance from Jane. This quick read told the journey Jane and Caleb had to take before they could find happiness. It was an excellent read. One note in the book description on Goodreads and Amazon the info for Ms. Mariel’s book is wrong. It also looks as if it is wrong on other websites too. I loved the piece and the collection is great. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
If you are looking for an entertaining collection of Regency romance books, you don’t need to look any further since that is exactly what you get with this boxed set. These authors did a fantastic job with these books.

The Wallflower Way by Sue London 4.25 Stars
Rachel Flowers doesn’t care to marry, preferring that her two younger sisters be the focus of their mother’s matchmaking tendencies. A chance encounter with new earl Gabriel Whitestone changes her destiny. His mother is hounding him to marry his cousin so Gabriel devises the plan of a fake betrothal to Rachel. However neither realised how well suited they were. I loved the banter between Gabriel & Rachel & he soon sees another side to Rachel than the retiring wallflower. Strong characters & a story that flowed very well
Find me love by Dawn Brower 4 Stars
As a young girl Diana decided she liked fencing more than being a proper lady, but sometimes embracing the rules of society is a necessary evil. Fortuna’s Parlour gives her the opportunity to utilize her love of fencing, and ton balls are the perfect place to hold the clandestine matches.
Roguish behaviour, gambling, and expensive brandy are Luther Wright, Earl of Northesk’s favourite vices. Diana & Luther grew up on neighbouring estates but a chance encounter at a ball & Luther decides to court her. Her strong will and his need to protect her clash—only time will tell if they are able to find a way past their differences, and in turn, an enduring love. A well written delightful novella that I read in a sitting. Differences of opinions & secrets threaten to destroy their budding romance
Scandalous Wallflower by Amanda Mariel 4 Stars
A wallflower by nature, Jane long ago accepted she would become a spinster. After Caleb Wesley, The Earl of Keery, failed to protect the one person who’d counted on him, he embraced his role of blackguard. Then he accidentally ruins a lady and is forced to offer marriage.
Caleb & Jane brought together through an unwanted circumstance discover something neither one believed they’d ever have. An engaging novella that I read in a sitting, I loved how their relationship developed & how Jane helped Caleb let go of the past
Captivated by the Wallflower by Aileen Fish: 4.5 Stars
Adam Lumley, Viscount Knightwick, desperately wants to breed one of his mares to a stallion owned by the Earl of Huntfield. Huntfield sees no reason to improve the stock of his competition and repeatedly turns down whatever sum Knightwick offers. After giving up hope his wallflower daughter will ever find a husband, Lord Huntfield settles on a deal: if Knightwick can turn Lady Susan into a diamond of the Season, Knightwick can breed his mare as he wishes. Lady Susan Yarwood truly enjoys London assemblies. Where else can she find so many potential sponsors for the school she wishes to establish for the poor children in Huntfield? With her father threatening this will be her final London Season, she must work quickly to secure the funding she needs.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, of course a deal is bound to go wrong, afterall no one hears something good when eavesdropping! I loved both Adam & Susan & how they gradually became friends & fell in love. A little longer than some of the other novellas, so I read this captivating read in two sittings
Romancing a Wallflower by Anna St.Claire 5 Stars
A tragic riding accident leaves Lilian DeLacey unable to walk and restricts her life to books and quiet activities, a life she is resigned to live until she meets John Andrews, the Earl of Harlow who rescues her after her accident. An undercover commission for the Crown takes him into the heart of a dangerous smuggling operation on the Cornwall coast, and unseen dangers threaten his life and Lilian’s. A little gem & I loved it. Very well written with strong characters, a wheel chair bound heroine, an agent of the crown, smugglers & a delightful rescued puppy, everything needed to make a first class read
The Spinster’s Alluring Season by Tabetha Waite 5 Stars
Lady Rowena has been invited to the lavish house party of the newly minted baronet, Sir Pierce. He’s mysterious and intriguing, having served the Crown as an English spy, but his only purpose has been to win a certain lady’s affections. When the truth of his past comes to light, will the lady choose society’s approval, or the man who has stolen her heart?
Another gem & I loved every single page, Pierce is a self made man from orphan to being given a Baronet for his services to the crown, I loved, loved how he’d remained steadfast. Rowena is the wallflower hoping to travel to America with her friends – the only problem is they keep falling in love & marrying. A lovely novella that once again I read in a sitting
The Disappearance of Lady Edith by Christina McKnight 4 Stars
One tragic night changed sensible, proper Lady Edith Pelton’s life: when her best friend Tilda fell to her death from plummeting down a flight of stairs on her wedding night. Did she fall down the flight of stairs or was she pushed by her new husband the Duke of Abercorn. Now, Edith & her friends Ophelia & Lucianna dedicate their time watching the man they think is responsible, whilst gathering information to expose other scoundrels posing as gentlemen of honour about London. But when her spying is noticed by a perfect stranger, Lord Torrington things take an unexpected turn.
This was a quick, easy & entertaining read, the pace was very good & it kept me reading to the end. There is mystery, kidnapping as well as romance. The characters are well portrayed & have plenty of depth. Triston is trying to avoid scandal after he was the centre of a huge one a couple of years earlier, he’s everything you want in a hero & I could definitely relate to Luci’s vision of him pulling a cart! This is the first in a new series & is a very good series opener & I look forward to the rest of the series where the truth about Tilda’s death will be revealed. Edith is levelheaded & I’m only glad she was a modern woman & was wearing drawers when she tumbled from the tree.
A lovely anthology of seven stories, it includes some of my must read authors, all of the novellas are well written with likeable characters. There were two gems but all of them are engrossing reads
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Great set of stories following strong women and the men whom they develop affection for. I voluntarily received this book for an honest review
This collection of seven different novels by seven different authors each have three things in common – a Regency setting, a wallflower heroine, and a happy ending. Aside from that, each is substantially different from the others. The heat levels range from sweet to very mild steam.
Although all of the stories were pretty good, I would say my favorite was Romancing a Wallflower. The heroine, Lilian, is horseback riding with her twin sister when a shot rang out and her horse reared. Lillian is thrown to the ground, hits a large rock and feels terrible pain. Before she passes out, she hears a male voice and feels strong arms pick her up. She remembers a particular scent, but not much else.
A year later she meets John, the man she thought of as her hero, who had rescued her that terrible day. Lillian is confined to a cumbersome wheelchair and sits with The Wallflowers. There is much more to this story including spies and secrets, wicked widows and cute puppies, and a lot of love, Get it for yourself and enjoy the book – actually, enjoy all the book in the collection.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I also ordered this collection on Amazon..
