A struggling business and one act of vandalism may have brought them together, but bakery owner Chloe Nelson and professional hockey player Griffin Lange get along like chocolate and pickles. Chloe needs the famous (and famously unattached) Griffin to attract people to her pastries, and Griffin needs the curvaceous and fiery Chloe to keep him out of trouble. A fake relationship to keep the media … media interested seems like the perfect plan.
But when temptation throws them into bed together, a new plan arises. Griffin’s winning every home game, and Chloe’s business has never been better. Both know it’s only physical–and only temporary. But can they drop their defenses for love, even if it means getting a little bit sinful?

The bad boy meets the good girl and comedy unfolds. This romantic comedy was fun and feisty. I enjoyed the tug-of-war between the main characters as well as the happily ever after finish.
I really liked the the story till 3/4 the way. It was fun and entertaining. But then the story turned kinda sad and it felt like a different story. It ends on a cute note though.
Griffin is a hockey player that is at the end of his career and because of the stunt, he ends up by Chloe in a bakery working his community service hours. Chloe and Griffin are like water and oil but for keeping her in the business and him out of the negative media they start to pretend that they are in a relationship. But soon the fake becomes very real. Unfortunately, the truth comes out and their feelings are taken on the line. I liked both Chloe and Griffin but the new improved Griffin after he sees that he had done a lot of mistakes. The story is funny with a great sexy times between Griffin and Chloe, with a pinch of mystery and sport. Lovely read.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
Once I finished this book, I had to get the next two just to finish the series.
Surpringly good story develipment
The end seemed very tied up and brief after some parts of the book seemed to drag out the conflict of each protagonists’ flaw. However, the heroine and hero are cute characters and very likeable.
A little repetitious half way thru but I did read to the end.
Great read!!
I enjoyed it so much, I bought the whole series!
I usually don’t read books with this much “fooling around” but this was well written and intriguing enough to keep me going.
Absolutely loved this book, complex characters and relationships and steamy interaction between main characters! What’s not to love. Will be following this author in the series.
Kind of a rushed ending that was corny but I enjoyed the light read.
Loved it!!
I love reading any story that features hockey players. This one is confronting the twilight of his career and regrets squandering his opportunities. Enter one entrepreneurial baker for his penance. Nice to have a (relatively) deep male protagonist — and not too saccharine. Love the grandmother.
This story stays with you because you love the main characters. Definitely one I’ll read again.
I loved it!
Fun
If you are a fan of predictable happy-ever-after you will like this book. If not, you will find it trite and very cliché. Hockey player is blackmailed into helping baker; baker hates jocks; he smooths the way for baker to be successful; and they live happily-ever-after.
Very likable characters.
This book would be what I would call a book for when I don’t want to use my brain. This book is also unrealistic but it’s easy to get lost in these types of books. The ending is semi-predictable but the characters are created perfectly with realistic backgrounds and problems of the past
