“LUSH… Sombra is MY FAVORITE kind of read, unexpected and a total ROMANTIC ESCAPE.” ~ Jay Crownover, New York Times bestselling author My life had been unlived. The safe major at the safe school. The safe boyfriend with his safe promises. Then I stepped off the plane in Madrid and saw him.Of all the men in Spain, he has to be the very hottest. That crooked smile. That devastating charm. Don’t even … stepped off the plane in Madrid and saw him.
Of all the men in Spain, he has to be the very hottest.
That crooked smile. That devastating charm. Don’t even get me started on how he plays the Spanish guitar.
For the very first time, my life feels like my own.
But I’m not the only one who’s made promises.
Despite the heat between us, Tavo has his own bargain to keep, a marriage for the family’s honor.
All those delicious muscles and he’s a man of honor, too. It’s a real shame about his obnoxious fiancé.
Faster than you can pour the wine, my life’s become a Shakespearean comedy.
But you know what they say: Everything in moderation. Including virtue.

4.5 stars. The hot Spaniard, the lovely American, beautiful music, delicious food and the gorgeous backdrop of Spain makes this a breathtaking, lush love story that’s superbly written. This story explodes in your senses much like the food would in your mouth. Sensual, spicy and delicious! Tavo and Kim are wonderful characters with a steamy connection. Hot The secondary characters are great too. Don’t miss the story along with Sol. It’s worth the read! And one if the best covers of the year. Beautiful!
As soon as I start the first chapter, a song is mentioned. I guess that means I’ll be listening to some music while reading. But with that one particular piece, I didn’t need the radio because I had no trouble having that play out in my head.
Gustavo “Tavo” Cantor is shocked by news he’s just heard. Kim Brown is ready for the experience of a lifetime. She had me wishing that we could trade places. It’s an experience I always wanted a chance at. It also reminds me how terrible I am at learning languages. But that won’t stop me from enjoying this book.
I felt like I was sitting in the wrong place while reading this story. I wanted to be in a Spanish countryside with a cool/warm breeze. I’ve never been across the Atlantic and this author just had me feeling like I would enjoy her story even more if I just took that trip in order to experience some of what Kim might have. Even though I wouldn’t be able to speak the language that doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t love listening to it. She also has me thinking, “oh to be young again”.
If you’re someone that likes stories that speak to your heart than you’ll love this one. It just catches you right from the beginning. Even if you do feel sorry for Tavo as responsibilities weigh heavily on him. You really get a sense of family and all the emotions that go with it. You may find yourself getting sucked into the story just like I did. It was nice to see this story work toward a happy ending but it seemed like there was more than one. This book can be considered a standalone so if you haven’t read the first book that’s ok. But I still want to check it out just to see what it offers.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
What do you do when your promised to another but you don’t want to be? Do you do what your family wants and risk loosing yourself or do you do what your heart wants and risk loosing everything else? Not an easy question to answer especially when you despise the person you are being asked to wed for the sake of saving your family home. Tavo has aspirations of coming to the United States to pursue his dream of performing, he loves to sing and dance, but his mother wants him to marry the girl on the farm next door that has been in love with him since they were young. What can he do? And now the beautiful American girl Kim comes into his life as a border while attending University, she is the one that lights his fire..and she is definitely not the girl next door.
Kim has led a very structured life letting everyone dictate what to do and when to do it so when she was given the opportunity to study in Spain for a semester on scholarship she jumped at the chance. Did she know that accepting the scholarship would change her life forever?
The chemistry was AMAZING! Tavo and Kim had so much sexual energy radiating off of them that everyone around could feel it. This book was not only sexy as all get out but it was also a book of self discovery and sexual exploration. I will admit that I will never look at OLIVE OIL the same again!!!!!
