Sergeant Rick Week’s career ended in a hail of bullets and the death of a friend. After months of recuperation, he’s finally able to fulfill a promise he made to that friend. All he has to do is find a girl and deliver a letter. Simple. Maybe… addressed to her late fiance, Billy, rocks her. Not as much as the sexy as hell british soldier who turns up on her doorstep. The man who was with Billy when he died. She shouldn’t find him attractive. Not at all…
Meanwhile fate, and Billy himself, have plans to bring the reluctant lovers together.
Can Rick and Hattie get past their grief and let love in?

Soldier’s Angel was a short read and yet one that I had a hard time starting. Just knowing where it was going and how delayed the letter was going to take stopped me. Once I started the read, I was vaulted into the emotions. Rick and Hattie are experiencing all of the emotions from grief, loss, sadness, loneliness, then they find their chemistry and passion, the full gamut is here. This is life…grab the tissues and hang on.
Great change of pace. I usually read all Ms Carters PNR/SciFi Romances but I really liked the look of this one.
I loved the concept of Rick and Hattie being guided together from beyond. Even after his death Rick is trying to make sure that those he left behind find happiness. I’m not really a religious or spiritual person but this was just so heart-felt and sweet I couldn’t help enjoy it.
Two broken souls finding completion with each other, not only united in grief. Now they have love binding them together.
It’s rare for me to give 5 stars to such a short story but it gave me the ‘feels’. It was short and sweet and packed a punch…straight to the heart. I was teary by the end, happy tears. Was this insta love or just meant to be? I loved it.
Rick Weeks and Hattie Jameson were to walk a path of acceptance and love. Good characters, strong emotions where loss, sadness, loneliness and feelings of guilt were dealt with. Romance, the characters’ insight and a lovely and emotional HEA that I enjoyed.
I enjoy reading military romance and this re-release did not disappoint. I loved Rick and Hattie’s character, their intense chemistry was entertaining to follow and when nothing stood in their way, their loving was worth waiting for. Sweet, easy to read with likable characters made this a must read.
The Letter…
This is a re-release of a story titled “The Letter” which was actually one of the first stories I read by Ms. Carter. I loved reading it then and that holds true for this time around. Hattie was a perfect fit for Rick and he for her. I will admit that “hearing” Rick’s accent in my head just made me all kinds of tingly. I know you understand what I mean!

The Right Angel
What a wonderful surprise this book turned out to be. For such a short story it was powerful in the telling. If you have ever had someone you love not return after their service this book nailed the emotional cost.
Hattie and Rick make this story real.
The emotions the story pulled from me make me write this review. The book was too good not to praise it.
This cute novella really makes you believe in love and a soldier’s mission. You will laugh and cry with these characters as they end up believing in love after heartbreak. I would love to see more set in this world with some of the other characters.
