Barsork will need to first gain Betty’s trust. It won’t be easy, especially considering he was the one who tricked her and took her away in the first place.
Will Betty get back to Earth? Or will Barsork succumb to his brother’s demands and change his mind?
Sold To The Alien King is book 1 of the Alien Auction House series. There is NO cheating, NO cliffhangers, and a happy ending!more
I can’t seem to get enough of these alien romance books and the more I listen to them, the more I love them. This one had a great storyline, beautifully written, steamy, action, and kept me hooked the whole time. Loved Audra’s narration.
Once you get past the typos, the book is just okay. Both Barsork and Betty are good deceivers in their own rights. Granted Betty was abducted by Barsork but he had no intention of selling her to the auction house his brother owns and runs. I probably will not read any others in this series.
The story is good and very interesting. It does pull you in and you have to find out what happens. It has action and suspense. Audra Cook’s narrative is good. It is definitely worth reading and listening to.
Poor writing, inconsistencies = DNF
Book 1 in the Alien Auction House series, I recently read book 2, which I mostly liked, but did feel there were some background gaps so I picked this up to try to fill in some of the missing pieces.
While I did get some of the background I was looking for, what really hit me was a number of inconsistencies between book 1 and 2. For one, the alien race name was different. At first I thought this book might be about a related species, but nope, there was a planet leader/auction house owner with the exact same name so it had to be the same planet. It’s such a basic thing to get wrong that I was tempted to quit reading, but decided to persevere only to become more confused as the writing just didn’t seem as good as book 2–which I had just finished earlier in the day.
There was also a logic error early on that made me cringe (character used eye drops that let him see through everything but flesh, but he was still seeing things like sticks, metal rods and podiums?!). Still, I continued reading, trying to give the author the benefit of the doubt but another chapter and a half in, and I skipped to the end to see if it was going to get any better, only to confirm that the planet leader/auction house owner with the same name from book 2 wasn’t actually the same character (I thought maybe something in this book would explain why the character seemed so different from book to book, but another big nope). So I gave up. And I almost NEVER give up.
Basically the writing here just wasn’t anywhere near the quality of book 2. I’m not sure if there was an editor change, or if this is a case of different ghostwriters publishing under the same pen name—yes, I thought the writing changed that much. I actually went back to see if there was anything in either blurb about different authors writing in the same world or using a similar premise but nada.
Poor writing and inconsistencies made this a DNF for me.
arc review For honest review . Barsonice is xieret and when he sees what his brother is doing at the actions he goes to earth to see stuff for himself and meets betty a virgin there. Really cute.
Great alien adventure. Barsock definitely adds some excitement to nerdy Betty’s life. Although Betty is new to anything except studying, she holds her own when dealing with this alpha alien. Barsock is so smitten that he will do anything to make her happy. Their relationship has its challenges but their bond won’t be denied. What I really love about Barsock is not only his unconditional, sacrificial love for Betty but that he is man enough to show and tell her, she completes him and he is not ashamed of that.
